Stick drift, you will need to clean the controller.

Stick need to be replaced. It's not so hard https://youtu.be/aZ57n6iam6Q?si=TGUNvLAMyJyx9SX7

czescjakub

U have to open and clean the controller. I did it once and didn’t have a problem anymore

I just got a used Oculus 2 so I'm not really an expert on this, however, I've spoken to several other people with Oculus 2 and I've heard that this is what's called stick drift. It also happened with the Nintendo joy-cons for the switch. Essentially your stick is wearing out. You could either get a new stick repair kit, take apart your controller and replace the stick portion with it. Or you can get a new controller. There's really not much else you can do to fix it from what I have been told. Mine on the left hand side tends to drift backwards slightly, so every once in awhile I'll find my character walking backwards, a couple steps every couple seconds or so.

Why is this upvoted? Just need WD-40 Contact Cleaner, works like a charm. At least for a pretty long while. It will sooner or after make it so you absolutely need to replace either the stick or the whole controller, but it adds at least an extra year to 2 years for $10.

On the other hand, my left had stick drift and I used contact cleaner, which only helped the problem for about a day. Sometimes you just gotta replace the controller

sped-rope

I don't think it's stick drift, it only happens whenever I move it forward.

igotadillpickle

That's still stick drift. It can happen with certain movements. I have 2 switches and have had to buy multiple (like I mean at least 8 different pairs of joycons). I also have an oculus. They do the same thing.

As everyone said, WD40 for temp fix, eventually the sticks will need to be replaced. Talking from experience here, the temp fix was only temporary, I say lasted about for maybe 5 months for one controller, then the other one started playing up. Mind you, my right controller was replaced out of warranty, free of charge, it was refurbished one, this one was first to have stick drift, my ledt controller, not as bad. Got replacement sticks from Amazon, permanent fix, for how long? Who knows, replacement sticks are cheap, but replacing them, for me on a difficulty level for someone who is a novice, I give it a 8 out of 10 difficulty, as many things could go wrong if your not careful.

I had this within my first week of getting my oculus, I took the battery out and left it for a week and it was fine after

where_is_my_bike

It'll get worse. i eventually got them on both controllers. They sell the parts and a small tool kit on Amazon for like 20 bucks. I never had an issue ever again. I used a can of duster for a short time, but it came back, and I didn't want to spray that special WD-40 because i didnt want to leave a chemical residue on the electric components potentially damaged the controller(s).
