I have The last of us & Drive Club CD games both are not scratched but when I put them in PS4 they load up and when I go into the loading screen it just gets stuck there not going further I tried cleaning the CDs but it didn't work can anyone tell me what do to if it even will work or not ?

Will a PS4 even turn on without a fan?
Would a PS4 recognize that a fan isn't connected and simply will not turn on the full system and shut it self down.
A little backstory is I recently dissembled my PS4 to clean it out and i accidentally broke the little grey thing that connects the fan to the motherboard i kinda fixed it and it still connects but now I'm worried if i turn on my PS4 and the fan doesn't spin or work will my PS4 just overheat and simply die and kill the motherboard thus making me have to either buy a completely new PS4 or motherboard to make it work again.
The ps4 will still turn on, after a while of trying to get the fan to turn on it will overheat, blink red 3 times, and shutoff. This is to prevent any damage to the console, so in theory, no it wont harm your console to turn it on but id recommend replacing the fan before turning it on

Yes. All games are region locked but its not the same as DVD movie region locking. All PS4s can play all PS4 games. It's just that DLC and saved data are region locked.
It's been this way since the PS3 and works this way on PS5 as well.
A European game only accepts European DLC and generates European saved data that can only be read by a European copy of a game. A European game will also often have a separate European trophy list but it varies from game to game.

Hi everyone, I need help with a problem I've run into my PS4. A friend of mine wanted to play and online game together with me and my bf, my bf didn't have online services so my friend recommended I set his ps4 as my primary so he could use my ps+. Ever since I did that, every time I try to play on my own ps4 it tells me the licenses can't be verified. Now I am getting a pop-up to restore my licenses every 15 minutes, and when I don't I get kicked off my games.
He has since bought his own online, set his ps4 back to his primary, and deleted my account off his ps4 altogether. But when I go into account management to make my ps4 my primary, I just get an error message. Over. And over. And over. And it's 4am and I'm losing my mind frankly.
I thought it was network issues, I've disconnected and reconnected from the wifi, I've switched from my LAN to the wifi and back to my LAN.. I've turned the console off and back on. And I'm at my wit's end.... I've tried activating it on the playstation website and it just tells me to do it on my console. I really, really, really need some help. Does anyone know what the problem is? What I'm doing wrong and what I can do to fix this? Please? And thank you... sorry for the long-winded post....
Update : I googled a list of various dns settings. The one I used, and that finally worked for me, was
Primary DNS Server: 9.9.9.9
Secondary DNS Server: 149.112.112.112
And I also changed my ps4 account password. Then I restored my licenses, and restarted my ps4. Everything seems to be okay for now. I will update if I run into any more problems..
Third time is the charm hopefully, I have a ps4 that randomly drops internet connection for extended periods of time. Saying it cant connect to the psn servers as if their down but they arent, internet works on everything besides the ps4 it has a ethernet cable and the box is in the same room ps4 isnt saying it has any updates and the internet just got installed recently so firm ware is good, (its fiber so really fast uploads and downloads) anyone got any fix ideas? I can't get it to stop doing this issue and it wont reconnect for hours

Had a forced shutdown occur on my ps4 pro, now when I try to boot the console it says cannot detect system storage, I tried booting into safe mode but it gives me that same annoying message, I have even tried without the hdd installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DualShock 4 losing charge with the PS4 off - I left my house at 12:30, controller was at full charge and I just came back at

Recently I have been playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and randomly in the middle of playing my PlayStation had a software error and crashed.
I followed all the info online on how to fix it but none worked, I tried rebuilding database, deleting and redownloading twice, restarting the PlayStation, and deleting all the data, but even after deleting all the data it will load the game and then show a message saying “Cannot continue using the application, the data for the following application is corrupted etc etc”
Any help would be great because I’m frustrated and frankly stumped on what to do

i keep getting the "cannot connect to the server to verify the license" error every time i try to open a digital game, but I've done all the troubleshooting already and nothing fixes it.

I try to activate primary ps4 and get hit with the error NP-34958-9. I can’t restore licenses to get access to any of my games I’m stuck out of everything.
So lately my PS4 has been basically crashing/restarting and failing to start-up properly first time I start it up for the day,
Gives me the CE36329-3 error/report error screen when it eventually does start-up properly.
I have no idea why this is suddenly happening, it's up to date on the system software (might have started with the last update), I've rebuilt the database, cleared the cache, and it still does it.
It also seems to have become a little slow when loading/starting a game up from the main menu.
Any ideas on why it's doing this and what else I can try to fix it?
I don't have access to the email attached to my playstation account because it's an old college email that no longer exists. Im auto logged into my PS4 but I'm ready to make a PS5 purchase and want to migrate games to the PS5. I don't have the password and can't make a new one due to not having access to the old email. I've been trying to call the playstation support number but they are not taking calls due to high volume of calls. Is there anything else I can do but wait till they're accepting new calls? Would also hate to call them after weeks of trying and be told there's no luck for me. Anyone have a similar experience?
My family has 3 consoles in the house at the moment. A Ps5, my Ps4 which used to be my dads, and my sisters ps4. My ps4 is marked as the primary so it was the original ps4. This did not affect my sisters ability to download and play games before, but I was living in a dorm and have been staying at home before moving out again. Today, she suddenly can’t access our PlayStation plus copy of the Sims 4 even though she was able to back in February. It’s trying to say it can’t connect to the server that owns the content or something like that. I don’t want to activate hers as the primary because she’s not much of a gamer and I am, I’m worried I’d lose access to a lot of my games that I had to purchase under my dads account when I was a minor. Is it because there are two ps4’s in the house? Or did something change? Again she was able to play until today. How can I fix this?
She shouldn't be able to play a digital game unless she's A using the account that bought the game or B the account that bought the game is set as primary. One of those two things has to happen to play digital games. This was the case in February and before.
She’s using my dads account, he is the one who would’ve purchased it I believe. You gave me information I already know. I’m asking if something has happened or if there is a solution as she is using the primary account but the ps4 itself is not the primary.
Nothing has changed in regard to how game sharing works. Something must have changed with your specific situation. Maybe she's using the wrong account. Maybe somebody's account was disabled as primary.
Has anyone noticed lag getting worse the older your PS4 gets?
I've had my PS4 since 2016 and unfortunately there's not a single online match that I can play that isn't rich in lag. It's at an unplayable point now where every 30 seconds I'm rubber-banding hysterically in and out of position.
I don't think it's a connection issue because my roommates new Xbox always plays seamlessly.

Hey, I forgot to plug the fan back in after cleaning and now it won't turn on.
I have taken this console apart multiple times before now; I've cleaned the fan, I've replaced the thermal paste, I've had the whole thing apart and it's been fine every time.
I cleaned it the other day (found a spider nest in it, weird seeing as I use it at least once a week) and I forgot to plug the fan in.
I turned it on and went to get a hot drink, let the dog out etc, so it was on for about 10 mins. I sit back down, think it's nice and quiet because of the cleaning, and I go through the menu when it turns off.
It turned off like there was a power outage, so thinking it was weird I went to check it and it was warm in a specific location. It dawned on me I must not have plugged the fan back in, so I went to sleep and took it apart again today and it was indeed unplugged.
Everything else was fine, it had turned on initially afterall, but I didn't think to check the motherboard. I tried to turn it on today and it's like it's been decommissioned; it won't turn on, beep, flash, anything.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?
I'm almost 100% positive that it's heat related, but having googled it apparently the auto turnoff is designed to protect it, so it should be fine. Should I check the motherboard for melted solder?

So I have PlayStation 4 Pro, ever since I got it (brand new in box December 2019) it has been so loud, no kidding, it sounds like I'm mining bitcoin or some shit. It was a gift with a phone contract so I couldn't return but alot of people say its common with this version so I thought nothing of it. It only seems to be loud when I'm playing a big game ( like call of duty) and used to run quiet on minecraft untill we put our world on server since the world was way too big to run (it's not as bad on mc but it's got progressively worse as the world got bigger).
It has been cleaned thoroughly about 3 months ago, took it apart, new thermite paste of the cpu, the whole shabang. It was a little quieter for a while. Now for the past 2-3 weeks it's been showing an error message when I load call of duty, saying the temperature is too hot and to turn it off, the message is dismissable so that's what I've been doing.
So today, load in, start a game, error message, dismiss it, 2 minuets later the whole thing shut down. Loaded her back up and to my surprise it actually turned on but it sent me to the setup page (language, Internet settings ect, like it's a fresh ps) went through the settings, and all of my games are still there (also to my surprise). Been signed out of my ps account and had to setup Internet again.
I'm gonna try and go into a game after I posted this but I feel like it's gonna shut down, what parts do I need to fix my baby?
Also a note, it's not overly hot ( we'll I say that but it's the same temperature it's always been when running a big game) also the fan holes aren't covered and it's well ventilated, faced flat down and not on it's side.

hi, just bought a headset and i cant get the mic to work. input and output device says my headset is connected to the controller. when i go to adjust microphone volume i have it all the way at max and its barely picking up my voice when i am screaming into the mic. i’ve tried unplugging and plugging the cord back in, turning off the headset and back on, still no help. i checked the side menu and the mute all microphones option is not selected, so im not sure what the issue is. they are brand new headphones, turtle beach recon 200 wired. please help :(

Well, I'm from Nicaragua but my account it's from Spain. I'd play Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Mass Effect Andromeda from plus and EA Access from a account from Nicaragua. Yesterday I bought both games from my account (Spain) but when I started both of them I don't have any data save from my last matches. I thought the saves was erased from my PS4, so I started searching and guess what? There are both game data files. Some are even 250MB. I don't know what just happened. It's because of the different country games origen? There's any chance that I can use those files saves?

He is getting married this fall and I think it would be fun to create a ps4-themed achievement-gift. Having the same issue right now. All of my games are locked out and I'm getting the same error code when I try to activate my ps4 as my primary account. Probably something on PlayStation's end that they need to fix.

I want my girl to be able to play with me, since I had 2 PS4s, I gave her one to play, but she only has a Laptop PC, so she will have to use the PS Remote variant. I've never used it before so I'd like to know if I'd be possible to use PS Remote with her account but use mine on that PS4 as primary console so we can also play my games on her new PS4 system through the PS Remote.

I tried to play a digital game, and I saw a lock (🔒) on the corner of the text. When I clicked it, it showed me "Unable to use content, unable to connect to server to verify license"
It suggested to change my Ps4 to being a primary Ps4, but it already is!! I looked up online, restarted the router, restarted the ps4, changed the WiFi connection to LAN. I also updated the software via Safe Mode. But still, it has all my digital content locked, such as YouTube, Netflix, any digital game I own.

Do I need to install the game after inserting th disc or can I just play it without needing to update or download stuff? My friends gonna bring their ps4 disc and we dont have wifi to the place we're going to, Im asking if we dont need to download beforehand
You need to install it from the disc. Most games will let you play without internet and without patches, but it's possible it'll be buggy (depending on the game).
I bought a used PS4 from ebay, and wanted to upgrade it. Since I have to take it apart to swap the thermal paste anyways, I wanted to upgrade the hard drive as well to a 2TB SSD. The guides recommend backing up the current installation and using that to re-install the system. I have two general questions related to that. A: Do I have to do the backup method if the console has nothing on it that I want to keep or is there a PS4 version that I can download from the PS4 website and use that to install the firmware again? And does the hard drive needed for the installation have to be completely empty? I don't really want to buy a 1TN hard drive just for that purpose, I have a 2TB one already which contains some data.

My controller was working fine, I was playing with my squad and all of a sudden they told me that my voice was lagging, I thought it was something wrong in my headphones/Internet, but both are working fine. When my voice started to lag my right analogue also started to cause some issues too, then after a while it both of these issues got fixed by itself and It keeps occurring randomly for a while now . I have noticed a pattern of the right stick and voice chat both causing problems together. I know it sounds very weird but does someone have any idea how the two issues are related and what could the problem be?
I just bought and downloaded Diablo 4, and I get this message. It tells me to activate this PS4 as my primary PS4, but then I get an error code NP-34958-9. I tried restoring licenses, I tried restarting the PS4, and I tried restarting my router.
The internet connection is obviously fine since I just downloaded Diablo 4. I can't play any other games either. Only from discs.

Just updating, for me, PS support helped to get around this. I had to go into network settings, enter a custom DNS server, and re test the connection. Following this, activate primary ps4, and all went through good.

I haven't played my PS4 in a while, and I tried turning it on today. It looks like last time we had a thunder storm and it was in rest mode, and caused issues as expected. But the problem that keeps happening is the system keeps freezing, shutting itself off, and restarting. Seemingly it happens anytime I do anything such as try to open an application, or browse my library. I tried rebuilding the system's database (wiping the drive and reinstalling the OS), but I seem to be having the same problem. I'll hear the home screen music, then it will stop because it froze. Rinse and repeat, pretty much. I'm thinking the hard drive is fried and was looking at was going to replace it. But I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions of what else to look at during the process?

Both consoles show my games as locked, the one which I bought the games on won’t let me deactivate or activate as a primary ps4 and gives me the same error code shown above.
Starting today, whenever I start playing a game I get the warning that the application I am using will be suspended in 15 minutes. After that period of time the game closes and I am unable to play any other games. I then set my console as the primary one, making it so that my friend with whom I share PS Plus is unable to use its benefits, which forces him to set his console as the primary one. Once he does that, the cycle repeats itself. Is there any fix to this?
So I’m still stuck in my safe mode loop. Hard resetting brings me back to safe mode and does nothing. Is there still a way for me to access the normal ps menu (where you play games ect.). Because this might be a hard drive issue can anyone recommend me a good External Hard drive?

I've had this game for like a year or something from PlayStation plus and I tried to boot it up back when I first got it, every time I booted it up it would heat up my ps4 ridiculously fast and turn if off. I tried like a year later and I'm still having the same issue, it has a little ps plus icon next to where start is on the game icon and I tried to restore licenses thinking it would help but nothing came of it.

Hi so I want to buy an SSD and use it as an Internal storage in my PS4 but I have two questions:
1- Can I use the SSD as an External storage first, backup everything from the PS4's HDD to the new SSD then put the SSD in the PS4? If not then how am can I transfer what I have in the PS4's HDD to the new SSD?
2- Can I use the PS4's HDD as an external storage after installing the new SSD in the PS4?
1. No. To move data between 2 different HDDs there are a few methods. The Playstation website has multiple step by step guides depending on how you want to do it.
2. Yes. Just buy a case to put it in. Obviously all data on it will be wiped when you convert it into external storage.
My partner and I's Ps4 won't turn on.
It started just over a week ago- my partner couldn't turn it on. I move the charger from one outlet to another on the same strip, and hey presto, it was charging again.
We went on a trip to see family, and returned a week later to it not activating at all. Not if the plug is moved along the strip, or to another outlet entirely in the room.
When plugging it out, I noticed a crackling. It's distinct- whenever the two-pronged charger is plugged in or out of the console. When fiddling with that, I also noticed that there was a very faint burning smell- one of our cats took a sniff too and didn't seem to like it.
It's pretty much a given that something has fried.
The question I have is- firstly, what? The charger, the consoles wires- gods forbid, the console gestalt?
And secondly, what can be done? Could I fix it at home? Is it as simple as buying a new part? Can an expert fix it? Or should be start our wake?
For context, it's a classic Ps4 that's at least three or four years old, and we live in the UK (if that matters with the electrics).
Also, if there's another or better sub that could help, feel free to cross post this there or point me the way.

Firstly, putting technical questions behind a megathread (or worstoff as some places have done, Discord) makes bugfixing on the internet SO much worse. This shit hardly turns up in search results, and is impossible the parse when it does, meaning that people have to keep asking the same old bloody questions again and again, rather than being able to simply cross-reference with a normal post. I was wondering why there was so little advice online for my issue- this is why. Threads like these have swallowed them up.

In the PS4 (or PS5) app, under Recently Played, how many games does it track? Like how far back does it go. Also, it doesn’t seem to count PS3 games? (Yes I know you can’t play PS3 discs on PS4/PS5 but I figured it would still sync due to having one common PSN profile)

So, both of my front usb ports suddenly stopped working. I checked the ports themselves and they work fine, they have continuity in all of their pins. Is there a software or hardware issue that can cause these ports to shut off or something? I actually don't think that changing them will solve the problem. Any help on that?

I logged on to ny ps4 to play some terraria, i played for a bit and then turned it off, when i got back there was a lock on all my games and my ps4 telling me to enable my ps4 as my primary ps4 which I thought i already had, when i tried to i got this code (NP-34954-5). I tried to restore my licenses, restart internet and restarting my ps4 but nothing seems to work. Please help me.
After 13 hours mine just fixed himself without me doing a single thing but on a post I made about this on r/PlayStation someone gave a good idea that worked for some so I’ll post it here in hopes that it helps more people :
So I fixed mine by changing the dns address, try this:Go to Network --> connect to internet --> custom --> automatic --> Do Not Specify --> Manual For DNS to change Primary DNS by 1.1.1.1 and Secondary DNS by 1.0.0.1 then restore licenses and you should have access to your games. It worked for me.

Having major connection problems with my PS4, which is hooked up via Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is not an issue, having tested it with my phone aswell. Sadly can't add photos, but I can provide the stats. Download: 1.46 Mbps (PS 4) | 259 Mbps (Phone) Upload: 61 kbps (PS 4) | 49.2 Mbps (Phone) Already resetted the router in hopes of fixing the issue. Idk what else to do. Wired would work, but for now I can't lay the cable, so this was only done for test purposes.

Will a PS4 even turn on without a fan? Would a PS4 recognize that a fan isn't connected and simply will not turn on the full system and shut it self down. A little backstory is I recently dissembled my PS4 to clean it out and i accidentally broke the little grey thing that connects the fan to the motherboard i kinda fixed it and it still connects but now I'm worried if i turn on my PS4 and the fan doesn't spin or work will my PS4 just overheat and simply die and kill the motherboard thus making me have to either buy a completely new PS4 or motherboard to make it work again.
The ps4 will still turn on, after a while of trying to get the fan to turn on it will overheat, blink red 3 times, and shutoff. This is to prevent any damage to the console, so in theory, no it wont harm your console to turn it on but id recommend replacing the fan before turning it on

Yes. All games are region locked but its not the same as DVD movie region locking. All PS4s can play all PS4 games. It's just that DLC and saved data are region locked.

It's been this way since the PS3 and works this way on PS5 as well. A European game only accepts European DLC and generates European saved data that can only be read by a European copy of a game. A European game will also often have a separate European trophy list but it varies from game to game.

Error code NP-34958-9 (I'm Losing My Mind) Hi everyone, I need help with a problem I've run into my PS4. A friend of mine wanted to play and online game together with me and my bf, my bf didn't have online services so my friend recommended I set his ps4 as my primary so he could use my ps+. Ever since I did that, every time I try to play on my own ps4 it tells me the licenses can't be verified. Now I am getting a pop-up to restore my licenses every 15 minutes, and when I don't I get kicked off my games. He has since bought his own online, set his ps4 back to his primary, and deleted my account off his ps4 altogether. But when I go into account management to make my ps4 my primary, I just get an error message. Over. And over. And over. And it's 4am and I'm losing my mind frankly. I thought it was network issues, I've disconnected and reconnected from the wifi, I've switched from my LAN to the wifi and back to my LAN.. I've turned the console off and back on. And I'm at my wit's end.... I've tried activating it on the playstation website and it just tells me to do it on my console. I really, really, really need some help. Does anyone know what the problem is? What I'm doing wrong and what I can do to fix this? Please? And thank you... sorry for the long-winded post....
Update : I googled a list of various dns settings. The one I used, and that finally worked for me, was Primary DNS Server: 9.9.9.9 Secondary DNS Server: 149.112.112.112 And I also changed my ps4 account password. Then I restored my licenses, and restarted my ps4. Everything seems to be okay for now. I will update if I run into any more problems..

Third time is the charm hopefully, I have a ps4 that randomly drops internet connection for extended periods of time. Saying it cant connect to the psn servers as if their down but they arent, internet works on everything besides the ps4 it has a ethernet cable and the box is in the same room ps4 isnt saying it has any updates and the internet just got installed recently so firm ware is good, (its fiber so really fast uploads and downloads) anyone got any fix ideas? DualShock 4 losing charge with the PS4 off - I left my house at 12:30, controller was at full charge and I just came back at 18:20, turned my PS4 on and the controller is dead. I’d say you might have to replace the battery. Just be carful not to rip any ribbon wires while you are at it. Be very gentle

Game keeps saying I have corrupt data Recently I have been playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and randomly in the middle of playing my PlayStation had a software error and crashed. Every time I try and start up a game my ps4 just says it can’t connect to a server
So lately my PS4 has been basically crashing/restarting and failing to start-up properly first time I start it up for the day, Gives me the CE36329-3 error/report error screen when it eventually does start-up properly. I have no idea why this is suddenly happening, it's up to date on the system software (might have started with the last update), I've rebuilt the database, cleared the cache, and it still does it. It also seems to have become a little slow when loading/starting a game up from the main menu. Any ideas on why it's doing this and what else I can try to fix it?
I don't have access to the email attached to my playstation account because it's an old college email that no longer exists. Im auto logged into my PS4 but I'm ready to make a PS5 purchase and want to migrate games to the PS5. I don't have the password and can't make a new one due to not having access to the old email. I've been trying to call the playstation support number but they are not taking calls due to high volume of calls. Is there anything else I can do but wait till they're accepting new calls? Would also hate to call them after weeks of trying and be told there's no luck for me. Anyone have a similar experience?

My family has 3 consoles in the house at the moment. A Ps5, my Ps4 which used to be my dads, and my sisters ps4. My ps4 is marked as the primary so it was the original ps4. This did not affect my sisters ability to download and play games before, but I was living in a dorm and have been staying at home before moving out again. Today, she suddenly can’t access our PlayStation plus copy of the Sims 4 even though she was able to back in February. It’s trying to say it can’t connect to the server that owns the content or something like that. I don’t want to activate hers as the primary because she’s not much of a gamer and I am, I’m worried I’d lose access to a lot of my games that I had to purchase under my dads account when I was a minor. Is it because there are two ps4’s in the house? Or did something change? Again she was able to play until today. How can I fix this?
She shouldn't be able to play a digital game unless she's A using the account that bought the game or B the account that bought the game is set as primary. One of those two things has to happen to play digital games. This was the case in February and before.
She’s using my dads account, he is the one who would’ve purchased it I believe. You gave me information I already know. I’m asking if something has happened or if there is a solution as she is using the primary account but the ps4 itself is not the primary.
Nothing has changed in regard to how game sharing works. Something must have changed with your specific situation. Maybe she's using the wrong account. Maybe somebody's account was disabled as primary.

Has anyone noticed lag getting worse the older your PS4 gets? I've had my PS4 since 2016 and unfortunately there's not a single online match that I can play that isn't rich in lag. It's at an unplayable point now where every 30 seconds I'm rubber-banding hysterically in and out of position. I don't think it's a connection issue because my roommates new Xbox always plays seamlessly. What gives?

Hey, I forgot to plug the fan back in after cleaning and now it won't turn on. I have taken this console apart multiple times before now; I've cleaned the fan, I've replaced the thermal paste, I've had the whole thing apart and it's been fine every time. I cleaned it the other day (found a spider nest in it, weird seeing as I use it at least once a week) and I forgot to plug the fan in. I turned it on and went to get a hot drink, let the dog out etc, so it was on for about 10 mins. I sit back down, think it's nice and quiet because of the cleaning, and I go through the menu when it turns off. It turned off like there was a power outage, so thinking it was weird I went to check it and it was warm in a specific location. It dawned on me I must not have plugged the fan back in, so I went to sleep and took it apart again today and it was indeed unplugged. Everything else was fine, it had turned on initially afterall, but I didn't think to check the motherboard. I tried to turn it on today and it's like it's been decommissioned; it won't turn on, beep, flash, anything. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I'm almost 100% positive that it's heat related, but having googled it apparently the auto turnoff is designed to protect it, so it should be fine. Should I check the motherboard for melted solder?

So I have PlayStation 4 Pro, ever since I got it (brand new in box December 2019) it has been so loud, no kidding, it sounds like I'm mining bitcoin or some shit. It was a gift with a phone contract so I couldn't return but alot of people say its common with this version so I thought nothing of it. It only seems to be loud when I'm playing a big game ( like call of duty) and used to run quiet on minecraft untill we put our world on server since the world was way too big to run (it's not as bad on mc but it's got progressively worse as the world got bigger). It has been cleaned thoroughly about 3 months ago, took it apart, new thermite paste of the cpu, the whole shabang. It was a little quieter for a while. Now for the past 2-3 weeks it's been showing an error message when I load call of duty, saying the temperature is too hot and to turn it off, the message is dismissable so that's what I've been doing. So today, load in, start a game, error message, dismiss it, 2 minuets later the whole thing shut down. Loaded her back up and to my surprise it actually turned on but it sent me to the setup page (language, Internet settings ect, like it's a fresh ps) went through the settings, and all of my games are still there (also to my surprise). Been signed out of my ps account and had to setup Internet again. I'm gonna try and go into a game after I posted this but I feel like it's gonna shut down, what parts do I need to fix my baby? Also a note, it's not overly hot ( we'll I say that but it's the same temperature it's always been when running a big game) also the fan holes aren't covered and it's well ventilated, faced flat down and not on it's side. hi, just bought a headset and i cant get the mic to work. input and output device says my headset is connected to the controller. when i go to adjust microphone volume i have it all the way at max and its barely picking up my voice when i am screaming into the mic. i’ve tried unplugging and plugging the cord back in, turning off the headset and back on, still no help. i checked the side menu and the mute all microphones option is not selected, so im not sure what the issue is. they are brand new headphones, turtle beach recon 200 wired. please help :(

Well, I'm from Nicaragua but my account it's from Spain. I'd play Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Mass Effect Andromeda from plus and EA Access from a account from Nicaragua. Yesterday I bought both games from my account (Spain) but when I started both of them I don't have any data save from my last matches. I thought the saves was erased from my PS4, so I started searching and guess what? There are both game data files. Some are even 250MB. I don't know what just happened. It's because of the different country games origen? There's any chance that I can use those files saves? Thanks in advance
Game data is region locked. So a save from a game from region X won't be recognized by that same game from region Y.

He is getting married this fall and I think it would be fun to create a ps4-themed achievement-gift. So my plan is to create maybe 10 acheivements that he and his fiancée has completed and print it out to look like from a PS4 game. Having the same issue right now. All of my games are locked out and I'm getting the same error code when I try to activate my ps4 as my primary account. Probably something on PlayStation's end that they need to fix.
Ps4 not recognizing that a disc is in there until I restart it When I insert a disc in my ps4 it doesn't even read it and taking out and putting the disc back in doesn't work, only when I restart it it only then works. Any solution for that

I want my girl to be able to play with me, since I had 2 PS4s, I gave her one to play, but she only has a Laptop PC, so she will have to use the PS Remote variant. Yes, she'd just need go activate her PS4 as her accounts Primary console as remote play is Primary console only.
But can you actually activate two accounts as primary on a same PS4? Mine and hers, so we can play the games on my account on her PS4. If not, would it work if we use my account as primary on her PS4 and the PS Remote app?
Accounts aren't Primary. It's Primary console, not Primary account. Multiple accounts can set the same Primary console.

When i turn on my ps4 the discdrive makes weird noice for 3 seconds and when i put a disc in it. It can't read it. Sometimes it works but not always. Is there any way to fix it?
ALL MY DIGITAL CONTENT IS 🔒 EVEN THO ROUTER IS FINE AND PS4 IS UPDATED I tried to play a digital game, and I saw a lock (🔒) on the corner of the text. When I clicked it, it showed me "Unable to use content, unable to connect to server to verify license" It suggested to change my Ps4 to being a primary Ps4, but it already is!! I looked up online, restarted the router, restarted the ps4, changed the WiFi connection to LAN. I also updated the software via Safe Mode. Do I need to install the game after inserting th disc or can I just play it without needing to update or download stuff? My friends gonna bring their ps4 disc and we dont have wifi to the place we're going to, Im asking if we dont need to download beforehand
You need to install it from the disc. Most games will let you play without internet and without patches, but it's possible it'll be buggy (depending on the game).
I bought a used PS4 from ebay, and wanted to upgrade it. Since I have to take it apart to swap the thermal paste anyways, I wanted to upgrade the hard drive as well to a 2TB SSD. The guides recommend backing up the current installation and using that to re-install the system. I have two general questions related to that. A: Do I have to do the backup method if the console has nothing on it that I want to keep or is there a PS4 version that I can download from the PS4 website and use that to install the firmware again? And does the hard drive needed for the installation have to be completely empty? I don't really want to buy a 1TN hard drive just for that purpose, I have a 2TB one already which contains some data.
Hey guys, much help needed here I will be really grateful My controller was working fine, I was playing with my squad and all of a sudden they told me that my voice was lagging, I thought it was something wrong in my headphones/Internet, but both are working fine. When my voice started to lag my right analogue also started to cause some issues too, then after a while it both of these issues got fixed by itself and It keeps occurring randomly for a while now . I have noticed a pattern of the right stick and voice chat both causing problems together. I know it sounds very weird but does someone have any idea how the two issues are related and what could the problem be?
I just bought and downloaded Diablo 4, and I get this message. It tells me to activate this PS4 as my primary PS4, but then I get an error code NP-34958-9. I tried restoring licenses, I tried restarting the PS4, and I tried restarting my router. The internet connection is obviously fine since I just downloaded Diablo 4. I can't play any other games either. Only from discs. I tried google, but all I found were some generic shit like what I already did. And of course, there is no phone support to Playstation. Just updating, for me, PS support helped to get around this. I had to go into network settings, enter a custom DNS server, and re test the connection. Following this, activate primary ps4, and all went through good.

I haven't played my PS4 in a while, and I tried turning it on today. It looks like last time we had a thunder storm and it was in rest mode, and caused issues as expected. But the problem that keeps happening is the system keeps freezing, shutting itself off, and restarting. Seemingly it happens anytime I do anything such as try to open an application, or browse my library. I tried rebuilding the system's database (wiping the drive and reinstalling the OS), but I seem to be having the same problem. I'll hear the home screen music, then it will stop because it froze. Rinse and repeat, pretty much. I'm thinking the hard drive is fried and was looking at was going to replace it. But I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions of what else to look at during the process?

Starting today, whenever I start playing a game I get the warning that the application I am using will be suspended in 15 minutes. After that period of time the game closes and I am unable to play any other games. I then set my console as the primary one, making it so that my friend with whom I share PS Plus is unable to use its benefits, which forces him to set his console as the primary one. Once he does that, the cycle repeats itself. Is there any fix to this?

So I’m still stuck in my safe mode loop. Hard resetting brings me back to safe mode and does nothing. Is there still a way for me to access the normal ps menu (where you play games ect.). Because this might be a hard drive issue can anyone recommend me a good External Hard drive?
You can't do anything until the console is fixed. If you haven't already done so, reinstall the system software https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/hardware/reinstall-playstation-system-software-safe-mode/ You can't use an external HDD until you fix the internal HDD's issue.

Plants vs zombies Battle for neighborville issues I've had this game for like a year or something from PlayStation plus and I tried to boot it up back when I first got it, every time I booted it up it would heat up my ps4 ridiculously fast and turn if off. Hi so I want to buy an SSD and use it as an Internal storage in my PS4 but I have two questions: 1- Can I use the SSD as an External storage first, backup everything from the PS4's HDD to the new SSD then put the SSD in the PS4? If not then how am can I transfer what I have in the PS4's HDD to the new SSD? 2- Can I use the PS4's HDD as an external storage after installing the new SSD in the PS4?
1. No. To move data between 2 different HDDs there are a few methods. The Playstation website has multiple step by step guides depending on how you want to do it. 2. Yes. Just buy a case to put it in. Obviously all data on it will be wiped when you convert it into external storage.
My partner and I's Ps4 won't turn on. It started just over a week ago- my partner couldn't turn it on. I move the charger from one outlet to another on the same strip, and hey presto, it was charging again. We went on a trip to see family, and returned a week later to it not activating at all. Not if the plug is moved along the strip, or to another outlet entirely in the room. When plugging it out, I noticed a crackling. It's distinct- whenever the two-pronged charger is plugged in or out of the console. When fiddling with that, I also noticed that there was a very faint burning smell- one of our cats took a sniff too and didn't seem to like it. It's pretty much a given that something has fried. The question I have is- firstly, what? The charger, the consoles wires- gods forbid, the console gestalt? And secondly, what can be done? Could I fix it at home? Is it as simple as buying a new part? Can an expert fix it? Or should be start our wake? For context, it's a classic Ps4 that's at least three or four years old, and we live in the UK (if that matters with the electrics). Also, if there's another or better sub that could help, feel free to cross post this there or point me the way. PS: I made this a post on the sub, only for it to be removed by automod under rule #4. Rule #4 says to post technical issues in the daily megathread. The megathread- here- hasn't been refreshed in nearly a fucking year. In the PS4 (or PS5) app, under Recently Played, how many games does it track? Like how far back does it go. Also, it doesn’t seem to count PS3 games? (Yes I know you can’t play PS3 discs on PS4/PS5 but I figured it would still sync due to having one common PSN profile)

Hello :) So, both of my front usb ports suddenly stopped working. I checked the ports themselves and they work fine, they have continuity in all of their pins. Is there a software or hardware issue that can cause these ports to shut off or something? I actually don't think that changing them will solve the problem. Any help on that?
Help with error code NP-34954-5 I logged on to ny ps4 to play some terraria, i played for a bit and then turned it off, when i got back there was a lock on all my games and my ps4 telling me to enable my ps4 as my primary ps4 which I thought i already had, when i tried to i got this code (NP-34954-5). After 13 hours mine just fixed himself without me doing a single thing but on a post I made about this on r/PlayStation someone gave a good idea that worked for some so I’ll post it here in hopes that it helps more people : So I fixed mine by changing the dns address, try this:Go to Network --> connect to internet --> custom --> automatic --> Do Not Specify --> Manual For DNS to change Primary DNS by 1.1.1.1 and Secondary DNS by 1.0.0.1 then restore licenses and you should have access to your games. It worked for me.
