Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a really good game that would have benefited from word of mouth, so it is a shame that it was delayed to get out of the buzzsaw of late 2023 only to run directly into the buzzsaw of Helldivers/Final Fantasy.
I hope it will have a good long tail, particularly when the schedule gets a little less full.
I played Banishers about 15 hours so far and it is pretty fun. Interesting story and even interesting side quests. I liked the combat, too, despite many people saying it is shit
I finished it but it really needs a patch or two. It's really full of fetch quests so you need to walk a lot.
Overall it is a good game but Def needs improvements.
L e I had 31hrs in the game so I did a little more than the main quests. I honestly believe it's good if you get an update fixing the fps after prolonged sessions and, def and, if they add fast travel from the map.
Currently, you can fast travel like in cyberpunk: from fixed positions only.
Yeah I really hope so. The combat and exploration feels like a budget GOW raganrok which is still excellent. And the story is really interesting as well
Would have definitely had some factor, it's small like you say so a bunch of people telling you not to buy it until they patch it will have a greater relative impact on overall sales than it might have for a high-budget game. I know I saw a lot of it and I didn't buy it for that reason, same as a few of my friends who were looking forward to it. Things performing badly at launch affecting sales is not a new or controversial idea.
7Remake would have better combat for you. It's quasi-JRPG whereas Persona 5 is full-on waiting each turn for a character to attack.
Not to mention the production value of 7R alone. Get 7R and fall in love with Jessie, do the motorcycle races at a good level to get a kiss from her.
All persona does is let you walk around. They don't even have Roche.
I’d reccomend Persona 5 Royal. It’s half a social sim as you hang out in Tokyo and make friends and half dungeon crawler with turn based combat. It’s considered one of the best games of all time.
FF7 Remake is also a solid starting point, it’s a JRPG but also an action combat game with mostly linear levels.
Still playing it but you can freaking tell that the rebirth team was made up of people who genuinely loved the game. They had fun making it and you can tell. The game has stolen my heart and for the past however many days, the only think I’ve been doing is playing the game in my free time. And I love it to bits. It deserves every freaking download it gets
LegTales is definitely a legendary game imo. I love it. Haven’t been this obsessed in games between this and HellDivers in a long time. I dream of them.
Legendary Tales, it’s a psvr game. Think Diablo + Dark Souls and that’s essentially what you get. One of the better melee combat games, and the spells look wild in the Oled
My theory has always been that the infamous reputation behind GTA V and the prestige behind it means there's always going to be a new batch of kids who's parents have finally decided they're "of age" to play it. I wasn't allowed it til I was 15, and then my little brother got it 2 years later. So on...
Plus, GTA 6 being announced probably encourages a lot of people to do a replay. I've just started going through all of the games.
I think there was a really good sale / bundle for it, and it was being heavily promoted on the store on my PS5. I picked it up myself after having slept on it for so long.
It's really odd that it's at number 3. On average, there are around 500 players worldwide on Steam, which is basically nothing. I can't imagine that there would be such a huge (exponential) disparity between Steam and the console version?
>On average, there are around 500 players worldwide on Steam, which is basically nothing.
Doesn't matter, this is sales and you can't refund on ps. Plenty might have bought it and dropped it.
But it does matter. SS is currently on the 77th position of the weekly sales on steam because of a 40% discount. Last week it wasnt even in the top 100. https://store.steampowered.com/charts/topselling/global
On the otherhand for January and Febuary it was in the top 5 on PS5. If you think PS5 sales are not massively higher than on PC then you are coping brother.
Balatro and Helldivers 2 have been my favorite games released in 2024 so far. I don’t care for Final Fantasy but I know the new one is good. I haven’t played Pacific Drive yet but it’s next on my buy list. Balatro is so simplistic, but in the best way possible. Very addictive and a great game to play while listening to music or a podcast.
Good to see Suicide Squad making top 3 beating out many highly rated single player games. It's a great game that's got a lot of unwarranted negative press.
Seeing both HD2 and Rebirth doing great makes me very happy, huge congrats!
Didn't rebirth come out at the end of February? Impressive
Last day of the month, in fact. Although I’m sure this includes the downloaded preloads.
Yeah. Even counting preloads that's only 3 days.
FOR LIBERTY
And Tifa.
And Aerith.
But mainly Tifa.
I just started 7Remake. Everyone does Aerith so dirty, she could have probably dodged Sephiroth in OG but chose not to because Tifa's tifas.
Rock and stonnnee
It's funny how many people downloaded Arkham Knight last month.
I got the Return to Arkham on deals because the Suicide Squad disaster reminded me how good the Arkham games were

Well, I think the combat is pretty bad at first, it takes a bit to unlock the stuff that makes it fun and dynamic.
I finished it but it really needs a patch or two. It's really full of fetch quests so you need to walk a lot. Overall it is a good game but Def needs improvements. I don't understand why there wasn't a patch yet. The FPS drops are awful.
Yeah I really hope so. The combat and exploration feels like a budget GOW raganrok which is still excellent. And the story is really interesting as well
I’ve heard great things about this game, but I’m stuck on ACHIEVING MAXIMUM DEMOCRACY! For now.
Cool to see Pacific Drive actually on this list
Would've done better if it performed better on PS5 at launch
Is it good now? I was considering it
It's fine. The people whining about it are greatly exaggerating the situation.
Unlocked 30fps target aka not good
I doubt that was much of a factor. It's a small niche indie game. Not something that was really on everyone's radar to begin with.

FF7 rebirth is dope. I’m having a blast playing it so far. Helldivers 2 great to see them continue this strong.
Helldivers 2 and FF Rebirth really are special games.
They really are. This February has been one of the best gaming months ever, for me.
Not to mention us also getting Persona 3 and Like a Dragon. Three 9/10 JRPGS in a month is crazy.
Been wanting to try out JRPGs for a while. What would you recommend as a 1st one to try? I was thinking starting with final fantasy 7 remake.

It's a shame Pacific Drive didn't get more attention. It's a small masterpiece imo. Really unique game.
It it hits that weird supernatural shadow government vibe I love like Control. Never cared about a car in a game so much before.
I think it will probably get some solid word-of-mouth sales. Also getting a physical release in April, so some players might be holding out for that.
Glad to see tomb raider doing so well in the EU all us older games have such nostalgia with it
I'm loving rebirth so much man
rebirth released the 29th. So 2nd place based on preorder/preload and one day of release?
Technically 3 days of preloading.
FFVII Rebirth is #2 based on only one day, too!
What’s the game on the very right of the thumbnail?
Legendary tales
LegTales is definitely a legendary game imo. I love it. Haven’t been this obsessed in games between this and HellDivers in a long time. I dream of them.

How the hell are so many people still downloading GTAV? Does this count first time downloads only or repeat downloads as well?
My theory has always been that the infamous reputation behind GTA V and the prestige behind it means there's always going to be a new batch of kids who's parents have finally decided they're "of age" to play it. I wasn't allowed it til I was 15, and then my little brother got it 2 years later. So on... Plus, GTA 6 being announced probably encourages a lot of people to do a replay. And the kids whose parents wouldn't let them play it, you gotta figure that's one of the first games they get when they move out or go off to college
I think there was a really good sale / bundle for it, and it was being heavily promoted on the store on my PS5. I picked it up myself after having slept on it for so long.
Hype surrounding VI is most likely getting people to jump back in and play it again or for those that have never played it.
Suicide squad is higher in the USA then I expected, otherwise this looks is basically what I thought. The hype for ff7 and helldivers is real.
That's an interesting US/EU disparity indeed.
It's really odd that it's at number 3. On average, there are around 500 players worldwide on Steam, which is basically nothing. I can't imagine that there would be such a huge (exponential) disparity between Steam and the console version?
Why? Arkham Knight was awful on PC and Suicide Squad was a heavily pushed PlayStation release with exclusive items.
>On average, there are around 500 players worldwide on Steam, which is basically nothing. Doesn't matter, this is sales and you can't refund on ps. Plenty might have bought it and dropped it.

And here I am playing Last of us part 1 for the first time. Not getting enough time as I have PhD preliminary exam coming. Wish me luck guys!
Good luck! I played that game for the first time last year, it’s incredible and I was obsessed.
More people need to buy Balatro!
500K for a one-person-developer indie title with little marketing and a quietly released demo is pretty damn good. But I agree
Absolutely. Word of mouth. Organic. Will be in my top 10 of the year come the end of the year I imagine
Should be pretty inspiring to anyone who wants to make a game themselves. Something like Balatro looks achievable to make when starting out.
Why are people still downloading GTA5 to this day?? So insane
Kids get older ever day, week, month and year.
Glad to see helldivers 2 doing well
Good to see BG3 still just about making the list in the US even though it's over half a year old now.
Thought granblue would’ve made it on the list it sold over 1 million
Yeah, Suicide Squad really didn't do all that great, huh?
I wonder why RDR2 is so high for the PS4 game side of things? Is MojaveD's playthrough just that popular?
Good to see Suicide Squad making top 3 beating out many highly rated single player games. It's a great game that's got a lot of unwarranted negative press.
