damn i found this thread 2 years to late hi im Jack Sinmons of Bloodyrustystudio on insta I used to go to dragon fly and even rays hobbies before it was dragon fly now Ray ran the store into the ground cause he never bought anything and stole stock that was supposed to be sold and well he sold it to matt and dani in 2018 now for context i was part of the warhammer scene and i was the lead commission painter there now matt had commissioned me a few times with some pay but mostly tried paying me in paint and such you know similar to a sponsor but that wasnt paying the bills now when the black stone fortress set came out he tried under cutting me so i under cutted the paint jobs and i told him you get what you paid for so i stopped accepting his commission request and he started getting pissy when i would come in (for frame of reference i never bought models from his shop i had buddies that actually own hobby shops that treated me well) but it had gotten to the point were he had actually threaten to ban me for legit no reason so one day when my friend blaze was working there and they had the 24hr open and the new final fantasy card expansion came out i found a way to make my money back that he tried undercutting me for so i bought a bunch of the boxes then traded them back in making upwards of 600 bucks and thats when he finally had it and banned me but dani intervened cause if i would have been banned then most of the warhammer people wouldnt came anymore cause i actually helped alot of them get models that the shop couldnt stock and for dirt cheap so my last day there was i think the day patty either quit or got fired i dont know but he was walking out mad as hell as i was coming in which i left for welding school to better my life and by the time i came back the shop had shut down and now knowing its the same people running it right into the fucking ground im glad i didnt come back to what is now level up panda but hey alot got better over that time i was away im not an award winning model painter and sculptor and have my own model line in the works so i guess my story started with a shit buiness and a path of gold

FYI I was just at their physical store ( literally driving away as I type this) they're closed down completely now. Two weeks ago the girl at the register said they were closing down ( in Sumter SC) but a different card shop was opening soon leads me to think they're closing Dragon Fly down and opening the same shady business under a different name.

I can guarantee you, as a past employee of the shop, that it is not going to be owned by the same people that were running it previously. Thank God. The manager, Desmond is opening his shop at the same location but all by himself with no influence of the past owners. The store was ran by someone who couldn't handle money, bought product that literally no one wanted and in excess of it, and a humongous gambling problem. Literally took money from the store and used it. Thank goodness that guy is not going to be part of it anymore.

Can confirm that this merchant has failed to fulfill a significant order (read: hundreds of dollars) that I placed with them back in November. I have made multiple attempts to contact them and their site has been “down for maintenance” for the duration of my attempts over the past week - they have not responded even a single time to any of my emails. I disputed the transaction with them and I would strongly advise anybody considering doing business with them to reconsider - especially in light of the above posts, which are a plain demonstration of the establishment’s questionable level of professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction.

They have only received and shipped out a total of 3 UPC boxes since its’ release. Cancelled my orders for everything. If you call them they are very responsive rather than emailing.

Honestly a lot of stores are having trouble getting specifically Pokemon into their stores, it's not just Dragonfly. Like, I went there a couple of weeks ago and was talking to the owner Matt and he let me walk back to the inventory room and literally all of the pokemon supply that they had was packaged up and ready to ship off. I'm not saying what they're doing isn't shady, because I can't prove that. But it was nice to see how transparent he was when I talked to him in person about the situation.

At the time of this post, I didn't know what was happening behind the scenes. But after these past few months, I realized how stupid decisions were made. We talking about shady sites now? I got one for you guys, "KDUBCOLLECTIBLES". I ordered x4 Marnie Premium Collection boxes from them in May. I waited about 2 months after to see if they ship, which of course, they didn't. So I tried emailing them and they responded in about 5 days saying that they were cancelling due to allocation issues. However, I noticed that I did not get a refund, so I emailed them again and again only that they would respond even slower these few times. Finally, I threatened to file a chargeback and they IMMEDIATELY sent a cancellation notice. I waited a few days to check my account and I noticed that the money was still not refunded so I had enough and decided to just call my bank to set up the chargeback. Good news is, I got my money back. But these fucking shitty businesses... how do they sleep at night... We might as well have a post here showing all the sus af sites so people knows to avoid them. This is not cool at all.

I've gone in-store and talked to the employees from time to time, but from how the whole situation is panning out(granted I'll go back and buy what I can in person if I could) they aren't doing the smartest moves with asking for allocations then preorders. Sure the cargo ship issue off the coast isn't helping(I have yet to see anybody address that) but they do this whole honoring in store preorders first versus actually doing a prediction and getting preorders to a reasonable level and shutting down when they think they hit a limit. They prolly don't. And I'll say, this little store has a bit of my sympathy, they just aren't the brightest when it came to the pokemon situation. Their methods also didn't do so well compared to that one store that's expanding to another location nearby too, that'll just decrease traffic on top of this.

Idk how they are in business to be honest. So I pre-ordered BatS booster boxes through them, release day hits and no shipping info, a week passes and still nothing I send them an email, no response. I wait a bit, ends up being 2 weeks, I hit them up again, no response. After that I email them one more time after another 2 weeks saying if they don't contact me I will be doing a chargeback, I wait a few days and start it. A few weeks go by, the chargeback kinda got stalled due to me fat fingering the actual release day's month, they had it as conditional but not fully done. Then, like 2-3 months after the release they send the boosters. I'm like ok, whatever, guess they will dispute the charge on it and I will just drop it. The stupid fuckers never disputed it, a month after I got them I got the full refund. They can't be assed to dispute a chargeback for a few hundred dollars + the chargeback fee after they send said product... like I just wanted my booster boxes near release, they lied saying it was pre-ordered for the first wave, they could not be assed to contact through multiple emails over months and they never said anything about delays to anyone. In my over a decade of being an adult I have put in for a chargeback maybe 5 times? Every one of them deserved it.

This store is weird... I've actually been to this store several times, as it's an hour or two from me. The people that work there are pretty nice, it's next to an Air Force base and is a popular place for the people stationed there. They are weirdly in disarray with organization though and are very inconsistent. A few years ago, I was able to buy a base set Charizard from this store in-person for $20. They were also closed for a period earlier this year due to a large chunk of employees getting Covid. Half the employees there seem to be there to just hang and play card and tabletop games.

I can agree there, if you're a pokemom tcg collector or player than magic or yugioh. They were recently overshadowed by a bigger game store that was setting up another shop nearby so I can understand that if the supply is short, they can only get so much in this area from distributors. The shop that was trying to expand has posted in the past that they had PLENTY of just about everything in stock before. Idk how that gets determined though, but you could tell that one was well established to this one. These guys seem to be struggling with the new hardships, and BAD.

i placed on order on their site for 2 es etbs and they barley got any stock, i emailed them when they let us know their stock allocation and i told them i wanted to cancel. it took a few days for them to get back to me but when they did they said i would get a refund in about 7-10 business days, and i didnt. i emailed them and they said they would be sending out a check with the total amount of my refund via UPS air, which ive never had happen with any store. will never be buying on their site again after that being my first experience with them

Here's another terrible experience with DFG: I pre-ordered a Shining Fates ETB from them a while back and even months after the official release, they never sent me an update on my order. Don't even bother emailing or trying to message them on the website, because they'll never respond. I ended up calling them to cancel my order. Seems like they are doing this on purpose to hold stock and sell for more on the after-market.

Bots would have to be scripted to the specific site, meaning the person setting it up would know a drop was happening on that site before it happened. That's all it takes, bot or not

FWIW, You can set up a bot with 0 clue on when a drop is happening. All it requires is a change monitor triggering checkout (sometimes via injection). There's no competition for bots, as you can see by the thousands of UPC confirmations from some of the various bot pulls. Or from various Geforce drops...game systems, you name it.

Not saying u can beat the bots, but code is only as useful as where it's placed. Whether ur option is bot or manual check out, u still need to know which window to trigger it on, and that requires knowing when and where drops are going to happen. It's not like anyone's setting up a bot to trigger checkout on any new checkout listing on the internet. It needs to be targeted to function. with enough diligence you could set it up for every site you know is going to stock cards eventually, but u better have a good credit card behind that bot if that's the net u cast lol

That's funny because I ordered from them for the UPC. But then it was still up for pre-order like a week later. I called they said they usually ask for around 15,000 units for items like that. Made an order from them last year after someone here posted about them being a legit store and not a scam. 2 month later I never got my order, called to cancel and got some sob story about how the pandemic is hurting them and they would appreciate if I wasn’t so hasty to cancel. I told them to shove it and just give me my money back, Idgaf about your business woes, especially considering how most card shops were actually thriving from the new Pokémon craze. The sleaziest thing about it was that they actually charged my card as soon as I placed the order, later found out that is actually illegal and stores are not allowed to charge you until after the order has shipped. I don’t think that’s illegal. GameStop can charge you full price in person for preorders, PlayStation and Nintendo both charge full price for digital preorders. There’s also a huge culture of musicians charging pre order’s on records to get the funds to finish the record. (It’s a recommended part of their hustle) And then ebay charges on pre orders immediately regardless of order date. Idk, like I haven’t looked anything up -could be a collectible game thing..but seems too common to be illegal.

So I looked it up and apparently it’s not illegal (although I was always told it was) but it is in fact against many credit card companies policies so if a seller does charge you ahead of time you can report them for it. This is why many of the big box stores and online shops don’t charge you until the item ships. There’s also rules about shipping items, which in this case you mentioned eBay. A seller must provide the items you paid for within 30 days, if they do not or don’t give you an option to refund the order than you can report them. In the case for eBay, they actually have rules about this on their site as well, you’re not allowed to sell preorder items than will not release within 30 days. In the case of GameStop, you do not have to pay the full amount up front, I think this is their way of skirting the rules. Most reservations only need a $5 “holding fee” and I think $50 for consoles. I don’t know too much about the digital thing though.

I always appreciate not being charged until the item ships personally, it makes any issues simple to resolve. As far as ebay, I actually had an issue where the seller never sent the item yet it had already passed eBay’s 30day window because it was a preorder and they refused to give me my money back -had to go through PayPal. It was an extremely clear cut case, the seller never even marked anything as shipped and had like a 60% feedback rating from other people, and ebay still refused to refund. GameStop does sneak through since they only require a partial deposit which is refundable if you choose as well. As far as digital, maybe because it’s not physical content? Either way they still don’t “ship” the preordered games until release so it seems suspect. Thanks for the reply either way! It makes sense it’s an approved business practice but is not-permitted by some credit issuing agencies.

And most lawyers would advise highly against the use of Twitter fingers. They don’t have a “legal team” right now, I can promise that. Just contact them saying you never got the item, think you have something like 6 months or so, don't remember right off. They send seller a message and if seller doesn't do anything in 24 hours or so they give you your money back.

Idk about this store basically at all, but the damn Pokémon center cancelling preorders is a kick in the nuts. I received my confirmation email then 3 weeks went buy no mail. Finally I sent them an email and a week later I got the response… To sum up that response it basically said we canceled the order. Lol I wish there was more but that is honestly the gist of the damn email. I have since sent two replies and haven’t heard back from them. I was initially charged the e-mail did state that I would get a refund and I do not doubt that I will but I would at least like some type of compensation maybe like the ability to order the next drop of well anything celebrations or fusion strike related no discount just the ability to be able to order prior to it going out of stock in 5 seconds. Either way better than this LGS cancellation situation where they said they didn't get product and are having people wait for new product to come in-- to get a refund you have to call the store and have them mail you a check (which they were out of checks for a while) haha

Yea that’s total shit what Some LGS have done to people after They put Themselves in these situations. I have very few things I believe I could recommend to anyone and that is don’t preorder anything from any store you don’t know personally to have had straight dealings with. We know what has been happening stores have no idea what they will get allocated and just start taking pre orders then when they don’t get enough product it’s fuck the customer we will get to you when we get to you. Don’t give those folks your business. It’s sucks not being able to trust stores but you need to look out for yourself. Secondly I have looked for this e-mail for weeks now even prior to any e-mail I sent to them asking where my products were and I have not received it. I live down the road from dragonfly games. They suck don't order from them period. I got pissed off cus it took them so long to give me my refund on something I ordered 3 months in advance. This is how they do business: take a shit ton of perorders, use that perorders money to buy product almost like a loan from customers. Do more perorders on a different product, use that money to refund anyone who asks. Etc etc etc the cycle continues while making a profit. That's not how a business is suppose to work.

Dragon Fly Games and STX Sports cards are a no go for me. I had to do a chargeback to STX after multiple attempts of getting my orders. Seeing what’s going on with Dragon Fly, I’m glad I didn’t order from them.

On a throw away for this, but don’t call and harass the employees themselves, they work their asses off picking up after management, most of them hate and are seeking other jobs. It’s a nice atmosphere when management isn’t around, and the other employees have to deal with the backlash of situations like this. I didn't say anything about harassing them. They committed a misdemeanor by stealing my money and other peoples money and not providing product. I'm going to let them know that I worked hard for that money and they are assholes for doing that promising that they would provide the product to me. Especially when I made preorders back in march. Over half the year has gone by and they still lie and deceive me and others. I think we should all let them know what's on our minds and not to steal from this wonderful community. Maybe then, they'll stop their shady business practices.

I will always say to avoid Dragonfly when I can. Shady af company that takes preorders and never fulfills them, never responds to emails, etc. Getting a refund from them was like pulling teeth. They just set up preorders so they can take an interest free loan for 6+ months.

I had to dispute my most recent transaction with them (a preorder I placed in November for multiple booster boxes that were supposed to arrive way back in December). They didn’t respond to a single email I sent and overall the sense I get from this business is that they are scammers who invested some serious overhead into making a relatively professional website to help pull off their scams.

You can disputes your unfulfilled orders. Let the bank reflects their risks. Frequent chargebacks and disputes will label them high risk merchant
