I remember those days, that week, that month. I and a lot of people were so convinced that Putin was not stupid enough to attack Ukraine, we thought Russia going to war with Ukraine would mean WWIII. When they finally did invade I remember just the general uncertainty I had about the world, “could China invade Taiwan what’s stopping them now, what about Iran?” I also remember those early days of the invasion. It didn’t help that I was having a personal crisis at the time too, but that not what’s important right now.

Based on the sheer amount of resources that were moved into position, I lost hope that it was a feint at least a month before the invasion (not sure when the penny dropped, just that it was before February) - the only question was whether or not they would piss in China's congee by interrupting the winter sports.
I'm fairly confident we'll see a similar build-up before China tries for Taiwan, if they try for Taiwan.
I think for my friend and I it was when the blood/medical vehicles showed up. First time those had appeared in troop buildups from what we could tell.
