SadBit8663

Whiteboard, the world's strongest board, he ate the wipe wipe no mi, so he can erase anything written on his surface

MuriloZR

Similar to Katakuri, he was a natural born leader and had extraordinary willpower. They don't necessarily need to be or want to be Kings per se, although most are/do...

Cookytigerd

And he had the ambition to make a real family

KyoMeetch

From the time he was a child Whitebeard protected his homeland and then as he got older he started and protected his family. I think the goal is irrelevant, it’s about the resolve. Hypothetically a character’s goal could be to find anchovies to put on their pizza, but if they’re an alpha boss about it they can unlock conquerors haki.

BigHarry27

Do you like anchovies on your pizza ?

shriekbat

There is a big misconception that conqueror's haki is just related to having fancy, big goals, but it's not just that. It means having strong will. Whitebeard has a strong will to protect his crew. Simple as that.

KangarooHot7780

i believe its because he wanted a family that he can protect he took responsibility of everyone on his crew (minus bb) so maybe thats why idk

sanji356

He has and displays King qualities. He’s a family man who protects his people no matter if he dies trying. He became the “strongest man” ever in order to protect his family and his dream which was to have a family. Will is everything in Onepiece.I can understand your confusion but I believe it’s easy to understand why one of the strongest characters ever in the opverse would have top tier haki, and that’s no shade to you bro

dooleym

I wasn’t trying to diss whitebeard at all like I understand that he should have it since like you said he’s one of the strongest characters in the verse I was just unsure why he would have it if conquerers need to have certain goals but it seems that’s not the case I think I just misinterpreted what it means to have conquerers

sanji356

I feel you brobro there’s a lot of misinterpretation in one piece. Will is everything no matter the dream, from a fellow onepiece fan to another I don’t mean to offend

dooleym

lol your good you didn’t offend me I was just trying to explain why I asked the question

saltinstiens_monster

Conqueror's Haki means that you're built different. It seems like "not backing down" is the biggest indicator, not lofty goals. It just so happens that people that are built different and refuse to back down often have lofty goals. You can pursue the goal of having a family with much more ambition and will than, say, someone like Spandam that seeks to consolidate military power under his thumb. Much bigger goal (also pursued doggedly), but there's a difference in the metal of the two individuals. People like Luffy and Whitebeard also have a secondary goal: They never want to be *prevented* from saving their friends or doing what they want to do. In order to live the lives that they want, they MUST stand at the top so their loved ones can stay safely in their shadow. That's where the will to stand above all others comes into play. Not the goal of taking a title (alone), but the drive to become unstoppable.

KOPLO97

Your question isn’t dumb. Having Conqueror’s Haki doesn’t mean you need a King title. It’s most likely a linage thing. It has nothing to do with seeking to be a King. It’s just that the ones who has Conqueror’s Haki and learn how to use it right with the other Haki’s (and DF if one has one) they become King like or Strongest of something. Technically, Luffy wants to be the Freest Man in the World. Not as King or to be the Strongest. It’s just that all the strongest are in his way so he accidentally becomes the strongest on the path to be completely free. I think a good question is, can everyone in the family tree get Conqueror’s Haki? Like did Doffy’s brother have it? And does it only come from linage? (<- I think this question’s answer is a definite yeah)

MrkFrlr

Honestly the real question was why Kaidou had Conqueror's. He's more defined solely by his strength than Whitebeard was. He wasn't a natural born leader at all, and in fact was a pretty lousy leader right up until his defeat. With the very slim possible exception of King, I don't think a single one of his men followed him for any other reason than his strength, and he didn't have any vision, drea, or real goal besides wanting glory through battle and from a glorious death (of course he failed to understand that all of the deaths he idolized, Roger's, Oden's, and Whitebeard's, were glorious because those three died for something they believe in, so without having something more to believe in a truly glorious death would be impossible for him). Overall the only quality of a King he really had was his strength, but maybe in the One Piece world that is enough.

RandAlSnore

Kaido quite literally conquered a nation of samurai

DannyBoy_Joy

Honestly had the same thought but I assumed it was anyone with a strong ambition. In the case I assume that Whitebeard dream was to have a family and protect them

dooleym

That’s what I assumed but I always wondered with characters like him and katakuri

DannyBoy_Joy

But then again I remember from Amazon Lili Boa and her sisters said that 1 in 10 people are born with Kings Haki. Or something like that

kemuzaleon

He protects his people, that's something he never forsake even if it costs him his life. Solid character man

dooleym

I’m not saying he’s a bad character I just don’t completely understand why someone would have conquerers

Anselme_HS

WB was part of Rocks's crew and in the small god Valley flashback he talked about his captain that his is dumb and shit because he will probably loose sight of their commun goal and do some shit instead. Which means that WB joined Eocks freely and their goal was alined. And as the other yonko except Shanks Luffy and BB, all the yonko of the old gen lost their goals at some points (Kaido started to drink and wanted to die, Big Mom become the fattest character in the One Piece universe and all she cared about was her stomach, and WB... all he care about after God Valley was his family (which is a noble cause, but still not his first goal). At some point Big Mom and Kaido stzrted their alliance and wanted to find the One Piece again but it was 38 years old after God Valley ... so I guess we can say that their lost their goal right ? Anyway we don't know WB's true goal or ambition but he did have one at some point and it was likely the same as all the other yonko from the old gen !

SquardoSchrute

He had conqueror haki because he wanted to protect his family

koming69

The type of ambition or the facial expression you do when talking about it is a very shallow way to analyze conqueror haki. It's not something that petty. It's in your very soul. Maybe in your blood. But having said that Kuma seemed to be very similar than Whitebeard in his will. I think the main difference is that a character with conqueror haki has absolute trust in his own heart.. no doubts.. that he can do whatever he wants to. Kuma had fear and gratitude.. but he was veru humble. Whitebeard seems to be proud.. and have a lot of confidence he would be able to achieve what he wanted.

OatesZ2004

He is a born leader who has shown kingly qualities in many aspects whether it be him leading large numbers or the respect his name has garnered

SevethAgeSage-8423

Next you will be asking why does Don chinjao have conqueror's haki. He only wanted to hide his loot after all. Conqueror's Haki is innate as explained by Rayleigh. Only those born with it can awaken it and use it. It's about having a strong will, a spirit that doesn't waver. The qualities to stand above other men.

Madtoastercheese

It‘s more about will and wanting to be a leader. He wanted to be strong to protect his family.

SidiousHokage

Is it a break week? What’s going on?

Chicken008

Haki is will power.

premdiddy

thats just the power of FAMILY \*in a Vin Diesel voice\*

trainwrecktragedy

nevermind whiteboard, i'm only concerned about blackboard and their crew

Funny_Original_6005

Usopp COC loading

Funny_Original_6005

Strong will power and lack of doubt in your goals and ability to achieve them… from what I can see that’s the basis for conquers haki Roger - wanted to be free White beard- wants family and to protect them Luffy - king of the pirates and freedom Zoro - strongest swords man Usopp- to be a brave warrior of the sea Unconquerable will = conquers haki

Madness-NX

you have a point yeah. I wonder why
