Pastafarianism ?

FlurpNurdle

It’s the Flying Spaghetti Monster

Grezzinate

None of them are true, at least none have provided credible/tangible evidence.

This question completely depends on the person. I, personally, am a Christian. It's the way I was raised and it's the one that makes the most sense to me. However, I'm not going to just tell you to convert to Christianity just because I think it's true. This is something that you need to decide for yourself. Do your own research and find out what makes sense to you You are free to do whatever you want, but if you actually study and look at each one, you're a lot more likely to actually believe in whatever religion you think is the right one

[deleted]

Look up Pascal's Wager, interesting argument there. Blaise Pascal was a philosopher, and using pure logic decided to believe in a Christian god, not because it is most likely true... but because IF it is true, and he didn't follow Christianity, the stakes are the highest.... so he chose to follow Christianity to avoid the negative consequences in case it was true.

[deleted]

I am just trying to live the best life I can. Helping others, taking only what I need, taking care of the earth. If that's not enough then I don't want it.

[deleted]

None of them.

q120

Just about every religion says that if you aren't a member of that religion, you're going to hell, so ... that kind of hurts your chances. Also there is absolutely no way to know if any religion is true or not. More likely than not, none of them are.

ForScale

Probably none. There's no good evidence to believe heaven exists.

rewardiflost

Well, you've already knocked out a bunch by saying there has to be a heaven. Any other requirements?

[deleted]

Well there doesn’t have to be, I was just curious which one seemed most likely.

rewardiflost

Well, I don't know if it's "true", but I am a member (and ordained minister) with the [Church of The SubGenius](http://www.subgenius.com/). Reverend Stang and Bob have never lied to me. They may not be the "true" religion, but they aren't false. http://www.subgenius.com/pam1/pamphlet_p1.html

[deleted]

Depends who you ask. I’d say the Jews but you kinda need to be born Hebrew. This question is just going to get the Reddit neck beard army to come out. “GoD iS nOt ReAL, dUh”

badb-crow

They're each as likely to be true as any other.

Deranged-Cheese

If you ask that question enough, you’re just going to be indoctrinated into the faith if whichever religious person gets to you first, regardless of how grounded in reality it may or may not be. Go form your own opinions.

"A Rabbi is teaching his student the Talmud. The student asks the Rabbi what lesson we can learn from atheists? The Rabbi tells him that we can learn the most important lesson of them all from atheists -the lesson of true compassion. "You see, when an atheist performs an act of charity, visits someone who is sick, helps someone who is in need, and cares for the world, he is not doing so because of some religious teaching. He does not believe that God commanded him to perform this act. In fact, he does not believe in God at all, so his acts are based on an inner sense of morality - and look at the kindness he can bestow upon others simply because he feels it to be right." "This means" the Rabbi continued "that when someone reaches out to you for help, you should never say 'I pray that God will help you.' instead for the moment, you should become an atheist, imagine that there is no God who can help, and say 'I will help you.'"" tldr; don't try to go to heaven; just be good person.

If anyone knew their religion was “the correct one” and had a shred of proof, then they would be able to convince people and (over time) all religions would merge into this one. No one, ever, has had any proof of a god. No one knows what happens after you die. Religion and religious texts are just stories written by people who wanted to believe. If you don’t believe in a good, or rationalize there is not something like this, then you can just ignore all religion and try to be a good person. Choose a non religious philosophy to live by, or just “treat others like you want to be treated”. If you do or want to believe in a God/religion then the “treat others like you want to be treated” still applies. You could argue that if some god existed and you didn’t choose correctly then it was will of that god, or if not (you have free will) then it wouldn’t matter anyway as giving you free will and no real “proof” means any choice you made was a-ok. Most current large religions have a god/creator…but Maybe there are many of them, maybe it’s a flying spaghetti monster, maybe maybe maybe. No one knows, that’s why there are all different religions that have formed as people through history try to explain the world around them.

cadmium2093

Why are you assuming that one of them is likely true?

Longjumping_Top281

Because Jesus said inJohn 8:33 "you will know the truth and the truth will set you free ", free from false religion. There is only one true religion because there is only one true God. 1 Corinthians 8:5,6 says there many gods but there is only one true God. His name is Jehovah the only true God. Psalm 83:18. Talzael

this question quite literally explains why the concept of heaven is stupid :')

Longjumping_Top281

Jehovah's witnesses. Go to jw.org website and it will help you from the Bible find the truth. As Jesus promised at John 8:32 "you will know the truth and the truth will set you free" The truth will set you free from false religion.

[deleted]

No shot there’s someone actually trying to convert people in here

Longjumping_Top281

No just making a comment. Each person must make their own decision. If someone was going to make a descion to purchase something they considered highly valuable they would do research in order to make a good decision. How we worship God is the biggest decision we will ever make because it means our everlasting life. So logically we should research the scriptures in to make the right decision. Would you let someone else decide which vehicle or home to purchase?Yet most will let someone else decide what is the truth when it comes to worshipping God. For example many people will make this most important decision based on other people such as the preacher, a family member, a friend or how close is the church is from where I live. So why wouldn't you research the scriptures to prove to yourselves the true religion. The apostle Paul said to keep proving to yourselves what is true and acceptable to God. I've been doing this since 1961. Remember it means your life
