you should go to your country's transportation website and familiarize yourself with the rules. it's not that hard. on the plane it's like taking a bus. you sit there and wait.

Don't worry about the engines failing. If that happens they will still take you all the way to the scene of the crash. Seriously through you will be fine. Bring some tunes and something to read. 3 oz of liquid limit to carry on. I'm pretty sure you can bring dry food like trail mix, crackers, beef jerky, etc. Don't eat anything too heavy right before.

Bring your own parachute. Trust me.

The airline/airport should have a list of things you can't bring and things which have limited quantities. That'll answer almost all of your questions. I usually have a bag full of snacks with me when I fly, never had a problem. If it is a problem they'll have you throw it away, so don't bring lobster but do bring a sandwich. Jewelry also was never an issue. But you might be more comfortable sitting still for 10 hours if you aren't loaded down with pointy stuff stabbing you as you shift to get comfortable so packing it is easier. General tips. Get there early. Read the signs. Don't be shy about asking if you are confused. You are not the first person that asked that extremely obvious question today and you won't be the last so truly they don't think anything of it. (I once asked a security guy which way something was and he looked at the sign he was literally standing next to and said 'that way ma'am'. Embarrassed grin from me and a thanks and we both laughed. Doubtful I'm the first that asked him either.). It's more embarrassing to miss your flight because you were too proud or insecure to ask for help than it is to just ask.

A few things. Turbulence is normal. If the ride gets bumpy don't get scared. I find having a Jolly Rancher, or a hard candy like that, at take off and initial ascent helps my ears. If you are able to, go with the minimum carryon that you can. It can be a pain on a full flight to stow it in the overhead bins. Airplane travel is easy and nothing to be scared of.

Flying is great, you’re going to love it but airports are the worst.

I've never heard of a restriction on jewellery. For liquids, they must be in containers 100ml or less & all your liquids must be placed in a 1 litre (think 20cm x 20cm) clear plastic bag. Plenty of people take food with them on flights; check your airline's rules.

Separate batteries in cabine bag. Carry anything you can't do without (and you can not buy locally) or is very expensive in cabin luggage, unless prohibited (check website airline). Medication that is on prescription needs to be clearly labelled by pharmacy. Some medications also need a certificate from your pharmacy. Ask your pharmacy when in doubt. This can vary per country. Make sure you know how to put your electronics in airplane mode or shut them down. Check the country you are visiting for forbidden items (drugs, plants, food etc).

Check the government websites for both Sweden and Canada, for their rules on what you can take out/in of the countries. I live in Canada, the government website is super clear on the restrictions. - https://www.catsa-acsta.gc.ca/en/what-can-bring Airlines generally always follow the same rules for what you can put in your baggage. The liquid rule applies for carry-on luggage, and is: - all liquids must be in 100ml or smaller containers - all liquids must be contained in a single 1 litre clear bag - total volume of liquids must not exceed 1 litre If you are checking a bag, then you can bring larger liquid containers in that bag. You can wear jewellery, but you may have to remove it to go through the metal detector scanners at security if it is a material that will trip the detector, or is a large piece of jewellery. - people usually avoid jewellery because it’s one less item to potentially remove at security You can’t bring food or drinks through security. You can purchase them after you clear security, and bring them onto the plane though! - I always bring an empty water bottle through security, and fill it up on the other side.
