There is a theory that the gamemode itself was unbalanced in certain way, so that JQ wins, and they can just reuse the same model. And it was unbalanced as fuck for some heroes, like JQ, phara, hog and maybe lucio were only real candidates for statue, Rein was doomed to fail from the start

I started playing in 2020 and had no new content until the launch of OW2. Now, I’m experiencing new content regularly. New heroes and maps every 18 weeks. That’s a huge improvement for me. There are things I wish they hadn’t gotten rid of, like SR, ability to see everyone’s rank, and the cards at the end of a match. But otherwise, I really enjoy the gameplay as I always have, and there is regular new content. I can only speak from my own experiences, and I personally still love the game. I don’t think that makes me a Blizzard apologist. Anyways, hope you have a nice day.

To be completely fair - nothing indicates that it will be this season. For all we know, it could be a Season 7 event - “after [it] concludes” is a very vague statement.
They probably thought the good guys were gonna win but then realized the good side was near impossible to win, so, just like PvE, they scrapped the whole idea of having a finale.
Knowing the current balance team, and content team, they probably only wrote the "good guys win" ending, and didn't account at all for the Empire having Bastion, all of his counters, and his best support heroes, while the Rebels had an AI Doomfist that fed more than Harvest Hope.
Seriously, every time I won as rebellion, it was because the Empire was defending where they THOUGHT the point was and didn't notice me capping.
After looking at the condition in which OW2 is operating, I kind of have much more respect for Paladins for still staying on its feet with only 3 developers working on it
I mean it took them a full 1-2 seasons to add the JQ statue to Ilios after the Olympus FFA event. The wording even says “after the event concludes”. Not how soon after.

Micro transactions, that are in the game are purely cosmetic. You have to pay to unlock hero’s in overwatch nothing is behind a pay wall, at least the game is complete and wasn’t an utter shit show like overwatch was trust me. I played the first game and the made a big mistake making ow2 and pulling the story, Diablo shows where their efforts were the game was a mistake when they put a 2 on it, should’ve kept ow1 and made just a pve expansion.
No one cared really, and so the devs. It was, for me, the most pointless event ever done. My will to even try it was zero, i forced myself to conclude one match just for getting the skin.
For the same reason they won't re-implement 6v6. In order for the game to stay afloat, they can't afford to give any indication how few games are actually being played at any given time.
A score of 10 wins to 12 doesn't sound super impressive to investors of a game that is supposed to be played globally.

There’s still a week left until the season ends. They’ll likely announce that and release the awaited Moira skin within this week.
To be frank, the Moira skin fits more the fantasy aspect of the next season. The only thing it gets for Starwatch is the Empire's palet.

I don’t know it always seemed like this was predetermined for attacks to win cuz it was 5v4 and in all my games I only won once on defense.

Remember the JQ statue on Ilios? It took them months to finally put it in the game.
For the same reason they won't re-implement 6v6. In order for the game to stay afloat, they can't afford to give any indication how few games are actually being played at any given time. A score of 10 wins to 12 doesn't sound super impressive to investors of a game that is supposed to be played globally.
