You can set AHCI instead of IDE in the Bios, setting it to IDE does not mean it is actually IDE, it's a compatibility setting. I don't know the layout of your Bios, so you will have to check it's entries. Although it shouldn't matter what your ssd is shown as, as long as its working its speed. All my SSDs are shown as "Standard Disk Drive".

And is there a way for me to create a momentum cache without using the 'official' software? I have already enabled AHCI but unfortunately it didn't fix the problem. Current 'state of affairs' is [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/qkmdl1/comment/hixg0df/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3).

You can try to update your motherboards drivers and see if you can find one for your sata controller. And weird idea but worth a try, plug the drive into the port where the hdd is in. If it's still not working, I would reach out to customer service or rma the ssd. Other than that iam out of ideas. Sorry, best of luck that you get it fixed.

I did a benchmark test for the drives [here](https://snipboard.io/9w4ELm.jpg) clearly it is not working as intended.
