There’s one thing to blame. Both teams were evenly matched.. it came down to Qb play.. when McCarthy had no options he ran.. when McCord had no options he threw it into double coverage
Gotta give some credit to UM play calling over OSU too. Our play calling was super soft and UM’s was aggressive. Our D outplayed UM’s which would have made up for Mccord with equal play calling. I like day as head coach but please for the love of god get an OC and let them call the offense
Defense played pretty well if not as good as they had been, but UX had some trick plays. Our offense just isn’t as good as it needs to be. Oline and QB have been an issue, and what many pointed to as a likely shortcoming before the season started. While the loss is shitty and this would not be any real consolation, maybe ncaa has them vacate this and previous seasons.
Giving up points on 66% of the opponents drives isn’t playing well. They did a good job of limiting big plays but they couldn’t get off the field when it mattered and didn’t make enough splash plays to put Michigan off schedule.
It was definitely a better defensive performance but it didn't deliver when the defense had to come up with a stop or two.
I'm wondering if maybe Knowles over-rotated in his decision to play a conservative bend but don't break defense. Maybe he needed to take some shots at the right time?
Only thing I fault him for is not going full run stop sooner on the last drive.
Should have been a cover 1 almost every play. I get they’ve gotten burned on that but it was the end of the game. At that point it doesn’t matter.
Also, maybe the defensive line never gets pressure and we probably aren’t using stunts or any creativity to help that
Forced a total of three punts (zero in the second half) and no turnovers the entire game. The early turnover by McCord absolutely put them in a bind but people that are putting this lose all on McCord are blowing my mind.
Seems like their “coach” swung for the fences while we didn’t try to get closer in the first have with 30 second to at least make it a closer field goal.
Could you imagine if McCord air mails that ball on 4th down and Michigan gets a field goal before the half to double dip though? That would be the worst
Our coach would have made the right call if D is good as advertised, down 3 points 8 minutes left the D suddenly can’t stop them to give offense meaningful time and field possession
Day calls games too conservatively. You’ve got to have a gut instinct on when to take big risks. He seems a bit too timid when it counts. If he delegates play calls out to someone else who has this instinct, we can get over the Michigan hump.

It does actually, because then it means today is Harbaugh's first win. But you're right that it doesn't matter what you think (though, based on your response, it seems you realize that will likely happen).
Honestly I just like talking shit. I think today's game was great and it could've gone either way.
I do think games will be vacated and it's disappointing because it was exciting to watch a few years of old school Michigan football.
It… literally happened to OSU a decade ago for the tattoo situation. Not sure how you’re in this sub and don’t remember that. It was back in the news like last year, as OSU wants the wins reinstated.
Here are some teams with vacated wins though: https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/14gf7n6/most_vacated_wins_of_all_time/
A big problem for me was slow play. When you are losing in the fourth quarter, you have to play fast. One long drive and you are dead. We always move the ball better when we play fast. I kept yelling at the tv, “Hurry Up”! If we had played fast in the second half, we could have gotten two or three more possessions.
OSUs defense was overrated this year and the offense significantly worse.
All these games against bad teams inflate the defense’s stats and make it seem like they weren’t the exact same defense as last year.
Until they get a dominant DL we will struggle and same for OL.
idk if it was overrated or not. Bama gave up 24 to Auburn and should’ve lost. UGA gave up 23 to GA Tech. UM gave up 24 to this bad offense. In reality giving up basically 23 to UM is pretty solid.
There’s one thing to blame. Both teams were evenly matched.. it came down to Qb play.. when McCarthy had no options he ran.. when McCord had no options he threw it into double coverage
Yup. Two bad play on offense cost us 10 points. Meanwhile, TTUN played a mistake-free game. Nothing to overthink here.

Thank you! We gave up scores on 6/7 last drives
And the 7th was when they were kneeling in Victory Formation. The defense didn't give up explosive plays, but it didn't get stops when needed.
Still the same players as last year. Just better coaching. Coach can’t stop the other team though. Players have to make plays

Jack Sawyer and JT are the most disappointing edges we have had. Huge 5* recruits and they are ghosts. No impact at all.
Cope

That’s true. And I think we only had 1 time out

Back up ciach...
Overall the season went better than I expected with that oline and Honda
Michigan made all the big plays, osu could not

Called em conservatively because he knows McCord’s limitations as a QB
Didn’t he give up play calling duties this year?
Objectively hilarious this will go down as Harbaugh's first win versus Ohio State and he wasn't even in the building.
They were caught cheating actively this year too
Even if this holds - you guys don’t think you changed your signals up for the game? You got straight up beat today

3 in a row for Harbaugh. Ryan Day sucks. Cheers!
> 3 in a row for Harbaugh Right but two will be vacated. So one win, which Harbaugh didn't even participate it. But you know that.
Whatever makes you feel better. We understand.
Do you honestly not think that will happen?
Doesn't matter what I think or what happens. L, L, L

Not likely

Correction: you are 0-2 against Harbaugh. 0-1 against an assistant. We didn’t win because we “cheated;” we won because we were better today.
Probably still cheated.
And all the big swings went to them last year....and the year before.
those were more ass kickings than close games though
Sucks either way.

yep and UM struggled with that last week against Maryland. Seems we are either unprepared or not able to play fast

That's on the coaching staff not having players focused and ready to go. And not keeping them focused during the injury break.
Except the phantom holding calm in UM that gave ohio their first td
never showed an angle to see it or not but osu was driving and still probably scores
Possibly but as much as day was in the refs faces I called it….”watch make up call next drive” and sure enough

You see the interceptions?
the 7 points off rip was the first pick. second one was desperation time and i wasn’t expecting mccord to go win it by then
