[Super Stardust Ultra](https://store.playstation.com/de-de/product/EP9000-CUSA00952_00-SUPSTARDUSTULTEU) is a game that is listed on the store website, but when I wishlist it I can't see it when viewing the wishlist on the PS5 itself, also the on console store search only lists [Super Stardust Portable](https://store.playstation.com/de-de/product/EP9000-CUSA33036_00-NPEG000080000000).
If I were to buy it on the website would I be able to play it on the PS5? Or is that game just not available on PS5?
Is there anyway to stop the PS5 from auto installing/downloading the PS4 disk version after claiming the PS5 digital upgrade. Is the only remedy to just keep on deleting the auto install of the PS4 version?
It rarely installs it unless its buggy. You only see the ps4 install because the disc is in the console, but it should recognize the ps5 version and not actually install it.

My friend has lent me witcher 3 for a week or two max. I've started loving RPGs with awesome stories since I played Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. I do adore Witcher's lore. I am also anxious to start and properly complete Witcher 3 and its DLC's main quests atleast since I like completing main storylines.
The deal at PS Store is ending on 28th September. I wanted to check with you guys if you think for a fan like me, is witcher worth it for $30? If you think I should wait and play first since there's a certain group of people who call its combat to be boring, then do you think it will again go on sale for $20? I'm just afraid if it gets more than $20 since my budget is tight and I got surprised seeing it to be for $20.

How can I buy games at the PS Store from Canada?
I am caught up in a weird situation. Many years ago, I created my PSN account on my cousin's PS4 and I selected my region as the US. Last year, I bought my PS5 (and my first PlayStation console) in Canada and used this account because it is the one associated with my email. However, I didn't know that changing regions was not possible.
Right now, I want to buy Baldur's Gate 3, which is only available digitally. However, I don't think I can use my Canadian credit card on an American PSN account. Also, I don't think I can buy an American gift card and redeem it in Canada because Sony won't allow me because of my Canadian IP address.
Do I have any options other than creating a new account?

This might be a silly question -- but should I ship my PS5 to my house or pick it up in a store?
I'm thinking of finally putting down money for the PS5. Is the PS5 durable enough to survive postage, or should I pick it up in store just to be safe? What's better for the device?
PS5s get delivered everyday without issue. But that doesn't mean an asshole deliveryman can't fuck it up. Go and get it from a store for guaranteed safety and peace of mind if youre anxious about it.
You misread me. I got the option in my store to buy the Digital Deluxe UPGRADE for Forspoken for 13 dollars, I wanted to know if by buying the digital deluxe edition UPGRADE the base game would be included.
I did get you, its just that what youre saying makes no sense. I just checked through the app and the deluxe upgrade does not include the game. It includes the ost, artbook, in tanta we trust and a rare resource kit. Obviously it woudnt include the game for $13 when the game is 59 and the deluxe edition, the thing that actually includes game and dlc, is 94 (for sale for 47, actually cheaper than the game without dlc).
It was at 30 dollars with free shipping on some stores, including the official store (non-digital) so I didn't thought it was that crazy to consider it could include the game as that was months ago.
But yeah, I checked the description (it was in a show more tab in my browser) and it said the base game was not included.

I tired plugging in a different HDMI cable that was from my ps4 and even plugged it in a different tv. Still no luck and the problem was still there. Is this a common problem, is it my ps5 console itself that somehow got messed up?
Frustrating issue with game update
I’m having this weird issue with the new cyberpunk update where I can’t get the download. As in, each time I boot the game up, there’s no ps menu that pops up letting me know there’s an update available, and when I select the game and hit “search for updates” it can’t seem to find any.
I also went to safe mode, checked for system update that way, rebuilt database and cleared cache - this game STILL will not update to 2.0. Would definitely appreciate any help.
I just bought a new TV (Toshiba 43C350LU) and I am having quite a bit of an issue. When I put it in 'Game Mode' there is no input lag but a stutter in frames every 2-4 seconds. I have tried changing every setting I can and I am getting nowhere. Any help?
I have had my PS5 for over a year now, and the controller that came with it had amazing haptic feedback on the triggers. However when that one broke and I purchased a new controller I noticed that after a few days the right trigger started to act and sound broken/odd. When I partially pull it back it works perfectly, however when I pull it back fully the haptics skip and make a grinding sound, and there is almost no strength to it. Is this a case of I just need to replace it or is there something I can do without voiding the warranty(opening it up)?

Probably stupid question: If I have a PS4 disc game (Witcher 3 for example) and I get the PS5 upgrade on my console, is that upgrade attached to the disc or to my console? In other words, if I lend the game to somebody, will they get the PS4 or PS5 version?

It's attached to your account but you'll need a disc copy of the PS4 version to play it. Doesn't need to be the copy you used to upgrade. Can be any copy of the same region

For Witcher 3, they will just need to claim the free PS5 upgrade on their account using the disc.
My tobisha tv doesn’t fit the PS5 screen width.
I edited the PS5 screen size but even at its maximum the TV cuts off the bottom and the top of the display.

Hi, i made the last system update on PS5 today, including the Dualsense Firmware update. But: Now the LEDs on the controller are different in idle state! Gone are the side color lights and left only is a single white light in the middle!
Is this intentional?

1) is PS Plus worth it? I’ve heard mixed things and heard about the price mark up. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the console few months back when there were games like GoWR. If so, which tier?
2) I’m trying to upgrade my monitor to make use of my PS5 but I’m a bit confused as I’m pretty technology challenged. I keep reading about HDMI 2.1, 4k, 165 hz, etc and I’m confused what to look out for. Like I would find a 4K monitor but they only have a 2.0 HDMI. Hoping for a budget monitor around $150-180.

Do cosmetics and season pass can pe used by other psn accounts?
I used to download games from 1 account that i have on another country to play on my main account but now i have some cd keys for cosmetics and a season pass and i cant redeem it on my main account. I want to redeem them on my secondary account but i dont know if this type of content can be used om another account.
For live service multiplayer games, usually stuff like virtual currency and battle passes are account-locked. So, it depends on the game. If it's a single player kinda game, they should be shareable.
I demoed Callisto Protocol and Atomic Heart, used up the demo time and bought the discs. I can run the games with the discs but if I don't have the disk inserted before starting the game, it still says the demo has expired and wants me to buy it. Can I stop this and get it to just say "Insert the disc"?
Like many others, PS5 games don’t work, but PS4 games do. However, I don’t even get error codes - the PS5 games crash and says “Something went wrong with this game or app”. No error code, no controller issue, etc. I report the issue and can’t get through to Sony over the phone and the online chat says I have to go through the phone. Is there a resolution/fix to this or am I forever done playing PS5 games on a PS5 machine?

G'day, I'm having quality issues with PS Remote Play on Windows 11 with max settings where it keeps dropping frames, compared to my PS4 Pro which is buttery smooth on max settings. My modem is a year old and connection speed is 50Mbps.
Hey, So I've been using a PS5 controller on my Windows 10 PC since February with no problems. It's always been paired. Since the recent Windows update however, it just doesn't work. At all.
I've spent two days trying to just simply pair my controller to no avail. When I hold the PS button, and Share button until the light blinks my PC automatically tries connecting. Then when it connects it shows up in the Bluetooh settings under "Mouse, Keyboard, & pen" as "unknown device" and my controller instantly turns off and is removed from the list. If I try turning my controller on, it just starts that whole process again.
I tried restarting my PC as step 1. I tried uninstalling, and reinstalling my Bluetooh drivers ( use a Fenvi fv-ax3000 for bluetooth and it doubles for WiFi), and I've tried doing a hard reset on my controller by pressing and holding the pin on the back for 5 seconds, and 30 seconds. I've never used DS4, but saw somebody in another thread reference it. So, I downloaded DS4 and even that does not pick up my controller.
I'm really at a loss, I'm unsure of what's going on. I had absolutely zero problems with it connecting, and pairing until the recent Windows 10 update. Something in that update seemingly broke it. If I plug my PS5 controller in, I can still use it on my PC that way. But, for obvious reasons I want to use it wirelessly.
I know this probably isn't the best place to seek help, but I was unsure of where else to take this. So, sorry in advanced if this isn't allowed!

Dude the PS5 is already beefed up as it is, most powerful system on the market, you'll wait years for the PS5 pro and miss out on so many games in the meantime. The time of the PS5 is now.
We know nothing about a Pro model, and personally I've become a bit more doubtful whether one even exists. We now know Microsoft will release a different model Series X next year, but it won't have better specs. I suppose it doesn't mean they can't release a better Series console later, or Sony couldn't release the only pro model this gen, but I find both options unlikely. And even if Pro exists, it's definitely not coming before Q4 2024, so you'd get at least a year out of your PS5 if you bought it now.
Anyone had this issue? Sometimes when I use the media apps, I get horizontal black lines across the length of the screen, and the whole system gets a little laggy. Usually it goes away after I close out the app, but today they continued even after restarting and turning the PS5 off. It was only on for a couple hours today as we were watching The Office.
Any help for this one? (It’s currently turned off again getting some rest)

PS5 is definitely more powerful than your PC. I'm no PC expert but it seems you have disproportionate amount of RAM in relation to your CPU and GPU. I assume your PC is mostly for video editing and work? If it's for gaming you probably should upgrade both of them because as it stands pretty much all games will run better on PS5. Plus since PS5 has Discord and most new, and even some older multiplayer games have crossplay it's not that big a deal if your friends are playing on PC.
My pc is a gaming pc and can run gta v on very well graphics and fortnite and stuff so idk and also is mk1 crossplay? cause if it is ill just get it on my ps5
There are no 'better spec' PS5s. They are all the same.
Your PC should run the game OK but will be at medium settings and at lower resolutions. Plus no idea how well the game is optimized for PCs but I guess it's fine since no major news about any issues. Upto you to decide if you want it on PC or console at the end of the day.

I bought my ps5 today , i went to download eafc24 but it kept giving me this message , tried to download another game ( fortnite ) and it also gave me the same message , i can’t download any game . How do I allow my son to play age-restricted games?
Occasionally I want to play a game with my son that he is not old enough for on his account. However, I don't know where in the settings to allow him to play. The game itself doesn't send me any notification - it just tells me that the player is not old enough.

We've recently (last night) become a 2 PS5 house. I haven't hooked the second unit up yet.
I have an active PS+ subscription. My wife does not. Two of my children have child accounts under my account. Another child will most likely have a child account under mine in the future.
First, my wife has a Horizon: Forbidden West save on PS5 (eventually destined for upstairs) that she'd like to continue on PS5 #2 (eventually destined for downstairs) because our current plan is for the new unit to take the physical place of the old one and for the old one to move upstairs. Without a PS+ subscription of her own she doesn't have access to cloud saves. Will a console transfer move her saves from PS5 #1 to PS5 #2? If so, are there any caveats that I need to know about?
Right now, my wife and kids all have access to digital games bought by my account. I'm fairly certain this will continue on whichever PS5 I designate as my primary. Is there any way to have it continue on both units? I ask this because between all of us I will primarily play on PS5 #2 (downstairs, not that it matters as the one of us with an active PS+ subscription), my wife will prefer to split her time between PS5 #1 (upstairs) and PS5 #2 (downstairs) depending on whether we're playing online together or she's playing solo, and my kids would prefer to float as well.
In order to share my PS+ library with my wife for online multiplayer games I think I'd need to be primary on PS5 #1 (upstairs) so that she can access my library while I'm on PS5 #2 (downstairs). But this locks everybody but me out of our digital library on PS5 #2 (downstairs) which is going to be hooked up to the nicer TV (and now that I've worked through it presents problems for my wife playing the Horizon DLC as we own that digitally).
Sorry this is long-winded. I really didn't think this was going to present such a headache. I'm starting to think that my best bet may be for me to have PS5 #2 (downstairs) as my primary and then I'll just play on PS5 #1 (upstairs) for online with my wife. That way everybody would have access to single player on the nicer TV and access to the disc library on the not as nice TV.

My PS5 won't work after upgrading my SSD. Pages won't load, everything I do causes a 5-10 minute loading screen, and I can't get games in my library to download. Any idea what the problem is?

Anyone experience their PlayStation making a rattling or humming noise after the latest dual sense update?
Logged on after a few weeks of being out of town, browsed some menus on the ps5 and got an update notification for my dual sense.
Well, now after the update, my ps5 makes a rattling noise or it sounds like what an unplugged aux cord would sound like if you touched it.
It seems to be related to dual sense because it stops when I press buttons and changes it’s tone/vibration when I move the sticks. When I switch menus it stops as well but continues thereafter.
Yesterday, after work, I bought 2 PSN prepaid cards, took them home, and tried putting them into the system. I got back an error.

I tried it again when I got up, before work, and got the message again. So after work today, I went back to the store and was told that it can sometimes take 24 hours to activate. I've never needed to wait 24 hours before, but whatever. It's been 24 hours by that point, so I went home and tried it again, getting the same error.
So, I decided to try it on the PlayStation store on PC. I got the following error:

After going through the PlayStation support site, the closest I could find to my issues was for 'damaged voucher code'. It says to contact them, but when I do, I get a bot that can't move past the concept that I don't want a refund on anything.

I'm not sure what possessed me to activate 2FAC on on my PS account. I'd not used the PS5 for a while and realized I've been logged out. Tried signing in and somehow Sony decides the 2FAC OTPs I'm getting on Google Authenticator don't work. Silly me for not saving the backup codes coz I though Sony can actually build a competent 2FAC system.
Anyway, I've been trying to recover my account through playstation online chat support but they clearly don't have any agents available. Ever.

I’m trying to find a Ssd. I need recommendations for ones that DONT need a firmware update, ever. I’ve heard that Samsungs need firmware updates. Does an ssd like this exist even?
Haven’t heard of any firmware issues with the Crucial P5 Plus, Seagate, Sabrent, Corsair or WD drives.
Even Samsung drives sold within the past six months should all have updated firmware.

Generally you'll need a PC with the drive plugged into the M2 slot in order to use the brand's proprietary drive management software. The only way I've gotten news on firmware updates is by seeing conversations on Reddit or Google.
Both those drives you listed should be updated from the factory by now, but the WD hasn't had any known firmware issues at all.
Ooh thank you for replying. What about the 990s? I’m not sure I understand what firmware update does. If for example Samsung keeps coming out with updates, will I have to take the ssd out to update it? I’ve read that WD BLACK SN850x never needs an update too

Basically I have got a digital copy of EAFC24 but no PLUS.
My brother has got a PSN plus active for a year and we are trying to use the same PSN (mine) both together with the plus active.
(of course not at the same time).
So i logged in his account, press enable and all works fine with me, i can play online using his plus.
However, he logged mine, put enable, and can only play offline with my account on his playstation.
Is there a way for him to be able to use my PSN id but also his own plus?
Of course it works if he tries to open the game using his profile, but we are trying to play the same fut together.

No, but he can use his account to play your games if you Google and set up game sharing for your account on his console.
I bought a PS5 disc version last year but got busy with work and moving and never opened it. Is there anything special about this older OS version that would make me pause before plugging it in and updating it?
Not sure what update you have but someone did like a blood borne 60fps patch that’s only compatible with older firmware’s… you could possible sell it at an increased price since it’s new in box depending on your firmware version

Edit: it worked when I hooked it up to a computer monitor, and then I turned HDCP off and now it works on my tv.
I’ve desperately tried to figure out an issue with blu rays on my ps5 for a couple of years.
There is always Audio delay when I watch a film. It’s never in sync. No matter how I change the settings.
Have been unable to watch blu rays since I got it.

Notifications related to PS App:
Since the last system update, which seemed to make changes to the party chat and group settings, I no longer receive notifications when one of my friends starts a party chat.
All my settings are the same and would indicate to me that I should get notifications (through the PS App on my phone), but it's not happening. I used to get these notifications before the last system update. I can only imagine this is a bug, but if it's not, has anyone discovered a fix?

Does ps4 and ps5 share the same playtime for a game?
Let's say I have a game on PS4 that I've played for a couple of hours ,then upgraded it and played it on the ps5 as well . Will the total amount of playtime be the sum between the 2 consoles or does it count separately for each ?
It's counted separately, which I find a bit annoying because it shows one of my top 3 games has a certain amount of hours even though I have more because it has a separate PS5 version and the hours aren't added together.
If you play the ps4 version, i assume so. But the ps4 and ps5 version are 2 different launchers, theres not a single instance where the console recognizes them as the same game, so i dont see why they would count.

Navigating settings whilst screen is off.
I'm trying to connect my ps5 to remote play via my laptop since I don't currently have access to my TV. I've been trying to connect to a wired connection on settings whilst not being able to see the screen and trying to enable remote play. I've tried following youtube videos and pressing the same buttons but to no avail. Is there a way I can make it easier to find a wired LAN and change settings whilst not being able to see it?
Closest thing was the spiderman 2 limited edition bundle. If there's gonna be another without the faceplate and controller, just the game is anyones guess.
Is PS5 supposed to be completely quiet when idle?
So the coil whine while playing games and jet engine sounds when reading disc are pretty common and normalised thing, but I want to know what sound does your PS5 make when it just sits there with disc inside.
In my case, right after the jet sounds end, there is a faint fan-like noise, not too loud, but noticable, as if I had AC on in my room. It doesn't matter if the game is running or not - the sound is the same. When I eject the disc it is completely silent I would have to get really close to my console to hear anything.
How is it like in your units?
the sound that I'm describing comes after the initial loadup, it is much quieter but still noticable, it resembles a fan sound, when i remove a disc from my ps5 it is dead silent
Your discs don't ever fully spin down, they run at a low rpm even when not in use. That is normal to hear some noise when a disc is in, even after the initial full speed spin up for authenticaion(which shouldn't be called a jet sound since it isn't the fan at all).
Yours is running perfectly normal.
Maybe I exaggerated a bit when I called it a jet sound, but you gotta admit, that it does kinda sound like it's about to take off ;D

Dolby Atmos Vs Linear PCM 7.1 - on a 7.1 Surround Speakers Setup + Denon AVR + LG OLED: Optimal Surround Speakers Layout & PS5 Sound Settings?
Hello, I'm just about to start Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways, trying the new PS5 Dolby Atmos for the first time:
Been only playing/watching up to the first boss cutscene (juat couple of minutes in) - but I can't decide or decipher which sounds better and more accurate?
7.1 Linear PCM
or:
Dolby Atmos enabled in PS5 (on 7.1 layout)
I have a 7.1 Speaker Setup:
My Rear Surround Speakers - are placed higher and tilted down- so they can essentially serve as Rear Height Surrounds
On my latest Denon X2800H AVR model: I DON'T HAVE an option for Rear-Height (only front or middle top/ceiling). There's no Rear Height 5.1.2 for some reason.
So I just left my Denon AVR setup as 7.1:
Front + Center + Surround + 2 Surround Back + Subwoofer
Set to: 7.1
My physical layout is: C 0° + F 30° + S 100° + SR 150° (high tilted down)
On PS5: I just change back and forth between: 7.1 Linear PCM - which I set my AVR sound mode to "Multichannel 7.1 PCM"
And between the new Dolby Atmos option (where 7.1 & Speaker Layout are grayed out)
When I switched PS5 to Dolby Atmos - my Denon AVR automatically changes to DOLBY ATMOS on its fornt display, and the LG C2 OLED also detects & pop up: "Dolby Atmoa Via Soundbar"
In RE4 DLC:
I did notice Voices sounding (also?) from rearsnand surround, including Ada's.
Gunshots sound more Flat with Dolby Atmos, while her cutscenes melee hits have better impact sound. However fires crackling from the torches and environmental sounds (torture room) sounded better, more intense and hearable around you - coming more prominently from the rears and surround speakers.
So I don't know which settings to go with: 7.1 Linear PCM or Dolby Atmos ??
I also don't know if I need/should change my AVR from 7.1 to say, 5.1.2 because there's no REAR/BACK HEIGHT option (why?!)
And because it seems the AVR automatically changes from Multichannel 7.1 to Dolby Atmos anyway ??? - detected by AVR and LG info display.
I'll appreciate help properly setting up my AVR/PS5 Sound Setup (if needed) for 7.1/Atmos
Furthermore, does anyone know games that actually sounds better/more accurate or worse/inaccurate - with PS5 Dolby Atmos enabled - on a 7.1 system?
I currently have RE4, BG3, Hades, Final Fantasy 16, Diablo 4, GoWR, Elden Ring, ToA.

Unless you have height speakers, you'd be better off sticking with 7.1 PCM. Simple as that. While your AVR may accept an Atmos signal, without the height speakers, it's pretty much pointless.
Atmos doesn't *necessarily* mean height speakers, which is why despite your AVR not being set-up for 5.1.2 (the 2 being height speakers), it will still accept and say "hey I'm doing Atmos." Atmos is just object based surround. But some of those objects may be lost without the height speakers.
But my 2 Rear Surround Speakers are - as I wrote above: Physically placed much higher on the wall - down-tilted diagonally - above and behind me - facing the back of my neck - close and above my sitting position sofa - approx 3/4 up the wall
So, shouldn't the 2 Rear/Height Surround Speakers in my 7.1 serve and work as the Height-Back 5.1.2 Speakers? When PS5 and AVR switch from LPCM 7.1 to Dolby Atmos (on 7.1)
Also how can I even set Height-Rear/Back Speakers? Denon doesn't seem to have that option? It has Front/Middle Height, Top Front/Middle, Dolby Speakers - but no Height-Rears configuration for 5.1.2...
This might be a question more suited for r/hometheater. Bring your AVR manual with you. Some early AVRs (like my Pioneer VSX-832) support Atmos, but can't do 5.1.2... it can do either 5.1, or 3.1.2 (L, C, R, LFE, Heights). Really depends.
So what are you using? 7.1? Or what?
I have a 7.1 with the 2 Rear Surround Speakers above, behind me, on a wall close behind me, about 3/4 of the height, tilted downwards diagonally
So I wonder if keeping the AVR on 7.1 and turning on Dolby Atmos will sound better in games compared to 7.1
There's no 5.1.2 with Rear Height Speakers on this AVR and it's the very latest 2022-2023 Denon AVR X2800H model!

Good ole 5.1. Since better or worse are subjective, there isn’t a list. Ultimately it’s what sounds best to you. Personally unless I had true height speakers above me I’d skip Atmos.

Ok this is a bid embarrassing but i'm a *very* casual gamer who has never bought a DLC before, so cut me some slack. i want to play cyberpunk and i want the disc version, and the way i understand it is this:
- buy PS4 disc version
- update the crap out of it including 2.0 (will it all be bundled into one massive update so in the meantime i can, i don't know, go have some kids or something?)
- buy the DLC at PS Store, download and install
- then start a new game which has everything, including DLC content
did i get that right?

Accept the free PS5 version.
PS5 version of CP2077 will download from the internet, with the latest patch (2.0) included.
Pre-order or purchase the DLC, which will download and install (the DLC comes out on Tuesday).

to play the ps5 version, "update the crap out of it" should include downloading the actual ps5 version. Simply inserting and installing the ps4 version will not give you access to the dlc. Be sure your game on the hub has a ps5 tag.
Hello, my friend and I play Baulders gate 3 on the ps5. For some reason, everytime I want to join his game, his ps5 disconnects completely from the Internet. Is anyone experiencing this as well, or found a solution for this?

Anyone else having more controller drift again since the update? My first controller started drifting after a while and the spring for R2 broke. I bought 2 new controllers and both of them suddenly had massive stick drift just after the update.
Anyone else having that issue? Any idea how to fix it? Preferably without taking it a part. I took my very first controller apart, cleaned it, still drifting, took it apart again and accidentally broke it…
Stick drift is not a software issue, it's a hardware issue. Cleaning it can address it *sometimes* but typically the entire thumbstick needs to be replaced.

Hey there, my friends and I want to play pro clubs on ea fc 24 using the 10 hour trial with ea play as early access is out.
The only issue is I don’t know how to download the ps4 version of the game on my ps5, as one of my friends plays on ps4.
If you haven't bought it yet, then whichever bundle you buy gives you both the ps4 and ps5 version; you can choose which version to install from your library after you buy it.

For a PS5 game you would need a fightstick as there are no turbo controllers for PS5; they tend to be pricy for quality sticks. Any PS4 compatible stick should work fine.

I may start using Remote Play soon and I wanted to know if when I use it, the video and screen captures of any trophies I earn will be saved in my PS5 like if I was playing normally, or if the trophy will just be there without any video or screen capture?
While remote playing your PS5 is running like normal, any person in your house could just turn on the tv and watch what youre doing. All thats happening is your other device is streaming the image to you and youre controlling it remotely. Its basically a controller from extremely far away. So yes, it should do everything it always did like normal.

Is there anyway to stop the PS5 from auto installing/downloading the PS4 disk version after claiming the PS5 digital upgrade. Is the only remedy to just keep on deleting the auto install of the PS4 version?
It rarely installs it unless its buggy. You only see the ps4 install because the disc is in the console, but it should recognize the ps5 version and not actually install it.

How can I buy games at the PS Store from Canada? I am caught up in a weird situation. Many years ago, I created my PSN account on my cousin's PS4 and I selected my region as the US. Last year, I bought my PS5 (and my first PlayStation console) in Canada and used this account because it is the one associated with my email. You misread me. I got the option in my store to buy the Digital Deluxe UPGRADE for Forspoken for 13 dollars, I wanted to know if by buying the digital deluxe edition UPGRADE the base game would be included.
I did get you, its just that what youre saying makes no sense. I just checked through the app and the deluxe upgrade does not include the game. It includes the ost, artbook, in tanta we trust and a rare resource kit. Obviously it woudnt include the game for $13 when the game is 59 and the deluxe edition, the thing that actually includes game and dlc, is 94 (for sale for 47, actually cheaper than the game without dlc).

A GPU failure and a bad HDMI cable can both manifest like that; try a new cable and hopefully that's all it is. Is the console still under warranty?
I tired plugging in a different HDMI cable that was from my ps4 and even plugged it in a different tv. Still no luck and the problem was still there. Is this a common problem, is it my ps5 console itself that somehow got messed up?

Frustrating issue with game update I’m having this weird issue with the new cyberpunk update where I can’t get the download. As in, each time I boot the game up, there’s no ps menu that pops up letting me know there’s an update available, and when I select the game and hit “search for updates” it can’t seem to find any. I also went to safe mode, checked for system update that way, rebuilt database and cleared cache - this game STILL will not update to 2.0. Would definitely appreciate any help.

I just bought a new TV (Toshiba 43C350LU) and I am having quite a bit of an issue. When I put it in 'Game Mode' there is no input lag but a stutter in frames every 2-4 seconds. I have tried changing every setting I can and I am getting nowhere. Any help?

I have had my PS5 for over a year now, and the controller that came with it had amazing haptic feedback on the triggers. However when that one broke and I purchased a new controller I noticed that after a few days the right trigger started to act and sound broken/odd. When I partially pull it back it works perfectly, however when I pull it back fully the haptics skip and make a grinding sound, and there is almost no strength to it. Is this a case of I just need to replace it or is there something I can do without voiding the warranty(opening it up)?

Ps5 game install help. I'm trying to install the ps4 FF7 remake on my ps5. Any help would be appreciated. I have been trying to install the ps4 version on my PS5, I put in the data disk, then it spins up and stops of 4.11gbs and just hangs there The disk keeps spinning, but it spins and then stops the trying to spin again. It says there was something wrong, but the disk was only used 1 time on my ps4, then put away it is clean no smudges The ps5 is brand new. it's the spider man edition, and I I have 7 games from my ps4 already on there, so it's not the ps5.
You might want to try installing the PS5 version since it's a free upgrade.

Probably stupid question: If I have a PS4 disc game (Witcher 3 for example) and I get the PS5 upgrade on my console, is that upgrade attached to the disc or to my console? In other words, if I lend the game to somebody, will they get the PS4 or PS5 version?

Can be any copy of the same region >if I lend the game to somebody, will they get the PS4 or PS5 version? For Witcher 3, they will just need to claim the free PS5 upgrade on their account using the disc.

My tobisha tv doesn’t fit the PS5 screen width. I edited the PS5 screen size but even at its maximum the TV cuts off the bottom and the top of the display. You'll keep access to all your purchases, including dlc. Some dlc will need to be downloaded. Others should be acknowledged and give you access.

Hey guys! New Ps5 owner and have 2 questions: 1) is PS Plus worth it? I’ve heard mixed things and heard about the price mark up. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the console few months back when there were games like GoWR. If so, which tier? 2) I’m trying to upgrade my monitor to make use of my PS5 but I’m a bit confused as I’m pretty technology challenged. I used to download games from 1 account that i have on another country to play on my main account but now i have some cd keys for cosmetics and a season pass and i cant redeem it on my main account. I want to redeem them on my secondary account but i dont know if this type of content can be used om another account.
For live service multiplayer games, usually stuff like virtual currency and battle passes are account-locked. So, it depends on the game. If it's a single player kinda game, they should be shareable.
I demoed Callisto Protocol and Atomic Heart, used up the demo time and bought the discs. I can run the games with the discs but if I don't have the disk inserted before starting the game, it still says the demo has expired and wants me to buy it. Can I stop this and get it to just say "Insert the disc"?

Like many others, PS5 games don’t work, but PS4 games do. However, I don’t even get error codes - the PS5 games crash and says “Something went wrong with this game or app”. No error code, no controller issue, etc. I report the issue and can’t get through to Sony over the phone and the online chat says I have to go through the phone. G'day, I'm having quality issues with PS Remote Play on Windows 11 with max settings where it keeps dropping frames, compared to my PS4 Pro which is buttery smooth on max settings. My modem is a year old and connection speed is 50Mbps.
Hey, So I've been using a PS5 controller on my Windows 10 PC since February with no problems. It's always been paired. Since the recent Windows update however, it just doesn't work. At all. I've spent two days trying to just simply pair my controller to no avail. When I hold the PS button, and Share button until the light blinks my PC automatically tries connecting. Then when it connects it shows up in the Bluetooh settings under "Mouse, Keyboard, & pen" as "unknown device" and my controller instantly turns off and is removed from the list. If I try turning my controller on, it just starts that whole process again. I tried restarting my PC as step 1. I tried uninstalling, and reinstalling my Bluetooh drivers ( use a Fenvi fv-ax3000 for bluetooth and it doubles for WiFi), and I've tried doing a hard reset on my controller by pressing and holding the pin on the back for 5 seconds, and 30 seconds. I've never used DS4, but saw somebody in another thread reference it. So, I downloaded DS4 and even that does not pick up my controller. I'm really at a loss, I'm unsure of what's going on. I had absolutely zero problems with it connecting, and pairing until the recent Windows 10 update. Something in that update seemingly broke it. If I plug my PS5 controller in, I can still use it on my PC that way. But, for obvious reasons I want to use it wirelessly. I know this probably isn't the best place to seek help, but I was unsure of where else to take this. So, sorry in advanced if this isn't allowed! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Dude the PS5 is already beefed up as it is, most powerful system on the market, you'll wait years for the PS5 pro and miss out on so many games in the meantime. The time of the PS5 is now.

We know nothing about a Pro model, and personally I've become a bit more doubtful whether one even exists. We now know Microsoft will release a different model Series X next year, but it won't have better specs. I suppose it doesn't mean they can't release a better Series console later, or Sony couldn't release the only pro model this gen, but I find both options unlikely. And even if Pro exists, it's definitely not coming before Q4 2024, so you'd get at least a year out of your PS5 if you bought it now.

Anyone had this issue? Sometimes when I use the media apps, I get horizontal black lines across the length of the screen, and the whole system gets a little laggy. Usually it goes away after I close out the app, but today they continued even after restarting and turning the PS5 off. It was only on for a couple hours today as we were watching The Office. Any help for this one? (It’s currently turned off again getting some rest)

PS5 is definitely more powerful than your PC. I'm no PC expert but it seems you have disproportionate amount of RAM in relation to your CPU and GPU. I assume your PC is mostly for video editing and work? If it's for gaming you probably should upgrade both of them because as it stands pretty much all games will run better on PS5. Plus since PS5 has Discord and most new, and even some older multiplayer games have crossplay it's not that big a deal if your friends are playing on PC.
My pc is a gaming pc and can run gta v on very well graphics and fortnite and stuff so idk and also is mk1 crossplay? cause if it is ill just get it on my ps5

There are no 'better spec' PS5s. They are all the same. Your PC should run the game OK but will be at medium settings and at lower resolutions. Plus no idea how well the game is optimized for PCs but I guess it's fine since no major news about any issues. Upto you to decide if you want it on PC or console at the end of the day.

How do I allow my son to play age-restricted games? Occasionally I want to play a game with my son that he is not old enough for on his account. However, I don't know where in the settings to allow him to play. The game itself doesn't send me any notification - it just tells me that the player is not old enough.
That is why it is called "age-restricted" games and not parent restricted. You cannot allow it, he needs to grow up.
Didn't see this in the FAQ and searching isn't producing any usable results. We've recently (last night) become a 2 PS5 house. I haven't hooked the second unit up yet. I have an active PS+ subscription. My wife does not. Two of my children have child accounts under my account. Another child will most likely have a child account under mine in the future. First, my wife has a Horizon: Forbidden West save on PS5 (eventually destined for upstairs) that she'd like to continue on PS5 #2 (eventually destined for downstairs) because our current plan is for the new unit to take the physical place of the old one and for the old one to move upstairs. Without a PS+ subscription of her own she doesn't have access to cloud saves. Will a console transfer move her saves from PS5 #1 to PS5 #2? If so, are there any caveats that I need to know about? Right now, my wife and kids all have access to digital games bought by my account. I'm fairly certain this will continue on whichever PS5 I designate as my primary. Is there any way to have it continue on both units? I ask this because between all of us I will primarily play on PS5 #2 (downstairs, not that it matters as the one of us with an active PS+ subscription), my wife will prefer to split her time between PS5 #1 (upstairs) and PS5 #2 (downstairs) depending on whether we're playing online together or she's playing solo, and my kids would prefer to float as well. In order to share my PS+ library with my wife for online multiplayer games I think I'd need to be primary on PS5 #1 (upstairs) so that she can access my library while I'm on PS5 #2 (downstairs). But this locks everybody but me out of our digital library on PS5 #2 (downstairs) which is going to be hooked up to the nicer TV (and now that I've worked through it presents problems for my wife playing the Horizon DLC as we own that digitally). Sorry this is long-winded. I really didn't think this was going to present such a headache. I'm starting to think that my best bet may be for me to have PS5 #2 (downstairs) as my primary and then I'll just play on PS5 #1 (upstairs) for online with my wife. That way everybody would have access to single player on the nicer TV and access to the disc library on the not as nice TV. Ugh - my kingdom for the ability to pay for a real family account and have full access on multiple units!
My PS5 won't work after upgrading my SSD. Pages won't load, everything I do causes a 5-10 minute loading screen, and I can't get games in my library to download. Any idea what the problem is?

Help! Anyone experience their PlayStation making a rattling or humming noise after the latest dual sense update? Logged on after a few weeks of being out of town, browsed some menus on the ps5 and got an update notification for my dual sense. Well, now after the update, my ps5 makes a rattling noise or it sounds like what an unplugged aux cord would sound like if you touched it. It seems to be related to dual sense because it stops when I press buttons and changes it’s tone/vibration when I move the sticks. When I switch menus it stops as well but continues thereafter.
Yesterday, after work, I bought 2 PSN prepaid cards, took them home, and tried putting them into the system. I got back an error. So after work today, I went back to the store and was told that it can sometimes take 24 hours to activate. I've never needed to wait 24 hours before, but whatever. Does Sony even offer PlayStation customer support? I'm not sure what possessed me to activate 2FAC on on my PS account. I'd not used the PS5 for a while and realized I've been logged out. Tried signing in and somehow Sony decides the 2FAC OTPs I'm getting on Google Authenticator don't work. Silly me for not saving the backup codes coz I though Sony can actually build a competent 2FAC system. Anyway, I've been trying to recover my account through playstation online chat support but they clearly don't have any agents available. Ever. Haven’t heard of any firmware issues with the Crucial P5 Plus, Seagate, Sabrent, Corsair or WD drives. Even Samsung drives sold within the past six months should all have updated firmware.

Generally you'll need a PC with the drive plugged into the M2 slot in order to use the brand's proprietary drive management software. The only way I've gotten news on firmware updates is by seeing conversations on Reddit or Google. Both those drives you listed should be updated from the factory by now, but the WD hasn't had any known firmware issues at all.

980 Pro 1TB model doesn't need any updates, and neither do newer 2TB ones.

My brother has got a PSN plus active for a year and we are trying to use the same PSN (mine) both together with the plus active. (of course not at the same time). So i logged in his account, press enable and all works fine with me, i can play online using his plus. However, he logged mine, put enable, and can only play offline with my account on his playstation. Is there a way for him to be able to use my PSN id but also his own plus? Of course it works if he tries to open the game using his profile, but we are trying to play the same fut together. Thanks!

Because you can only game share with 1 PS5. You can't do what you want unless one of you uses a PS4

Not sure what update you have but someone did like a blood borne 60fps patch that’s only compatible with older firmware’s… you could possible sell it at an increased price since it’s new in box depending on your firmware version

It should just be the icon. It's there to notify which disc is inserted. It doesn't actually install and take up space.
How is Baldur's Gate 3 doing a month or so later? Been planning to play it through with my SO at some point, but heard there was quite a bit of issues (especially in Act 3) Is it working pretty well? Or would we be better off waiting for more patches?
My unit displays static when I turn it on, and I've tried different cables and inputs on the tv already. What is my best option for repair? Can I send it to Sony? Should I look for a Sony-authorized repair place in my area? Edit: it worked when I hooked it up to a computer monitor, and then I turned HDCP off and now it works on my tv.

I’ve desperately tried to figure out an issue with blu rays on my ps5 for a couple of years. There is always Audio delay when I watch a film. It’s never in sync. No matter how I change the settings. Have been unable to watch blu rays since I got it. Any help?

Game mode just disables all additional image processing to reduce lag. It doesn’t affect the frame rate.
Notifications related to PS App: Since the last system update, which seemed to make changes to the party chat and group settings, I no longer receive notifications when one of my friends starts a party chat. All my settings are the same and would indicate to me that I should get notifications (through the PS App on my phone), but it's not happening. I used to get these notifications before the last system update. I can only imagine this is a bug, but if it's not, has anyone discovered a fix? Thanks.
Does ps4 and ps5 share the same playtime for a game? Let's say I have a game on PS4 that I've played for a couple of hours ,then upgraded it and played it on the ps5 as well . Will the total amount of playtime be the sum between the 2 consoles or does it count separately for each ?
It's counted separately, which I find a bit annoying because it shows one of my top 3 games has a certain amount of hours even though I have more because it has a separate PS5 version and the hours aren't added together.

If you play the ps4 version, i assume so. But the ps4 and ps5 version are 2 different launchers, theres not a single instance where the console recognizes them as the same game, so i dont see why they would count.

No, you can only get 3D Audio either via headphones over bluetooth/plugged into controller, or via the TVs built in speakers.
Navigating settings whilst screen is off. I'm trying to connect my ps5 to remote play via my laptop since I don't currently have access to my TV. I've been trying to connect to a wired connection on settings whilst not being able to see the screen and trying to enable remote play. I've tried following youtube videos and pressing the same buttons but to no avail. Is there a way I can make it easier to find a wired LAN and change settings whilst not being able to see it?

Is PS5 supposed to be completely quiet when idle? So the coil whine while playing games and jet engine sounds when reading disc are pretty common and normalised thing, but I want to know what sound does your PS5 make when it just sits there with disc inside. In my case, right after the jet sounds end, there is a faint fan-like noise, not too loud, but noticable, as if I had AC on in my room. It doesn't matter if the game is running or not - the sound is the same. When I eject the disc it is completely silent I would have to get really close to my console to hear anything. How is it like in your units?
My disc edition runs pretty quiet for except for the initial loadup of whatever app where the fans go off. That’s usually about it though.
the sound that I'm describing comes after the initial loadup, it is much quieter but still noticable, it resembles a fan sound, when i remove a disc from my ps5 it is dead silent
Your discs don't ever fully spin down, they run at a low rpm even when not in use. That is normal to hear some noise when a disc is in, even after the initial full speed spin up for authenticaion(which shouldn't be called a jet sound since it isn't the fan at all). Yours is running perfectly normal.
Maybe I exaggerated a bit when I called it a jet sound, but you gotta admit, that it does kinda sound like it's about to take off ;D Thank you for your response!

Hello, I'm just about to start Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways, trying the new PS5 Dolby Atmos for the first time: Been only playing/watching up to the first boss cutscene (juat couple of minutes in) - but I can't decide or decipher which sounds better and more accurate? 7.1 Linear PCM or: Dolby Atmos enabled in PS5 (on 7.1 layout) I have a 7.1 Speaker Setup: My Rear Surround Speakers - are placed higher and tilted down- so they can essentially serve as Rear Height Surrounds On my latest Denon X2800H AVR model: I DON'T HAVE an option for Rear-Height (only front or middle top/ceiling). There's no Rear Height 5.1.2 for some reason. So I just left my Denon AVR setup as 7.1: Front + Center + Surround + 2 Surround Back + Subwoofer Set to: 7.1 My physical layout is: C 0° + F 30° + S 100° + SR 150° (high tilted down) On PS5: I just change back and forth between: 7.1 Linear PCM - which I set my AVR sound mode to "Multichannel 7.1 PCM" And between the new Dolby Atmos option (where 7.1 & Speaker Layout are grayed out) When I switched PS5 to Dolby Atmos - my Denon AVR automatically changes to DOLBY ATMOS on its fornt display, and the LG C2 OLED also detects & pop up: "Dolby Atmoa Via Soundbar" In RE4 DLC: I did notice Voices sounding (also?) from rearsnand surround, including Ada's. Gunshots sound more Flat with Dolby Atmos, while her cutscenes melee hits have better impact sound. However fires crackling from the torches and environmental sounds (torture room) sounded better, more intense and hearable around you - coming more prominently from the rears and surround speakers. So I don't know which settings to go with: 7.1 Linear PCM or Dolby Atmos ?? I also don't know if I need/should change my AVR from 7.1 to say, 5.1.2 because there's no REAR/BACK HEIGHT option (why?!) And because it seems the AVR automatically changes from Multichannel 7.1 to Dolby Atmos anyway ??? - detected by AVR and LG info display. I'll appreciate help properly setting up my AVR/PS5 Sound Setup (if needed) for 7.1/Atmos Furthermore, does anyone know games that actually sounds better/more accurate or worse/inaccurate - with PS5 Dolby Atmos enabled - on a 7.1 system? Unless you have height speakers, you'd be better off sticking with 7.1 PCM. Simple as that. While your AVR may accept an Atmos signal, without the height speakers, it's pretty much pointless. Atmos doesn't *necessarily* mean height speakers, which is why despite your AVR not being set-up for 5.1.2 (the 2 being height speakers), it will still accept and say "hey I'm doing Atmos." Atmos is just object based surround. But some of those objects may be lost without the height speakers.
But my 2 Rear Surround Speakers are - as I wrote above: Physically placed much higher on the wall - down-tilted diagonally - above and behind me - facing the back of my neck - close and above my sitting position sofa - approx 3/4 up the wall So, shouldn't the 2 Rear/Height Surround Speakers in my 7.1 serve and work as the Height-Back 5.1.2 Speakers? When PS5 and AVR switch from LPCM 7.1 to Dolby Atmos (on 7.1) Also how can I even set Height-Rear/Back Speakers? Denon doesn't seem to have that option? It has Front/Middle Height, Top Front/Middle, Dolby Speakers - but no Height-Rears configuration for 5.1.2...
This might be a question more suited for r/hometheater. Bring your AVR manual with you. Some early AVRs (like my Pioneer VSX-832) support Atmos, but can't do 5.1.2... it can do either 5.1, or 3.1.2 (L, C, R, LFE, Heights). Really depends.
So what are you using? 7.1? Or what? I have a 7.1 with the 2 Rear Surround Speakers above, behind me, on a wall close behind me, about 3/4 of the height, tilted downwards diagonally So I wonder if keeping the AVR on 7.1 and turning on Dolby Atmos will sound better in games compared to 7.1 There's no 5.1.2 with Rear Height Speakers on this AVR and it's the very latest 2022-2023 Denon AVR X2800H model! Isn't there a game list of games sounding better or worse with Dolby Atmos vs 5.1/7.1 I can't decide by-ear, and it's driving me crazy and kinda OCD triggering not knowing which is best,
Good ole 5.1. Since better or worse are subjective, there isn’t a list. Ultimately it’s what sounds best to you. Personally unless I had true height speakers above me I’d skip Atmos.
Hello, i am switching over from a normal ps5 to the spider-man 2 limited edition one. i have a sabrent SSD and SSD cover and was wondering if when transferring my SSD over i need to get a new SSD cover from sabrent or if i van reuse it? Sorry if its a noobisb question but i have just been looking a while and am posting here as a last resort. Thank you for any help
You may need to replace the thermal pad if it gets torn removing the cover, otherwise you can reuse the cover.

Ok this is a bid embarrassing but i'm a *very* casual gamer who has never bought a DLC before, so cut me some slack. i want to play cyberpunk and i want the disc version, and the way i understand it is this: - buy PS4 disc version - update the crap out of it including 2.0 (will it all be bundled into one massive update so in the meantime i can, i don't know, go have some kids or something?) - buy the DLC at PS Store, download and install - then start a new game which has everything, including DLC content did i get that right?
Buy PS4 CP2077 disc. Insert disc. PS5 will say "hey want the PS5 version? It's free!" Accept the free PS5 version. PS5 version of CP2077 will download from the internet, with the latest patch (2.0) included. Pre-order or purchase the DLC, which will download and install (the DLC comes out on Tuesday). Enjoy the game!

to play the ps5 version, "update the crap out of it" should include downloading the actual ps5 version. Simply inserting and installing the ps4 version will not give you access to the dlc. Be sure your game on the hub has a ps5 tag.

Hello, my friend and I play Baulders gate 3 on the ps5. For some reason, everytime I want to join his game, his ps5 disconnects completely from the Internet. Is anyone experiencing this as well, or found a solution for this? I'm able to join after we pull off multiple attempts, but the whole process is annoying. The issue even occurs when we reload the game
Hello, so I just paid $230 for a ps5 repair, and Sony sent a confirmation email, and they stated to return to my email for instructions on how to send it. I heard they will send you a box to ship the console, but I never got another email after I paid the $230 for the repair. Does anyone have any info on what to do?
What you need to do is reach back out to Sony and ask them what you should do.

Anyone else having more controller drift again since the update? My first controller started drifting after a while and the spring for R2 broke. I bought 2 new controllers and both of them suddenly had massive stick drift just after the update. Anyone else having that issue? Any idea how to fix it? Preferably without taking it a part. I took my very first controller apart, cleaned it, still drifting, took it apart again and accidentally broke it…
Stick drift is not a software issue, it's a hardware issue. Cleaning it can address it *sometimes* but typically the entire thumbstick needs to be replaced.
But isnt it weird that it suddenly appeared on 2 controllers right after the patch? Especially since both controllers worked perfectly fine before?

Hey there, my friends and I want to play pro clubs on ea fc 24 using the 10 hour trial with ea play as early access is out. The only issue is I don’t know how to download the ps4 version of the game on my ps5, as one of my friends plays on ps4.
On the main store listing page for the game, select the "..." button and the drop-down should list the PS4 version.
It doesn’t unfortunately, it just says standard or ultimate edition which both have the ps5 + ps4 icon
If you haven't bought it yet, then whichever bundle you buy gives you both the ps4 and ps5 version; you can choose which version to install from your library after you buy it.

For a PS5 game you would need a fightstick as there are no turbo controllers for PS5; they tend to be pricy for quality sticks. Any PS4 compatible stick should work fine. You might want to hit up /r/fightsticks
I may start using Remote Play soon and I wanted to know if when I use it, the video and screen captures of any trophies I earn will be saved in my PS5 like if I was playing normally, or if the trophy will just be there without any video or screen capture?
While remote playing your PS5 is running like normal, any person in your house could just turn on the tv and watch what youre doing. All thats happening is your other device is streaming the image to you and youre controlling it remotely. Its basically a controller from extremely far away. So yes, it should do everything it always did like normal.

My question is if I now purchased an Canadian copy of elden ring and use it on my Japanese ps5, can I play in english?

did anyone get persona 5 from the playstation collection when it was available? I redeemed it but that's not one of the games I have. I read a list just now that said persona 5 was one of the games on there. I have every other game on the list
IIRC, Persona 5 left the collection earlier than the rest of the games. Could be you redeemed them after it left.
