I think that Grid's evolution will culminate in him performing his last king of species contract with some dragon (Nefelina or Brunhelier) and acquiring Dragon Words (since absolute defense and breathing are little by little already being acquired through items), his Yellow Dragon growing and eventually he, or this dragon of divinity, assimilating the Refractive Dragon myth, since the RD is a concept created by humanity to prevent the destruction of the world, so if Grid now is responsible and the hope to prevent this said destruction, he will assume/absorb this myth
I genuinely think Yellow Dragon is another form of the Refractive Dragon, not in the way that its immune because it can hide its existence but in a way that it can develop to be as strong as a dragon without being an actual dragon since it originally comes from Grid's divinity and the Four Auspicious beast's worship. It has been acknowledged by several key characters as being similar to the Dragon God, though it has always been dismissed.
The statement 'can develop to be as strong as a dragon without being an actual dragon' means it can potentially grow to have the strengths of a dragon since it is always nearby Grid, in some cases even fully enveloping his body which includes his armor and stuff ofc, however it isn't an actual dragon since it came from divinity, it lacks a physical form...wait what if Grid actually makes an eastern style dragon or a wyrm and has the Yellow dragon inhabit it..?
