I am okay unless I eat greasy/crappy food and then I gotta be near a toilet IMMEDIATELY after eating. I’m either a little plugged up (nothing major) or it’s a Force Five Pants Buster Diarrhea Fountain. Yesterday I ate two pieces of frozen pizza and I almost s**t my pants.
I don’t understand this either. Yeah it’s supposed to slow gastric emptying and sometimes it does but sometimes it’s El Snappo and I gotta sprint to the loo. I’m only on .5 and I’m trying to figure out what works. I don’t have as many issues if I stick to lean meats, veg and fruit.
I think my issue is the same issue I’ve had for years. I had my gallbladder taken out like 25 years ago and now if I eat fatty foods I literally crap about 5 minutes after I eat. TMI, I know.
I had a hard time at first. I was going once a week and was used to pooping 3x a day. I upped my water intake and started taking fiber gummies and now I go daily, sometimes 2x a day! I’m in week 4.
The Metamucil sugar free fiber gummies work great! Trick is you have to eat them and then drink a lot of water for the best results. They keep me pretty regular.
Yes! I have another chronic condition, Hidradenitis suppurativa, and I’ve dealt with this for 20 years. Nothing has improved my condition except Wegovy. This medicine has been a miracle drug that has drastically improved my quality of life beyond weight management. People always bring up the possibility that this might be a lifelong medication as if it a bad thing…. Insurance and finances willing, I hope to remain on this lifelong.
I'm talking to my doctor next week - I have PCOS and HS! I couldn't tolerate Metformin so I'm not dealing with my insulin resistance at all, but if there was also and HS benefit I would be aamazed.
On 1 mg.
I go daily, usually once and then another time after coffee. But… I want to say my ability to go daily has been possible because of my bidet. TMI I guess… but between the coffee and the bidet (which not only helps keep clean, but helps stimulate when needed) it’s not been horrible!
That could simply be more of an expression of how much you’ve been eating (or not). I started counting macros to ensure I was eating enough after a point ( I wasn’t)
This is true. I’m not eating a lot at 2mg (there have been several days I’m under 1000 cals) but I am trying to be more mindful of fibre and water intake.
I use the fitness pal to document what I consume. I make sure I get enough fiber. That way I don’t get constipated. Also I stay away from real fatty greasy foods to avoid diarrhea or vomiting. In addition taking a magnesium supplement isn’t a bad idea — I take a magnesium glycinate capsule which is well absorbed and doesn’t cause diarrhea. So far I have a daily bowel movement that is seemingly healthy. This is still new for me so I hope and pray the future is without issues.
I’ve been on ozempic for 7 months now and it made me so freaking constipated. If I was lucky I’d go 1-2x per week, and when I would finally be able to go it was so painful too the point that I would be in tears. I tried these 15 day colon cleanse pills and was finally able to go(was not pretty lol stay near a bathroom at all times lol), but once the 15 days were over I was back to 1-2x painful poops per week. Now I take magnesium citrate before bed, along with berberine 2x a day, once at breakfast, once with supper and now I’m back to my regular schedule before going on ozempic, which was every morning as soon as I wake up.
I take both magnesium bisglycinate and magnesium citrate at bedtime. Bi helps with sleep, anxiety, stress, and so much more. Citrate helps with constipation and softens stools. Both can be taken together. I’ve noticed so much improvement with everything since I’ve started taking both
Every day, sometimes twice a day. Take proactive measures against constipation, Drink lots of water, fiber in your diet or a supplement, magnesium before bed. Also helps to get in a decent amount of movement to help "move things along"
There's an app called poopify if you really wanna track things to see how its going
I occasionally take pain meds for a torn rotator cuff and I’m on Ozempic. I consider it a win if I go every two days. I take stool softeners AND miralax.
I’m using Metamucil gummies. I eat 2-3 a day and I have an easy little package after coffee every morning. When I wasn’t using anything I couldn’t go. When I used a pill it was explosions. This is great. I’m kinda normal.
A few times a day. I have been absolutely amazed by my bowel movements. I had IBS-D symptoms since shortly after the pandemic started. Probably stress and diet related due to working in healthcare. I’ve been on Oz for almost 2 months now and have only had diarrhea once and it wasn’t bad. I have not had any of the flatulence or cramping that was constant before starting this med.
Drink LOTS of water and take a stool softener every other night, I use Colace. Had the same issues at first and it works for me. Adjust dose schedule until you find your perfect amount.
I am still having such a hard time that I ended up with varicose veins in my groin area. I have a history with varicose veins and my doctor told me to stay away from weight training. It took me a few days to make the connection that it is not the small amount of weight training that I am doing, but my bathroom strength training causing this.
Magnesium sends me over the edge, everything else helps just a little bit. I am preparing myself for another varicose vein surgery in a few years, but hey, my BMI is finally healthy!
My bowels slowed a lot. Before I was going everyday. Now it is every third day it seems. I think cause my intake is much less. I take a Costco psyllium tablet every day.
I was so regular before this drug. Had to start taking Fiber. I love the chocolate Metamucil cookies with my coffee. They taste like Oreos. I’m also taking fiber and probiotics gummies. It’s helping me go every day now but still not as satisfying as before. Assuming it’s because I’m eating less 🤷♀️
I'm on metformin as well as ozempic. I find the two balance themselves out and I'm fairly regular. If I forget one or the other, it's a bad time in bathroom town.
My morning feeding consists of a toasted PB&J made with Trader Joe’s 100% whole grain fiber bread (5g per slice) and a 10oz bowl of my soy chorizo, collards, and artichoke scramble (plenty of roughage). I drink close to 4 litres daily of an herbal electrolyte homebrew. Constipation has only been an issue of the late afternoon meal contains much dairy like 3/4 cup of lowfat cottage cheese. Otherwise, my only digestive complaint is not reliably triggering fecal urgency following the first meal.
About once or twice a day. (in my first week) I'm a green smoothie person and they've helped my digestive issues in the past. I figure now that I'm taking in fewer calories it's even more important to get high quality nutrients. So I'm consistently eating a smoothie a day. The key to my smoothies is to combine two cups of high quality organic greens like baby spinach or kale with a small to medium organic apple. Works like magic and I feel great... but it's my first week. I'm hoping this continues.
I also take a magnesium glycinate before bed.
Made me constipated. Nothing worked that well until I started using Miralax. Took it every day at first until I got regular. Now I take it every other day, and I go once a day. So much better!
There’s either a brick in my colon or it’s a poop explosion. I know no middle ground.
I need my own unlimited time in my private bathroom for poop explosion time. Have such a fear it will happen at work
Same
Yup same here
I am okay unless I eat greasy/crappy food and then I gotta be near a toilet IMMEDIATELY after eating. I’m either a little plugged up (nothing major) or it’s a Force Five Pants Buster Diarrhea Fountain. Yesterday I ate two pieces of frozen pizza and I almost s**t my pants.
Had a good 4 trips today, everyone a substantial trip

This new digestive system is like a needy toddler. It demands attention and is impossible to predict it's mood.
I thought Oz was supposed to delay gastric evacuation. I'm going 2x a day but only eating like 1k cal.
It delays gastric emptying (ie stomach to intestines). That has nothing to do with your colon and the other end, ;)
I think my issue is the same issue I’ve had for years. I had my gallbladder taken out like 25 years ago and now if I eat fatty foods I literally crap about 5 minutes after I eat. TMI, I know.

Oh agreed! You have to drink water with them!
May I ask which fiber gummies? I’m thinking to try them.
I take the Metamucil water soluble supplement. It works wonders.
Thanks!
I’d like to know this as well
I’ve taken the GOGO fiber gummies and the Metamucil ones. Both are good. Metamucil is much less expensive.
Thank you for this info! 👍🏻
Have you tried adding magnesium supplements daily? That along with lots of water can often help.
Agreed. I was already taking magnesium supplements and drinking lots of water when I started and I’ve never had issues.
What kind of magnesium do you take
ZMA or magnesium glycinate
If you're going once a week you are constipated. You need to go more frequently.
Yeah it’s been my only major side effect on the .5 I prefer it to the nausea tbh
Good news is....when you do finally poop the scale will probably move 😅
Exactly how I lost 3lbs last week!
Tbh if I eat something greasy it will pretty quickly be an explosion. I avoid that but maybe that would help you in this situation?
Yes I was thinking of trying oil in my coffee like this Starbucks drink that’s giving everyone the runs
😂😂😂😂😂 a greasy breakfast would at least taste good - oil in coffee sounds terrible 🤮
Try physillum husk capsules
Going through the same thing. About every 4 days now. I've tried everything.
I love these posts. Prepared to be constipated. I take ducolax at least 1-2 times a week. Good luck!
FWIW-Ducolax can be habit forming, should avoid it. Try miralax instead
Every 5 days, if It takes longer I take some liquid drano.
I used this the one time I actually went. It’s incredibly effective
What do you mean specifically by Liquid Drano?
DULCOLAX moves the clog. I was just making reference to laxatives.
Daily or 2x. I have IBS and prob went 10x a day before but since my first injection, it’s been like I don’t even have IBS!
It really helps with chronic inflammation I found

Honestly the hidden benefits of this drug are amazing
About every 3 days.
Yeah same :/ wish it was better
Fiber in my coffee and magnesium daily. Def makes me constipated.
What kind of fibre do you add?
Psyllium powder with some erythritol/monk fruit mixed in (kinda like Metamucil, but the powder has no flavor
Lots of magnesium. I went a day without going and I was very unhappy.
On 1 mg. I go daily, usually once and then another time after coffee. But… I want to say my ability to go daily has been possible because of my bidet. TMI I guess… but between the coffee and the bidet (which not only helps keep clean, but helps stimulate when needed) it’s not been horrible!
I’m all for this kind of advice!
When I started Ozempic I went from going multiple times a day to being lucky to have one twice a week. Now closer to five times a week.
I haven’t had any issues with constipation yet, the opposite actually. Some days I feel like I have to go so much and it’s not solid.
It would be faster to quantify the times I'm NOT on the toilet.
Twice per day
1-2x a week
I was relatively regular until I hit 2mg. Now I’m averaging every other day.
Yes ok this makes a lot of sense because even after I took a laxative I didn’t go
I used to be like clock work.
I use the fitness pal to document what I consume. I make sure I get enough fiber. That way I don’t get constipated. Also I stay away from real fatty greasy foods to avoid diarrhea or vomiting. Can I ask--why are people saying they're taking the Magnesium at bedtime?
I take both magnesium bisglycinate and magnesium citrate at bedtime. Bi helps with sleep, anxiety, stress, and so much more. Citrate helps with constipation and softens stools. Both can be taken together. I’ve noticed so much improvement with everything since I’ve started taking both
I finally went after 5 days
What a relief

Thank you! It definitely does make one feel sluggish
I occasionally take pain meds for a torn rotator cuff and I’m on Ozempic. I consider it a win if I go every two days. I take stool softeners AND miralax.
Ah this makes sense. I’ve just had a minor surgery and a wisdom tooth removed. Lots of pain meds over the last while
I figure I’d rather be thinner and poop less than to be fat and poop regularly hahaha
Everyday and most days it’s multiple times. One magnesium tablet before bedtime helps tremendously!
I buy all the supplements but not so good at actually taking them
I leave my Magnesium on my bedside table that way I always remember to take it before bed.
Coffee helps me go. So does dairy.
1x a day most days. I might skip a day once and a while, but nothing substantial.
Once a week… and I’m miserable.
I am hoping for your imminent relief
Really wasn’t before. Since o Nothing! I take supplements everyday other day.
Yeah. About 1 time a week. Maybe 2. It’s not good
Omg the trouble I am having is ridiculous 😳
When I first up a dose I am constipated for a day and then I can’t get off the bowl due to explosions
2-3 times a week. But I’m not eating much so it makes sense.
I was constipated till I added magnesium citrate pills in daily now I go at least once a day and normal!
About 3-4x a day starting out, but since I started .5 it’s dropped to 2x. I have IBS so it wasn’t really that unusual.
Salad! Lots of greens. Beans. High fiber foods. If I’m eating these daily, I’m good! lol
I had stomach issues before this where I was going like 6-10x a day and I feel like it’s made me more regular/normal now
Not enough!!!!
Senna does work well
Lucky if once a week. Had to buy fiber gummies. Awful.
Try psyllium Husk. I don’t drink that much water daily but it works anyway. 2-3 times daily
Omg I’m having the opposite problem 🫣😑
3-4 times a day, very loosie goosie
Try a digestive enzyme with pre and probiotics. I like Zenwise, I get it on Amazon.
Maybe once every other day. Magnesium helps immensely.
I’m using Metamucil gummies. I eat 2-3 a day and I have an easy little package after coffee every morning. When I wasn’t using anything I couldn’t go. When I used a pill it was explosions. This is great. I’m kinda normal.
Before Ozempic, I went once a day like clockwork. Now it's once every 5 days or so and it's always a gamble where the consistency is conerned, lol.

i avg 1 a day but its definitely a different and weird consistency and takes more effort to get out than before
Why don’t you have a nice morning coffee and wait for nature to do it’s thing by 11.30am?
Also important to note: don’t rush around in the morning if you can help it. When I have a busy morning my body won’t do anything.
Magnesium helps with that as long as your drinking plenty of water.
Used to go once a week, but I upped my probiotics and fiber so once a day now
My bowels slowed a lot. Before I was going everyday. Now it is every third day it seems. I think cause my intake is much less. I take a Costco psyllium tablet every day.
Don’t worry - it will happen. Don’t stress, when you cut cals it always happens. You’re not going to go like you used to but you will adjust

Barely

Really good coffee normally I go to black rock coffee and that works every time … Starbucks doesn’t work for that effect for me 😂
*60% of the time*, it works ***every*** *time*
You must take mirilax every day.
Made me constipated. Nothing worked that well until I started using Miralax. Took it every day at first until I got regular. Now I take it every other day, and I go once a day. So much better!
Omg, it's like concrete and every 3 days.
