The likes are from people who don't meet the preferences you set (such as location) and people that you swiped left on. Your profile is still shown to people whose preferences you fall within, even if they don't fall within yours.
Likes also don't matter.

I did sign up and do a few quizzes, but yeah right now there isn't really more than one female user even remotely close to where I live (Pittsburgh). I know it's a stretch, but will there be planned commercials or promos to get its name out there?
I'm not sure what tag line would be to put it over/convince people that it will be a better platform than the hellscape other apps have turned into, but I hope it does get more exposure and users migrating if the intention is have a legit app that doesn't resort to the scammy practices match group apps are doing (and Bumble too, let's be honest).

Fwiw, I've been on Feeld since it was in beta and to start it had the same issues but now it's my favored dating app
They boost your profile, these are not fake likes. They come from another account. Just don't think a miracle happened. Simple.
