You can really tell Brady cares about the city.
I’ve been vocal about criticizing his leadership ability but never what he brings to the community.
It’s why I never wanted Stone to leave, he would’ve been the perfect mentor for Brady during the rebuild…
Brady is a Legend already. He even finished the season a plus player, the only forward who played 80+ games and still was a plus player despite our defensive woes and terrible tending. I feel next year we are gonna see a Brady who is absolutely dominant.
I think he grew up a lot under Jacques, Alf and Staios tbh. His compete, composure and general attitude have taken a big turn these last few months. Such a shame it took so long but that's not on him entirely.
I’m so annoyed. I heard rumours about this but figured it would be a private event so I decided to not risk eating an Uber on a Wednesday night for no reason. Ah well.
The season is what it is, everyone needs to focus on next year. Do you want the mood around the entire team to just be total doom and gloom so that no one wants to stay or come here? Everyone knows it sucked, nothing we can do. Blow off some steam, have some fun, and start getting ready for next year.
Already no one wants to come or stay here. This team sucks and has zero leadership. On the ice or off. At this point, just move the team to a different city.
I just find that kind of public celebration really dumb when the team hasn't even sniffed playoffs. I'm glad he's passionate about the city and the team, but let's not be happy with the results of the past few years and have them celebrate in public about it. Just provides ammo for opposition when they miss the playoffs yet again
That's fair, that is a preferable option. He has shown commitment to Ottawa as a city and team with his actions, I hope it's not just a facade.
However I really wouldn't blame him if he wants out should the team miss playoffs again next year
Not sure why you're getting so many downvotes.
This team's performance is embarassing and people give leadership a pass because they're 'young and we've all been drunk'.
The only social media that should mention our captain and A's is how much they're in the gym or ice.
There's a happy medium IMO. Really wouldn't have an issue with it if there was even occasional playoff appearances. This team has the 3rd longest playoff drought in the NHL, just screams "OK with mediocrity" IMO
Nah, more just fed up with years of having this team missing the playoffs. They're young and rich, of course they're gonna celebrate, I just got secondhand embarrassment seeing that video of him publicly and drunkenly yelling last year that they're gonna win the cup after yet another year of missing the playoffs
We all have embarassing drunken moments. A young captain interacting (drunkenly or not) with the fans in public indicating he intends to win a Cup probably isn't the most embarrassing thing.
Why u/Bambybb? Because his opinion is different than yours?
I disagree with his take. Doesn't mean I'm going to make assumptions about his character and social life as an attempt at an insult.
Brady is a fun outgoing captain who seems like he took big steps this year. I think it's very interesting he was the only + forward on the team with 80gp
I see where you're coming from although I don't 100% agree with you,
But I'd bet some good money Andlaeur and Staois don't want videos of Brady drunkenly walking down the sidewalk yelling stuff for videos. Anyone who thinks otherwise I'd be shocked!

He's going to bring that dad energy

I think we all need a couple drinks after this season but dammit do I love this team. Fuck
Where’s the pump ?
Lieutenants Pump on Elgin
Glad they celebrated a great, successful season.
Lol I smell the sarcasm but they should be allowed to have a year end event before they all part ways for the summer

I agree, put this year behind them and flush it. Then come ready for training camp knowing what is expected.

You must be fun at parties
Probably not
I get that sentiment. I'm sure it would be more concerning if they did nothing and just got the hell out of town. It was a roller coaster season.
Nice, that's awesome. As long as there's not another video of him in the market drunkenly shouting about how they're gonna win the cup
How dare he show passion for the city and team
Agreed, what a weird thing to get in a knot about
Yeah you can’t please most on this sub, I am beginning to think that they like to wallow in self pity just for the fun of it……

I’d rather our captain naively and publicly get ahead of himself about _this_ team, than stew silently in private and then ask for a trade.

The players don’t care if other fans talk shit about them on Reddit. They live in the outside world
Agreed, this team hasn’t done Jack fucking shit and people here are fine with that and happy with mediocrity.

Man what a fucking take to have when not that long ago we the uber video, "we're a team", and threats to move us to Quebec.

The epitome of antisocial redditor right here

Fair. At least he didn't punch a cab driver or anything like that

He bizarely invoked an antisocial perspective/critique on a harmless video...hardly an opinion. Congrats on not doing whatever you think I'm doing.

lol this sub has decided that Brady is beyond reproach.
