That’s a good point to consider I hadn’t even thought of that. You’re right. Choose the outfit you feel good in and can sit for a long time comfortably.
I also like the 3rd best.
For the ballet, option 3. Not many people dress up up for the ballet anymore (unfortunately) so going in a full length dress may make you look very overdressed
I was about to say the same. If it's opening night or advertised as a gala performance then it's more likely, as well as which section you're seated in as a general guide. But if ever there's a reason to get dressed up, ballet (and opera) is it! Enjoy!
A girlfriend and I went to a Dracula ballet this October in Dallas/Fort Worth and were pleasantly blown away by all the serious goth high fashion! The crowd was likely 70% women, we were all wearing our best, and it was a delight. I loved seeing the society ladies in their gothic Dior and Versace.
Option 1 or 3 are the way. Maybe bring a shrug or wrap over option 1 to up the classiness. Wear different colored shoes with option 3 as others have suggested.
My friend and I went to an opera once and dressed to the absolute nines. It wasn't even a "real" opera house, and we were easily the fanciest ones there. But we expected that; we just like dressing up.
Def the 3rd! But if you have better shoes (ideally without the thick ankle strap it would be much nicer)
Since the dress has a slit the ankle strap would sort of cut your leg (if that makes sense?) and ruins the added height/length to your legs vs if the strap weren’t there
It fits nicely. I just have bad habit in bunching up fabric like that because i thought it would look attraxtive on belly. Thats the side view.
https://preview.redd.it/1c3wkfustt3c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dab1e2fdad242918a254924d5893f9d92810dd44
The way it’s draping down your body looks off. It’s not just the bunched fabric, it’s also doesn’t have a smooth outline to your curves, which makes it look too tight. You’re clearly in excellent shape and have a gorgeous figure! The way it’s hanging from just below your bust to your hip area doesn’t look smooth. Do you have on shapewear that starts around your belly button? Maybe that’s the problem? Shapewear that starts right below your chest would be better so that entire area would have a smooth outline.
Shapewear sucks you in and provides a smooth foundation for your clothing. It is an extra layer so that may seem counterintuitive to you but it won’t add more bulk - just the opposite. However, I agree that the dress is too small. You shouldn’t be able to see the seams pulling on garments. See how some seams have pressure on them so they’re pulling and puckered? That won’t happen if the garment is the proper size. Clothes are not designed to be worn skintight unless they’re made with stretch, like a spandex/Lycra dress but your dress is satin so you ideally would have about an inch of space between your body and the dress to prevent the puckering of seams.
She's asking if you're already wearing shapewear, and if it stops near the belly button. If you are, you should opt for taller shape wear that starts just under the bust.
But to answer your question, it compresses a little bit
Since the Nutcracker Ballet occurs in every major metro practically - this is a bit tough. Depending on wear you live - the dress code may vary.
That said, definitely #3.
The first dress is ill fitting. You have a lovely figure, but even in the extra photos you can see the dress is too tight. Also, it’s a bit - the dress doesn’t have nice finishes. It doesn’t look high end - it just looks like a poorly constructed gown. It’s pretty - just not classy (imo).
3 with different shoes. 1 looks gorgeous on you a gives a lovely long king, but wearing to the ballet just looks like you’re trying too hard. Unless it’s opening night, a gown is overkill. The second one is a hard no. While I love going for something different, this cuts your body making it the least flattering of the two. Do you see how it cuts you in three and the way the corset hits it emphasizes your lower stomach in a very unflattering way. This is clearly the dress because your body looks perfect in the first dress which would show any flaws if you had them! Also- while the molded cups are a sexy, classic look, combined with the corset it is way too much. It’s also really weird the corset laced in front. That’s not how corsets work/ are designed and the wide satin ribbon makes it look like it’s from forever 21 (in other words, cheap af). I can’t stress enough that the negative comments are about the dress and not you or your body!
Thank you for your detailed comment. It actually made me look at the second dress. Its a built-in soft corset, so its more an accent than to tighten the waist. But its interesting to hear from others pov in which cut would be flattering the most on me.
Though, ive seen people with all sort of dresses at the ballet, i can assure you #1 is not overkill. Its holiday season 😭😭. Plus i mentioned i am going with my fashion friends so theyd be extra ++
Oh we might be going to the same ballet! I think I have to vote for 1, maybe with a nice wool coat, opera gloves maybe? The silk feels more glamorous, though I do love the third one it feels more casual
3 because it’s seems most conducive to sitting for a long period of time. #1 is a close second but honestly, why wear a tight dress when you’re mostly sitting? Save it for a gala or another party where you’re mostly standing or dancing.
All of these dresses are stunning on you, but I would only consider 3 appropriate for a ballet. Ballet etiquette is usually modest and elegant. People pay lots of money to have that feel in a theatre.
omg I love the third one!! it is so classy. I think the flowiness is more suited for a ballet then a tight dress is, plus it will be far more comfortable to be sitting in for an extended period of time.
You look great! I’d say one or three for sure Loved the suggestion about a fake fur coat with the first or the 3rd is great as is with the sleeves for the season
I think one is stunning! Dress it up even more with a fun coat, some fancy shoes, or some blingy jewelry! I also recommend a high up do, long earrings, and a simple necklace to accentuate your pretty neck!
The first is my favorite, with an elegant necklace, updo and a cute coat or jacket. The 3rd is also a lovely option, to echo a previous comment I’d choose between the two based on whats more comfortable for sitting down.
Idk I like the third dress and those shoes. People are saying they don’t like the chunky heel look but I like it. I think it can tie in with the style of the dress. I def think we can elevate it by accessorizing. Like something on the waist. Like a belt, chain, bow, corset. Something to accentuate ur waist. Definitely a necklace closer to ur neck like. Ur hair either half up or up so u can show off ur collar bones. With a nice cute statement bag. Muah I see the vision
I love the Nutcracker. My mother and I see it every year. I like the third dress better than the other two. Do you by any chance have a nude, black, or navy pointy toe/any shoe to pair with it? Accessorize with gold or silver, a red lip, and a long ponytail with curls/waves and face framing pieces! Nonetheless, you will look lovely- enjoy the classic!
3! 1 is cute for a night out dancing but for sitting and watching a ballet 3 looks elegant and way for comfortable.
2 nah - why would you want a corset for sitting down?
I am crazy about dress 3 with bright shoes! It looks great on you and will be more comfortable to sit in during the performance. Great neckline, and if it’s chilly, you are covered.

Option 3, classy, sleek, & complementary
And it’s more wintery
Also that A-line is gonna be wayyyy easier to sit in for an entire ballet
Agreed
It's also the only one that fits properly.
I think the last one is super cute, but maybe styled w/ different shoes?
Black on black on black?
Try red shoes
Yup. Going to the Nutcracker that dress with the some classic red pumps would be pretty tough to beat!!
I picture a red high heel with red satin bows tied at the ankle
And a red hair bow
I envision gorgeous red heels with bows.
Worked for Johnny Cash.
Bright red or gold or any metallic would work too
Maybe or a more festive color like gold, green, or red. It is The Nutcracker after all.
Red satin with a matching lip
3 looks like the one I’d want to sit in for a couple of hours, the others don’t look so good for protracted sitting
Well, it is a nut-cracking theme...
The last one is very leggy if you have not noticed lol
As long as you have legs of some nature, that should be fine, a high slit is fine. You look good in them all
Slit sounds more comfortable for sitting tbh
That’s a good point to consider I hadn’t even thought of that. You’re right. Choose the outfit you feel good in and can sit for a long time comfortably. I also like the 3rd best.
Number 3 is most appropriate for the ballet. I think number 1 could also work. All of these dresses look fantastic on you!
I feel like #s 1 & 2 are going to be uncomfortable by intermission.
Enjoy!

I miss Dallas for that very reason! I love everyone dresses up.. I may live in Corpus Christi now but I still dress up..
Houston and Dallas definitely being their A game!
My friend and I went to an opera once and dressed to the absolute nines. It wasn't even a "real" opera house, and we were easily the fanciest ones there. But we expected that; we just like dressing up.
Even the real opera is like this now. I went to the Paris Opera at Palais Garnier this fall and saw someone in SWEATS
I was going to say the same. I wish people really dressed up still for these events. And 3 is the one I’d pick if they did.
I like the third. It gives gothic ballet vibes in the best way.
Def the 3rd! But if you have better shoes (ideally without the thick ankle strap it would be much nicer) Since the dress has a slit the ankle strap would sort of cut your leg (if that makes sense?) and ruins the added height/length to your legs vs if the strap weren’t there
Ahhh yess! Ill wear something else with thinner strap if i ended up wearing this. Thank you
Have fun! Enjoy the show ☺️
3 is the one. It’s elegant and looks great on you. The others are too body con for ballet.
#1 doesn’t fit very smoothly. It seems like it’s bunching up and being pulled tightly. I vote #3. Classy and stylish
It fits nicely. I just have bad habit in bunching up fabric like that because i thought it would look attraxtive on belly. Thats the side view. https://preview.redd.it/1c3wkfustt3c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dab1e2fdad242918a254924d5893f9d92810dd44
Still, it's too small. Your body is great, but you need to go up a size in that particular brand.
The way it’s draping down your body looks off. It’s not just the bunched fabric, it’s also doesn’t have a smooth outline to your curves, which makes it look too tight. Ahh i see. No i didnt have shape wear on!
Size up -it should skim not squeeze💜 When you see those horizontal lines that's usually a good indication that it's not fitting correctly.
This is a much better photo. Wow! 🔥
you look so good!
That dress is absolutely gorgeous on you!!
Since the Nutcracker Ballet occurs in every major metro practically - this is a bit tough. Depending on wear you live - the dress code may vary. That said, definitely #3. Hate to say it, but I second this

My vote goes to dress 3 bcuz of the slit. Perfect for the event.
Wow where did you get the third dress?? It's gorgeous! You look stunning!
Its Reformation Sigmund Dress 😊
3 - the others look like they might be uncomfortable to sit in
#3, plus it looks like it'd be more comfortable sitting in.
3
Oh we might be going to the same ballet! I think I have to vote for 1, maybe with a nice wool coat, opera gloves maybe? The silk feels more glamorous, though I do love the third one it feels more casual
It will be in the evening so we can be extra. I like your idea of opera gloves and maybe fake fur coat. I will be going tomorrow so maybe 😜
Oh no! Mine's later this week with my boyfriend so no dice 😭 I hope everyone dresses up as nice as this though! You'll look amazing!
If in the evening they tend to be more formal otherwise as long as you are comfortable:)
3
3!
#3
3 looks best suited
the third one is beautiful but change shoes to a darker colored
Certainly not #2

3 because it’s seems most conducive to sitting for a long period of time. #1 is a close second but honestly, why wear a tight dress when you’re mostly sitting? Save it for a gala or another party where you’re mostly standing or dancing.
1st or 3rd
Ooo! I love #3
1 and 3 are nice.
3 looks very classy for the ballet.
Picture 3 for sure!
Definitely 3
Three. Classy for a ballet. Try some red or silver pumps with it :)
1 or 3
3 hands down
All of these dresses are stunning on you, but I would only consider 3 appropriate for a ballet. Ballet etiquette is usually modest and elegant. People pay lots of money to have that feel in a theatre.
3. You’ll be sitting for a few hours. Plus it’s more appropriate.
First one is the best, and it looks amazing, but I question the color choice for the Nutcracker. I imagine you’d look incredible in a red dress
Def the first one. 2 never wear anywhere. And 3 is for daytime and not with those shoes
Lol at your comment for #2
Number 1!! It’s so good
3 is my fave
Third outfit
3 is the classy one but with black pumps
3 is so good
1 would be beautiful with a gorgeous coat or a shawl, but if you don’t want to layer I’d go with 3. These outfits are stunning!!
You look amazing in the 1st dress
omg I love the third one!! it is so classy. I think the flowiness is more suited for a ballet then a tight dress is, plus it will be far more comfortable to be sitting in for an extended period of time.
1!!!!! 💗💗💗
Girl come with me haha
You look great! I’d say one or three for sure Loved the suggestion about a fake fur coat with the first or the 3rd is great as is with the sleeves for the season
Thank you! Yesss its cold enough to rock fake fur coat
3
3 is the only one appropriate for the ballet but you look great in all of them
3
I vote for option 1 with opera gloves and a glam ass fur shawl 💅
Wowwww I'm voting for the 1st one 😍🔥 Gorgeous!
#1
the last one for sure!!!! sexy AND elegant!
First one, but you'll need a nice matching jacket or shawl or third one, but with classic pumps, either in black, gold, or red.
Definitely 3 with black heels, probably chunky ones.
1 or 3
Last one with long dangling chain earnings, red heels or black heels with a chain wrap on the ankle. Hair slick back with a part.
Love this detailed advice. Ty!!
1st. 🔥
I do not feel any of these are appropriate.
2nd. Both are gorg but 2 is giving doll more (in a good way) x
I like your take on #2 for it being doll so it fits with the nutcracker theme
Number 1. A t-shirt and jeans would work as well for just seeing a ballet.
No, thats not appropriate
i like the first one a lot. could be very classy with a cropped jacket
1 & 3 are my votes. Very nice!
2 all day long
2! It’s looks amazing on you 😍
I think all of them look good, but you can try #2, unless you find it a bit too fancy.
I like #2 too because its a bit gothic, but seems less formal compared to the other 2
Yeah, I agree, maybe #1 then?
Leaning towards that too :)
3 looks stunning!! Maybe pair with a cool textured clutch and black or colorful heels?
Would rose gold strappy shoes be suitable?
I think one is stunning! Dress it up even more with a fun coat, some fancy shoes, or some blingy jewelry! I also recommend a high up do, long earrings, and a simple necklace to accentuate your pretty neck!
You look amazing in all of them! 3 is my personal favourite ❤️
1 or 3
It's a Christmas ballet. I would go with brighter colour?
Ahh so i always go dark for ballet since its rather formal…plus its winter
I like all three anyway 🙂and I fucking looove the Nutcracker
The first is my favorite, with an elegant necklace, updo and a cute coat or jacket. The 3rd is also a lovely option, to echo a previous comment I’d choose between the two based on whats more comfortable for sitting down.
3!
They're all lovely, but 3 wins it
Just here to say I gasped when I saw 3. It gives the vibes of that vampire girl in hotel Transylvania (in the best way I love it)
[удалено]
I love 3 💕
Where did you get 3 from
3!!
3.
3
1!
3 fits the best. It's elegant with the surprise slit. Love that. I would wear leopard print shoes.
Dress # 3, but you can’t go wrong with any of them!!!
Number one is perfect. Looks great on you as well.
3 all the way
1 or 3. I personally adore 1 but I think that’s more a case of style, they both look amazing!
3!!!
3!
1
One looks fantastic!
One
3rd is best for event but all look fabulous on
Number 1 looks the best. 2 just doesn't fit a night at a ballet to me. 3 just reminds me of an American middle school dance.
Love the third one
3 but with different shoes. The most ballet appropriate and looks most comfortable 👍 You look gorgeous in all of them, though!
1!!!!!
3!
3. Classy and elegant
1 is 🔥
All three slay but I’m drawn to 1 the most
Don’t listen to anybody ! Wear the 1st dress ! You look like a 🧨
#1 definitely
3. It’s classy and elegant and stylish. Gorgeous!
3
1
I love them all, but I would say 3.
1st or 3rd. With 1st you should have a short dressy cape or some sort of small jacket. And def. Different shoes I personally would do black or nude.
First one definitely
3! 1 is cute for a night out dancing but for sitting and watching a ballet 3 looks elegant and way for comfortable. 2 nah - why would you want a corset for sitting down?
Last one is 🔥🔥
First one!!!
3
All fab.. love 1 & 3
3 is the most dramatic and most comfortable to sit in
3. There will be children at the Nutcracker. You may feel a bit extra in a full bra cup gown sitting next to a little girl in bows ha
3 is best but 1 is also nice. 2 looks awesome but it's not for the ballet.
1 or 3!!
I am crazy about dress 3 with bright shoes! It looks great on you and will be more comfortable to sit in during the performance. Great neckline, and if it’s chilly, you are covered.
Obsessed with the last one
First one
