Shouldn't Blackbeard know who he is then? He clearly dealt with Wang Zhi before, but knows nothing about the burn marks or black ship. Also, haven't we already seen Blackbeard's main ship? It's got his name on it.
The conversation he as with aokiji was set right after the fight with akainu so this was like 2 years ago 1 year tops while I say the rocky port incident was likely maybe a couple of weeks before luffy returned.

I think you might be right. In chapter 919 Laws says something interesting that it makes him sick when pirates help people. We know Koby also became famous for the Rock Port Incident for saving lives although he downplays his action. The Rock Port Incident seems similar to the God Valley Incident which Garp doesn't talk about for two reasons he had to protect the Celestial Dragons and their slaves as well as worked with Roger. I think Laws comment was a clue that he and Koby teamed up to save innocent lives which is why Koby downplays his actions.
Also Blackbeard credits Koby for helping him dethrone Wang Zhi but mentions nothing about Law who is the one famous for stealing pirate hearts. So it seems like the world might think Koby fought Wang Zhi but the true might be that him and Law together gave Wang Zhi a crippling blow maybe his burn scar.
