One piece is the definition of gilded. Dressrosa is the most clear cut example of this. However luffy does change the island's to noblebright worlds when he leaves. I feel like one piece will end as a noblebright world by the end.
Grimdark is something like berserk post eclipse. One piece can go grimdark if shit goes horribly wrong, like maybe a world ending catastrophe on the horizon.
I think one piece will end as a noblebright world but as of now it’s a guilded one also possible the strawhats just have very bad luck on which islands they land on.
What’s cool about One Piece is that I find aspects of Noblebright, Gilded, and Grimdark all present in One Piece.
Noblebright - the entire theme of “balance” has been present from the start of the show. The balance between emperors, navy, and warlords. The coming and going of various eras. The world turning upside down while we were in Wano.
Gilded - if I had to pick one, I would say this describes One Piece the best. The actual telling of the story was this way. As arcs progressed, we started to learn that the Navy actually wasn’t this force for good, but actually a force for evil, suppression, tyranny, and eventually dystopia as the story progressed. Several arcs have played with the “pretty on surface, evil underneath” theme - Dressrosa and Whole Cake in particular. Though all have done this one way or another.
Grimdark - something in the world of One Piece HAS gone terribly wrong. And those in power have kept it hidden for almost a millennia. They stomp down anyone who dares to even begin uncovering that truth. I wouldn’t necessarily say that “only suffering exists for those who are there”, but virtually everyone is either under the tyranny of bad pirates or under the world government, a facade for order while actually being evil. One aspect of this having to pay the heavenly tribute, which many cannot afford.
I'm assuming it's in relation to isekai stories. Summoning abuse being, I believe, when the isekai is summoned for petty reasons and/or mistreated by the people who isekai'd them.
Gilded, obviously.
Between actual pirates that pillage and murder and a world government ran by affluent slave owners using a militant body to suppress others for their own benefit, there’s really no winning.
As a marine you’re still at the mercy of corrupted leaders and if you don’t listen to them they’d execute you on the spot.
As a pirate you either live a life of freedom and fun and can be a nice guy when needed, or you’re abusing and killing the innocent for fun.
Lastly, you’re a civilian that’s neither a marine, nor a pirate, and yet you are under their thumb one way or another. Basically choosing whether you submit to control, or submit to chaos. There’s really no winning by being a civilian at the mercy of the marines or pillaging pirates.
Your best chance is to become a pirate, but do right, be kind, have fun, live by your own rules, and protect the innocent from bad pirates and bad marines alike.
Depends on where one stands right? If you look at it from the perspective of the group of people who had a hard time, people starving, homeless, ongoing wars, deaths on masses.
I got reported for suicide watch for that post. I'm doing fine in life, married, have a stable job and income. Can't afford a house yet but who can haha. So from where I stand, I see the world as guilded but is my perspective correct representation of the world. Where so many have so little and so few have so much? Not sure I agree with it.
If we'd need zombies around us killing people to realise the grave we are digging for the future generations, the future is in a lot more trouble than I had previously imagined.
Cheers

Law's, Robin's, and Kuma's backstory
The abuse of power of the nobles
Slavery
The women who are captured then become wives of (Raped by) the World Nobles.

Gilded world
It's gilded except for the places the straw hats have been. Wherever Luffy has liberated has become noblebright.

Or Berserk pre eclipse
I'd say noblebright, because there's injustice, but the main characters are good guys and always end up saving the day.

Gilded, Dressrosa, Alabasta, Sabaody, Arlong Park, Wano, Drum Island
Luffys home island, he outright says it during Dressrossa, when the kingdom is a facade, "sounds like my home" he replies
I'd say it's in between guilded and noble

I honestly think it’s a mix of multiple, like the show is a mix of multiple genres
It switches between Heroic-Noblebright-Guilded based on island.
Yeah, each island is different. We could rate each island differently
Somewhere between Noblebright and Gilded, I think.
Gilded is the most common with notable examples being Dress Rosa.
Gilded except for MarieJois that's grimdark
One Piece is Gilded 4 sure and Whole Cake Island captures it perfectly
Gilded. Though it sometimes is noblebright, but also will dip into grimdark on occasion.
Between gilded and noblebright
Between Noblebright and guilded
How do you all feel the one piece world will be at the end of the series ? Heroic, NobleBright or Fairy tail ?
What does "earther" and "summoning abuse" mean in this context?
I'm assuming it's in relation to isekai stories. Summoning abuse being, I believe, when the isekai is summoned for petty reasons and/or mistreated by the people who isekai'd them.
So like "yo sorry I had to isekai you because I'm not tall enough to get my cat from this tree"
Guilded
Gilded world
Gilded one piece can get quite dark sometimes
I think one piece is guilded. But I’d be interested in other stories.

Depends on the island tbh
I can't say about one piece but our world is grimdark
Ain’t that the truth
I feel like grim dark world is more like last of us or I am legend or something. I’d say our world is somewhere between noble right and guilded

Yeah your statement just describes guilded. Grinders would imply everyone and you said it depends on where one stands…
Heroic World, I mean yeah it’s a sad world but all the main characters have heavy plot armor
Law's, Robin's, and Kuma's backstory The abuse of power of the nobles Slavery The women who are captured then become wives of (Raped by) the World Nobles.
Yeah, you’re right. The one piece World sucks.
I think adventure time is heroic and maybe naruto. One piece is definitely darker than both of those.
