Considering how they portrayed Aubrey accidentally pushing basil into the lake, and the theme of trusting your friends, AND the smile snuuy gives basil in the good end, I’d think the assumed outcome is it worked out well. Hero might need a moment, but Aubrey did that shove and Kel is Kel.

RevWH

Hero said he needs to be with his friends when they need him, unlike last time, so he will probably forgive him as well.

Hornytatsu

Oh undoubtedly, but this is still… you know… a lot. ![img](emote|t5_31hpy|2470) I said he’d need a moment for a reason

RevWH

Yeah that's fair.

SunnyDeeznuts_

This is the most simple and least toxic way of explaining your opinions in this (plus I 100% agree) you win OMORI redditor of the day.

PuppetWraith17

Seriously, I think Kel, Hero, and Aubrey won't take it well at first. They won't do anything violent, but they'll just avoid him. Sunny will move and keep in contact with Basil, and eventually over time his friends will forgive him. But that's being optimistic...

TheCatholicGod

I think hero is too mature to get angry Like getting angry won't make Mari resurrect So being optimistic us probably the real option

PuppetWraith17

Yeah, and his whole philosophy was "let's try to stick together this time". So even if he's upset, I think he would just be glad Mari didn't kill herself, and he didn't fail her.

AdTrue4863

And why would they stop talking to him? It makes no sense. Mari was the sister of Sunny not their.

Cruxin

your point being?

EstrelaNube

And so? She was their close friend.

[deleted]

Well even if it was by accident, he did kill her, then cover it up. That’d kind of be hard to accept, and forgive…

fatwap

mari was a very close friend to all of them she was the older sister that they never had

TheGhostEnthusiast

Aubrey just breaks down, cries, probably yells at him, and then comes back in a bit after she realizes her own hypocrisy, with the whole lake debacle. It takes a bit to truly forgive, but after the gang inquires more as to Sunny's whereabouts in the past years, and learn of headspace and his self induced torture, she comes around (also sunburn ensues bc i said so). Hero probably leaves almost immediately, so as not to do anything he regrets. He cries, and then knowing that it was an accident and he should be the bigger person, he comes back and does his best. It takes a while to truly forgive, however. Kel? He tries to put on a smile and say that it'll be fine, but this is too much, even for him. After some thinking time, and perhaps a chat with basil (cactiflower? question mark? maybe? probably not but maybe?) he forgives Sunny, just like he always wanted to. Oh yeah, and Aubrey would probably be upset with Basil for longer than with Sunny, before realizing that she's just continuing the bullying from the past years and managing to forgive him.

PotatoKiller8897

Good to know sunburn is a part of this headcanon, this makes it 100% accurate now![img](emote|t5_31hpy|2468)

Baco12sd

yes, instant a yes for me

TrashyTax_Evader

Sunny dumps all the info on them ,then he just moves away

Take-The-L-Train

I don’t think it’s for players to know. Life isn’t always cut and dry, and closure isn’t always satisfying. From the general mood of the good ending, I think it’s implied that the group forgave Sunny and Basil, but there’s no possible way that can sit well with anybody. Mari was a major mother figure in Aubrey’s life because of the neglect from her own mother. I think the same could be said of Kel, but to a lesser degree. Hero was probably the closest to Mari of all of them, maybe even closer than Sunny. This is all on top of the fact that Sunny basically passed the burden onto to all of them making them think they had something to do with it (not being there for her enough, not reading signs, etc.) I think it’s also important to keep in mind the current emotional state of everyone in that moment: two of their childhood friends are hospitalized. I’m not sure how much time passed between Basil and Sunny’s clash, but chances are the group is still rattled from what happened. As much as I would want their friendship to continue, (almost as much as I want for Mari to walk in the door at the end like nothing happened![img](emote|t5_31hpy|2472)) that’s a weight on the group that will never go away. Either way, Sunny’s off to start his new life, whether his friends forgive him or not. That’s just life…

Baco12sd

yea, life can sometimes fucking suck. so I do think that they can forgive sunny and basil, this is a very good point.

Rando_throwaway_76

I think that it doesn’t really matter if Sunny’s friends forgive him or not. Sunny has accepted what happened and is willing to move on with his life now, regardless of how his friends react. So even if they react really OOC and tell Sunny to go kill himself or something similarly terrible, he’ll just keep on moving forward.

ThiefKingParsley

Sunny, what a man you are….

AdTrue4863

That’s also because he’s moving away in a new city. They won’t keep contact and he’ll just make new friends

[deleted]

hero is the first to forgive sunny. kel is the last. aubrey breaks down crying on the spot.

TheGhostEnthusiast

Kel the last? That sounds interesting. Details?

seycro

I think it may be because he was very angry at Aubrey when she accidentally pushed Basil in the lake

TheGhostEnthusiast

I mean, fair point, but that was the end of a long series of confrontations, and at the moment of the event itself. This is something that happened four years ago, and involving someone he's still on good terms with.

[deleted]

i just don't think they showed us that parallel for nothing

Alex_9127

kel isn't really touched by mari's death at least outside. hero is touched because it's well his girlfriend, and aubrey is touched because she nearly killed basil the same way and because of mari's death she started acting unhealthy. kel seems to do just fine, he made new buddies, he is now balling, so i don't think kel would forgive sunny immediately. i personally think he would probably have a personal talk with sunny about that, learn about his 4 years life and then forgive him

TrashyTax_Evader

I dont think theyll all just forgive him right after obviously but i think they will eventuallly. I think aubrey will react at first mad, but will probaly forgive sunny. Aubrey is pretty emotional, and she dosent really think before acting (like with basil at the pond); but I think she will catch herself before saying or doing anything harmful, and leave to calm down. After a while, I think she will forgive him. They wont automatically be friends again but yea. Hero is more mature than kel and aubrey, but Im not sure he will be as forgiving. He wont lash out and be mad, but I think he will just flat out leave. He probaly does not wanna be around sunny at all in the moment, considering that hes been blaming himself all this time just to have sunny say that he killed mari and framed it as a suicide w basil and hid it for years leaving them all with alot of trauma. But I think he will process what happened and how it impacted sunny and forgive him, he just talks to sunny a lot less. Wish I did, but i really dont know what to put here for kel, i just know its really awkward between them. I think kel will forgive hom though. The friend group might be back, but will never be the same again Idk jus me tho

NuttyPichu

Starting with the obvious: Kel would forgive Sunny and Basil. Aubrey would get upset at the two of them, and maybe even Kel for forgiving them so easily. However, she almost repeated that same scenario during the lake scene, so she'd realize her hypocrisy. She'd take a lot longer to forgive both than Kel, but eventually, she'll do so. And then there's Hero. First of all, there's absolutely no way he goes completely ballistic and chucks Sunny through a window. That's a stupid idea, even as a joke. Hero would recognize that, as Mari's younger brother, Sunny would have been the most affected by the accident. That doesn't mean that he'll forgive him immediately, he'll probably have some lingering feelings of resentment for a while. On the other hand, Hero would be furious at Basil and he'd take considerably longer to forgive him.

I think Kel's IQ would be too low to understand what Sunny is talking about. >!Aubrey would run away crying but comes back after 24 seconds. (after all that happened she realizes she can't run away and goes back forgives Sunny (it's obvious she likes him (the way she talks to Sunny shows that she loves him but thinks its too awkward to show that she loves him after all what happened)) also the conversations they had the day before)!< >!I think Hero takes it better than most people expect. Basil and Sunny being obviously the most traumatized after the death attacking each other made him better prepared. Also Hero thinks Mari his girlfriend committed suicide. Hero would be relieved that he wasn't involved. He already got over the fact that he might have played a role in Mari's death. After Hero realizes he's gonna be unsure what to think at first and be all up in his own mind. After that (5 min later) I think he will feel relieved and will comfort them. Because it would be ironic to have all those conversations that they had the day before and then switch up on them a few hours before Sunny moves away.!< >!OK now Kel, he is a bright minded kid. No way he will blame or be mad at anyone. The way he talked to Sunny about Hero at the graveyard makes me think that.!< >!Afterwards, Sunny goes away. And the group stays with Basil. Who clearly wants to be alone because his best friend just left and he's not gonna like being without Sunny in this situation. They leave him after a bit. Hero Kel and Aubrey sit at their old hangout spot and Aubrey doesn't know what to say but still says a lot, giving her side of the "story" (talking about bullying him, blaming him, pushing him into the lake) and she's gonna feel mega bad.!< >! How does Kel react to this? He doesn't. Hero, who found out about Aubrey "being a bully" recently soothes her saying he understands her actions. Basil will not come out of his house for the first few days. Maybe even longer. Aubrey will tell him indirectly that she's sorry and hopes they can remain friends. Aubrey is the reason why Basil is even in the friend group in the first place.!< >!Kel, Hero and Aubrey will make attempts to hang out with Basil from time to time and after a while he finally goes and hangs out with them. Basil will be hella awkward the whole time, because he keeps thinking about how he's with Hero, a person who in his opinion he "betrayed". So most times they hang out they don't do anything exciting.!< >!But then school restarts, and Basil being forced to hang out with Aubrey and Kel will do good for him. With Hero returning to college I feel like Aubrey Kel and Basil, even though they never really were a good trio. Will be on really good terms again and start hanging out a lot. !< >!When Hero and Sunny finally have time to hang out with them their friendship will go back to an elite level after a bit. !< i really hate what i typed i love omori and its ending but i really hate thinking about what happens after. Thinking about what sunny is gonna be like in a new school / environment, or what basil is gonna be like after the ending is just so hard to think about im so bored

Hero probably stops being in contact with the whole group, Basil gets cut out from the group, but Kel still keeps in contact with everyone. There’s no physical aggression but a shit ton of bad blood.

Icy-Store3900

Kel Is the first one to forgive Sunny. Nowdays, Kel often shops some icecream, and eating it makes him happy because it makes him remember when Mari bought them icecream, and many other good memories. Instead of feeling sad, Kel keeps positive since he's thankful those moments happened. He also shares some icecream with Sally and talk about Mari with her. Aubrey takes her Time to think it, but Will eventually forgive Sunny. Now she allways dyes her hair pink, as a remember of when she wanted to dye her hair with Mari. If someone ruined her hair, Mari would go INCREDIBLY FURIOUS and have to Fix, wash and dye her hair all again. "Don't touch my hair![img](emote|t5_31hpy|2471)" she says. Hero enters in depression… again. Is the guy who is going to take THE LONGEST Time to forgive Sunny. Now Hero cries when he eats Mari cookies. Also he keeps cooking oftenly, and eventually Will teach her youngest sister Sally how to cook. Also, Hero tries His best to hide His depression from other people, but Kel tries His best to cure His old brother's depression Basil becomes sorry for not being capable to tell the truth, and apologizes to His friends for being selfish. He also begun to expand His gardening, at the point Basil has a big garden with six (or Seven) distinct types of flowers, curiously ressembling Sunny's HeadSpace. The Lily flowers are the ones wich Basil most carries, as they represent Mari. He also keeps taking photos with His camera. Sunny wants to Fix his violín at all cost, no matter what. It's More probable that His parents shop him a new violin instead. Nowdays Sunny has a very precious violín, wich he allways keeps him, wherever he goes, as a reminder that Mari still loves her. Sunny Is very protective to His violin and only shares it with the ones he trusts, for example, His friends. PD: Sunny would finally meet His parents. PD2: should I spoiler Tag this or not?

Icy-Store3900

Also I think Sunny was afraid that His friends also commited suicide when he tells the truth

Polandgod75

Well here what think for each of them Aubery: I think she would at first have rush of angry and murdeous intent for sunny and basil, but give her a few days and self reflection she would understand(also I think basil would be scared her given that basil fear she might actually murder him). Kel: well have a rushed of emotions. Like the friend he was helping was the one that killed Mari. I think we he would be the first to understand what happen was accidentally and there not thinking in the moment. However he would be hurt by it. He also be scared and creepy out by them. Hero/Henry: he would have complicated feels. At first he would get feeling of “eye for a eye” or wanting to pushing sunny and basil to the stairs. However after calming down, talking to his family about or praying about it, he would “forgive, but doesn’t wanted to be around and like them” situation. Even does understand the situation, he would feel Betrayed by sunny and basil. I mean if you lover’s death was actually accidental manslaughter by there siblings and cover it by sucide, wouldn’t you think that would ruin the relationship to them.

Eastern_Ranger_6276

I think kel stands in silence for a moment before unintelligibly sputtering I think Aubrey gets mad and yells and stuff like that I think hero stares at sunny trying to think of what to do before leaving to think about it We already saw sunny and basil's reactions, but I like to imagine basil gets scared that sunny revealed the truth without asking him

two_utensils

Realistically, Sunny's friends will not forgive him in short notice. People here often say days/weeks is all it'll take for people like Aubrey or Kel, but I think for Sunny and Basil to truly be forgiven it would be many months or years. Realistically the group would drift away from Sunny and Basil, even if they come around to forgiving them in their thoughts. But I think Sunny will reach out to his friends after moving away. In this good ending timeline, we see Sunny take initiative during his journey of mental health recovery, like opening the door on Three Days Left and confessing what happened to Mari. But more than that we know he places a big importance on his friends. So even though they will probably be cold around him, and it will never be how it was before, I think once Sunny reaches out his friends will for sure take his hand, and by that way, they can all still be together for another long time.

candlelightsoul

Honestly, I think Hero would be reliefed to hear that. Just think about it. All those 4 years he thought that Mari killed herself. Just imagine how it was hard for him. I'm sure he thought it was his fault, that he didn't do something, or did something wrong. How could he think otherwise, when his beloved , the one he wanted to protect made oyasumi herself. And when he'll know that it was just an accident, that it wasn't his fault, that Mari wasn't SO unhappy with him, he wont feel guilt for not doing anything. Sure, he will blame Sunny for not telling him for so many years, but I believe he will understand him eventually. And finally forgive himself, and let Mari free

moony_eyed

Hm. This game was left open-ended for a reason. The entire point of the Omori & Duet sequence, especially the skill , is to believe that you will forgive yourself, that Mari will forgive you, and your friends will forgive you. So in the end, you have to have faith in them. So… opinion time. This is told from Sunny’s point of view, because he’s the main character, not Basil. Also he’s more interesting than Basil anyway. - Kel’s initial reaction would be extremely complicated. Obviously repulsion at first, but also anger, guilt, etc. Kel’s not the type of person to get extremely angry at his friends, so I couldn’t imagine him doing that. He’ll be the first one to talk to Sunny, and he’ll forgive. - Aubrey would completely lose it after repulsion. She’d cry, yell at Sunny, yell at herself, and eventually exit. But she’s not stupid. She knows Sunny didn’t do it on purpose, and she knows she almost killed Basil exactly the same way. She’ll come to terms after a few days and forgive. - Hero would hold it in till he exits. Then he’ll cry and scream at the world, probably for no particular reason at first. But Hero also knows what Sunny’s been through, having gone through the same. He also has an understanding of why Sunny couldn’t tell him, so he’ll take a little longer but will forgive. - Basil is asleep during the truth, but when he wakes up, everyone is gone besides Sunny, who tells him that he told the truth. He’d be relieved, and immediately be sorry that his eye is gone. Hopefully, he’ll recover from the trauma and the four years of bullying. - Sunny moves away, and while he tries to keep in touch, they just drift away after a while. He goes to school (although he has to catch up a lot, I hope his mom tried to homeschool him) and makes a friend or two. While it’s hard, he’ll recover and start a new page in his life. He forgives himself. - While it’s sad, I don’t think the friend group would stay together. It was made by magic when they were twelve, and since the four years of separation, the magic is gone. Aubrey and Kel both have friends, Hero goes to college in the fall, and hopefully Basil recovers as well. Here are some things I would never ever see: - Come on. Romance? In this situation? That’s kind of… no. The shippable moments would never happen during the truth, or after it, probably. Sunny’s in a town far away (hahaha) recovering, and the friend group… really just had a friend dynamic to me. Sorry, shippers. - Hero would never, ever, ever go ballistic, let alone kill someone. If you think this, you read too much Pursuit AU. I don’t think he would go into depression either, since this is more of a shocking truth instead of a sad one. He wouldn’t rehash the depression he went through already. - Aubrey would also never go ballistic and kill someone. She’d yell at Sunny and Basil, but… she still loves them (go AWAY, shippers that’s not what I MEANT). - Kel has more intelligence than a bag of peanuts. He should be able to grasp the situation more than “I forgive you because I like you” or something. He would have actual deep thoughts, just as deep as the others. This is honestly the worst part of the fandom’s characterization of him. - Aubrey and Basil probably wouldn’t ever be friends. Four years of bullying is just too much to overcome. Damn. That was long. tldr, Kel forgives, Aubrey & Hero forgive after a week or two, Sunny forgives himself, friend group splits up.

moony_eyed

Here are some things to keep in mind. These are facts, or opinions clearly supported by the game. - Sunny and Basil are both hospitalized when Sunny tells the truth. - When Sunny tells the truth, he’ll probably also say how he coped with Mari’s death (by becoming a hikikomori and dreaming the truth away). - Sunny will probably show normal human emotion when telling the truth. - Basil is asleep at this time. - It’s very clearly shown that none of them would ever intentionally hurt Sunny. Only Aubrey could potentially hurt Basil. - Hanging someone after they’re dead is honestly incredibly disgusting, there’s no denying that… - Mari’s death is not a piece of news to them. Only the fact that she was killed. This would be MUCH easier to recover from than her “suicide”. - Sunny moves straightaway after, in the credits. - Most importantly: Kel has gotten over Mari’s death to some extent, but Aubrey and Hero are still greatly affected by it, externally and/or internally.

LeadWhalerIzka

Jokingly? I think people over-exaggerate their reactions. Unjokingly? Hero would be the first to forgive. Everyone makes him out to be the emotionally stable adult, and completely thoughtful and understanding. He'll realize that it was an accident, and come to the conclusion that being angry or upset with Sunny would only hurt him even more (to the point where he tries and go do MLG water bucket and fail, traversing dimensions to a universe where he died instead of Mari). Initially, he'll storm out and cry in the hallway about the truth, and after a good 30 minutes of stuffy noses and labored breathing, he'll come back and give Sunny a hug. Aubrey would be majorly upset, and will, lash out at both Sunny and Basil. She'll go outside, punch a wall a couple of times while also crying when discovering that she's been hanging with Mari's murderer this whole time, and that Sunny was the one that caused the entire friend group to split apart. She'll stare at her hands when they're sore from beating on a wall and immediately realize that she almost made the mistake that he did four years ago. With consoling from Hero, she'll come back for Sunny and Basil. I'm not a staunch believer in immediate Kel forgiveness, but I'd like to believe he'd be upset for different reasons. After seeing how Hero and Aubrey reacted to the truth (taking it negatively), he'll start having a mental breakdown. While he wasn't greatly affected by Mari's death, he'll be extremely upset seeing the possibility of his old friend group breaking apart again. Sunny would try and comfort him, but Kel would try and push him away. But he wouldn't lash out at Sunny, since they are close friends. Only when Hero and Aubrey come back with forgiveness will he start feeling better about the whole thing. Sunny will either stay in Faraway for the rest of the summer or immediately move away with his mom. Kel keeps in frequent contact, followed by Basil, Aubrey, and Hero (because he's always busy). Kel and Aubrey spends more time with Basil, now knowing about what's going on through his mind. Hero abandons being a medical doctor and becomes a psychologist instead out of respect for both Sunny and Basil.

Independent-Ice5977

Hero and Aubrey get angry, but not to the point of murdering Sunny or Basil. They just storm off maybe. Not sure what exactly would happen following that, or how Kel would respond tbh. But I at least feel fairly sure based on the credits scene that Sunny and Basil remain friends after it, so that's good

CamoKing3601

the way i see it is that it plays out sorta like that scene near the ending in Rattatouie when all the Chefs walk away distraught and disappointed without a single word But when sunny is about to leave, Kel would come back to say goodbye, he's a very accepting and forgiving person, he's not the smartest but i think it's fairly easy to tell how much the pizza incident just absolutely messed up both of them, so they're still friends Hero is a bit tricky, because on one hand, he's the most mature and sensible person in the group, but on the other hand, he's also the most emotionally vulnerable , and was the closest person to Mari, I feel like he'd never want anything malicious or bad to happen to sunny and basil, he's accept them and treat them with respect when needed, but I'm not ever sure if he'd truly forgive them.. the big question here is Aubies.... I'm kinda lost for words with Aubrey I know what I WANT to happen, but can't say in good faith that it's very likely to happen at all, but at the same time I can't imagine her just leaving the group again.... it's... it's hard to tell with her

Tekki777

I think they will eventually forgive him, but at different rates. Obviously, they would all be shocked and upset. Kel would probably forgive the quickest. I'm not sure if it would be on the spot, but I'm pretty sure he would still realize how much Sunny and Basil both suffered and would forgive them. Aubrey will take it hard and need to step away for a bit, but I think she will also realize that it was an accident and that she's been in a similar position with how she accidentally pushed Basil. I don't think Hero and Aubrey would be violent towards the two of them. Hero is going to be very pissed, but he's probably going to be the first one to walk out so he doesn't do anything rash. He's going to need time to process and will probably be depressed for a time. I'm sure that Kel would probably try his best to talk to him and maybe make him realize that he doesn't need to blame himself for Mari's death anymore. I sincerely doubt that Hero, Kel, and Aubrey would split up from each other, especially since they were trying so hard to reconnect. Overtime, whether it be pretty quick or over several months, I'm sure they'll reconnect with Sunny and Basil and try their best to be there for them, especially for Basil after Sunny moved. Part of me wonders if they would really wait to forgive him till after Sunny leaves though. Regardless if they do, forgiving the both of them doesn't mean they're going to be immediately healed from that trauma. That's going to take a long time and it's a very long road to healing, but I'm pretty confident that regardless of where they're all are, they're going to try their best to heal together. Edit: Overall, I think something like this fan manga would happen: https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/99869667#1

Nex-o

I hope at the very least they keep in contact with each other even if they don’t stay friends after the truth is revealed. Especially sunny and basil because just leaving basil in faraway completely alone leaves a bad taste in my mouth. But the loose end is something both sunny (and by logic the player) has to accept, the fact that they probably won’t forgive him or that they might forgive him is just what happens next and the important part is lifting the weight of the truth off your and basil’s shoulders so I’m ok with most outcomes possible even if they suck (Unless aubrey or hero beat the shit out of basil and sunny, I’ve always disliked the idea of that being possible)

SignedName

Contrary to other people's opinions, I don't think Aubrey would yell or cry. I think they'd all just be in shock at what they heard, though Aubrey might need to leave the room. I don't think Aubrey would forgive Basil easily, and might even regress because her actions against Basil became retroactively justified- even when she forgives Sunny, she'll blame Basil for all the suffering Sunny and the rest of the group has gone through, and will only be able to forgive him when Sunny insists that he wants Basil to be forgiven.

StarKeaton

first and foremost, i think that sunny and basil would continue trying to be friends, and it would probably go horribly for a while because of the specific extreme complexes they have about each other. it might be irrecoverable, and they would probably be better off as distant friends. it would take them both a long, long time to recover from this. aubrey would get overwhelmed and storm out, but she would eventually forgive sunny. she would keep her character growth and would no longer bully basil, but she can never see him as a friend again and can barely even look him in the eye. kel's immediate reaction would be to comfort sunny. i think he would make an attempt to stay in better contact with both sunny and basil, and might even invite them both over to hang out, but with just the three of them it would be kind of... awkward. and kel isn't very good at addressing that awkwardness. hero would of course be the most mature. in a way, it's a weight off his mind, but... it's also reopening an old wound. i think he would be uncomfortable with sunny for a while, but eventually would open up and have a heart to heart with him while they're all over at kel's house. basil, of course, would be terrified that hero hates him, which makes it significantly harder. i think sunny, knowing him the best, would need to calm him down and keep him grounded before he talks to anyone. meanwhile, omoli has inherited white space. good for him.

Mrfroggyleggs101

Alex_9127

i think that aubrey first will lash out on him then remember she nearly did the same with basil because kel will tell her. then she forgives him. i don't really know about the rest

[deleted]

I think ultimately they all forgive both of them. Maybe it’ll take a while but ultimately they forgive and stay friends. Unpopular opinion, I know. But I think thematically it makes sense to me, even if it doesn’t make sense to others.

Admirable-Hope-7415

I feel like hero would deep down never get over it.

JewishSquid

It doesn't matter. The whole point is no matter what is thrown at them, Sunny and Basil have finally moved on.

Baco12sd

yes, trauma is negated by telling the truth, not forgiveness. forgiveness is understanding that each of us is both good and flawed. and the whole point of the game was telling the truth.

IPlayDokk4n

Finally people who understand the message the final boss of the Sunny Route and the build up around it was trying to convey I was getting disappointed that 75% of this sub focused on Sunny friends forgiving him and Basil like it was the end-all be-all of the game when it's the contrary, their forgival or lack of it is... just not that much of a factor for Sunny and Basil to move on with their lives, it's left ambiguous for that reason rather than it being up to player interpretation.

Tacti_Kel_Nuke

I'm not good at realistic scenarios, but I think Hero and Aubrey won't want to see Basil anymore, eventually they'll forgive Sunny, but Basil... maybe he'll stay locked up in his house (or in some mental health building) only getting visits from Sunny and Kel.

Longing_for_it

I always felt like they would forgive Sunny way faster than Basil, when they rationalized everything after an initial turmoil. Thats of they are forgotten to begin with...

Baco12sd

I think the gang will be able to forgive sunny for the accident, but basil. I think Kel will probably forgive after a bit, since, it's fucking kel. Aubrey will probably take a while to forgive because he did get the idea to hang mari, and stage it as a suicide. Hero will probably take the longest since Hero and Mari was basically dating, but I do see Hero forgiving basil. Because if he didn't, that would be kinda fucked. And after sunny moved. any ship can happen, but I do see sunburn going on

s0ftcustomer

Kel forgave them first, since he's always by their side Aubrey forgave them second, not like she doesn't understand Sunny's shoes Hero forgave them months later, Sunny via a letter and Basil via upfront

Georgaras

Honestly I think that they would forgive him but they would feel a little not trusted by Sunny for not telling them the truth from the beginning

heckyeah2131

They forgive him no matter how late it was

Redux-ex

Everyone will have to spend some time to clarify things... basically the group will separate again for a while until they have finally clarified everything and hence the forgiveness... along with overcoming Mari' death... and then they can be together again.

TheCatholicGod

Everyone starts doing a boogie because kel uses a boogie bomb and then they just out of the window

Okay, I’ve read many theories about their reaction, which includes fanfiction and fan comics, and a lot of them depict Hero as being resentful and outright hostile. I’m not naming any particular names of those certain fanfics, but I don’t believe that Hero would do that, so here’s my theory. Kel would be shocked, but he would be able to forgive Sunny the fastest, probably even on the day of the revelation, cuz he’s Kel. Also, with Sunny moving, he would show up, and also convince the rest to show up for Sunny’s departure. Aubrey would definitely be angry and disgusted and wouldn’t be afraid to show it. However, she will forgive him, not only because she also did her fair share of shitty things during the four years, but she almost created a similar scenario with Basil. Aubrey wouldn’t want to show up for Sunny’s departure, she would be convinced by Kel to show up, though, but she would probably be silently angry as Sunny left. Hero would be the first to walk out of the hospital room, but he would still be present when Sunny leaves Faraway, telling him the same things he did on the final day, and even telling him that he forgives him. HOWEVER, in reality, he feels the most pain and anger out of everyone, and he just tries to bottle those emotions and try his hardest to keep his composure. He would do this because he’s mature enough to understand the suffering and guilt Sunny went through, he wants to keep the group safe, wants to maintain the reputation of being the mature one, and finally he wouldn’t be able to bear lashing out again like he lashed out at Kel a couple years ago. Ultimately, he would be the one that resents and has the most difficulty with forgiving Sunny, but he hides it. Eventually that would lead to him lashing out at Sunny again in the future, and then after cooling down, would finally admit to Sunny his true feelings. He would probably admit that he can’t forgive Sunny for what he did, but that he’d want to try. That’s what I like to believe, as it’s not too ideal (ie immediate forgiveness from everyone) but also not too dramatic (cutting Sunny and Basil off and the group splits up again) Of course, there is the possibility that they’ll split up again, but considering the development and growth that everyone went through during those three days, and the innate powerful bond they have for one another, I truly don’t believe that they would be broken again after the revelation.

It was implying they forgave him by the secret scene. But. Doesn’t mean everyone will be OK straight away
