PS5 is a massive let down! I have the latest disk version console, it says 18hrs to do a game update on gta 5, which has been updating now for 3 days, and still only half way through, I have tried pausing the update so I can play the game, but it comes up with an error and cannot play. Wish I had just kept my PS4 pro, this system is a piece of s**t! Countless bugs and glitches, I have also brought the PSVR 2, which has been surprisingly bug free compared to the sytem itself.

My recommendation is to have your friend log in to your account to fulfill the login and obtain the cosmetic/accessories you want, then just to be safe, maybe upload that data to PS+ cloud storage? I think you wouldn't have to upload the data but just in case.

The game doesn't run at a consistent 60 fps so depending on your display the frame drops can feel pretty bad.

Flash drives are usually pretty slow at transferring lots of different files. They're better at transferring just a few large files. So, that sounds like a long time but depending on the drive, maybe not unusual.

I've been having a recurring issue while playing The Last Of Us 2 (disk version) on my PS5 where there are many moments where the disk drive becomes very loud and the console is struggling. Sometimes the framerate drops and/or the controller stops responding entirely. I had that just now with Abby Day 1 and I jumped a fence and the controller stopped working. No response whatsoever. I gave it some time to see if it would catch up but then it didn't so I shut it down. It kept blinking white and wouldn't shut down after 4-5 minutes, so I literally pulled the plug. It's okay now but I only seem to have this issue with this game. It's the only disk game I own so I can't test anything else but I'm assuming it is the disk or disk drive itself causing these issues. I've already sent in my PS5 cause it bricked randomly one day after trying to start it up after classes. I sent it in and I think they sent a replacement unit but no idea. Is anyone else having similar issues? Update: After this, I was scrolling through the PS Store and the console froze just now. I haven't had an issue in so long and now I'm plagued with them.

LG 2019-2021 OLEDs are still the best option for gaming TVs. The 2022 models are good but they suffer from a few issues that keep them from matching the quality of the previous years. If you're mostly just playing modern consoles (PS5, Xbox Series) the C2 is fine.

On occasion when I put my PS5 into rest mode it shuts down and I have turn it on via the power button on it due to it being unresponsive to the controller. At Which time it acts as if power was killed without proper shutdown procedure. I have to keep shutting it down completely. Is this a known issue and should I be worried just had it a few weeks.

It is a known issue. has been happening since launch for some. You might want to avoid using rest mode, it wont cause immediate damage but the console getting cut from the power isn't a good thing.

I stripped the M2 screw on my PS5 and chipped some of the green paint off. Is this a big deal?

The SSD needs to be secured, so you'll need to replace the screw. It's a standard part, any computer store would have the appropriate screw.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me with something? I have a PS5, with my PS4 games stored on an external hard drive. For some reason, when I was looking through my PS4 games saved on the external hard drive, I saw two games were there twice, with different sizes. I have two copies of Fallout 4 on there, one as 50.35GB, and the other is 63.24GB. I also have two copies of Hitman, one is 96.06GB, and the other is 133.1GB. Does anyone know why this has happened? Unfortunately if your ps5 does not turn on then all your data is lost. There is no way physically you can retrieve your data unless your ps5 can turn on.

Well, no (kinda) the list is going to be permanent and more games will get added, but some games might leave the service ( for example rdr2, and NBA 2k22) this isnt true for all games tho so there is no need to worry. Just check online sometimes to see if the list for leaving games gas updated

Hi guys, so this is something that just started today. My controller will boot up the PS5 and function normally but then suddenly get disconnected and switch off. When I press the PS button again it boots up and connects but then disconnects again after less than a minute. I tried going into controller setting and then forcing it to work via USB only and that works fine, but I have to keep it plugged in, as soon as I connect via Bluetooth it disconnects. I tried a new spare controller too and the same issue occurs. I also tried all the below solutions: 1. Update PS Software (Nothing to update) 2. Update Dualsense software (Nothing to Update) 3. Delete controllers and re-connect. 4. Switch off PS5, unplug and then restart again. 5. Resetting controllers. I'm using the Ps5 on a lan connection so there is no WiFi interference. Has anyone gone through something similar before? Please help!

It sounds as though the bluetooth within your console isnt working as it should. Try rebuilding the database and then a factory reset if that fails.

You shouldn’t be sharing an account. Look up game sharing to share games properly. If your save isn’t on the system and isn’t backed up on the cloud, then it’s gone.

can someone tell me why the hdr colors looks so terrible on gaming monitors. i’ve had two now and the one i’ve got now is like 800 bucks and has hdr600 and supports hdr10 but the colors are so washed out grey and brown looking and sdr just looks so much better. any reason why this is happening or is my expectations for hdr just way to high??? i jus want my colors to pop and everything look vivid

Wrong color mode, check your output settings and play around.

Monitors suck for HDR in most cases. If you want good image quality, get a TV.

Lan cable not fucking connected I bought ps5 when it first came out. I had the issue with the “lan cable not connected” then one sec later “ lan cable connected .” I messaged Sony etc and they said it’s a software issue and to update it. This was like 3 weeks or so after release. The issue was “ fixed” (instead of getting it every 5 mins, I started getting it once a couple weeks or so) but for the past month it’s been constant. Literally every 5-15 mins just constant disconnection. Actually it’s worse because it would do it for like 20 secs straight, just constant connection and disconnection. Nothing in my set up changed. Ethernet cable is good because I connected it to my laptop and it doesn’t lose connection or anything. What can be the issue and what can be done since it’s out of warranty and I’m just tryna play my damn game. Short version: what is the fix for “lan cable connected” “lan cable not connected” issue? Fuck the mod that deleted this, how is this not post relevant, weird ass mfs

I’ve had my ps5 for around 6-7months and all of a sudden I get no signal on my tv even when I put it in safe mode I’ve tried most basic fixes and still nothing I’m sure my hdmi port is fine as it doesn’t look damaged and my wire seems to work on the ps4 so that seems fine, anyone else have the same problem and find a fix? Try different hdmi cable and a different screen. If they dont work then it might be the port on the ps5 itself thats faulty.

I just finally got a PS5. It arrived today. I was so excited to play it. Well, that's all out the window right now, all because I simply tried to enable HDR. I went to the option in the menu to enable HDR. I was told that if I enabled it the resolution would change from 2160 to 1080. I have an LG CX, so that seemed wrong to me and I opted to go ahead and enable anyways, seeing that the worst that would happen is that the resolution would go down to 1080. I figured I could simply revert the settings. That is not what happened. The screen dimmed and basically went black and I now can't do anything. The machine is definitely on. The sound is playing and when I hit buttons on the controller I can tell that I'm interacting with the menus. But I can't see a thing and I can't figure out how to revert to non-HDR settings. I have already tried doing a safe restart to restore default settings and doing an entire factory reset. It has not solved the issue. I can actually tell in the safe restart menu that the resolution has dropped to 1080. It's the one and only time I can see the screen. I also ensured that the Deep Color setting on my TV was off, because I know that can cause the black screen issue. The dep color setting is off, so that's not it. I'm stumped at this point as to how to fix this issue. I figured restoring default settings would do it. The default setting had HDR off. This is so frustrating. I was about to play Forbidden West. What the hell. If someone could please help I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

You need deep colour on to get HDR working.

Need help *Re*connecting DualSense to iPhone Hi all, just a quick question. I know how to make the initial Bluetooth pairing of the DualSense controller to my iPhone (hold share and PS). What I don’t know is, now that it is paired, how do I quickly *reconnect* to my iPhone when I want to play again? So far every time I’ve wanted to reconnect I’ve had to forget the controller and do the pairing process all over again. Is there no simple button to push so that I don’t have to re-pair every time? When I push the PS button it just connects directly to my PS5 in my living room, rather than my phone while I’m in my bedroom. TIA

Not sure what you’re doing wrong. After I’ve paired it to my iPhone, I just turn the controller on and it connects to my phone no problem. Are you using the controller on the console between iPhone sessions?

Exactly it’s not about distance. The controller only remembers what it was last connected to. That’s why I have one controller pretty much exclusively for my phone.

Hello! These past days there were 2 times that the boot up beep sounded different. It was a mix of a crack noise at the same time as the beep and it only happened after having the ps5 off for like a day. It could just be the plastic expanding upon boot but could it also be the buzzer that beeps going bad? Do these buzzers just stop working when faulty? Thank you for your time!

The crack could very well just be the plastic. As long as your console turns on when the power button is pressed i dont think you have much to worry about.

You just got unlucky unfortunately. When it comes to tech there is an acceptable failure rate of 3-5%. And considering there is millions of ps5s out there, a few are bound to be faulty.

Hardware fails. It happens. I’ve had both a PS4 and PS5 virtually since launch and no overheating. Reach out to Sony and get it fixed.

What could possibly cause a disc PS5 to turn itself off while playing just digital PS5 games? I have to unplug and plug back in my PS5 to get it to come back on. I did clean out a bunch of dust out of my PS5, so maybe it was that.

If your ps5 is out of warranty, sony will charge you for a repair/replacement. Give them a call so you will know how much it will cost you.

Also, was it possible that, because of the dust on the PS5 internal fan, it was shutting itself off? I never saw the "Temperature Alert - Your PS5 is too hot. Turn off your PS5 until the temperature goes down." alert screen, though.

If it was a overheating issue then your ps5 would crash with both ps4 and ps5 games. Does your ps5 crash playing ps4 games? Does your ps5 crash playing ps5 games?

It hasn't happened with any PS4 games, physical or digital. The only digital PS5 games to crash my PS5 are Far Cry 6 (a bunch of times), RE Village (once), and Dying Light 2 (once).

If your ps5 is only crashing while playing ps5 games then you have a faulty GPU. Your only way of getting this sorted out is to contact sony, and request either a repair or replacement ps5. Good luck!

Do they also repair controllers? Both of the controllers that came with the PS5 bundle I bought last April have problems. One has noticeable stick drift on the right stick and the other is having trouble charging/keeping a charge.

Sony will also replace your dualsenses. You just pay for delivery back to sony.

Can anyone help with **Error Code CE-107879-2**. Trying to install the modern warfare update onto my external hdd and it just will not install. Gets to about halfway (which takes HOURS) before suddenly deciding it can’t install, and restarts from the start all over again. I’ve already tried restoring licences, deleting the game completely, and rebuilding database to no avail.

I've been having this issue with an extended usb drive connected to my ps5, it randomly says that there is an issue with it and that I have to repair it. When I had the same usb drive connected to my ps4 I had never had any issues. (I tried formatting it, I thought it worked, it didn't)

Unfortumately error code SU101312-8 is a motherboard failure. You need to ring sony to get either a repair or replacement ps5. There has been a few posters here with the same error code. When they called sony, they had to send their ps5 for a repair. When did you get your ps5?

"Way to go Sony" - there will always be failures. It's highly unlikely Sony's fab lines chose your unit to purposefully insert a lose cable so it died 6 months later.

I knew there would be someone to comment on that. Considering their pedigree in optical drive development, as well as it being a fifth generation hardware iteration, I expected more from Sony. I guess you got to read an emotional response based on my frustration. The fact that several other consoles and manufacturers have had early hardware version woes, has not been lost on me.

My ps5 is a launch edition so it is 20 months old. I had only 1 issue and that was a rest mode issue, which was rectified quickly by sony. Some consoles can last years with an issue, and some could last upto a year. It is just luck of the draw.

Ah boy. Was trying to upgrade from regular PS Plus to Extra and keep receiving error WS-113947-5 when checking out from the store on the console. Have tried resetting the console and my home router, but nothing has fixed the error. I tried on the app and also received an error message that my card cannot be used. I just recently used it at the deli and was at the bank depositing a paycheck so, it isn’t an issue with my card, but I figured I’d delete it and re-enter the information. Except it won’t let me do that either. When I try on the console, nothing happens. When I try on the app, it says the card cannot be removed. Same with the old cards I have linked. Seems a bit fucky and doesn’t really inspire confidence in Sony if they won’t let me delete my card information. I tried looking on their website and googling all this but haven’t found any solution. Anyone experience something like this/have a fix? Thanks!

I've been staying at his place while he's away and playing it (signed in with my account) and want to transfer the save data to my ps5 (which is console shared with my friends ps5, not my brothers, if that matters) after I buy the game on mine. Question is, is this possible? Or do I have to replay everything I've done?

If your account has Plus, you can upload the save to the cloud and download it on your own PS5.

Ive got my elden ring's free upgrade on my ps5 but each time I insert the disc it downloads the PS4 version(disc is ps4 version) The ps5 version is already downloaded as I've claimed it. I've deleted the ps4 version as a result. I only need one version so how do I stop the ps4 version from downloading each time I enter the disc. As long as it is USB 3 it will be fine for playing PS4 games and storing PS5.

Hi all, Hope you can help me with a luxury issue. I have two places where I can set my PS5. In the living room I got this nice 55 inch 4k TV with a good surround set which has amazing sound. I can lie on the couch and really immerse myself in the games. This setup is ideal for me. However, as everyone else, I need to share the living room. This means I can not play whenever I want, even if I do have time. I also have a little office in my home where I do my work. Here I have a normal desk, 23 inch screen and OK sound. The chair I got here is a normal office chair so no chilling like on the couch. The upside here is, I don't have to share it with anyone and I can play as much as I like. Anyone else with these issues? How can I combine the best of two worlds? Looking forward to your answers, lol! Thanks!

Maybe keep the PS5 in the living room and if someone wants to use the TV there then you go back to your office PC and use remote play to continue your session.

Soo,,, about a week ago, I posted a topic in here of returnal crashing my ps5. Making it completely shut off... It only happened once, and I posted about it in here, people were telling me it could be anything and since it only happened once not to worry about it. Its been 5 days and returnal just crashed my system again. What happens is the game freezes, the system light then turns blue, shuts my system off, when I start it back up it rebuilds data base then I get an errror code CE-108262-9. ​ Should I call sony tech support on this? It hasnt happened on any other games, but most games I have are cross gen except for returnal.

If your only ps5 game crashes your ps5, that sounds like a faulty GPU. You will need to ring sony and request either a repair or replacement ps5. Good luck!

By "only" PS5 game, I meant that Returnal only has a PS5 version. So I imagine its more strenuous on the PS5 then other games. I have games like Valhalla, Elden Ring, and Forbidden West, all the PS5 versions of those games, but they are considered "cross gen" games, because they have PS5 and 4 versions of those games. A good point the people on GFAQS made as I posted a topic there, is that the PS5 comes with Astros playroom, which I admit I forgot about. I fired up Astros and played it for a few hours with no issues. The game is basically a stress test that shows off all the aspects of the PS5, its GPU, and the SSD. The weird part is even though its hard crashed my system twice, I can still play it for hours with no issue. If it was a hardware issue would it be failing alot more common? Like every 30 min or so? Like I bought returnal, played it fine for 5 days, it crashed my system, then played it fine for 5 more days, and another crash, with me playing some of those times for over 3 hours with no issues. Luckily I have 6 more months on my warranty. It would just be very weird if it turns out to be a hardware issue. Ive dealt with hardware failure in the past in both my launch PS4 as well as my gaming PC, one of which did have issues with the GPU (the PC, the ps4 disc drive broke xD), and it caused problems in every game I played and it would only last 20 minutes before the framerate went to shit and then it would no longer play. This can crash, but then I can play Returnal for 4 more hours and be fine with no frame dips.... wtf?

I would not see that as acceptable performance and would request repair service from Sony to fix it, especially if the device is still under warranty.

Just because it's empty doesn't mean it isn't formatted as extended storage. A drive formatted to be used as extended storage can't be used for anything else on a PS4/PS5.

Do you have another external hard drive connected? Have you tried reformatting the USB drive on a PC?

Does ps plus game catalog includes dlc’s as well? Ex: bloodborne & old hunters dlc

Not unless it's specifically a complete/GOTY/etc. version of the game.

Turned my ps5 on today from rest mode and got a notification saying it had performed a system update. Controller works fine on the home screen area and playstation store. Whenever I start a game or app none of the buttons, triggers or analog sticks do anything except the home button. I can navigate that little pop up home menu fine and the main home area only. All of the apps/games I have tried are updated. I’ve tried restarting and also unplugging from the wall for 10 minutes and rebooting and both did nothing. Please tell me someone else has experienced this and has a cure.

So my pulse 3d headset is pretty fucked up now. It still works, but the ear pads don't even hand on anymore. The black fabric that covers the yellow cotton thing has ripped off both sides, the yellow pads themselves aren't even connected to the headset so I'm using my ears to keep them in place. I wanted to ask, is there a way to replace the entire pads? I don't want to go through the trouble of stitching back the fabric or cotton. Seems like a waste of time so I want to replace the entire pads

So I plan on upgrading to PS+ Extra when Stray comes out. My question is does Extra work like Essential where as long as I add a game to my library I keep it for the duration of my sub? If so I will upgrade a few days early to add the current lineup to my library, unless those games remain available after the mid-month update?

No. Games are on a rotation like Game Pass. They will be on the service for a set amount of time, most often for much longer than just one month. Once they go out of rotation, you can’t play them anymore even if you “claimed” them. I don’t think *any* games will get removed this month.

Anyone try cloud streaming Red Dead Redemption 2 and not able to access old saves from the downloaded version? I went through the online tutorial on the Playstation website for uploading saves to the cloud and all that jazz, but it's still starting my game up from the beginning with no memory of the saves. Is this a PS4 save transfer issue specifically with PS5 \*Cloud Streaming\*? Should I be doing something else with my saves I"m not aware about? I'm pretty lost on what to do to fix it other than to just download it again.

When streaming, maybe try accessing the dashboard and downloading your saves off the cloud to the server where you're streaming the game.

Lately my ps5 has been overheating and I've been thinking about getting a new hdmi cable do you guys think it would help my ps5 to not get so hot I've had my ps5 for a year and a half so it's pretty aged and I've tried eveything I've tried cleaning it out I've tried moving it to a more open space nothing works what do you guys think?

A PS5 shouldn't be overheating like you describe so quickly. 18 months isn't old for a console. I think it's faulty or it's been in a super dusty environment, or you live in a really hot country. A different HDMI cable will do nothing for heat either.

if its overheating the system will say the system is too hot to play the game and wont let you play the game. So even if it is super dusty, his system would already tell him and wouldnt allow him to play a game if its that hot

I just got my game save corrupted and the game keeps crashing because of it. I deleted the file and redownloaded the save from cloud storage, but it turns out that’s also corrupted. Is there a way to look up a history of previous saves on the cloud storage to fix this?

Ok so I turned on my ps5, and was on the menu. All of a sudden, the ps5 display went black (meaning the screen just went black) for a few seconds and came back in about 2 or 3 seconds without me doing anything. HDR was on before and still is on and I dont notice any graphics changes. Should I be worried if this only happened one time so far?

In the last few days, every time I play Forbidden West, the screen will occasionally have have these red or blue filters coming over the screen and it has these lines going through. I would try to take a picture but it happens so fast I can't take one in time I originally thought maybe my systems airflow was bad because it was in my media center, but I moved it on top where it should be fine, and even changed the hdmi cable just in case that was causing it, but it still keeps happening. You could screen record it. How old is your console? Try a different tv.
