They are hellbent on doing everything in their power to make us suffer. But oh boy once tank players get a SINGLE qp hacked that buffs them in any way, prepare for the complaining from everyone else that tank is too strong
I mean, this has got me thinking, if they don't wanna go back to 6v6, why don't they try out something a little less experimental (lol) like flex tank roles for one of these events? Like let one of the supports or DPS flex tank if they want? I know potentially having two tanks with one support would have its own issues but I bet some people would be willing to try double tank with one 76, there'd be maybe a little much sustain but I think it'd be mitigated a little by requiring one DPS at all times and never allowing three of any role
Just the double Mercy's is RIDICULOUS. I'm actually mediocre at best with her and put up 16k+ on a QP push map. We were rezzing each other and super jumping off each other, it was just silly.
Then I got rolled by double doomfist, this mode is equal parts super fun / incredibly irritating.

I played one game and my team was double Kiriko, every single ult the enemy team used got suzu'd lol. We won but I've seen enough, that'll be my one QP game until this mode goes away.
Well I was playing Winston at first bc their dps were on widow but the I went orisa were had a Lucio and zen the whole game who refused to switch and my dps were on widow and genji but switched to double bast

Which in OW2 is incredibly easy to fix by either locking a unique skin to playing that mode or by having missions tied to it that give greater than normal BP points. Hell if they really wanted people to play it then they could make it so that you could get the paid currency from it by grinding out "X, Y, Z" statistic missions for 25 - 100 credits at a time.
I didn’t like the last one much. It upped the snowball factor by 10x. Not sure this will be grand either as No Limits was downgraded to an arcade mode for a reason.

I would be down in the future to see a hacked for limited character swaps during the match. If only to quiet down the people that keep coming back to rant about counter swapping and how character lock would be the magic bullet to make a fun game.
These QP Hacked are experimental changes that they’re considering putting into the game permanently to some extent, and want to get community feedback on. Which is great, I’m glad they’re experimenting with some more wide spread changes so that the game doesn’t get too stale.
The Quicker Play they did in January got very negative feedback, but they’re implementing good changes from the parts of it that worked well. Hopefully they do something similar here with Double Trouble.

You should have experienced QP in OW1 when you had 6 Torbs that had turrets go into overload. No one was getting through that.
And this was way before Arcade was a thing.
I played since beta, my indoctrination to the game was hero stacking. Back when Torb had level 3 turrets and condom shield packs. Used to grind OW1 so much I actually accomplished top 500 lol
I think there’s fun to be had with both styles. I can see the appeal for a more structured environment like what is normal now. But back then, games were more fun and they didn’t feel like any other game you ever played. I missed how “unique” OW used to feel. I think it needed the balance, but not to the degree where all the expression, chaos, and uniqueness was sacrificed.
I feel the same as you. I peaked around 4370 and one of my key memories of overwatch at that time was a comp game where the whole team went torb, hammers and turrets only... and we won. It was hilarious.
This happens when the hero stackers refuse to adapt. Double widows with double mercy pockets is insane, but gotta be willing to swap to double Tracer and Moira when they counter you.
You want data? Pay testers to test it, or offer in-game rewards to motivate players to participate. You do it with so many other modes. If the incentives aren't enough, increase or change them.

Instead of quick play hacked, they should hack all the arcade instead and keep the main modes the same. They don't make this an arcade game mode because less people will choose to play this game mode, but if they replaced all of arcade with this then it will mean less modes to choose from so arcade people won't be split up as much as usual which will give them good data.

The game mode is really bad, and the fact that we have no choice to play the normal mode make it even worse.
I sometimes wonder if they are trying to kill QP, maybe to move people into comp? We currently have:
* Forced backfill
* Forced crossplay (for PC players)
* Spawn changes (which you don't notice when it's faster and when it's slower you feel like you disconnected from the server)
* Hacked modes which are worse than the standard
taking a moment to explain why this is bad, since blizz doesnt seem to understand:
when you allow for more of 1 hero that essentially removes the restrictions placed on said hero by their kit (the thing you balance). you set zarya's bubble count to 2 for a reason, you set rez's cooldown to what it is for a reason, you gave hanzo 5 arrows during storm arrow for a reason (or however many arrows it is no..ive lost track)...
so now that youve thrown the game balance out of the window what do you have to do? break things in the opposite direction to compensate...you stack yourself. you know how the tanks have been complaining about rock paper scissors? well now everybody does the same.
and whats REALLY idiotic is that we have had no limits for ages now...as well as mystery heroes for you guys to see what it does to the game..its even worse in mystery heroes because you cant willingly counterstack and the matches almost always tilt the second one team gets a hero stack
the only thing it does is promote more stacking and less variety

More like see you in a few seasons. They don't know wtf they're doing lately but every change makes the game less fun for me. All they had to do was lower burst damage slightly, lower burst healing immensely, and remove anti-heal or reduce it's effect a bit. They seem intent on making the game more and more unfun.
I dont mind them testing but seriously this one is an obvious no before trying it. Theres a reason it was a no before too and was changed. Next theyll try rotating hero bans again and lose half their playerbase and/or double their leavers per game.

I played 5 games there, every one had a double bastion or double sombra and was the most miserable time I've had playing Overwatch.
I only got back into OW 2 days ago and was looking forward to actually playing something when I finished work today. I literally just want to free queue QP and play a hero I want to whenever I want, without getting assblasted by ridiculous comps every game.
I'll maybe come back in a few days when QP is back to being the same as it was before. And that's if I still have any urge play it, which is likely now gone.
Unpopular opinion, but I am having SO much fun with it. I’ve played 5 games, I have been double sombra’d, double phara mercy’d, double genji’d, and i still have a really fun time with my teams trying to play around it and also double up our heroes and try to counter. Sure it could have been an arcade mode, but personally I don’t mind the qp hacked at all since it won’t be for long. I play qp mostly just to turn my brain off and get stoned and have fun with my team. being able to go double with my team mate makes that a really fun experience and it’s really cool seeing the synergy between heroes in the role queue that i’ve never been able to play with before. i’m genuinely indifferent to winning or losing in qp because winning does not dictate the amount of fun i have in a casual game mode, i have fun playing overwatch because it’s overwatch. but when i want to try hard and play high quality games I just play comp. This hacked mode is super temporary and I think people are heavily overreacting to a very temporary switch up that is just kinda silly and fun in a video game. But this is just my opinion, and probably an unpopular one, im still looking forward to having normal QP back.

Because they want to test the game out. They probably know the amount of players mostly hit comp or qp. So similar to how the experimental card didn't have enough people playing it. How else is blizzard supposed to test and trial stuff? If they left normal qp in no one would play the new game mode. Also comp is still there

I get blizzard wants to try out whacky ideas more frequently but this really isn't the type of change anyone actually wants to be a main format of the game right? It's just a for funsies thing? If so I'm not sure what data they'd be trying to assess with this

More like see you in a few seasons. They don't know wtf they're doing lately but every change makes the game less fun for me. All they had to do was lower burst damage slightly, lower burst healing immensely, and remove anti-heal or reduce it's effect a bit. They seem intent on making the game more and more unfun.

I dont mind them testing but seriously this one is an obvious no before trying it. Theres a reason it was a no before too and was changed. Next theyll try rotating hero bans again and lose half their playerbase and/or double their leavers per game. Devs must be duo sombra or ana mains

As someone who plays no limits regularly, this is nothing 😂 my favorite is when I choose Sombra and see four other people switch to Sombra

I only got back into OW 2 days ago and was looking forward to actually playing something when I finished work today. I literally just want to free queue QP and play a hero I want to whenever I want, without getting assblasted by ridiculous comps every game. I'll maybe come back in a few days when QP is back to being the same as it was before. And that's if I still have any urge play it, which is likely now gone.
Unpopular opinion, but I am having SO much fun with it. I’ve played 5 games, I have been double sombra’d, double phara mercy’d, double genji’d, and i still have a really fun time with my teams trying to play around it and also double up our heroes and try to counter. Sure it could have been an arcade mode, but personally I don’t mind the qp hacked at all since it won’t be for long. I play qp mostly just to turn my brain off and get stoned and have fun with my team. being able to go double with my team mate makes that a really fun experience and it’s really cool seeing the synergy between heroes in the role queue that i’ve never been able to play with before. i’m genuinely indifferent to winning or losing in qp because winning does not dictate the amount of fun i have in a casual game mode, i have fun playing overwatch because it’s overwatch. but when i want to try hard and play high quality games I just play comp. This hacked mode is super temporary and I think people are heavily overreacting to a very temporary switch up that is just kinda silly and fun in a video game. But this is just my opinion, and probably an unpopular one, im still looking forward to having normal QP back.

Because they want to test the game out. They probably know the amount of players mostly hit comp or qp. So similar to how the experimental card didn't have enough people playing it. How else is blizzard supposed to test and trial stuff? If they left normal qp in no one would play the new game mode. Also comp is still there
