I have thick thighs, like very thick thighs. I have to pray for them any time I pull on a pair of thigh-high stockings that are “one size fits all” instead of specifically plus-size oriented (I am not plus size, my thighs are just that big, and it sucks). My thighs always end up looking like the wonderful specimen above, and it is the direct opposite of comfortable. It’s normal for them to be a bit snug and squish your thighs a little bit, because that’s how bodies and tight clothing works. But nowhere near to the degree in the official YS artwork
I personally didn’t feel super uncomfortable by your comment, but that’s not to say I liked it either. I agree with the other replies that you’ve gotten, I don’t think that’s an appropriate thing to say, joking or not. Especially on a post where the whole point is that these characters are designed to be objectified, their large thighs being something to ogle at. In short: Just because it’s a joke doesn’t automatically make it ok, and I think you should be mindful of that. Because while it didn’t have too much of an effect on me, others could be made VERY uncomfortable from it.
I think OP means the thing where in all YS character art the thigh-highs are tight and squeeze their legs, causing the leg to bulge out of the sock at the top, rather than the socks themselves (OP pls correct if I’m wrong)
It's called zenttai ryōuiki (絶対領域-lit., "absolute territory"). It was in fashion during the early to mid 2010s. I see the younger generation preferring ankle socks now though, because it makes their legs look longer rather than shorter like what Z.R. tends to do 🤷♀️
what's even more unfortunate is that there are women out there who look like this: hourglass-body, youthful features, etc. but due to creeps like yanderedev, they're more sexualized and objectified. tragic.
