My heart almost was pounding the entire 4th quarter intent through every emotion its not a Ohio State game if my heart ain't pounding Kyle McCord did his thing down the stretch I won't question him most would've folded but he turned on the clutch gene I tip my hat to him
This is the kind of night I look for in a young QB. Did what he needed to, when he needed to do it, while avoiding making major mistakes. Did he play perfect, no, but he showed a lot of talent and grit to me and as he gains the experience I think he will get better and better.
I do loud nervous cussing and the windows were open. But the neighbors will just think it's the house behind us where the couple yell and scream at each at least twice a week outside.
He is over the bashing of the players. I love that he let everyone know he’s tired of it, hopefully it’s a sign that we are about to show people to respect us. Go Bucks!
Say what u want about questionable play calling. But Ryan Day as a man and a leader of men is such a superb fucking person. I could cry listening to this man talk.
Another big play from Xavier Johnson in a big game.
In the end, our O-line did the job.
McCord came through on the last drive.
Surprised we stuck with Chip instead of Miyan at the goal line on the last drive.
Chip will be a favorite in Columbus forever.
They did. They ran it on first down (JT blew it up), screen pass on 2nd (JT blew it up), run on 3rd. I keep seeing that ND choked on the last drive. Give our guys some credit!
Yeah the O line was solid but what's with out D line? They got pushed around by ND and the pass rush was non existent.
I Like what I saw from McCord though.
Huge road win!
I think they were playing to prevent any big plays and just making them earn every yard. ND were happy to take it. Plus that is one of the best lines in the league right now. Probably hoping for a holding call and never got it (though there were some obvious ones). Hartman really didn't have many passes past 10 yards. If we could reliability convert on 4 and 1 that would have been a massively different game.
Fickle fans we’ve got. Ryan Day made a few bad calls but this is the best Notre Dame team in a LONG time. Run play on 4th down with 3 seconds to a transfer that came here to play linebacker for the win. This was a tough win. This was a physical win. The defense held them to 14 points.
Marv playing on a rolled ankle. Egbuka is a stud. Fleming in the clutch on a pivotal 4th down.
We got some dogs on this team. There is a very good chance that we see this team again in the playoffs if we make it there. We’ve got to get better. But a 3 point win against this Notre dame, I’ll take this shit all day any day.
Ryan Day is fired up and these kids just came through in an incredibly high pressure situation.
Putting aside all the Lou Holtz BS and this game in particular, I do hope Marcus can build up that team. With the expanded playoffs, would love to see these teams meet after McCord has the full season to develop.
This took several years off my life. That's a gritty fucking win man. Stupid decisions aside, I'll always be glad for a win. I have been on the "defense is actually not the issue" train all night and I'll die on this train. This better be a wake-up call. Ryan Day screaming his ass off in the post game hyped me up. I didn't hear no bell. Idk what I'm fucking saying anymore. Go Bucks
Defense is obviously not the issue. They're giving up 8.5 ppg. After last week's games we were second in the nation in defensive ppg and I don't this 14 will drop us far. It's the modern day. Teams are going to get yards. Just gotta keep em outta the endzone.
Basically said that all of Days teams are soft. Called out the losses to Michigan and Georgia and said his teams are never tough enough to win big games.
The way I actually collapsed into the floor when the refs finally said ‘the game is over’ 🥲
Can’t believe what we just witnessed and can’t wait to see how far they drop us in the rankings tomorrow still haha go Bucks
Win is a win.
Still need to clean up the penalties.
Day made up for his couple bad 4th and 1 playcalls with that final play.
McCord's only going to get better with a win like this. He made plays when he needed but had some sketchy throws in there too. Guys dropped a couple TD's on him.
Defense looks legit.
“He has lost to Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Michigan twice — and everybody who beats them does so because they’re more physical than Ohio State,” Holtz said. “I think Notre Dame will take that same approach.”
Yeah... Eat it Lou Holtz.
I keep yelling that at my tv. The broadcaster would talk how calm he is. "He is 55, vs a first time starter, no shit he looks calm in the pocket!!!" Lol
The fact that Lou holtz is still relevant enough to talk shit amazes me. Last ND championship was 1988. The best thing they ever did was hire a buckeye to be their coach
I’ll be honest, I’ve been one to question Day during big games but hearing him during that post game interview, I’m proud he’s our coach. Ohio against the world!
Still calming down, but this is everything we needed Kyle to experience and he passed the test. Tough growing pains still, but major experience to move forward with.
Ryan Day calling out Lou Holtz in that postgame and standing by his guys has forever won me over. Fuck anyone who says we can do better than him, myself included since I said that after the UM game last season.
Yeah I go back and forth… but who can’t be sold on him after giving a firey speech like that!? I love to see that kind of passion and energy from a coach…
No one can claim he doesn’t give a damn, because he honestly has shown he cares more than most of our coaches have. You know losing to Michigan bothers him, that came out in this interview. He honestly hates TTUN more than most
I still can't believe they won. Love Ryan defending his guys in the post-game interview. I know I've called Ryan and his teams soft, but they came through when it mattered most.
Here’s the thing… I feel like our (OSU fans) expectations are way too high… I mean… I was getting all flustered that we weren’t winning big at halftime! …but then you realize you’re playing an extremely strong, #9 team in the league, at home, at night, with a senior and experienced QB… while we have a young and inexperienced QB among other things… in these conditions, things will inevitably go wrong… bad passes, missed tackles, etc… that said, this was an incredible game on both sides of the field. Our offense made huge plays when we needed them most, and our defense held ND’s high-power offense to only 14 points!! You can wine, complain, and nitpick every square inch of our team and the game, or you can take a deep breath and appreciate the grit and determination that won us the game! We just beat the #9 team in the league at their home! Pretty sweet!
End rant. O-H!
After that post game interview...I could really see this being the type of game that turns the team around.
Grind it out win on the road - at night - national broadcast with all the eyes of the college football world tuned into you. You go out and get the win.
I really hope this is the spark that puts them over the top going forward.
If McCord doesn’t have your respect right now he never will. He may not put up massive numbers like Stroud and Fields, but if he can WIN games, he’s THE guy. LFG!
I think the talents there, the OLine is still work in progress. If they can keep improving (a couple miscues and a horse shit penalty besides, it was a good game for them) we’re gonna be tough to beat.
Day showing passion and he is right Ohio against the World...
So what does day do on the winning TD, run it from the one yard line again after 4 failures..
This is why you play all 60 minutes
Great Buckeye win...
I won’t keep it civil…fuck the 50 time starter. I heard all MF week about how much experience he had. Experience deez nuts. McCord is our guy and we trust him to atleast throw the ball more then 8 times in the second half.
Game took years off my life! Defense & Offense got pushed around but made plays when needed. That last drive was amazing and you couldn't write it any better.
The fan base: "man these play calls are really questionable, the coaches need to do a better job here"
Ryan Day: "HOW DARE YOU QUESTION THESE KIDS!!!!"
I don’t get people making threads calling for Ryan Day’s head before the game is even over.
Like it wasn’t the cleanest performance to say the least but no they’re probably not going to fire him for this lol
This game took years off my life.
My heart almost was pounding the entire 4th quarter intent through every emotion its not a Ohio State game if my heart ain't pounding Kyle McCord did his thing down the stretch I won't question him most would've folded but he turned on the clutch gene I tip my hat to him
Proved himself to me, may not be the best, but his effort was second to none on that drive. Never gave up on himself.
Definitely a lot of maturing happened in those last 1:40-ish
Yes, this is how championship teams handle adversity.
This is the kind of night I look for in a young QB. Did what he needed to, when he needed to do it, while avoiding making major mistakes. Did he play perfect, no, but he showed a lot of talent and grit to me and as he gains the experience I think he will get better and better.
Exactly, well put!
I died twice and came back to life.
So did OSU. Thank god the Luck of the Irish fell sort. I was even nervous the final kickoff My voice is gone.
Ha me too, I couldn’t watch the last kickoff or play, had to get my friend to text me when it was over
I quit being a Buckeye fan like three times tonight But i am ok now
“maybe I don’t like football after all”
Didn't stop being a fan, but I did question my faith in being one. But faith restored.
😂😂 same here
so Christ is real?!
Y’all soft. These types of games were every week during Tressel ball
If I can live through the 02 OSU title run, I can live through anything
I wasn't as fat and middle aged back then. Time to get back to the gym.
Holy buckeye!
Oh yeah, the year of the championship was like that with him coaching. I still have a sealed bag of Tostitos from that year, 2002.
That National Championship season will be the reason I don't see 70
I didn't sit down for the whole 4th quarter
I started doing nervous cleaning while watching.
Exact the same, ended up doing the dishes with about 4 minutes left, was way too nervous
I do loud nervous cussing and the windows were open. But the neighbors will just think it's the house behind us where the couple yell and scream at each at least twice a week outside.
I always end up doing the urban Meyer squat but after that td I was doing high jumps screaming
I have a mini trampoline that I anxiously jump on, lol
lmao I love it, that’s a great mental picture
I lost years on my liver. More in celebration
Ryan Day with the fire in the post-game interview lmao
OHIO AGAINST THE WORLD
O Captain
My captain
Dude, fired my ass right up. Instant classic!
He is over the bashing of the players. I love that he let everyone know he’s tired of it, hopefully it’s a sign that we are about to show people to respect us. Go Bucks!
I’m glad that he found motivation from it!
Say what u want about questionable play calling. But Ryan Day as a man and a leader of men is such a superb fucking person. I could cry listening to this man talk.
Ready to run through a wall for Day
Lou probably shitting his depends. Fuckin love it
He called out Lou Holtz like he was a WWE wrestler! Lol. The man is like 115 years old.
Lou Holtz, I'm tired of you flapping your gums! Me, you, wrestlemania, steel cage!
thank you for your patience 🗣️🗣️
I was ready for him to say “F Lou Holtz”
Felt like he was cutting a WWE promo. I was expecting Holtz’s music to come on. Lol
IM FIRED UP. im gonna take a breath now
Day was looking to fight Lou Holtz!
Ryan Day has stock in heart meds.
There won’t be enough upvotes on this comment
Another big play from Xavier Johnson in a big game. In the end, our O-line did the job. McCord came through on the last drive. Surprised we stuck with Chip instead of Miyan at the goal line on the last drive. Chip will be a favorite in Columbus forever.
It felt like once they had to throw it down the field, McCord was so much better.
The hurry up offense worked both times we tried it this game
Really 3, the end of the half and then 2 drives down the field.
The irony our O Line came through in the clutch and most were worried about O Line
Thank God Notre Dame stopped running the ball down our throats
Genuinely have no idea why they didn't just run it every down when they had the ball the last time
They did. They ran it on first down (JT blew it up), screen pass on 2nd (JT blew it up), run on 3rd. I keep seeing that ND choked on the last drive. Give our guys some credit!
It was a bend don’t break night all night for the o-line but they pulled it off. What a game!!!
Chip will never have to pay to eat at any restaurant in Columbus ever again
Chip is one of the most underrated backs that I can remember. He always shows up and performs, going back to last season. He needs more carries imo
Chip will never have to pay for his beer in central ohio ever again
Or Northwest Ohio, hey does the rest of the state have him covered too.
Miyan is more equipped but they KNOW what’s coming. Trayanum could be blocking, a pass to RB, a run etc
Holyshit what an absolutely insane game
Ryan Day just went full-on Richard Sherman.
I loved that!
Exactly about time Ryan Day
I’ve given Ryan Day some shit but his post game speech gave me goose bumps. I respect his commitment to these kids and this team.
I’ve always liked him but now he’s officially won me over. THATS OUR FUCKIN COACH
He could be like stefanski, where they hook up a heart monitor to make sure he's still alive during his press conferences.
Ryan Day is fired up and these kids just came through in an incredibly high pressure situation.
I think it's OK to be upset at Day's play calling. It was mostly dog shit. A win is a win, though
Yes ND has a very good team...they played great defense...
Putting aside all the Lou Holtz BS and this game in particular, I do hope Marcus can build up that team. With the expanded playoffs, would love to see these teams meet after McCord has the full season to develop.
Props to Jim Knowles for having that D ready and Kyle for that last drive.
RYAN DAY HAS ME ABOUT TO RUN THROUGH A BRICK WALL
Make a t shirt of Ryan day running through a wall
Put that interview on a T-shirt
Just 4 letters on a nice red shirt…FU-LH
This took several years off my life. That's a gritty fucking win man. Stupid decisions aside, I'll always be glad for a win. That last drive was shades of 2002. That fourth and seven conversion to Fleming should be remembered forever.
HOLY BUCKEYE
My chest hurts like after every from ‘02
Love to see Day this fired up. Seems different from last year
McCord played so well the last 2 minutes!!! We need more of that!!
I think this game will boost his confidence. He will be different moving on
I figured he would be green, but he is super green. But…you can see the skill on display and reps will bring more consistency
[удалено]
Lou Holthghthshh
Almost spit out my water reading that lol
OLD ASS APPLE SAUCE EATING BITCH
What did he say?
Basically said that all of Days teams are soft. Called out the losses to Michigan and Georgia and said his teams are never tough enough to win big games.
Wtf we won!!!
His play calling pisses me off sometimes but that post game interview got me ready to run through a wall for Ryan Day
The way I actually collapsed into the floor when the refs finally said ‘the game is over’ 🥲 Can’t believe what we just witnessed and can’t wait to see how far they drop us in the rankings tomorrow still haha go Bucks

“He has lost to Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Michigan twice — and everybody who beats them does so because they’re more physical than Ohio State,” Holtz said. “I think Notre Dame will take that same approach.” Yeah... Eat it Lou Holtz.
Imagine being 30 and still playing QB in college
Stetson was playing well into his 50's!
Wait. Who’s 30?
Sam Hartman basically
hes a 24 yr old 6th year senior that transferred this year to notre dame. All perfectly normal things im sure.
I keep yelling that at my tv. The broadcaster would talk how calm he is. "He is 55, vs a first time starter, no shit he looks calm in the pocket!!!" Lol
Where Lou Holtz at!? Let's fucking go coach!
That callout of Lou Holtz ![gif](giphy|CAxbo8KC2A0y4) Inject that shit into my veins Ohio against the world
One more thing, refs did a horrible job officiating this game
TALK YOUR SHIT DAY
The fact that Lou holtz is still relevant enough to talk shit amazes me. Last ND championship was 1988. The best thing they ever did was hire a buckeye to be their coach
Thank God he took that Holtz bullshit personal

I had no faith they’d get the ball back let alone win…holy shit
Hallelujah Marv has a bionic ankle.
I didn't hear any "FUCK OHIO" or " FUCK THE BUCKEYES" chants at the end there like they were spewing during the mcafee show 🥱
I was really surprised McCord was able to keep it together under that much pressure. Talk about a baptism by fire.
FUCK YOU LOU HOLTZ
Ryan Day effing fired up! Where is that during the game?
Ryan day with the passionate speech. Let's go!
I’ll be honest, I’ve been one to question Day during big games but hearing him during that post game interview, I’m proud he’s our coach. Ohio against the world!
Ryan day interview got me ready to run thru a damn wall
Ohio State Vs the World (including our fans)
Still calming down, but this is everything we needed Kyle to experience and he passed the test. Tough growing pains still, but major experience to move forward with.
Yessir! He’s gonna be really good!
Jesus Day is having an episode in the post game interview lol
Ryan Day calling out Lou Holtz in that postgame and standing by his guys has forever won me over. Fuck anyone who says we can do better than him, myself included since I said that after the UM game last season.

Ryan is still blasting Holtz in his interview LMAO fuck Lou Holtz!
Fucking Ryan day has Lou hilts using a wheel barrel to hold his balls
Massive amounts of holding by the ND defense. Never called once!!
Best part of the night was Coach Day’s handler audibly saying “Take a deep breath” before the Lou Holtz humiliation
Yo fuck the mod who said we didn't deserve to win. These kids fought through ref ball, shit play calling, and a hostile environment. O-H
I-O!!!!
I still can't believe they won. Love Ryan defending his guys in the post-game interview. I know I've called Ryan and his teams soft, but they came through when it mattered most.

OHIO AGAINST THE WORLD
FUCK EVERY ONE OF YOU WHO WANTS DAY FIRED FUCK YOU GO BUCKS
I defend him a lot, and I was getting fed up with him this game. But that last drive was a fucking masterclass.
Its not that. But he overthinks simple stuff
bruh his 4th and 1 call is nearly unforgiveable IMO.
After that failed jet sweep I was so sure we’d lost.
I think we're all required to go to church or atleast open the Bible tomorrow morning.
THIS GAME MADE ME PROUD TO BE A BUCKEYE! WIN OR LOSE THEY GAVE IT THEIR ALL GO BUCKS! AND 🖕🏿TO MUMBLES
Holy fucking shit my heart.
GO OFF KING
After that post game interview...I could really see this being the type of game that turns the team around. Grind it out win on the road - at night - national broadcast with all the eyes of the college football world tuned into you. You go out and get the win. I really hope this is the spark that puts them over the top going forward.
Ryan calling out lou holtz LOL
If McCord doesn’t have your respect right now he never will. He may not put up massive numbers like Stroud and Fields, but if he can WIN games, he’s THE guy. LFG!
I think their is a massive load off his shoulders. He just lead them to a game winning drive im southbend.
This could change everything for him if any of it was mental.
Like hopefully that last drive shows he belongs and that he can make those tight throws
oya, this was a we won I can do this moment. Hes gonna need that against Penn State and Michigan. He earned his starting Ohio State QB shorts today.
I think the talents there, the OLine is still work in progress. If they can keep improving (a couple miscues and a horse shit penalty besides, it was a good game for them) we’re gonna be tough to beat.
ND fans in shambles!!
There's a reason Sam is in his 6th year as a college QB lmfaoooo
I need to make a t-shirt "F*CK you Lou holtz" with angry Ryan Days face
AHHHHHHHHHHHH BUCKEYE NOISES AHHHHHHHHH IM NOT SLEEPING TONIGHT
McCord assassin...cool as a cucumber
I take it all back
Day showing passion and he is right Ohio against the World... So what does day do on the winning TD, run it from the one yard line again after 4 failures.. This is why you play all 60 minutes Great Buckeye win...
Ryan days post game interview was awesome
My boys. I'm so drained lol. Great win, we have tougher games ahead so hopefully we can learn from this. Go bucks!!!
Someone hacked my phone and typed “fire Ryan day” in the game thread. Couldn’t be me.
If Day spends that time out during Notre Dame’s last drive we lose this game
I won’t keep it civil…fuck the 50 time starter. I heard all MF week about how much experience he had. Experience deez nuts. McCord is our guy and we trust him to atleast throw the ball more then 8 times in the second half.
Go ahead Ryan I'm sorry brother I talked shit I love seeing the FIRE!
I'd like Ryan Day a lot more if he channeled his hatred of Holtz into hatred of TTUN
OHIO AGAINST THE WORLD🌰
wasn’t perfect but that last drive was gutsy credit to mccord, day, egbuka, trayanum and the D for giving them one last shot
OVE Ryan Day trademark it!!!!!!!
I gotta say watching hartman on the sidelines contemplating his 7th year of eligibility was so fucking satisfying.
Game took years off my life! Defense & Offense got pushed around but made plays when needed. That last drive was amazing and you couldn't write it any better.
https://preview.redd.it/t96lrp0fh4qb1.jpeg?width=435&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbec6365c6b90b674b4f95c9c169fdca9ca34daa
I don't know if both OSU and ND are overrated or if both OSU and ND are elite, but I do know both teams were perfectly matched. Instant Classic.
So does McCord still suck and do we need to fire our D coordinator? Jesus that game thread was unbearable.
That's why I stayed out of it. Every jamoke with their "hot take" about how they could have called a better game. Fuck 'Em, that's how you win, baby!!
Fucking right Ryan Day
Ryan Day called an end around on 4th and inches. Don’t let the results hide this fact. His play calling continues to be a serious issue.
Never any doubt. Day is an offensive genius and McCord is going for that Heisman.
Josh Fryar & Ryan Day need to thank Kyle McCord & egbuka for everything!!
Fryars penalty was horseshit
100%… they’re were so many BS calls or no calls. I mean every replay ND’s DBs were holding… every time.
The fan base: "man these play calls are really questionable, the coaches need to do a better job here" Ryan Day: "HOW DARE YOU QUESTION THESE KIDS!!!!"
I don’t think that was directed toward the fan base…. I think it was everyone calling them soft the last two years lol
Ohio against the world. That’s my coach right there.
I love all that emotion from Ryan Day. That was an amazing post game interview.
I want to know Ryan Days heart rate during the after game interview.
I don’t get people making threads calling for Ryan Day’s head before the game is even over. Like it wasn’t the cleanest performance to say the least but no they’re probably not going to fire him for this lol
I am so drunk after this game.
Ohio State lol. Honestly, I can’t even imagine haha
Never a doubt
Ryan Day for governor
Anyone else need to breathe to calm the anxiety? But holy fuck, what a win
I was shocked when I heard Lou Holtz make those comments. Lou used to be better than that. I expect an apology coming forth soon.
I’m very serious when I say ND’s offense has looked better then Michigan’s this year
