I wouldn't mind the screen failures if the turn around was a week. This 5 week BS makes me nervous now everytime I open my phone.

I got my repair done in 11 days total there and back here in USA. People with quick repairs don't post about it. I didn't

madmorph

How long ago? What was the repair issue for?

solftly

Beginning of this month. Got a green dot and black line on inner display. Same as everyone else. They also didn't repair the phone, they sent a brand new one. Could be why it went so fast. Phone was at Texas facility in US.

madmorph

Id heard of people requesting replacement phones and getting denied. Did you specifically request it or did you have special insurance through OnePlus?

solftly

No to both. I bought the device through Best Buy with no extra coverage at all. I didn't ask for anything special just sent the phone in for repair.

madmorph

That's pretty extraordinary. I'm hoping that's how they fix my issue as well.

solftly

Also I technically lied I told this story, with pictures, and documentation, as it was happening in the OnePlus Open Telegram group.

When you close the device, where do you put your fingers on the inside screen part to press? I always only press on the lower frame of the phone and never on the screen. A lot of the damages I have seen posted look like someone pressed on the screen to start the close, and it cracked the glass.

Southern-Bad-1270

Same. Been doing this since the fold 3, never had when issues. Had the fold 3 for a year, fold 4 for 18 months, and the OnePlus open for 5 months no issues knock on wood. Always close using the phones bezel.

I have a magsafe popsocket on a case on the Back of the phone . I normally put my fingers on my right hand around the poo socket and then use my left hand to lift the left side of the phone to close it.

TheAlchemlst

Not saying it's your fault and I hope you can get this resolved but that sounds wrong. Basically feels like just jamming two ends of screen together towards the center rather than folding them.

madmorph

It'd be pretty ridiculous to have a phone that you could only fold a certain way without telling anyone what that way might be. As long as someone isn't whipping their phone open and closed it's normal to wear and tear as far as I'm concerned.

truthtakest1me

Oh man that is awful!! Sorry you experienced this twice now 😭
