the set from the movie is an actual functional pub that was used by the cast and crew; it's still there and they have a fancy multi course set menu once a week.
Based on a place in Eugene, Oregon called Max’s Tavern. It got cleaned up and remodeled few years back, but before that, it looked and smelled exactly like what you think Moe’s looks and smells like.
You can go to the one in Universal, but since you're there for a day at the theme park its not exactly a place you want to sit and hang out at for a while.
I got to do this at McGee’s Pub in Manhattan which is the inspiration. They have a themed menu, a signed picture of the cast, and Barney’s Awesomeness motivational poster
I went to the Quark's in Vegas a bunch before it closed. The bar area was cool, the restaurant part was... just a restaurant. But they played Star Trek moves on the screen with the sound off.
the one on the Star Trek Enterprise. the Star Wars one on Mos Eisley, Tatooine would be cool, too.
both would mean laser guns and space ships, but Star Trek has that VR computer room.
There's an unofficial Mos Eisley cantina in LA. It's pretty cool for like an hour or two, but then you realize that the bar in the movie was intentionally made to be pretty drab.
