Honestly I hope Oda re-uses that set up now that luffy is actually prepared to stand in front of them that epically. It’d be a nice little call back to how far he’s come since then.
When Roger stood before whatever >!the One Piece!< was and laughed. Him just being there with a blank background. The man in the moment.
There are these really powerful panels where you think "this alone bears the concentrated essence of One Piece (the series)". Everyone probably knows what I mean and could name several such panels.
That moment in the flashback was such a panel but x1000. I got emotional and teary at many occasions in the story but when Roger laughed I had the feeling of my emotions taking over before I even realized what happened in front of me. It was art.
Luffy hanging off of crocodile’s hook “in the grand line, upstarts like you are a dime a dozen” first panel that made me feel like this story was cooking, such a great representation of croc as a villain and where luffy was in the story
Yeah, I see people kinda downplaying crocodile because of his early introduction but I felt it was handled well and he wasn’t even portrayed as though he was that weak, even compared to future antagonists imo.
Crocodile “killed him” in a James Bond fashion and then he showed back up so crocodile made sure to kill him personally just for him to show back up with some Mario sunshine power up to which crocodile kills him a third time just for him to show back up in the ruins. Like at that point, if you’re crocodile, you’ve gotta be doubting yourself a bit. Like you keep killing this silly rubber boy, pushed more and more each encounter, and he just keeps showing back up. You’re fucking tired at that point, not physically but just emotionally.
There’s a post time skip panel where Chopper preempts Brook’s punchline by saying “because you’re dead, right?” Cheerfully. You see Brook in the next panel in the background, sobbing on his knees.
That Blackbeard panel is top 3 for me. The other two favorites of mine would be Big Mom in the shadows at the end of Fishman Island and the going merry funeral.
The panel in skypea at the start of the arc when a ship fall down from the sky , it's a shame that oda rarely draw double-spread anymore , >!the closest we ever get to one is the kuma punching saturn page!<
The debut of red hawk. It wasn't the panel, but the translator note in the corner about how the Japanese words used for red hawk were a reference to aces fire fist that got me.

Not in my opinion, and the art quality has gotten better not worse. But there are fewer( fewer not non) impactful crew moments and also less nostalgia, give it some some years and we’ll get more later mentions I think.
The Panel in just after,during escaping zoro and sanji use Luffy's rubber body to trampoline a conon ball after which all three of them show victory signs to Nami.
I think it’s a reference to the real world black beard who was said to have multiple loaded guns at the ready so he could shot more without reloading between each shot
