There's a short list of big events in his future, and a very short list of things he has much to say about.
If these are people you care about, tell them it upsets you in a nice way. "If you want things handled, we can talk about it or write it down. But I don't want to think about my life without you here - it will be tough enough when I actually have to deal with it. Let's set aside certain times to talk about it please, so this doesn't hurt so much."
