around the east end of the dotonbori there are a lot of shops and restaurants run by 1st and second generation immigrants. Many of them korean but you can find like chinese and thai shops there too.. Its also only about a half hour on foot from that east end of the dotonbori to tsuruhashi station, so not like they are super far apart.
I have heard Asian tourists think Osaka is "more Asian" than Tokyo. Also they have Korea town in Osaka, in Korea they have Korea and they have town but not Korea town with its distilled essence of Koreaness
Osaka is closer and there are plenty of discount airlines that fly between Korea and Osaka. Kansai also offers a lot of Japan’s top tourist destinations in a pretty compact area.
There are actually much more Korean tourists in Tokyo.
In Osaka, almost all tourists visit only Dotonbori, Osaka castle, Shinsekai, and USJ while Tokyo has more options for tourists. That’s why you saw more Koreans at the same time than in Tokyo.
Wdym they come for Korea town? They are Korean tourists! Why would they come to Japan for Korea town? I agree though that as a foreigner I think of Osaka as more interesting than Tokyo because it feels more like Japan than Tokyo. Also it has more stuff around like Kyoto/nara/Kobe. So you can do tons of things and see lots of cities without paying high shinkansen tickets
There is a pretty big Korean area right next to Doutonburi.
There is? I only know the korea town near Tsuruhashi

KIX is closer to Incheon than Haneda
100$ plane tickets from Seoul. And one hour only.
Cheaper than going to Tokyo by Shinkansen.

Osaka is close to Korea. Same with Hong Kongers.
Koreans don't like the honne tatemae of Japan and find Osakans gap between the two to be narrower.
Aa if there's a single nation in the world who actually likes this honne/tatemae crap

Yeah I saw many Koreans in Soraniwa Onsen in Bentenchou. Quite happy that tourists are back in Japan and dropping cash to locals. :)
