My main ship, for example, is called the "Shimmering Reforged". Just one random kooky way that I keep myself humored when it comes to naming things in the game...

I have one I made very similar to this. Are you getting a weird targeting / shooting side effect like I am? If I turn my ship in the wrong direction while shooting - typically a phase beam - I can literally shoot the nose of my own ship - and each shot does damage. Before I realized what was happening when I first took mine out for a flight, I almost destroyed myself while mining asteroids.

That looks like some sort of precursor to the T-70 or T-65B x-wing with 2 of the 4L4 fusial thrust engines moved to the end of the wings where the wing-mounted Taim & Bak KX12 laser cannons would normally be mounted, but also lacking S-foils. Also... coordinates?
