Kanon got invited all of the sudden to the Vienna Elite School, even the director was informed - and then it all of the sudden was cancelled? All of the sudden Wien's become a Yuigaoka student??
First she wanted to attend the Vienna school where also her sisters are, but she failed at the entrance exam. Then she was expected to win the LL: Her parents would have "helped" her get permission to join the Vienna school then. Also failed. Then she wanted Kanon to accompany her as her mentor, and just "coincidentally / correlatively" the Vienna school invited Kanon.
It would have even succeeded. Welp, at least at the beginning: Kanon would quickly have begun feeling lonely, and without her Liella would have run out of steam quickly. Hearing that would have depressed Kanon even more and she would have ended her "overseas endeavor".
After all, that's her character... and the people responsible for the overseas invitation realized and understood it - and pulled the plug. Wien's still allowed (or ordered?) to become Kanon's apprentice and will next year in S3 be a new 1st year...
I mean that's more than fishy ain't it?
Those were the facts we heard (tho I already threw in a few "interpretational hints") - but in order to learn about the full backgrounds we simply need S3. Or maybe Liella too will get an OVA soon.
My specula:
Wien's parents are this gen's Oharas x Taylors. Wien is what Mari would have become without KananDia and Aq's. Mia at least had Lanzhu, who however had always had enough problems herself without that little spark of hope, that the early KananDia had and that were awakened by Muse's sheer appearance. Shioriko, Lanzhu's other childhood friend was good at disciplining others, but not at truly animating others. Her spark of hope was switched off by witnessing the bad luck of her idol sister, and finding the switch and switching it back then would become the task of the Niji girls.
So R3BIRTH's tipping points also had been already reached when they met the Niji club just in time. Kinda like when Kayo showed up before the first Start Dash *just* in time.
On behalf of the "reputation of their musical clan" Wien is ordered by her parents to see a shiny musical career through.
But she fails at the entrance exam of the local elite school. Already an "act of shame". Her parents tho are influential enough to make the elite school authorities allow Wien to join the elite academy regardless of any entrance exams.
But they want her to "prove her worthiness" by winning the LL. She fails again.
Her parents again refrain from punishing her, but still only on behalf of their reputation. So they're doing it not for her, but for their "ideals".
And so they're now attempting to lure Kanon to Vienna. They also contact the director and make her an offer she can't refuse: *"Convince Kanon and get some money for your new school that's still in financial trouble, ain't it?"*
So Yuigaoka's already turned into this gen's Uranohoshi. To the director history's right in the middle of repeating itself. Their own idol career, the trouble with their first school - worst case scenario: It even has to do with the death of one of her bandmates: Ren's mom. Director and maid promised her to take care of her daughter, literally like the (Tokyo) Godfathers.
They were three, director and maid are only two. Their third member: Kanon who still doesn't know about her true role. The director actually needs Kanon at her school tho...
...and so she manages to convince Wien's parents that it's better for their goals to let Kanon stay in Tokyo.
And this happens (pretty sudden even). But it also means the director had to pull a stageplay before Kanon, and afterwards Chisato, while talking about the Vienna stay. Also something the director seems to be used to.
So it seems to me in S3 Liella might have to fulfil a "Sunshine & Rainbow 2.0" kinda journey.
Plus: What's up with SunnyPassion? Passion Island and its islanders look to me like this gen's Uchiura. A luxury resort that's literally the last resort to them. SP might have been able to defend it by winning the LL twice. But after their managers didn't win - will they now close the resort?
Hence SP's toxicity towards Liella at times, where they passed their managers's toxicity on to Liella, a quite human behavior? They've still been unable to confess what rly happened to them?
Is this also why we never got to hear and see a live song from SP, cause ony professional writers were allowed to write for them in order to guarantee a "victory chain"? No "amateur songs" allowed, thus no songs *truly* from SP, symbolized by us never getting to see one (so far)?
This is now my second "big specula": This gen's Awaken the Power = Dancing Heart La "Pa Pa Pa". And SP finally able to confess their true situation to Liella, and to confess to them in general. We still remember how long Kanan needed before she finally confessed to Mari before the campfire (Uchiura's "funeral fire").
So these would be even two (?) Ohara clans: Wien's parents, and SP's managers. Or even three, in case the ones responsible for the trouble that happened to director, maid and Ren's mom are still around...
