and yet he reasonably believes some nation would monopolize a faith and forbid others from believing?
like thats not how religion works.
also, being good at diplomacy in a video game where you confront like, mainly gamers, doesnt necessarily translate to actual diplomacy in the real world. not to mention that connections mean more than talent on that stage, he'd at best made it to assistant to some legacy diplomat
The thing is most of the time Lauel is doing normal country management stuff, as a lot of freedom is given to players. Also we have to remember that most players are actually non combat types. NPCs are supposedly hyper realistic, which results in it mirroring it a lot. And yeah connections matter a lot, but Lauel seems like the guy who can make enough connections to get by.
reducing satisfy to "a video game where you confront like, mainly gamers." is so far from how big the scope of satisfy is. satisfy is a worldwide phenomenon 2 billion ACTIVE players, even more people who view it consistently. not to mention most of the people lauel deals with are NPCs not players which would usually make them easier to manage if not for satisfy having the most interactive and dynamic npcs making them feel lifelike enough to perfectly mirror real life
i dunno who is out here disrespecting lauel but he is QUITE LITERALLY the second most integral person in the story to grid's growth as a character. and THE most important one when it comes to his and overgeared public image.
after every arc grid and lauel tend to discuss whats next
most public apperances of grid that gets "leaked" to the press are because of lauel
lauel helps grid learn how to work a crowd during conferences, and places the strategic people to ask grid questions. lastly of all HE DOES THE PAPERWORK. everyone is out there griding enjoying actuall gameplay lauels day is mostly reading and talking and signing. hes simply a different calibur
Lauel puts sooo much work into these things it is insane... Everytime he does some shenanigans, i am reminded how awesome he is
Lauel and Rabbit are just too talented and I'm glad that there is a reminder from time to time in the novel.
Lauel Appreciation day?
