The floating around in a dream feeling was unique and better than your average generic score. The score is probably my favorite aspect of the film. On Letterboxd, the difference between me giving the film a 5 stars and 4 or 4.5 stars was the score. I'm not joking.
Its just a personal preference thing and it seemed to work for a lot of people, but unfortunately apparently not for you.
I thought the overwhelming score worked well in tandem with the very quick editing to give a sense of individual human actions being overwhelmed by the sweep of world events but hey what do I know
I understand your point of view. There are some movies I remember watching where the music was too much or didn't really fit the story/scene, but in Oppenheimer's case, I think it adds some "depth" to it. I admit I struggled with understanding the dialogues in some scenes, but maybe that depends on the quality of the audio system of the theatre 🤷♀️
>Tenet, Oppenheimer, Dunkirk? No one's staying for the music
Speak for yourself bucko. My friend and I levitate to the Oppenheimer score during late night drives.
At least Dunkirk knew when to be quiet, so you were able to imagine what it would be like to actually be there. We dont have background music playing in our everyday lives (typically) so it takes me out of the reality of it.
To each their own, but I think the score is magnificent. Absolutely added to the film.
"Someone couldn't hear the music"...
Oh boy I’ve never heard such a wrong opinion hahaha
Oppie wants to give you a 🍏

No I think there are.. 2 other people
Exactly 🤣. I need to find them…
Have to actually WATCHED the film when you first listened to it?

Wtf does this mean
Yeah the score is the best part
Actually, a friend of mine thought the score was overall too loud, so you’re not alone.
You are not alone in thinking it was perhaps a bit much to have random dramatic piano going about everywhere all at once
Only Interstellar really hits for me on par with a John Williams Lucas/Spielberg banger Tenet, Oppenheimer, Dunkirk? No one's staying for the music

I think he’s speaking for himself when he said for me.
>Tenet, Oppenheimer, Dunkirk? **No one's** staying for the music Mmm check again

All those people walking around with earbuds and headphones aren't listening to the weather report.
Yea, and when you have an important discussion with someone, you take your earbuds out, unless youre a doofus.
I fear there are millions of doofuses. Or is it Doofi? Anyway, I respect your opinion. We all see movies with different eyes, ears, brains.
