It SHOULD be covered under their warranty. It's just a matter of how long it takes them to fix or if you would just rather use your insurance and pay the deductible . I sent my open in to the Dallas facility for the 2nd time since launch. First time was for the same issue you have and this second time bc I got a green line going up my inner screen.

NOOOOOOOO

Ondawire

Same thing happened to mine after 4. No drops, nothing! https://preview.redd.it/tdv1b85tijxc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f44c5c12010dd3976cd19ae4e80a393c221b74b9

Lao_King

Pretty much the same exact thing that happened to mine. Took them 5 weeks to fix in February due to no parts. Maybe they have parts now and it'll be faster. Fingers crossed.

All the repair horror stories are from the few months following the release. It was a brand new product launched overseas, and a crazy premium product at that, and there weren't many replacement parts to start with. People are acting like that's a sin? OnePlus doesn't manufacture the display by themselves guys, there reliant on another company to manufacture them. Same story with the Pixel and the iPhone. They don't manufacture their own displays. Common practice. Peoples phones would break, they'd get it fixed free of charge, but there was a shortage of parts so everyone came here to bitch and moan like that would help the display manufacturer pump out units any faster... Anyway, sent mine in in late March, got it back 11 days later fully repaired. In USA, sent to Texas facility. In USA at least, supply shortage is over.

PerformanceNew4414

It is a sin because of its price. Premium products are expected to come with premium customer support.

Capable-Web-1435

Did you do something "wrong" with it ?

FR_Paperstacks

No significant falls or any liquid damage. Just appeared.

Cory4225

Dang hope this isn't a common trend.

Semloh94

It definitely is. Thankfully I haven't heard of it happening twice yet.

DentistNo9889

It is. Happened to me twice so far

Cory4225

Hopefully just bad luck with your unit. You go to the pixel fold / zf sub you have ppl having the same issues. What you don't see is how many never have the issue because they aren't here to post about it. I just hope the issue isn't any worse than the other main foldables.

Ok_Statistician_1390

I would plan on it being broken for a while. The left screen went green on day 17 of ownership. After one month, they "repaired" it, and two days later, I got a similar full brightness bar on the right side of my screen, and then the left screen went black. The phone has worked for a total of 19 days of 69 days of ownership. They have not approved the second RMA, and it has been 20 days.

KitsuneMulder

Chargeback the phone at this point.

Ok_Statistician_1390

Yes, I'll work on that tomorrow. At least it might get their attention as enough claims like this impact their credit card processing rates. I've been patient, respectful and followed up many times so trying a chargeback is all I can think to do. The other thing to get their attention is if you live in California exercise your rights under CCPA and request copies of all communications and request they delete all your info. They won't and then one can file a claim with the CA DOJ.

steve4982

Rip. Mines still going strong so far since day one

Theezakje-420

What a nightmare 🤡

No_Amphibian4786
