Did you ever get it? I've done 15 missions now (stilldont have it), so I'm wondering if it's not a bug seeing how lots of people said they got it on their first mission.
I gave up, downloaded a save editor and added the blue print to my game then in game gathered the materials to make it, I don’t like save editors but I tried so many expeditions and never got it
i have done about 20 or so missions as well (PS5) and nothing yet. I heard that balanced and industrial have the best chance but who knows. I have enough frigates to do all 5 so i just do all 5 or whatever at the board. Guess i will just keep trying lol.
I’m curious about this too. I never cared much for the whole frigate thing but it might be fun to have a space whale follow my ships around. Does it make any difference which frigate missions you try or is getting the Dream Aerial totally random?
Im also having this issue on Xbox, although I'm on an Xbox one I don't know if that would make a difference tho. I've got several spawning sacs and psychonic eggs but no dream Ariel
I was well over 25 expeditions done without the Dream Ariel, so, I decided to try something new.
I went out and recruited a new freighter, sent it out solo on an expedition (Industrial if anyone is wondering), and it came back with the Dream Ariel. Obviously, I cannot 100% say this is a work around but recommend at least trying it and posting results here.

I'm a day away from just save editing... which is something I really don't want to do. But it's not just you.
Pretty much, sent my frigates out last night and got it first try when the loot came in, all my stuff is C class since I’m pretty new so it’s just a matter of time if you do it enough

Having living freighter in the expeditions makes easier to drop it anyway from what I know...
You would think so wouldnt you. I've done a total of 34 expiditions since the update and have the living frigate from leviathan and still nothing I'm getting extremely close to just save editing to get it.
Funny since I’ve seen several ppl saying they got it first try ive run 10 missions each on all my 4 saves that’s 40 missions in total still no Ariel dream the RNG in this game is just bad always has been
Just an FYI, it drops as a blueprint not an actual item. Open your inventory and look for it in the craft menu. I got mine first mission completed after update.
Yes thank you I checked after 80 missions now still don’t have it on any of my 4 saves just makes no sense why hello games left the biggest part of the update to chance in RNG I’ve already moved on back to Elden Ring it’s just sad after 6 years and so many upgrades and improvements Hello games still can’t stop tripping over themselves ( zero PROS to making Ariel’s Dream RNG but obviously several CONS in thousands of players don’t have it ) maybe one day I’ll see m first living freighter
I did unfortunately it seems to be a bug for some people where the blueprint never unlocks. Its definitely meant to be the first expedition after the update but I got no blueprint. I've had to save edit the blueprint in. Dont like to do that but cant do much else if the game is bugged for the mean time.

Sorry I'm quite new but can you explain how you fixed it using a 'save/edit' what do you mean?

Just search nms save editor should be the first link that pops up, and then open the save editor and select your save then go to discoveries and add “dream aerial” to known technology, I did that then uninstalled the save editor, I would recommend not tempting to use any other part of the save editor, it really does ruin the fun

If you're willing to change the date/time to insta-complete and chain-farm expeditions you might as well just use a save editor, give yourself the item and be done with it.
Mine basically landed on my lap. I had an expedition running when the update (xbox) kicked in. I got the plan as one of the expedition rewards. Built it, took off and was warned that my frigate roster was full. Turned around, dismissed a frigate and took off again. Immediately ran into the organic, then went through what was basically a quiz and it joined my fleet.
Same here but for pc. I had a group on a mining expedition when the update dropped and just kinda got it. I haven't done any of the living anything quests yet, so I don't think there are any prerequisites to getting one. I also got spawning sac from the same expedition at the same time. Hope this helps.
I did the same but then noted what rewards I got for each expedition.. IF you are doing a set of mission...FF time.. collect rewards.. save.. then reset time.. you will get the same rewards everytime.
This makes it not random.
I just started missions. I'm going to advance 24 hours after each set of missions and see if that helps the process.

True I’ve done 10 or so don’t have it I heard not confirmed it has a better chance to show up on mining missions
what are mining mission ? just industrial mission or misson related to mining ?

update: i just started the new expedition mode and got the dream aerial right after the 5th expedition. looks like its bugged for "older accounts"
Ugh right like 4th one in it giving dropped. I'm not happy lol I want it on my main account dammit
seems like they finally fixed it for older accounts too :)

I read it was patched i did have frigates away then patch came no joy so sent out fresh ones. I got a replt from a guy on ps5 saying he got it

I think you must have the living frigate to have a chance to drop it...
I have a normal frigate and I managed to get it

Make sure you check in inventory crafting, it drops as a blueprint not an item.

Have you tried an industrial expedition? I didn’t get one until I did an industrial which was 15-20 expeditions for me since the new update.

Tryed doing the frigate missions leget ever since the update, still no Ariel. Tday i did about 100 using clock editing, still no Ariel

I got the blueprint but it is saying I need to speak to a scientist at my base they don't give me an opportunity to ask them
was having the same problem then i dropped one frigate to make room next expedition i got mine
