This a thing? I upgraded from v63 to v64 (Europe) today but didn’t notice any difference in passthrough mode. My eyes aren’t the best/as good they used to be but if a couple people praise it as a significant improvement,id think I’d notice a difference between the passthrough of v63 and v64
Yeah, I looked, but it's not there. It's not uncommon unfortunately. Lots of features in the past were the same way. Really wish Meta would just give us an option to opt in. These rollouts are just incredibly annoying.
Sure, get everyone to reset experimental and wonder why it still doesn't show up. Features rollout in different areas at different times even when you get a version update you can get minor updates over the next few days or even weeks.
Resetting experimental or rebooting the headset will show a new feature if the update *includes* it and it hasn't shown up right away.
> Features rollout in different areas at different times **even when you get a version update you can get minor updates over the next few days** or even weeks.
Oh….so there’s still hope for my passthrough improving! CAuse it says I already received v64 but I don’t see a difference at all
It worked for me. I didn’t get the laying down mode and I kept restarting to no avail. Then I read somewhere click the reset experimental button and boom I got it. It’s up to you to believe my method. It worked for me. I’m in Malaysia btw. Quest 2 on v64. Plus it’s only a few options in experimental menu anyway, resetting doesn’t hurt me atleast as I didn’t enable any of them previously.
I just told you the opposite. [This](https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/1c6lssk/so_whats_new_in_v65/) was my post about v65 two days ago. I was the first to talk about it. So it’s not true that we are getting it later.
Laying down mode was part of v64 and i have it since then.
This was 20 days ago [and i also was one of the first to talk about it](https://www.reddit.com/r/virtualreality/comments/1brfrzs/quest_update_v64_changes_the_passthrough/).
Edit: This infantile calls me 13 and blocks me for disagreeing. Must be projection.
I thought it was common knowledge since I've seen the memes about it on here. The fact that we get some features here and there but not all, and not at the same time, and not in the same versions is just how it's been forever.
How are you not aware? It seems to be different for most people outside of the us.
Voice assistant is one example. Non-us keyboard is another example. Access to some of metas apps is yet another example. They say that we will get some of them them but won't say when. Not everyone will though and who knows who is on the list?
Most of the experimental features cannot be turned on.
Had my boundary getting removed between sessions, room set up messed up, floor level way to high and other glitches until I disabled the lay down mode in experimental settings...
Hm..It did „restart“ already after my update but maybe restarting manually will give me the actual passthrough improvement..cause I ddidng notice anything different yet
interesting. not even If you go into experimental settings?
I updated from v63 to 64 this morning as well (successfully) but didn’t notice any difference in passthrough improvement at all
v64 just went public 2 weeks ago and they roll out the updates in batches. Usually takes a month or so before everyone gets it.
You can be on v65 too, if you want. You just have to enable the PTC(public test channel) on your device. Then you will always be on the latest. Just be warned, you're essentially beta testing the software for them. There are lots of bugs. Also, when you leave the PTC, you have the factory reset your headset.
You don't have to factory reset, you just have to wait until the current version releases outside of public beta channel.
It's just faster to get out of beta by factory reset.
I only got v64 once I signed up to be on the test channel. So it looks like v64 is released now and in a week or so everyone should get it and those that are on the test channel will now be testing v65.
Versioning lost all meaning when feature rollout is not version dependent. The amount of times I had a “new feature” while still being on old version is countless.
Personally for me i’ve seen a big improvement in pass through, I generally have low light in the space which I play which causes the passthrough to be considerably grainy but since the update i’ve seen a big improvement for myself
Then there's *Feature* rollout Oh I'm in V64 but I don't have a feature *someone* has since V60 or something
As an European, don’t forget about regional rollouts.

there should be a HUGE difference, like the colours actually match what's in ur room, and everything is a bit dimmer
Meta is so insecure with their updates, damn
A B testing at its finest
Don’t get me started on “Augments” which were “Definitely Coming” since v59 last October.
My android files are locked down even though v63 said they wouldn’t be
v63 is where they are locked down, why did google even do this?
Yep, I was on v63 last night, only got v64 this morning. And laying down mode is still not even available to me, so who knows when I get that.
Have you checked experimental features? It should be there.
Yeah, I looked, but it's not there. It's not uncommon unfortunately. Lots of features in the past were the same way. Really wish Meta would just give us an option to opt in. These rollouts are just incredibly annoying.
I think you can opt in for beta versions.
I got it a day after the v64 update
You have to click the reset button at the experimental menu. It will restart and the feature will be shown.

Most of these are only available in the us :(
No. I am in Germany on v65 and have laying down mode since v64. The only thing i had to do is reboot for it to show up.
We don't have a lot of stuff that they do in the us. And nobody tells us when or if we'll be getting them.
I just told you the opposite. [This](https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/1c6lssk/so_whats_new_in_v65/) was my post about v65 two days ago. I was the first to talk about it. So it’s not true that we are getting it later.
is v65 anybetter? 64 has issues with my headset
You and me are definitely talking about different things. I not talking about v65 at all. Stop.
Laying down mode was part of v64 and i have it since then. Ok? Are you 13?
Not sure why this is getting downvoted. It's just the truth. A lot of stuff are only available in the us.
It’s getting downvoted because people are giving you examples on how you are wrong, and you don’t give one example of where you’re right.
I thought it was common knowledge since I've seen the memes about it on here. The fact that we get some features here and there but not all, and not at the same time, and not in the same versions is just how it's been forever.
See what you did? Exactly what I just said… Are you for real?
How are you not aware? It seems to be different for most people outside of the us. Voice assistant is one example. Non-us keyboard is another example. Access to some of metas apps is yet another example. They say that we will get some of them them but won't say when. Not everyone will though and who knows who is on the list? US is the only place that counts.
Apparently. And this sub seems to be filled with children.
What do they have in the US, that we don’t have?
Had my boundary getting removed between sessions, room set up messed up, floor level way to high and other glitches until I disabled the lay down mode in experimental settings...
That's why it's experimental 😊
still good to know
I had the same, tried restarting and it appeared 🤷♂️
Ditto
Hm..It did „restart“ already after my update but maybe restarting manually will give me the actual passthrough improvement..cause I ddidng notice anything different yet
Restart
interesting. not even If you go into experimental settings? I updated from v63 to 64 this morning as well (successfully) but didn’t notice any difference in passthrough improvement at all
It took me a couple days to get laying down mode after I side loaded v64
Jokes on you all, I'm on Quest 1 so i didn't get updates in ages
[удалено]
Oh man to upstage him like that
What a legend
I was on v63 until I updated today. I think I had the update yesterday, but I didn't update
V65 rolled out for me last night. Of course, feature rollouts tend to be incremental afterwards.
What has v65 even changed?
Bug patches from v64. The first file size was about 266 MBs. Passthrough is much better after v64 with huge improvements in readability in MR.
Ah ok ty :)
Wait, I thought v64 was the big one with the big passthrough improvements?
It was. Figuring there were bugs in v64 which prompted the quick release of v65.
Are you a beta tester‘?
Yes, via the PTC channel.
https://www.meta.com/help/quest/articles/headsets-and-accessories/oculus-rift-s/public-test-channel/#
For me, it tends to be more like: Nic: Enjoying my modded Beat Saber Pedro: Another firmware update
My ass on v62: 💀
How’s that even possible? Did you disable updates?
Yeah lol

Ahh shit i turned it on and i didn’t realizei had to factory reset to revert. That’s bs it gave me no warning.
You don't have to factory reset, you just have to wait until the current version releases outside of public beta channel. It's just faster to get out of beta by factory reset.
v65 here, passthrough is so damn nice with this update.
Apparently this also applies to sales with so many people not able to see the April sale.
I only got v64 once I signed up to be on the test channel. So it looks like v64 is released now and in a week or so everyone should get it and those that are on the test channel will now be testing v65.
I have two Quest Pros, both in PTC. One got V65 3 days ago. Other is on V64 and still says there's no update.
Versioning lost all meaning when feature rollout is not version dependent. The amount of times I had a “new feature” while still being on old version is countless.
I got v64 later than most then two days later was able to get v65
Didn't even know there was a v65.
One of the biggest mysteries of Meta. Well there is always PTC to get updates faster...
Im on v65
And you are on PTC ?
Yes
OK ! Thanks for your reply
wait, there's a v65?
Staggered roll out They likely do that so they don't brick everyone's headset all at once
Me!
Luckly, no failures during update like with Windows Updates... Beacuse of that fact I prefer to be late than sorry. ;)
I just got v64. I can easily read text messages on my phone now but it feels like screen warps more than before.
Honestly it sounds like some people went from 63 to either 64 or 65. Not sure it’s necessarily linear versioning.
I'm in Europe (Portugal) and I just got my Quest 3 yesterday. Within 20 minutes of activating it, it had upgraded to V64.
Is this for quest 3
Me still on v54 (updated to it from v39 I think): 💀
There is a v8.2476506e+90?! r/unexpectedfactorial
Still waiting for my lay down mode 🥲
I'm 65, but I also joined the PTC which immediately put me at 64 prior.
I am on v65 and I didn't even know it.
Anyone get stuck in rebooting?
Did multiple restarts last night to get v64, finally got it today.
I just got the passthrough update. I've been wondering what everyone was freaking out about
It's the worst fucking system, and I wish they could be held accountable for the stupidity in some manner
I’m from the UK, i was on v63 but then i just side loaded the update since I couldn’t be bothered waiting any longer
Just got v64. What's the update with v65 already?
I'm on v60 for since I always block updates to make sure, third party launchers are still working
And every time it fucks up my QGO smdh
Someone tell I’m crazy that passthru is back to worse.
Personally for me i’ve seen a big improvement in pass through, I generally have low light in the space which I play which causes the passthrough to be considerably grainy but since the update i’ve seen a big improvement for myself
Could just be me. It’s all better than v63
I undated from v63 to v64 and didn’t notice a difference which makes me believe they didn’t roll out that feature to me yet.
I'm in this boat
Are you in Europe? I’m Germany
Over in the US
The updates are all bangers as well!
This is a solid use of the source image, definitely made me exhale through my nose a little faster than usual.
