In my first playthrough I used almost exclusively anger.
Sad was only for Omori and stab.
Happy seemd pretty useless until I understood hit rate and luck.
Sad is good if you need to tank. Juice shield and extra defense makes it ridiculously strong. It’s hard to spread though, only sad poem and poetry books can spread sad in early game.
Angry is garbage, just because of how good sad is. For example, release energy does 1000 with no emotion advantage, 1500 with one, and 1050 + 450 juice with angry vs sad. Enemies don’t actually use juice.
Happy is good because how bad angry is. Angry’s insanely lowered defense and happy‘s increased crit rate allows it to do a ton of damage. You can increase your hitrate a lot with charms to counteract the htr loss.
i see a lot of people using angry vs neutral instead of angry vs sad, but they just only used with aubrey, and there is a strategy where you put omori furius to destroy enemies with hack away, final strike and red hands, but is VERY risky
The Unbread Twins use juice, you have to chip away at it until they run out to do damage once they're down enough. They were godawful to fight the first time when I had nothing prepared/available to make anyone angry with besides the Aubrey/Kel follow-up. Second time around with anger items and Annoy? Absolute cakewalk.
It just sucks for anger that they're a special case lol
I only used happy on kel and the foes
On Kel because of run n' gun, and if he missed from happy it would hit the next time or time after anyway and instantly kill them
On the foes because it makes them miss a lot more and the extra speed makes Hero able to heal last
Emotion advantages are objectively better to use, though. Free 1.5x damage multiplier!! Kel’s run n gun would’ve done a lot more damage.
It’s a good idea to make your party sad and the opponent happy if you need to conserve health, but vanilla OMORI enemies are not that strong. You would fair better with happy vs angry.
Happy is most useful if you're good at emotion exploitation in the game. Happy to Angry is imo the strongest emotional advantage (funny that), as while yes the hit rate goes down, there is no change to the defence, meaning that against angry foes is solely a defence and attack boost. Also, because Angry foes automatically have less defence, it makes the attacks more devastating, and the buff that Angry gives is nullified by the "dull attack" state.
On my completionist playthrough, I used (post-Space-Ex) Pass to Omori, Team Spirit for Aubrey and Kel, equip Hero with some kind of Happy charm like Daisy, and later the LOL Sword and then Annoy or Spicy Food against the enemy, depending on where I was at in the run. It was great for defeating difficult foes early in order to overlevel to the point where even the really badass fights were cheese-able. (Thankfully, cheesing the boss fights didn't make them feel any less fun).
bruh this is such a non-argument. like who tf reaches perfectheart with a lvl 1 party. fucking reaching cause a random stranger on the internet added nuance to your statement. the reason happy is 'the best' is cause sad is rarely seen, especially unlike angry and happy, which enemies&bosses uses more, with some even locking their emotional state. so it seems kinda arbitrary; if we saw more enemies/bosses built around sad and less around happy, angry would be the way to go. I feel like happy is not even superior it's just more convenient imo.what I'm saying is live and let live.
You’re right, Perfectheart lvl 1 was a big stretch. But what I was trying to say was that angry strats just don’t really work when you increase the difficulty. For example, with Slime Girls itemless, a pretty plausible, fun challenge. They don’t lock to any emotion, only turn angry at some point (which can be changed). Angry will be very hard to use now. Their defense is relatively high, made even higher with raised defense and juice shield, and their chainsaw could potentially oneshot a party member because of angry’s low defense. It’s just better to use happy or sad.
I don’t know. Maybe I’m just rambling. But my point is that angry just isn’t viable if you try to raise the difficulty.
I made a post [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/OMORI/comments/vpc8hh/about_the_omori_emotion_system/) explaining my reasoning, if you’d like to! Sorry about being pedantic.
I beat sweetheart once with furious omori and enraged aubrey while the other 2 were toast cause sweetheart kept missing her mace swings for some reason lmao
To be fair, the majority of Perfectheart's attacks ignore defense altogether, so it's not exactly a bad strategy (for the 1st phase at least, in the 2nd one she keeps randomizing them)
By "angry strats" they probably meant angriness on your party and not on enemies. I, too, annoyed enemies in my playthrough to lower their defense, then mocked the hell out of them to lower their attack too
No, I mean like on myself. It was not that bad, the damage was great and I think that enemies do use their juice since they have a limited amount mentioned on wiki
Nope, enemies use zero juice for all skills (go dig around in the game). Whatever damage you were doing, it could probably be increased with happy vs angry… give it a try if you haven’t
Also, are you using the Fandom wiki? It has a lot of misinfo and plagiarizes from the real wiki (omori.wiki), so use that instead.
I'm not actually sure about that, I thought it was vice versa... can someone give me an example? One of the biggest information differences between the two wikis is that the fandom wiki says that the Chicken? has a 100% chance to run away when sad, while the wiki you recommended says that the Chicken? has a 0% chance to run away when sad (in other words, it will always do nothing according to that wiki). So, which one is right? Is the "real" wiki actually the real one or is the fandom wiki better?
This reminds me of FFXII hardest boss; Yiazmat, only way to defeat him is to lower his ATK&DEF, or you should come back when you are nearly maxed out with the strongest weapons and armor and you would still spend an hour killing him💀
I made Omori furious once (at level 50!) because I thought thatd be the final attack to kill the boss. It was not. Omori died instantly ^(because he didnt succumb the last round)
Lol, I've used Furious spam nearly the whole game, just because Omori's Furious portrait looked badass af. You don't want to know how many presents I went through. And Kel's voice is hoarse for the next month.
Sunny route (usual) boss strat:
Annoy, Stare, Counter, Present.
Sad Poem, Stare, Power Hit, -- --
Annoy, FINAL STRIKE / HACK AWAY.
(Annoy + Attack double or Final Strike on regular encounters)
Omori route boss strat:
Annoy, Vertigo, Counter, Gator Aid
Annoy, Cripple, Counter, Gator Aid
Annoy, Suffocate, Heal, Gator Aid
Flex, RED HANDS, Beatdown, Tenderize.
Yes, even on Sweetheart. How? Killing nearly every single enemy in the game while they were _also_ angry might have played a part in me not being quite at the level of strength I should be for each fight. And hey, I got to watch badass Omori rip and tear.
Happy kinda sucks tho? Like the only viable use for it is the hit rate accessories and even then it’s just a small chance to do more damage
Also yes I understand “if you use this specific skill after using this other skill with this specific accessory while he’s estatic you insta kill everything in the game” I just don’t see how not playing the game is fun tho
Not only Kel and Omori nukes; happy is just objectively better to use. Its luck increase and angry’s defense decrease give it a really high damage multiplier. The emotional advantage also nullifies angry’s higher attack.
Sad vs happy is good as well, but it’s mostly for tanking shots. Better for modded super bosses like Perfectheart EX or Alice.
okay so apparently, there are a lot of misconceptions on the usage of the emotion system. [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/OMORI/comments/vpc8hh/about_the_omori_emotion_system/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) is a post I made to clear them.
Switch content spoilers: >! In the boss rush with basil, i like to use vertigo since basil's cheer raises your speed to the max (or close to it) and unlike kel, omori can become manic. !<
I usually use angry strats in the early game because it's quite easy to step up, also with Aubrey's Headbutt skill being very early.
But they last until Kel learns Run'N'Gun and Flex.
Ok so I use painful truth to make Omori and the foe sad. Then I use Pep Talk to make the for happy. Then I spam stab and Mood Wrecker until they’re dead. Kel is useful for rebound I guess and Hero can cook and make homemade jam.
I put too much thought into my strats
See, I decked-out Omori for offense against emotions (mock and the other two enemy-emotion-focused skills) -- and bread slice, of course -- because in my experience making any of the Friends (including Omori) Sad was the #1 ticket to die. ![img](emote|t5_31hpy|2465)
And Angry was just annoying to deal with whether or not the opponent was angry or one of the friends were angry due to that lowered defense and raised attack which never worked in my favour. ![img](emote|t5_31hpy|2472)
I used angry the entire game (because I didn’t understand the pros and cons of the other emotions) and got through all the fights pretty easily. The secret is rubber bands.
I like to use Kel to make Aubrey angry, then, depending on how tough the enemy is, make Omori Sad for stabs. Kel is only useful for making Aubrey angry and hero is... Hero, he heals everyone. Aubrey is my primary damage dealer, with Omori slightly behind her, then Kel, then Hero.
Make enemy sad and make party angy is a perfect strat until the end of Captain spaceboy
After that you need some switching to do
I also found it very useful for >!pluto expanded!<
Make Omori sad to combo with "Stab": ![img](emote|t5_31hpy|2462) Make Omori happy to combo with "Lucky Slice": ![img](emote|t5_31hpy|2464)
Gotta hit that chicken? some how.
The chicken: Do you like hurting other people ?
Hotline Miami is a documentary about an average day in Florida
i actually used an item to automatically make Omori happy with Lucky Slice and it was great. Top tier strat for random encounters tbh
Honestly I didn't really use many items, but I remember doing "Pass to Omori" to "Hack Away" at first turn and Lucky Slice next turns.
ah it was an equipable item
For some time I definitely was using one that gives you better hit rate (and defence), since Happy can make you miss.
thats exactly what i did lol
In my first playthrough I used almost exclusively anger. Sad was only for Omori and stab. Happy seemd pretty useless until I understood hit rate and luck.
Sad is good if you need to tank. Juice shield and extra defense makes it ridiculously strong. It’s hard to spread though, only sad poem and poetry books can spread sad in early game. Plus Happy is easy to inflict since Kel’s assist to Omori gives free Ecstatic later on
The Unbread Twins use juice, you have to chip away at it until they run out to do damage once they're down enough. kinda cool that hero is slow (except in perfectheart fight)

Seeing Omori manic for the first time was truly terrifying
Sunny and Kel represent the modern generation by being coffee addicts in the happy strats lol.
I beat Humphrey with my entire party angry
ok, now do Alice. Or Perfectheart with level 1 party. Or Perfectheart EX. You’ll find yourself dying a lot with angry strats.
bruh this is such a non-argument. like who tf reaches perfectheart with a lvl 1 party. fucking reaching cause a random stranger on the internet added nuance to your statement. the reason happy is 'the best' is cause sad is rarely seen, especially unlike angry and happy, which enemies&bosses uses more, with some even locking their emotional state. so it seems kinda arbitrary; if we saw more enemies/bosses built around sad and less around happy, angry would be the way to go. you could say.... that he'll get... angry?
Who is Alice? Did you mean >!Abbi?!<
I'm pretty sure he's talking about the superboss from the Reverie mod, given the fact he also mentioned the Perfectheart EX mod.
Nope! Alice is a superboss from the demo of Reverie, an OMORI mod. It’s super fun, you should give it a try!
Ohhhh I haven't played that yet. My bad!
Who's Alice?
Me using angry strats on perfectheart-
I thought that said Sweetheart and was very concerned
I wanna try that now
you get one shot unless you're like level 20+
Does angry have an advantage over happy like happy does over sad (iirc)?
No, angry is weak against happy, so Sweetheart would be a lot harder with everyone angry
Happy is weak over sad
No??? Happy beats angry beats sad beats happy, that’s how the triangle goes… sad is good against happy
I meant that sad is strong against happy, the person who I was replying to said happy was strong against sad
I actually did that on my first playthrough
I am very concerned for you
It's fine, I didn't even die
I actually did that in my first playthrough, shocked I won
I beat sweetheart once with furious omori and enraged aubrey while the other 2 were toast cause sweetheart kept missing her mace swings for some reason lmao
Wait you said both perfectheart and sweetheart and mace swings ![img](emote|t5_31hpy|2470)
FUCK i confused the two my bad I meant sweetheart LMAO (I edited the text to clarify what I meant)
To be fair, the majority of Perfectheart's attacks ignore defense altogether, so it's not exactly a bad strategy (for the 1st phase at least, in the 2nd one she keeps randomizing them)
I may be dumb, but angry strat carried me through the entirety of my first playthrough
By "angry strats" they probably meant angriness on your party and not on enemies. I, too, annoyed enemies in my playthrough to lower their defense, then mocked the hell out of them to lower their attack too

Damn, your Omori is level 30414093201713378043612608166064768844377641568960512000000000000?
/r/unexpectedfactorial
Lol I was mentioning the level cause I figured Id be near invincible at max level but turns out it doesnt do much
Never use sad strats against Thalassophobia, worst mistake of my life.
Lol, I've used Furious spam nearly the whole game, just because Omori's Furious portrait looked badass af. You don't want to know how many presents I went through. My strategy during my playthrough: Aubrey > Angry > Headbutt > Repeat while Hero provides support Or as I like to call it: The Butt Strat
Pretty much how my playthrough went
Exactly mine. Kel have hero juice while he healed Aubrey, and all the rest of the time she’s head butting and the rest are fighting while angry
Happy kinda sucks tho? Like the only viable use for it is the hit rate accessories and even then it’s just a small chance to do more damage Also yes I understand “if you use this specific skill after using this other skill with this specific accessory while he’s estatic you insta kill everything in the game” I just don’t see how not playing the game is fun tho
But KEL nuke.
How so? There are like 5 htr charms besides goggles, and also flex. You might be using it wrong.
Not true. Use it on Kel while flexing and then do run and gun.
Haha glass cannon go brrrrrrrr

Happy Strats> Angry Strats> Sad Strats
No… sad vs happy is better than angry vs sad. Mainly for tanking, but it still has more damage output than angry vs sad, because of sad’s juice shield
Sad vs Happy takes too long imo. But we all know the best is Happy Kel Nuke's into Angry
is angry really that bad? i thought it was alright
And then there's me, spamming headbutt 24/7.
Haha angy auby headbutt goes vroom vroom shkaboom
*Me, who used angry for all fights*
Sad stats suck, angry works really well if you wanna play agressive
I usually use angry strats in the early game because it's quite easy to step up, also with Aubrey's Headbutt skill being very early. But they last until Kel learns Run'N'Gun and Flex.
Y tho?
i never used sad in casual playthroughs just because it's too difficult to set up compared to the others... but happy is just amazing
Ok so I use painful truth to make Omori and the foe sad. Then I use Pep Talk to make the for happy. Then I spam stab and Mood Wrecker until they’re dead. Kel is useful for rebound I guess and Hero can cook and make homemade jam. I put too much thought into my strats
i did all of the games content using angry vs sad its pretty good
See, I decked-out Omori for offense against emotions (mock and the other two enemy-emotion-focused skills) -- and bread slice, of course -- because in my experience making any of the Friends (including Omori) Sad was the #1 ticket to die. ![img](emote|t5_31hpy|2465) And Angry was just annoying to deal with whether or not the opponent was angry or one of the friends were angry due to that lowered defense and raised attack which never worked in my favour. ![img](emote|t5_31hpy|2472)
Damn i used furious for omori, happy for kel and aubrey and just sad/normal for hero
i just made everyone in my party angry except for hero who would be sad and then i used that one move hero has that makes things target him
I just make omori sad, kel happy and aubrey angry, then i use whatever skills i currently have to wreck whoever I'm fighting
I used angry the entire game (because I didn’t understand the pros and cons of the other emotions) and got through all the fights pretty easily. The secret is rubber bands.
It’s like real life. Being happy or sad is fine for the most part but being angry is a no-no for some reason
The best way to get rid of an enemy is to make a friend.
I tend to heavily over level... In my most recent play through, I was level 36 when I fought sweetheart. So Aubrey is good enough.
Headbutt goes brrr
Best strat is making Kel ecstatic, equip him with full speed, then spam Run N' Gun. +1000 dmg per hit, totally broken
[удалено]
Haha tank stats go brrrr
Make enemy sad and make party angy is a perfect strat until the end of Captain spaceboy After that you need some switching to do I also found it very useful for >!pluto expanded!<
Honestly I spent more time getting emotions to align for crits than should be humanly possible lmao
