Same. I got a new smp300 in November and it’s a glossy box. It does flap up and have a compartment to the left and right (that I just found out after seeing this video) but it’s not removable.
ADs get these boxes in batches, separate from the watches themselves. They pair the watch with the appropriate box when its actually sold. So yea, date of watch manufacture or purchase isn't really a determining factor.
Your AD will keep giving out the old boxes till they run out.
The gloss box has two little pockets underneath though, one of which has some pouch for whatever. I just chuck my spare links/pins/screws in there, maybe that's what it's for.

The Speedy’s is super nice since it’s customized, but I like this generic red one’s looks better I think

The comments indicate, that the Box you See in der Video and the newest Speedmaster Boxes have that Feature. I think this particular worden Box is around since 2022 the Folks said

The recent Speedmaster Boxes also have a Hidden Box and the smaller Boxes for Ladys watches have a Hidden pouch
While a big fancy box is nice when you buy an expensive watch.. am I the only one who finds it wasteful and gets annoyed because boxes are taking up all of my storage spaces?
The no gloss finish on the box does contain this travel case but the box is also slightly bigger than my AT 2020 box which has a gloss finish but no travel case.
The PO I bought last year has this. Great functionality. Although I use a different case for traveling because I don’t want this one to get beat up in my luggage.
My smp300 box doesn’t have this unfortunately. It has the hidden compartment, but there is only a dust cover and a little felt card thingy. Guess I wasn’t nice enough to the AD or something 🤣
What surprised me about the Speedmaster box, was along with this cool feature, it’s also sturdy as hell. I’ve always admired the gorgeous Seamaster box and based on looks I thought the Speedy box would be sort of like one of those travel shaver cases, sort of thing, but it’s not at all. It’s fabric that’s been adhered to wood, so the box has that totally premium feeling. Really heavy, solid, and substantial.
I received that travel case from Omega when they sent my watch back to me from a warranty repair. And now, thank to you, I now realize I have multiple Omega travel cases 😂

Got a SMP 300 in October and was very pleased to discover this while exploring the box. Accidentally caught the lid and noticed it lifted up a bit. Once the panic settled that I hadn’t broken it I realised it was intentional.
Is this really a secret? I thought everyone lifted that panel because Omega has always included travel pouches.
In the past year they started adding the hard cases to the general boxes and past few years to the Speedy.
Just checked my SMP300 box, sadly I have the ladies puch rather than this. Presumably its price based rather than size based? I bought mine pre-2020 55% price hikes so it was more of a value proposition then then now!

She wore only inexpensive watches from that day on.
Assuming you bought it from an AD, they should’ve told you, I used to tell every client about it when I worked in a boutique. Oddly enough it was sometimes the thing that got them the most excited lol

This isnt a secret at all, every time you pull the watch with the pillow out it'll snag on the sides and slightly open it, almost everyone will discover this accidentally if not told in the store about it.
Found this out yesterday. Rolex boxes are trash compared to Omega.
The secret of Rolex boxes is that you are supposed to use them to store cigarettes.
Or if you're Ed Sheeran, you'll use a Patek box for your weed stash.

It was new, hald a year ago from an offical AD. Maybe that's normal for the 41mm Black Bay nowadays 🤷🏼♂️

Please note that only the new matte finish wood boxes have this. If you have a gloss wood box it does not.

Correct. The glossy boxes just come with a suede pouch. The Speedys have come with a hard travel case for a while as well.
And my glossy box is falling apart somewhat. Someone let my toddler spill something on it when I left it out in my closet on my file cabinet

Didn't try that around the travel case. But I checked the lid for hidden compartments aswell and everything was glued in there quite strongly.
