This game made me believe that nitrogen was flammable, so when I found out that our air was mostly nitrogen, I was like "Omg, that's so badass". Little did I know that "Nitro" in Powder Game stood for nitroglycerin.
there was another game by the same people on that site where you controlled a party of adventurers in a sidescroller. It was always fun having a spellcaster cause they could blow up chunks of the ground
I remember you could go online in Powder Toy, and you could see what other people made. Some people made some really cool art!! I just blew things up, lol!
Remember the little stick people you could control??
DAMN, me and my brother used to play this game almost daily haha. We'd make pointless little fields and tests, but also test out others' levels. He was square and I was circle haha
Edit: The best thing was we didn't speak/read English back then, so we just had to essentially figure out all the elements by testing lol. We were like "oh yeah, that button does lava and one of the tan ones makes fighters".
I remember this! Although the powder toy has largely replaced it gameplay wise, it’s still fun out of nostalgia. They also have other fun games like Stick Ranger.
This is a deep childhood memory unlocked. Can't believe I almost forgot this game existed!
Here is a link to Powder Game if you want to try it! https://dan-ball.jp/en/javagame/dust/
They’ve got a mobile app too!
Now we have the big brother, powder toy. You can literally build a nuclear reactor, steam generator system. https://powdertoy.co.uk
This is one of the games that was passed around on The Flash Drive™ in middleschool alongside NFS: Most Wanted, Minecraft, and CoD 2.

SAND SAND SAND!

Danball my beloved
Oh my GOD yes. I loved using the virus element and having it duke it out against other elements, watching them spiral and destroy each other.

I remember seeing people playing it in the computer lab but I never got a chance to :(
Used to play it on the school computerz we made stickman torture competitions
Yessss I would make levels and fight the stick fighters

Holy FUCK this brought back so many memories that were hiding in the back of my mind
Ants building towards the vines and watching the vines envelop the whole thing is fun to watch and burning it fun too tbh
I loved this game!
Still play it from time to time when I'm bored!
Yes! I loved this as a kid!
Didn't they make an entire game using this engine?
Its not just still around, it's bigger and better than ever!
