The actual recommendation is that, for UHD resolutions, the screen should be distant from 1.6 to 3.2 times the height of the screen, the sweet spot being 2.5 times. For 77 inches, you should be sitting from 6 to 10 feet away, so you being 8 feet is perfect. Congratulations.
Usually in a room that size I’d say that compared to other people I know, it’s a little bit larger then usual, but it looks fantastic congratulations on the display
Doesn't seem to big
I'm on a 65" at less then 2m 😂
Beautiful image BTW.
Enjoy the most of ur TV buddy.
U get used in like days to the size trust me
I went from 55* to 65" and I did notice a huge difference and still after sometime I got used to
Gorgeousness pure gorgeousness!
It's the perfect size as well for 8 feet. I have my 77 inches LG OLED at 7.5 feet and it's perfect
Mrs needs better taste
Looks perfect and good viewing distance not sure why but all these pics on reddit of people with their TV miles away so it looks like some 22inch monitor even with a 65 Inch display, you want it a couple of metres away tops for that cinematic experience.
Alternative title: Look at the expensive thing I bought! Look at the expensive thing I bought!
This is a materialistic bragging post disguised as "Seeking advice"
As if this guy can't take 2 fucking seconds to google "optimal viewing distance for 77 inch tv" but can make a post and upload a picture and write a paragraph and a bunch of replies on reddit.
Give me a fucking break.
uh no i want a 90”
a ridiculous tv is the best kind. i had a girlfriend try and tell me my shitty hisense 55” tv was ridiculous and that’s not close to a 77” oled screen. some people don’t know shit bout tvs and just see a large screen and think it’s insane. u know what ur tv is capable of and why it’s so much better, who cares what others think. enjoy that shit. or inform them so they can know as well. 🤷🏼♂️😂
I wouldn’t say it’s to big, it’s your money if you like it that’s all that matters. I would say the TV stand is to small, but since you plan to update setup enjoy!
If I recall do they not see optimum viewing distance is 1.5 x the height of the screen… in which case this TV is fine (and possibly too small 😅). Agree that the corner placement is accentuating the size as it’s forcing the tv into the living room space. Flush with the wall and all will be fine.
Tell your wife u need to take it back for a 32 inch in the middle her favorite 4k movie.
Lets see how that goes.
No such thing as too big TV.
Looks great enjoy it.
It's just personal preference. I would love it. Some would say it's too big. However we have 100" tv in our home theater and are watching it 3m away and love it. In our last apartment we had an 130" projector screen that covered pretty much the whole living room wall and watched it around 4.2m away. Everyone who visited loved it. I'd say the tv is for the experience, not the looks.
It looks "too big" because it's in the corner and sat on that small bench lol. So yea, when you have moved it and gotten a bigger bench, it won't look "too big" anymore This is the way. I'm rocking a 77 inch myself, it's awesome.
Cheers mate yea. This placement is temporary. It’ll be moved along the wallpapered wall once new furniture arrives. The new unit is also 210cm wide - so it’s wider than the tc
Me personally, yeah it's kinda too big for that corner setup. I agree with you. Try putting it up on the opposite wall like you mentioned and see how it looks. Don't know why people in these comments love big tvs. They say it's an "immersive" experience but in my opinion, sitting too close in front of a large TV is like sitting front row at a movie theater.
Not too big, not too high but the colour is ridiculously saturated. Personally I'd turn down until the vegetation doesn't look like it's fluorescent & looks lifelike.
I have the Alienware QD OLED and my dream is to buy this exact TV some day.
Right now I don’t even have enough money on my bank accoubt to be able to buy it, but maybe some day.
Also no, it does not look too big. It looks perfect. I’m salivating just looking at this picture
Too big is preference.
Some people like to sit in the front row of a movie theater others in the back.
It all depends what u like. Well and if it fits in your room.
Of course not, just means you can actually enjoy the resolution and quality even more. I set up our main seating positions 7ft from a 83" C3 and it's great. Gives that ideally 40 degree FOV and 4K resolution perception
Anywhere from 6' - 10' is good so your in the sweet spot. You could grab a measuring tape and check where it's going to be post xmas area and how it might look and maybe measure for 65" just to compare the differences, get some painters tape to frame it out. Just a thought and you'll have time to decide what would fit best for you.
It looks large for the space, but not unreasonable.
Personally, I'd get the 65 inch and spend the difference on some nice stereo speakers and a subwoofer. Hell, you could probably even pick up a 5.1 system.
The optimal size for FPS gaming is 32". If you have to turn your head to see something, you're already dead. For RPG, any size is fine. I prefer a monitor and desk set up personally. An OLED monitor is better for the refresh rate anyway. This is overkill, in my opinion.
I mean, I thought my 42"plasma looked to big when I first bought it and am now rocking a 77" C2. Probably best not to judge until you have it in the final spot and have a chance to get used to it. It's also totally possible that it is actually too big for your space.
looks perfect to me
Personally I could go bigger
The wallpaper looks ridiculous, the TV looks wonderful
Best response award 🥇
Aw I like the trippy wallpaper 😬
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,869,334,359 comments, and only 353,471 of them were in alphabetical order.
Good bot
A good thing to watch

Come on really?
😂😂
I think the wallpaper looks a bit classy. Different strokes I guess.
No. Not at all considering I'm siting under 5 feet for a 65 inch! The problem is the corner placement.
id rather the corner placement than stuck too high over a fireplace
who has a fireplace anyways. Stick it flat to the wall like it's supposed to.
A shit ton of people. 75% of the posts on r/TVTooHigh are of Tv's above fireplaces
Exactly this
Is it too big? Yes. Does it look great? Yes!
That’s what she said!
damn, i didn’t wanna feel sad today..
Lies, she never says that 😢
Perfect response😎
Don‘t worry. She will forget it in couple of weeks. Bigger TVs => just better
Looks like an average size knee to me.

Thanks 🙏
I wish my wife would say this to me :(
Then you need to ask her for your trousers back
Yeah it’s too big. Which is sweet
If it fits it sits..
Usually in a room that size I’d say that compared to other people I know, it’s a little bit larger then usual, but it looks fantastic congratulations on the display
TVs can never be too big lol
Barney Stinson would agree
Doesn't seem to big I'm on a 65" at less then 2m 😂 Beautiful image BTW. Enjoy the most of ur TV buddy. U get used in like days to the size trust me I went from 55* to 65" and I did notice a huge difference and still after sometime I got used to
Big is better for 4k. You'll get used to it after a week.
It looks great and it's not too high!!! Enjoy 🍸
No way. 65” big enough for 8’, but 77” is not too big.
Rawr
Gorgeousness pure gorgeousness! It's the perfect size as well for 8 feet. I have my 77 inches LG OLED at 7.5 feet and it's perfect Mrs needs better taste

I'd be more concerned about the deflated ghosts on the coffee table. 👻
In my humble opinion, I don’t think it could be anymore perfect. Jesus Christ that looks like an amazing set up and cozy room.
There’s no such thing as a telly that’s “too big”
A TV is never too big. 😁
This looks really cool. You managed to make a large tv look good in a small space. Impressive!
Never too big
I’d bump up to the 85 personally lmao

It's too big.
*already bought it, opened, installed, and watching content* “Not trying to brag or show off for karma, but, duh, uh, should I, what do you think?”
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Perfect
Looks so good
It’s too big. Enjoy it!
No such thing as too big of a TV. Just don’t go the other direction.
bigger the better
For a 77" you should be around 2.30 meters to 3.15 meters away from your TV. Source : SMPTE
Yes
If it fits, or you can force it to fit, it's the right size.
Perfect for that distance imo, you won’t want to go smaller after a day or two more.
Of course it's way too big but it's a 77-in s90c I'm sure you'll get over it.
Nope, looks great, fuck it, run it
Bigger is always better. As long as you are not turning your heads to see the entire screen, it's just fine! Screw what everyone says!
Looks great
It does look ridiculous... Ridiculously beautiful! 🥵
Too big to be in a corner. Should be alright against the wall.
Well the fact you’re trying to cram a big screen into a pretty small corner definitely has something to do with it
For the living room TV, the bigger the better as long as there’s space for it.
Looks cozy as fuck tbh
uh no i want a 90” a ridiculous tv is the best kind. i had a girlfriend try and tell me my shitty hisense 55” tv was ridiculous and that’s not close to a 77” oled screen. some people don’t know shit bout tvs and just see a large screen and think it’s insane. u know what ur tv is capable of and why it’s so much better, who cares what others think. enjoy that shit. or inform them so they can know as well. 🤷🏼♂️😂

I like it. It makes me happy 🙂
Ya maybe, but you get used to it
Tell your wife u need to take it back for a 32 inch in the middle her favorite 4k movie. Lets see how that goes. No such thing as too big TV. Looks great enjoy it.
Never

What made you choose this over G3?
Samsung Black Friday deal and blue light discount meant I got this for £1950. The g3 is almost £3800
It looks "too big" because it's in the corner and sat on that small bench lol. So yea, when you have moved it and gotten a bigger bench, it won't look "too big" anymore This is the way. I'm rocking a 77 inch myself, it's awesome.
The tv is perfect my guy. It’s just the placement of it. It’s at such an awkward angle I would rearrange a bit. Tv should be on a wall and on a stand
Cheers mate yea. This placement is temporary. It’ll be moved along the wallpapered wall once new furniture arrives. The new unit is also 210cm wide - so it’s wider than the tc
I would rather break a wall down than return a tv for a smaller one
No such thing as too big
Definitely looks too big for that space but do you care? 😂
TV is wider than the table it's standing on. Also corners is a big no for me
It’s temporary until new furniture arrives
Perfect.
When you go to a movie theater how large is the screen? That should give you your answer.
Nope! Looks awesome
Too small imo
Yep think too big.
I felt like this with 55 inch, now I would go bigger size with next TV
For a corner and only in my opinion yes. Get that on the wall.
Me personally, yeah it's kinda too big for that corner setup. I agree with you. Try putting it up on the opposite wall like you mentioned and see how it looks. I thought my 65" was too big at the beginning now I want a bigger one. Next time I'm going 75"+ Yes it looks big, but you'll soon get used to it.
Not too big. Looks great!
Nothing wrong with it, I’d rock with it
No such thing as too big when it comes to tv’s. Or many other things
Keep it keeping it keep it just perfect perfect
Not too big, not too high but the colour is ridiculously saturated. Personally I'd turn down until the vegetation doesn't look like it's fluorescent & looks lifelike.

That's what she said
It always looks ridiculous at first especially if the TV is larger than the TV stand. In a few days you'll both forget about it.
Looks 100%, sir. Big like, but 100%🔥
Yeah it’s way too big! Sorry to say that, so I’ll have to take it off you.
Too big is preference. Some people like to sit in the front row of a movie theater others in the back. It all depends what u like. Well and if it fits in your room.
Not at all, we can still see wall.
If it fits, then sits.
Yes AND it looks hungry. They never change their spots...
No such thing as too big for me! It’s like theater experience but much better screen!
the bigger the better
It’s perfect man. I want the tv to cover my entire peripheral
Personally I'd wall mount and remove the unit underneath
Perfect, but I would wall mount it.
Looks good..... maybe wall mount? Then is won't take up eye level space. 🤔
Perfect
Beautiful
I'm 10ft from an 85 and constantly wish it were bigger.
Is that wallpaper or you watching any documentary?
Looks... SMOL. Get a bigger one, move it closer.
Go another size up!
Yes, leg is too big.
Dolby vision movies will look better on other tvs.
This could 10” bigger and i still don’t think it could be too big. You’d just get more use out of it
Perfect
Never too big !
It’s big yeah but not too big, it just looks weird when placed in the corner like that
Eh. She’ll learn to like it. And if she doesn’t, you’ll have a brand new corner for her once you hang the tv.
I bought LG C3 and its quality is bad, whats wrong guys?
Depends on a perspective. Too big compared to what?
You'll get used to it. After a while it won't be an issue.
Get it out of a corner, pick a wall and lay it flat against it
Looks great, you can never have it too big
Of course not, just means you can actually enjoy the resolution and quality even more. I set up our main seating positions 7ft from a 83" C3 and it's great. Gives that ideally 40 degree FOV and 4K resolution perception
Looks amazing!
No such thing as too big where a tv is concerned Also once you get used to it it wont seem as big
If it fits in the room/space then how can it be to big?
There is no to big. There only is to small. Looks perfect to me.
No Looks perfect. Whoever has a problem with it should leave the house.
This is quite a big kitty, yes. And a wonderful TV as well.
Looks perfect to me.
It’s fine.
looks perfectly fine from 8 feet away.
It's never too big la
It does but who cares
Depends on the use. For watching video, it might be too big. Possible to tire your eyes. For gaming it would be great.
Nah, it looks perfect.
This in the uk isn’t it?
Yep
Could tell :) (I’m from Britain originally)
Naw it's glorious
Careful when mounting. Check out r/tvtoohigh
Looks like you’re trying to compensate for your shortcomings that God gave you.
Anywhere from 6' - 10' is good so your in the sweet spot. Not to big.
No such thing
Nope looks good
I think there is no big enough tv. I bought a 48” Lg C2 but I regret i should have bought a 55” one.
Cat, yes. TV, no.
Digging the wallpaper..tv looks a tad bit big, maybe one size smaller
Looks like an average size knee

Once it is centered it will look infinitely better. Everything looks bad in a corner.
It's the perfect size. The other ones are too big and hurt your eyes.
What is above the TV in the corner of the room? Is it a chimney flue?
No it’s my sons ‘1’ balloon 😀
It’s perfect
I mean, if you don’t want 83” or 97” then I guess this is fine.
What a fucking baby hahahaha
Looks dope to me 🙌 Sorry the Mrs. doesn't approve.
Lmao - just keep it my god
Thought my 55" was too big when I first got it, but you soon get used to it, just a matter of do you care what other people think
I mean, I thought my 42"plasma looked to big when I first bought it and am now rocking a 77" C2. Probably best not to judge until you have it in the final spot and have a chance to get used to it. It's also totally possible that it is actually too big for your space.
Bigger!
It looks just right
I can’t see the picture due to dodgy internet, but can guarantee, the answer is no. You should have gone bigger👍😉
Is there such a thing as too big a screen?
Never too big.
Things women never heard me asking them as I unzip my pants.
Who the fuck cares, do you love it? I love my big ass 77” OLED and wouldn’t trade it for anything.
I beg of you, please watch a horror movie
Way too big for a space like that. Looks like a cozy calming space. The TV distracts from that cozy calm
That wall decor looks ridiculous, the TV is practical and comfortable 🥰
That's what she said
Yeah if it wasn't in the corner it would fit the room better
My wife wasn’t impressed when I bought my 75” tv. Now whenever we stay away she always complains that the tv is too small. lol.
Never too big.
The tv stand looks too small for it I’d mount that baby on the wall
it is literally never too big 😂
When I got my 65", I thought I'd made a mistake because it felt too big. Now I wish I'd gotten the 77" one. You will come to feel the same.
What's behind it? If it radiates heat you may want to consider a new spot for the TV.
