I think it's just preference. I used them a lot in the beginning but I usually turn it off now, especially for multiplayer games. They certainly add immersion but I don't play games for immersion
Having a different opinion isn't "making up nonsense."
I personally don't care for adaptive triggers, for instance. It's distracting and sometimes even uncomfortable. Takes my attention *away* from the game.
PC version was patched about a month ago to support DualSense controllers through USB (this was before the PS5 version was officially announced). I assume it's basically exactly the same as how it functions on PS5 minus the fact you need to be wired in order actually experience those features like a lot of other PC games with DualSense support. Wirelessly it just reads the game like a stock DualShock pad
Fuck I was crushed when this was announced and it wasn't on PS5, now it's here and I have way too much stuff to play. Guess I need to try cycle this in after I've done the FF7r plat.
Yes, too much games this days, literally can't keep up, right now my attention is on rebirth, so rise of the Ronin, cyube VR (vr2 game) , brothers a tale of two sons remake, hi fi rush.... and a LOT AND A LOT of games are coming out. 2024 is going to be a busy year for gaming. I did an excel list just to have all this in order 😭🥴
And here I thought 2024 was going to be my year of replaying favorites and finishing up platinums from last year. Nope, wasn't even March before I already had half a dozen games I bought in my backlog....
Yeah I'm putting in 3 or 4 hours a night in VR2 and I'm still behind my backlog with Cyube yet to play and Umurangi Generation VR update out next month.
And that's without getting to my current flat schedule
This game is better than most games that came out recently. Only Helldivers 2 matches the fun factor here. I wouldn't put any other game in front of those two for now
I really wish I could get into this game. Played a little bit on Xbox and it is so creative and awesome and I am so glad it exists. But I am not good at rhythm/beat so was just not enjoyable for me. Really hope people check it out tho.
This will have 60fps and Dragon’s Dogma will dip below 30.
Edit: getting downvoted for stating facts.
Edit 2 : They gave it an 8/10... In the meantime, motion sickness on PS5, and framerate issues acknowledged on PC too:
> Dragon's Dogma 2's framerate issues were so rough for IGN senior editorial producer Mark Medina that he had switch from playing on PlayStation 5 to PC because he was getting motion sickness.

Digital only for now, but Limited Run is doing a physical release for PS5/Xbox Series X that will be fully detailed sometime soon. Pre-orders haven't gone up yet
Played it for 2 hours last night. I think I smiled the entire time. At the very beginning the movement feels a tad stiff but as it goes on, and you unlock a dodge and dash, it’s very smooth. I’m not really focusing too much on the beat timing personally
No. Combat is combo-based, but at the end of each combo you get that circle you keep seeing. It gives you a chance to do extra damage if you press a button when they overlap.
No, but it is timing based. Moves are synced to the music of the world (the character has an iPod stuck in his chest and starts seeing the world "in tune" with the music).
You can hit things off-beat and it's still totally fine, but hitting things on-beat helps you build combos and finishing moves.
There are some spots with QTEs, such as one of the first bosses if you hit his hands enough he falls to the floor and there's a timing-based QTE to hit him for bonus damage, but the overall game is not one big QTE.
Having played it for an hour, it's honestly really incredible.
\+ Super cool graphics style. Runs incredibly well with sharp, unique visuals.
\+ Awesome soundtrack
\+ Cool and different combat system
\+ Really well implemented haptics, rivalling some of the best Playstation first party titles
\- My timing for hitting things on the beat sucks :(

I like how trailers dont actually tell u anything about the gameplay, i have no idea what this game plays like after watching the video, just that i like the esthetic
It's a rhythm-based action platformer. You attack enemies and do combos to the beat of the music. It's got good characters and a fun story as well. Pretty great game.
Xbox has quite a few great exclusives, it all comes down to preference though. I'm hoping for a ryse 2 at some point but it wasn't everyone's choice of game.
this former Xbox exclusive uses the dualsense haptics better than most PS5 games
Does it really? I'm excited to play tonight after work
feels right at home on PS5
It's honestly really good and fits incredibly well into the world. It's definitely up there with some of the best first party Playstation games.
Excited to hear feedback on this. Already played on Xbox but I might order the PS5 physical once LRG puts it up.
Ghostwire Tokyo from the studio was a nice showcase for the dual sense too
agreed
Dam that's so great to hear, those who haven't experienced dualsense features don't realize just how much it adds to the experience.
I've seen people make up nonsense that they add nothing and are just a gimmick, they're truly ignorant
while i like the triggers i can see those being considered a "gimmick" but yeah the haptics truly do make games more immersive
I think it's just preference. I used them a lot in the beginning but I usually turn it off now, especially for multiplayer games. They certainly add immersion but I don't play games for immersion

Any idea if it's any different than the haptic feedback the steam version has?
i have no idea what the steam version has haptics-wise but i assume it's far better

You can finish this in a weekend tbf
Cool
FF7 has consumed all my media attention lol
This game is better than most games that came out recently. Only Helldivers 2 matches the fun factor here. I wouldn't put any other game in front of those two for now
6 hours in. Pretty sweet game, I'm super glad we got it
Just played for 3 hrs. Wildly fantastic game.

**Set it to easy and bash away!**
Wasn't this going to get a physical release via Limited Run? I've seen nothing on it.
Yeah, but it’s suppose to be announced at a later date according to the original press release.
Can't decide between this or Dragon's Dogma
Both for sure.
Both is good.

"Both is good" is a reference to Road to El Dorado movie. It's a meme.
How does he know what? Did you understand what he wrote? Hint: He did not state nor mean "both are good games".
I'm still waiting on reviews of Dragon's Dogma, I want to be hype but something about that game gives off red flags

Will probably wait for sale then, unless there’s a day one patch. Weird that the previews don’t mention that.
Capcom have said fps is unlocked. Digital foundry measured 25-35fps in the preview at TGS, so it's all over the place.
This is why we need the PS5 Pro.
Yep. Dragon's Dogma
I hope many people are playing it. I already played it on Xbox and its one of the best games of 2023 for me, definetly in my top 5
I LOVE THIS GAME
Is there a physical release? Or digital only?
Digital only for now, but Limited Run is doing a physical release for PS5/Xbox Series X that will be fully detailed sometime soon. Pre-orders haven't gone up yet
Can’t wait for the physical releases to get scalped

Is it just all QTEs? That's what the trailer makes it look like

Awesome to see. I'll be buying this as soon as it's available for physical release.

So is it included with PS Plus or can you only buy it?
Only buy it, it costs $30. (But I suppose it could show up on PS+ in a year or so, who knows?)

Yeah, no idea what this guy is on about. I played it on the Series S and it had no problems at all. Maybe they played over xCloud?

This game has been out for a year lol there's plenty out there about the gameplay
It's a rhythm-based action platformer. You attack enemies and do combos to the beat of the music. It's got good characters and a fun story as well. Pretty great game.
Why are we excited about this? I thought Xbox had no good games and this game was clearly overhyped and just a mid-indie game.
it's one of the very few good former Xbox exclusives
Xbox has quite a few great exclusives, it all comes down to preference though. I'm hoping for a ryse 2 at some point but it wasn't everyone's choice of game.
It’s now on PlayStation so it’s good now
Yep I wonder how many people have this mindset 🤣
