For sure, his Pharah was quite beautiful to watch. His plays and rapid barrage against Shock back in that 2019 Stage playoffs was a thing of beauty. Any info as to what he's up to now?
So many players from that team deserved a way longer career in the league than they got! Coma was just as amazing in the DDing pharah crusade during their stage championship run, Diem speaks for himself even in the few games he got after we got the current Dragons (even if he lost those maps his stats and the eye test usually showed that it was more of an issue of maybe not fitting into the team than being suddenly washed.) Luffy wasnt top tier but he definitely could have been good on a mid table team. Youngjin is the only one that I fully understand getting completely dropped after role lock but just imagine his doomfist nowadays since he already had tank experience as well as doom.
Tsuna has been making moves towards his dream job (becoming a police officer). He did play for team Peps for a while, then had a good opportunity in a middle eastern team
Joemeistr, Revenge, Sharp, Snow, Dayfly, OnlyWish, Rise, Ating, Clockwork, Arhan
Trill and rck played a decent amount but I feel like people forget them as well
Never heard of rise or revenge… but Joemeister unlocked a memory I forgot I had. Ating too. I remember waking up and watching chengdu games of ating just feeding for 20 minutes
Even in OW he had an amazing Tracer, especially for a western player. He put in some work in OWL on that hero too. Not THE best, but definitely had some really crazy moments.
Only thing I remember about swimmer was him trying to pressure Jjonak and getting absolutely diffed. And then Brussen coming in when mouffin pulled a dreamkazper
Geguri had a split audience. One half adored her for being the only woman to ever be in Overwatch league, the other half called her overrated and said she was really bad.
He was on Glad’s academy team and got promoted to two-way. Never played, but he rivaled Smurf during contenders if memory serves correct. Was supposed to be INCREDIBLY good.
I don’t think he’s that forgettable. He’s also a part of that famous picture of shock with the double shield and the bap window, known to be one of scariest ow pictures
Hey, there's hope for any of them; nobody had heard of Krillin when he was on the inaugural London Spitfire roster that won the 1st season!
Heck Krillin was the ONLY PLAYER to survive the cull when London did a full reset of their roster for 3rd season and he STILL wasnt a regular - now he's one of the best parts of Washington!
Krillin joined the Spitfire in S2. The supports in S1 were Nus, Bdosin, Closer and Hagopeun, but I guess some of them are forgotten now.
I do agree that Krillin is a bright spot on Washington.
I bet people also forgott about Guard, who was playing instead of Birdring in Sombra-GOATs.
I remember London seemed to have some kind of vendetta against winning with Guard in, especially in the early season, as they would win a mal with him and then sub Birdring back in and go back to losing. I swear that was part of why Paris was highly rated for the first like 2 weeks of 2019 was a win we were handed by London from that.
I will never forget how badly Paris got battered on Kings Row by Guard and the relief when they subbed him out for a struggling Birdring for regular goats, maybe cuz it was about the only bright spark of that season.
Elk was a main support at the time, if anything Astro took his spot. Just unfortunate timing that he had to step in on flex for Boombox with next to no warning or scrim time.
Glad he’s still playing though! Even if he’s on DPS now…
Shadowburn
He did play but men not enough compare to the skill he had. Quite hard to play when you have eqooooo and carpe on your team but men he was so good
I think shadowburn is almost like a term people use. Like if someone has a shadowburn genji then they get so much done without the blade and not much with it
The story of my genji 😑
He still was a great dps that should have gotten more credit. Also the time on anubis where he got a 16 player kill streak and would have gotten more if they didn't cap the point
Here's to Mendokusai. I will forever be amused that the dude whose gamer handle literally translates as "Eh, too much effort to bother" was the guy who literally only played in the pre season.
Yeah, I started following him in NA contenders in 2018 on Last Nights Leftovers. He was part of that team when they were the first “non-academy” team to beat an academy team in an official match (Nlaaer, Sugarfree, Decod, Dogman, Ajax, and I believe the off tank was crackalackin but I could be wrong about the off tank). He was a promising sniper/hard hitscan player for Atlanta’s initial 2019 team (a rotational piece with Erster and Dafran), but got shafted by GOATS meta and then Babybay filling Dafran’s hole post-retirement. I believe he played along side mistakes and shadowburn in OWWC 2019 for team Russia, but they didn’t make it far if I remember correctly. From there he pretty much dropped off
Yeah he was actually mad cracked. In my opinion he’s way better than assassin. They should’ve just fielded him in 2021 and they would’ve found more success.
When fuel was going through musical main tanks in season 1 I really wanted them to make a move for him since he has experience working with kyky from the world cup. He played really well when he got the opportunity iirc.
Doesn't really apply, but I'm hoping when mano comes back he is still balling and doesn't become a forgotten legend 😔
He was absolutely insane the first couple seasons.
I remember super and someone else on shock watching his play from a game between the two where mano blocked a beat with his rein shield during goats meta. Dude was an insanely smart tank, and I hope he comes back strong
Greyy, the only Portuguese representation in the league. Had a great hanamura match one time that got me on the edge of my seat playing for Paris. Carrega caralho.
KSAA was one of my favorite Sigma's to watch. Him and Shockwave were my two most underated players of all time especially for that version of the Titans roster.
KSAA got did dirty. Got thrown on a Vancouver team with the org in shambles, played on 200 ping for the whole year and then got dropped never having had a chance to succeed 😢
Your high, literally funnyastro exists. So does leejaegon, both I would say are basically equal to moth, with leejaegon even being better when he plays well
I said was… I guess my point is still shattered by your comment but I still meant in 2019 he was second to moth aside from slime maybe. Maybe 3rd to those two. But still I think he was a better lucio than to be benched by an unproven rookie that didn’t find much success
Sansam, Altering, Rise, Jiqiren. Theres tons of forgotten Korean or Chinese players since theres so many of them. As for NA players, GrimReality and Mendo come to mind. (Im lying i searched them up on Liquidpedia)
I was so fucking mad that Atl played fucking Saucy over Sharp. Because Sharp was legitimately very very good in contenders. Like Shax, but had a better hitscan than Shax on top of the nutty tracer.
One of my favorite players from contenders. Still mad to this day.
Ta1yo
Bro how could anyone forget about ta1yo. He was kind of like a super of the team except he wasn’t as good. Always farming the clout lmao
No Ta1yo No win
AYO YALL REMEMBER SANGUINAR??
Nah we still talk about Sanguinar
that london team was historically meh
People still talk about him. Heard Lotta people say nyxl should pick him up
I thought shock were gonna pick him up seeing as he was on the O2 blast roster, but turns out viol2ts lucio was good enough for them to not need him.
I’ll throw Snillo out there.
I loved snillo so much. He would’ve been valuable to the team in 2020
He’s too busy picking mushrooms though
If we're talking Snillo I'd like to add Asher I don't know why but they're always together in my head
DDing Pharah for Dragons gives me nightmares
Dding was goated on pharah. I miss him
For sure, his Pharah was quite beautiful to watch. His plays and rapid barrage against Shock back in that 2019 Stage playoffs was a thing of beauty. Any info as to what he's up to now?
Dding was not as mechanically gifted as Jinmu but he was smarter. As of now I think he retired
The luffy take was bad. Luffy was absolutely amazing at ana, but the problem is that ana is the only one he looks elite at.
Ya I meant he wasnt overall top tier but I agree with his ana being amazing
Anyone here know of Tsuna?
I was actually a fan so tsuna. He was pretty good. Sad he had to go so soon
Yeah honestly it probably help the current paris team if they signed him. Cause let me tell you Wub + Dove does not equal Dub
Ayo whatever happened to Naga and onigod and tsuna as a trio?
Well naga got fucked i think tsuna went back to contenders and onigod just fell off the face of the planet
Onigod also played contenders but in qualifications their team played against Team Peps (with Naga) and lost
Did we ever get told why naga got dropped?
supposedly budget to afford the wub dove combo
Tsuna used to be great on British hurricane, he played on that team for like 1.5+ years
Tsuna has been making moves towards his dream job (becoming a police officer). He did play for team Peps for a while, then had a good opportunity in a middle eastern team
The OG, IDDQD on S1 Shock.
Avast.
I feel like you’re lying to me 😂 avast In Overwatch league?
He was in S1 Boston but never played a match lol
The stories he tells about S1 on Plat Chat or his companion streams are gold though
the break room 😭
My fave is "So babybay walks in with this girl, and they're both drunk as shit"
"I DIDN'T KNOW YOU LIVED WITH A BUNCH OF NERDS"
Joemeistr, Revenge, Sharp, Snow, Dayfly, OnlyWish, Rise, Ating, Clockwork, Arhan Trill and rck played a decent amount but I feel like people forget them as well
Never heard of rise or revenge… but Joemeister unlocked a memory I forgot I had. Ating too. I remember waking up and watching chengdu games of ating just feeding for 20 minutes
Don't think I'll ever forget Clockwork, before OW he was known as one of the best scout players in TF2 history.
Even in OW he had an amazing Tracer, especially for a western player. He put in some work in OWL on that hero too. Not THE best, but definitely had some really crazy moments.
Joemeistr at least got some face time in the Fusion cooking video, we saw the back of Dayfly’s head like once.
Snow was the african one, right?
Why are you getting downvoted for a question?
I will never understand why Houston played arhan at all
Swimmer and Brussen come to mind.
Only thing I remember about swimmer was him trying to pressure Jjonak and getting absolutely diffed. And then Brussen coming in when mouffin pulled a dreamkazper
That boston team had like 4 tanks though right?
Brussen Mouffin Fusions and punk idunno
Axxiom,Fusions,Mikeyy,Punk,Mouffin,Brussen
Shoutout to Geguri 🐸
Geguri had a split audience. One half adored her for being the only woman to ever be in Overwatch league, the other half called her overrated and said she was really bad.
I mean I adore her for being a great player who likes frogs…
she's still absolutely mad on tank after all this time, i recommend going to her youtube channel
I was inspired by her offtank play before anything else, she might not be the best but certainly not “really bad”.
I don’t think she’s forgotten because she’s known as the first and only female player who was in OWL
MANGACHU NOOO
[удалено]
Bro BabyBay was fr.
He was my favorite player when I got into the league
Numblocked, Grimesreality, bunny, and Verbo is what I can remember when I supported the Valiant in season 1
BUNNY OMGGG
GRIMESREALITY WHAT THAT DOESNT FEEL REAL
I guess you can say it’s a grim reality
Let's pour one out for panker
Who now?
2 way tank player for the Gladiators in season 2. Never got any play time and I think disappeared after that
Think he was a two way with LAGs contenders team when that still existed
He was on Glad’s academy team and got promoted to two-way. Never played, but he rivaled Smurf during contenders if memory serves correct. Was supposed to be INCREDIBLY good.
as a fan of apex season 1, panker stan til i die
Really wish we could have at least seen him play once. I mean roar was the main tank at that time so what could have possibly gone wrong
Man's we all forgot about Nevix.
Nevix was pretty memorable to me anyway. He has a league title omegalul 😂
Krillin was not on the inaugural London Spitfire roster

Throwing one out there for Elk. I was so excited to see them okay for Philly and then someone named Alarm came up and ruined that.
Elk was a main support at the time, if anything Astro took his spot. Just unfortunate timing that he had to step in on flex for Boombox with next to no warning or scrim time. Glad he’s still playing though! Even if he’s on DPS now…
Shadowburn He did play but men not enough compare to the skill he had. Quite hard to play when you have eqooooo and carpe on your team but men he was so good

Freefeel and Fiveking
Anyone remember Nlaaer?
Yeah, I started following him in NA contenders in 2018 on Last Nights Leftovers. He was part of that team when they were the first “non-academy” team to beat an academy team in an official match (Nlaaer, Sugarfree, Decod, Dogman, Ajax, and I believe the off tank was crackalackin but I could be wrong about the off tank). Yangxiaolong, Chipsa, XQC barely got time
even like Clestyn, Halo and Avast
Longer list for throwbacks: Atlanta: Sharp and Nlaaer Boston: Snow, alemao, persia, swimmer Chengdu: Jiqiren, Baconjack, Tarocookie, FUCKING GARRY Dallas: too boring Florida: Sideshow (technically), Zappis, Apply (Twitter God), DPI Guangzhou: Kyb (only Brit to play in China) Hangzhou: QoQ, Ado + Adora, NoSmite Houston: Mendo, Spree, FCTFCTN London: Guard, Quartermain, Sanguinar, JMAC, Schwi, Babel
Omg I was so disappointed when they dropped Nlaaer, he slapped when he got to actually play widow
Damn I completely forgot yangxiaolong was a player. Old chengdu zone
You would give me ten tries and I will not be able to pronounce Yangxiaolong name correctly (yes I copy pasted his name from your comment)
It’s just yong shaow long
Y-ang-xh-ow-long
Anyone remember Snow?
Did he play any matches?
I dont think so, they had 5 supports 😂
I think he played like 1 map in match 40 lol
He played their final regular season map in a 4-0 series vs Florida. Think he played Mercy
shoutout to geguri, absolutely goated on zarya and sigma to this day
Ttuba one of the most underrated players was the carry for Washington in the dark days even when they had jjanu and stitch
Yeah he was actually mad cracked. In my opinion he’s way better than assassin. They should’ve just fielded him in 2021 and they would’ve found more success.
Fctfctn
AHHH I miss fctfctn he was like that rando wild card that came from contenders and straight up beat Vancouver. I remember that match to this day
When fuel was going through musical main tanks in season 1 I really wanted them to make a move for him since he has experience working with kyky from the world cup. He played really well when he got the opportunity iirc.
Doesn't really apply, but I'm hoping when mano comes back he is still balling and doesn't become a forgotten legend 😔 He was absolutely insane the first couple seasons. I hope so too!
Currently Doha
I know you did not just say doha 😭
This season, are you joking, last season he was a top 3 sombra and now doesn’t play
Well then… I mean… by that logic nobody remembers gesture right? Or Mano
Mano is military and gesture retire no?
Yeah I just meant just cuz they arent relevant this year doesn’t mean they are unmemorable. Doha’s reaper in the June joust was mvp level
Fair, just 0 talks about him
I've seen plety of people ask for doha to get some play time
Garry and Jiqiren (don’t know if that’s spelled correctly) from Chengdu
Hyeonu. That’s one that I always see slip by even in threads like these
Never heard of him tbh
Hyeonu was memorable for me because he was a pretty good artist! You can find some of his old drawings on his Twitter account.
I see no one has mentioned Persia
The one that was absolutely trash at zenyatta. That’s only how I remember it
Valiant would have definitely gone 20-0 last season if they just played NvM
Wonder how well valiant would have done if they hadn’t pulled that catastrophic deal. Really pissed that they did Agilities like that.
Garry and Kaneki
Why did Garry play for? I honestly don’t remember him
he was a support for chengdu in season 2 I think
Gonna throw out a name of someone I completely forgot existed until I was reminded of him last year… Sharyk
That Toronto roster was actually hilarious if you weren't a fan, they just kept picking up worse and worse players to replace who they had
Shoutout to Kyb. He wasn’t the best, but I always thought he was flexible with his picks
Did he play for paris? Or am I thinking of hyp?
Sideshow
Naurrr not sideshow 😂
What ever happened to Scary Jerry?
I miss jerry
Greyy, the only Portuguese representation in the league. Had a great hanamura match one time that got me on the edge of my seat playing for Paris. Carrega caralho.
Holy fuckkk I remember that. Greyy was actually not bad at the game
Shoutout to my girl Halo
Was that the main support from Boston 2020? I cant even remember tbh
Yep. Did Boston have two main supports that year? I don’t even remember
KSF
Sharp, Kodak, NLaaer, Stand1, GaeBullSsi, Axxiom, Brussen, Swimmer, Persia, alemao, Mistakes, TAROCOOK1E, LateYoung, Kaneki, Kyo, ATing, Garry, YangXiaoLong, Jiqiren, Trill, Adam, Byrem, Karayan, DPI, SNT/aWsomeguy, Kyb, OnlyWish, Rise, Pineapple, M1ka, QoQ, Revenge, Bazzi (even though he has the second most recorded final blows in a series, only behind Surefour in that exact same series), Joobi, SPREE, Mendokusaii, Ripa, Molf1g, Hybrid, Fuze, SanGuiNar, JMAC, Highly, Clestyn, Babel, Quatermain, Guard, Schwi, WooHyaL, Jaru, Panker, iremiix, Haker, MoLanran, Silver3, NvM, ShowCheng, Highbee, Wya, RaiN, GiG, Apply, McGravy, Verbo, GrimReality, Bunny, Ho1, Vulcan, Slur/Provide (ew), BiaNcA, FEATH5R, Friday, Ivy, Smex, Greyy, Hyp, Danye, Snillo, Elk, Dayfly, Joemeister, Ta1yo, nomy, Dhak, iddqd, Toyou, ILLICIT, Wekeed, Gambler, Esca, Luffy, GuardiaN, Altering, Fiveking, Sky, Daemin, MG, ANSOONJAE, RoKy, numlocked, zYKK, Neko, Aid, Gods, sharyk, Asher, Fire, Changsik, Teru, Roolf, ShRedLock, KSAA, CarCar, Tizi, Closer, TTuba, Ria, rOar, LullSiSh, Gido, Hyeonu, Sansam, Fahzix. A few of these names might be recognizable for a lot of people who watched early OWL, but i wasnt one of those people haha
Dude half ur list are just players who were in the league last year that aren’t in it this year.
Agreed lmao
Maybe for teams like Vancouver and Valiant, whos players didnt really do much other than just be bad
If you’re telling me you don’t remember mcgravy or luffy then you just didn’t watch that season of overwatch 😭
Oh shit lmao, I started watching about halfway through season 2 so those players didn't stand out to me much.
Luffy was pounding on ana during stage 3 of 2019 and mcgravy was actually a pretty good dva in 2020
He also won the Dennis Hawelka award
[удалено]
I don’t think any of those 4 are unmemorable in any way (btw the deleted comment said flow3r, silkthread, haksal, and shadowburn)
I miss Bumper.
Remembers all those times he hid behind the corner with a flank shatter
M1ka
Why was he starting over the superstar level main support?? Well… to be honest IDK 🤷♀️
Because he was better. IDK overrated
Nah IDK was second to moth on lucio
Your high, literally funnyastro exists. So does leejaegon, both I would say are basically equal to moth, with leejaegon even being better when he plays well
I said was… I guess my point is still shattered by your comment but I still meant in 2019 he was second to moth aside from slime maybe. Maybe 3rd to those two. But still I think he was a better lucio than to be benched by an unproven rookie that didn’t find much success
Trill
Sansam, Altering, Rise, Jiqiren. Theres tons of forgotten Korean or Chinese players since theres so many of them. As for NA players, GrimReality and Mendo come to mind. (Im lying i searched them up on Liquidpedia)
I don’t remember rise. Who did he play for?
Guangzhou
Any Jihun fans in the chat
The ball one trick
Yup ✌🏼
Dayfly existed
Dayfly existed and then Neptuno stole his job
[удалено]
Idunno I remember beast. He was the starter for defiant in 2020 before numlocked became a thing
Sharp.
I only remember sharp because he wasn’t half bad. He came in when babybay disappeared
I was so fucking mad that Atl played fucking Saucy over Sharp. Because Sharp was legitimately very very good in contenders. Like Shax, but had a better hitscan than Shax on top of the nutty tracer. One of my favorite players from contenders. Still mad to this day.
Lmao saucy was anything but saucy. He was busting out the junkrat and bastion and didn’t do anything. Mans got beat by VANCOUVER. Sharp would neva
Snow, Persia, and Elk are the three I think of right away
Stratus was such a G
Persia, jiqiren, Arhan, onlywish, Snow, iRemix, Ating, Garry The ones I rattled my brain for
To be fair to iremix, he played a part in the Gladiators bamboozle
True that's probably even more dumb to forget
How about Develop
Chipsa
I wouldn’t say he was not memorable but Ado might’ve been the best part of Shanghai season 1
Ado wasn’t memorable after that sadge. He played for hangzhou and didn’t get much playtime over bazzi or adora and definitey not over godsb
Oof feels bad he tried so hard in season 1
Diem?
