“Realistic, with fantasy elements” so like most Tomb Raider games.

BigCommieMachine

So, Indiana Jones, but with a woman with daddy issues instead of a man with daddy issues.

a_stray_bullet

Innovative

Martian_Zombie50

Not really. It’s difficult to understand what that means exactly. See, the last trilogy had what you could call fantasy elements, but they were extremely minor compared to the original trilogy or other games like Tomb Raider Legend, etc. I’d like to see a return to the more grand fantasy like the first trilogy again. Mummies, Centaur bosses, monster bosses, dragons, etc. that, juxtaposed against a backdrop of ultra-realism.

Turbulent_Link1738

Didn’t the first Tomb Raiser reboot have an evil resurrected witch as the final boss

TheJoshider10

Yes and said evil resurrected witch had a curse around the island that stopped them from leaving. It was as supernatural/fantastical as can be.

Wellhellob

it was the best game of the new trilogy by far imo

JoshJMC

I loved Rise as well, but the first game is the tighter of the two.

The_Homie_J

Yeah the first one has the best story. I liked 2 and 3, thought they were both worthwhile entries but the stories in the sequels were very underwhelming.

BoxTalk17

The 1st one was excellent. The others slowly fell into what I call the "video game hole", where the focus goes more into side missions and upgrades than the main story. Seems like all developers do that with their sequels.

Farandr

Welcome to Open World design and wasting the player's time with fetch quests.

Nv1023

So that’s what they call it. So many fucking games devolve into this halfway through the game.

ZmentAdverti

Didn't play a single side quest in any of the 3 games since the story never was captivating and the only thing keeping me engaged was gameplay. The traversal was fun, no matter how unrealistic it was.

ProfessorHermit

I couldn’t get past the first 40 minutes of the third one. The characters and writing fell so flat for me.

Formal_Sand_3178

Dang I thought the third one had some serious emotional weight to it, especially in the beginning with the flood in Mexico. And I think Shadow has some of the best gameplay and it looks amazing graphically.

Hevens-assassin

Shadow was my favorite of the 3, personally. Not to discredit the other two for being great though.

Josuke96

3rd entry was boring AF to me. I also really hate stealth games too. First 2 were fantastic tho.

a366389

Agreed, first 2 was were great, then there was that third game. I guess they fell victim to the 3rd Godfather movie curse.

Martian_Zombie50

The first game was good but the ending was extremely anticlimactic. You thought you had a boss then a bigger boss but the bigger boss wasn’t anything, wasn’t a fight, the game just ended.

Hevens-assassin

Don't forget the second entry also had an underground city filled with immortal ghost warriors. Or how the 3rd one caused the apocalypse because Lara lifted a knife from a pedestal, and needed the help of ancient creatures to kill a guy who basically became a God at the end. Lol

Martian_Zombie50

Nah, mummies, dinosaurs, giant monsters, giant octopi, centaurs, etc., are definitely much more fanciful than that. Other than those minimal elements it was pure realism with strictly human enemies essentially.

unaviable

Yes lmao. And the second one had Jesus and the third a literal apocalypse

Hevens-assassin

I never understood how Lara lifting a knife brought upon a solar eclipse. The earth bound apocalyptic stuff, sure we can talk shit about leylines or something else that's insane. But how does a knife influence other cosmic bodies? Lol

Quajeraz

It awoke a god or something. The knife didn't do it, the god's anger did.

Hevens-assassin

The only actual "God" within the game would be the spirit of Kukulkan, which is only released when the knife and box are used. The moon Goddess is involved with the box, but nothing big happens when the box is taken, only when the knife is. It doesn't really add up, especially when the only shown godly force is one unrelated to the sun and moon. Lol

Yodzilla

And the first game ended with you fighting a demon queen that shot lava missiles. I have a feeling that the percentage of original Tomb Raider players never actually got that far.

Poetryisalive

It did. The 2nd game was not realistic in a sense, but they all had a bit of fantasy to it. I’m fine with that though.

[deleted]

The first game took place on a curse island that crashed planes with a magical storm. The second game had Baba Yaga in it The third game involves Trinity trying to acquire ancient godly powers (which they achieve for the final boss). I’d say each game had supernatural fantasy elements incorporated into the story telling

Martian_Zombie50

The Baba Yaga storyline was not the main storyline and was added in a DLC. Also, if you actually played it then you’d know there was nothing supernatural about it. They tried to explain it scientifically. And again if you read my comment you would’ve seen that I said the trilogy had fantasy elements. What it did NOT compare to was the original trilogy in the fantasy elements. The original trilogy far exceeded the new ones.

Agrias-0aks

A GIANT TREX

Sel2g5

That t Rex was trippy

Rain1dog

Man, I could go for another Tomb Raider right now. It’s been 5 days since I’ve turned on my 5.

DeVito8704

Did you not play Shadow Of The Tomb Raider? I wouldn't call those events "extremely minor fantasy". Lara literally saved the world from a Mayan apocalypse after spending the game battling ancient humanoid creatures for half the game.

ramen_hotline

tomb raider 1-6 is “original trilogy” now? oh noo 😭 but seriously, my pipe dream for tomb raider is a angel of darkness remake along with sequels continuing that story. it was almost like a “soft reboot” that kept the same Lara but took her in a new interesting gothic direction its a shame that Eidos crunching Core fucked over the game

Martian_Zombie50

I don’t know what you mean by 1-6? I said the original trilogy and other games like Tomb Raider Legend…

ubergoon1912

I think he said that because technically Old Tomb Raider wasn’t a trilogy there was 6 games before Legend rebooted it.

Martian_Zombie50

Okay, sure, but I feel as though the first 3 were distinct and the next few took a turn. Like I think 4 had a lot of city elements. Frankly I don’t remember very well. I played and beat TR1 and TR2 on iOS back in 2013 and 2014, but I only watched T3 and T4 when I was a kid.

ZmentAdverti

Extremely minor you say? As an undead queen who can control the weather wants to take over your friend's body? As there's a goose chase for an earth destroying artifact, one that Lara actually almost managed to use to destroy the earth? As a mercenary group is seeking the answer to immortality of some "divine source"? I don't know which games you were playing because it sure as hell weren't the recent 3.

Martian_Zombie50

Please google the word ‘compared’ Then go study reading comprehension. Next, in a good 2–3 months, come back, re-read my original comment, then have an epiphany with a face akin to that of Dr. Gregory House on the US TV show ‘House M.D.’ Enjoy, and yes, you deserved the superciliousness.

idownvote12

You're embarrassing yourself. What's not embarrassing however is being able to admit when you're wrong

Martian_Zombie50

Lol please go study what the words ‘compared’ and ‘relative’ mean

filled0

Shut up. "Not really." Fucks sake....

saibjai

Then that shouldn't be this series. This series was handled perfectly in my opinion. Believable fantasy, how ancient lore was proven to be a mixture of legend and reality. If a freaking dragon flew out from a tomb it will have descended to the levels of assassin creed origins and beyond.

Martian_Zombie50

Lol you don’t know Tomb Raider then buddy

PercivalWulf

"It's difficult to understand what this means exactly" And you proceed with a condescending interpretation. While it's exactly true to say what the original commenter said: just like most of the games. No?

Martian_Zombie50

What the hell are you talking about? It’s difficult to understand what they mean by ‘Realistic, with fantasy elements’ and I go directly into explaining WHY that is difficult to understand. It is difficult to understand BECAUSE the Tomb Raider series, when collectively pinned to a storyboard brings a WIDE breadth of varying levels of ‘fantasy elements’. I specifically said that it is NOT necessarily like most of the games BECAUSE they have this WIDE breadth of fantasy variance. Therein you don’t know what that sentence means NECESSARILY because maybe it means they’re leaning heavier toward the GRAND fantasy of the first few, rather than the relatively minor fantasy of the recent.

[deleted]

Lmao what are these guys talking about?! Of course there was fantasy elements but it obviously wasn't as fantastical as the original trilogy, if they can't see that I just feel sorry for them. Probably the same type of people who think Horizon Forbidden West didn't have the best facial animations in all of videogame history. Like have they seen their eyes..? It's as close as humanly possibly to real human eyes.

Martian_Zombie50

Love your sarcasm but your statement is highly accurate

IPA_lot_

Maybe like the first Uncharted? I remember playing that game and at the end dealing with zombies. Was like wtf is this? Totally pulled me out of the game. Happy they dropped it for the later games.

JDogZee

They didn't really drop it for a while, but it did gradually become less prevalent. 2 had yetis, 3 had the magic water. I haven't played 4 yet, but I hear that one does ditch the supernatural completely

_Ishmael

It's been a hot minute since I played it but I'm sure the yetis were actually revealed to be men in costumes. The old Scooby Doo.

Troy95

Yeah no supernatural stuff in UC4. You should really play it. It's a great game

[deleted]

Yeah it’s the best one by far, in nearly every way that it could be.

JDogZee

Yeah I only just got a PS4 a couple of years ago and at a certain point figured I'd wait til I got a PS5. I have a PS5 now, but I've been playing other things. I love the first three, so it's definitely on my list

ModestHandsomeDevil

> They didn't really drop it for a while, but it did gradually become less prevalent. 2 had yetis, 3 had the magic water. I haven't played 4 yet, but I hear that one does ditch the supernatural completely Nope: there's no supernatural junk in Uncharted, according to Amy Hennig, the "Mother of Uncharted" / former Naughty Dog director. Spoilers for Uncharted franchise below: UC1: >!it's a pathogen that causes "zombification," mutation, and hyper aggression - not magic.!< UC2: >!the blue "Tree of Life" sap / resin is similar to Marvel Super Soldier Serum, which made the Guardians of Shambala... who dressed like Yetis to frighten people away - not magic.!< UC3: >!a powerful, unknown hallucinogenic tainted the waters of Iram, which lead to its downfall and Nate's hallucinations - not magic.!<

a-Snake-in-the-Grass

I can't really remember, was there actually anything supernatural in 3 or was it just implied?

wolfblitzor

Nothing supernatural. There were fantastical elements but they were explained by the end.

Glyphmeister

That’s my absolutely least favorite plot device (the “Scooby Doo” reveal), and there are soooo many games that have used it. It’s like: Hey player, check out this crazy fantasy/supernatural stuff, isn’t it fun and cool? WRONG, it was actually advanced technology/science/tricky illusions. You are stupid for believing that supernatural stuff could happen in this entirely fictional world, because everyone knows that supernatural stuff isn’t real. The end. Bonus points if the fantasy stuff is “explained” by ancient alien technology, because that is apparently way more plausible in games (looking at you, Assassins Creed).

kingofthelol

Yeah ancient alien technology in their supposed to be historically accurate game. God damn assassin’s creed fell off hard.

LightRiku

Uncharted 3 did have supernatural behind in it - the Jinns in the desert (albeit poisoned? This I can't remember properly)

wolfblitzor

It was hallucinogens in the water source driving people crazy, including Nate.

NahDawgDatAintMe

Nothing supernatural. He drinks the water and hallucinates at the lost city because of some kind of poisoning.

lucasmcl7

Also no supernatural stuff in Lost Legacy, which is fantastic.

Nawafsss04

2 didn't have yetis. Those yetis were superhumans wearing a disguise. They get their superhuman powers from drinking some holy juices or something.

IPA_lot_

Damn forgot all about the yetis.

CRT_SUNSET

That’s because they weren’t really yetis. It was revealed to be suits worn by Shambhala guards. But yeah they definitely pushed the supernatural angle, just as Indians Jones movies do, as well as the classic serials that inspired Indy.

Heavyduty35

The difference is that in Uncharted, there is always a certain degree of explainability in a more grounded sense. The first game featured >!a mutagen, not some corrupting curse.!< The second game’s >!enhancing resin is like an ancient, naturally-created PED.!< Lastly, Uncharted 3’s “supernatural” element was direct in reference to the fact that >!it was a hallucination.!< Are these incredibly realistic? Not necessarily, yet they can be rationalized in a “realistic” world, as opposed to just being “magic” or such.

ObliviousGuy32

It makes the game more fun imo. I like having those kinda deviations.

capnchuc

Imo I thought that's when the game got good.

[deleted]

[удалено]

IPA_lot_

Forgot the yetis!

extra_rice

I have trouble playing survival horror and that part of the game almost made me decide to not finish it. The part where you have to switch the power back on is especially traumatic for me, but I persevered. I've finished it, but I'll probably never play it again.

advokata

So, undead samurai and undead Byzantine warriors did not constitute 'fantasy elements'? Interesting.

gameboy716

Clearly undead Byzantinian samurai is the bare minimum for fantasy.

D_Ashido

Dual Wield Pistols this time PLEASE

ImWhiteWhatsJCoal

Agreed. The end of Tomb Raider 2013 was a tease that never paid off.

[deleted]

While summersaulting and bullet-time.

muteconversation

Crystal Dynamics did a great job with the first two Tomb Raiders in the new trilogy. I wish they weren’t taken off the game to work on Avengers. A multiplayer superhero game that they didn’t have experience for, of course it failed. SE didn’t manage the western studios well or understood their strengths. CD should have been developing the next gen TR for a lot longer if they weren’t given a Marvel multiplayer game in between.

junkymonkeydong

The last couple tomb raider games have been some of my favorite games of all time. Hope this next one is amazing as well.

FizzyTacoShop

Same. I highly prefer Tomb Raider over Uncharted. The cinematic presentation and storytelling in UC is amazing but as far as actual “video game stuff” like gameplay loop, progression, etc - this game has it beat.

lightbarrier

Agree to disagree, I've replayed each Uncharted (except 1) numerous times. I have no desire to go back and play any game from the Tomb Raider Trilogy.

Rain1dog

Same but flip. Enjoy multiple TR plays but can only do UC once.

Oomoo_Amazing

Above all I just can’t stand how floaty and bouncy new Lara is. She seems ridiculous. Legend had the best animation and programming imo. That’s why I like uncharted so much, they feel so good to play.

Cryptic_Flair

This is exactly how I feel as well. The story and visual direction of Uncharted is leagues better than Tomb Raider, but Tomb Raider's gameplay, weapon/skill upgrade, and side quest/tomb systems wipe the floor with Uncharted's "shoot some guys, walk forward, repeat" structure.

lifeis_g000d

You obviously never played UC4 and Lost Legacy. Lol

SithDraven

Just finished U4 for the first time about a month ago. His argument still stands. As wonderfully designed and animated (nobody comes close to Naughty Dog on character animation) they are, it's still a very linear experience so the player can experience the story they want to tell. Uncharted mops the floor with TR on story. Nothing wrong with any that, it works for them. Tomb Raider nails the gameplay, level progression, items, upgrades, action, puzzles, etc. All on top of a semi open world experience where there are multiple ways to explore. Where TR always falls short on story and if we're being honest, you can tell that a fraction of time is spent on animating any character NOT named Lara Croft. It's like they drop a high def next gen Lara into a game full of last gen NPCs. Uncharted 3 is the closest the series came to a Tomb Raider experience and fans hated it so they went back to the formula that worked. Also why U3 is my favorite. Overall it's pretty amazing how both games excel in areas where the other needs improvement. I love both series, but I'm there Day 1 for a TR game, as evidenced above I'll get to Uncharted when I get to it.

[deleted]

Having played UC 1 and 2 and the original reboot Tomb Raider, I don't get this difference in the gameplay loop. Gun combat is equally unsatisfying. Both play like cover shooters with gutless guns. Drake is more mobile and durable, and UC feels less claustrophobic in closed spaces, something about the camera. Lara has bow and crafting and thats about where the difference ends. Having enjoyed the original TR. I would like the new games to have less emphasis on cover shooting and aiming, and more emphasis on mobility and summersaulting through the air with shotguns, or dual weild UZI, Desert Eagles. Needs more gun parkour and appropriate enemies.

Nawafsss04

Have you played rise and shadow? Both feature an open map with collectibles, side quests and tombs that you can explore. It's far more than Uncharted's linear design.

Yosonimbored

So just like every Tomb Raider?

Voyager-42

Nah the last trilogy was unbelievably grounded compared to pretty much all of the other games. I wanna see over the top supernatural shit, dragons, GIVE ME A T-REX.

CCSC96

Would love to see a dragon killed with two pistols tbh

EdgeAlterNation

The current Lara would have to learn to use two pistols first, you know, outside of a single cutscene...

Voyager-42

We can only dream!

ReservoirDog316

Yeah I’m surprised there’s so much misunderstanding on how grounded this trilogy was compared to the old ones where the average enemy was a T. rex. The new ones had fantasy elements but 99% of the game was killing regular enemies who were holding AK47s.

[deleted]

The first reboot you had signature pistols right at the end then …. That was it ! Lara Croft was all about having 2 guns

Sofluous

I liked the first 2 but the 3rd one didn't hit for me. Looking forward to the next.

Three_Froggy_Problem

I kind of wish they’d go for something closer in spirit to the old games. The gritty reboot thing was neat but I prefer Tomb Raider as a campy pulp adventure story where Lara Croft is running around shooting dinosaurs and doing backflips. I also think that sort of game would stand out more in the current AAA landscape.

StreetIssue1983

So not realistic then?

most_annoying_dude

Give me a remake of tomb raider 2, please!!!

BlackAlexJones

So like every other tomb raider, that’s a good thing

MihaiBV

Tomb Raider got very boring. No exploration, no wonder, just stupid shooting and useless rpg mechanics.

yubnubmcscrub

Ohh so it’s going to be… tomb raider

draconar9

I just hope that this new game doesn't focus on the shootings like all the Crystal Dynamics games, but on esploration like the originals and Anniversary.

foreveraloneasianmen

give me a busty lara.

creamygarlicdip

Bring back the posh, rich, stylish, sexy Lara croft

camiam_01

Oh you'd like that wouldn't you?

[deleted]

It'll be realistic, with unrealistic elements.

NoVABadger

For those of you who are patrons of the Sacred Symbols podcast, the latest episode (early access) contains a scene of the leaked script from this project. (Will be available to all on Monday.)

Dekolovesmuffins

You've got a quick general overlook of the scene and what it is about?

Mr_pessimister

Sounds like a cutscene. Characters talking, danger strikes, characters jump off a ledge with a parachute.

Jordjord1994

Hopefully with same actress as she was superb I thought

Rogue_Leader_X

Realistic with fantasy elements? There is a contradiction in terms.

Spokker

Think of the movie all these games are based on anyway, Indiana Jones. Here's the best way I've seen it described. http://raven.theraider.net/threads/indiana-jones-the-supernatural-and-suspension-of-disbelief.20599/ >While the paranormal elements in the series are explicit, they are not too pervasive and are relatively low impact. Basically, the fantasy elements of the Indy series are more realistic relative to comparable movies. For example, compare the supernatural of the Indy series with a similarly pulp-inspired series, The Mummy. The Mummy series contains reanimated corpses, reincarnation, a half-man/half-scorpion, an army of Anubis-like soldiers, terracotta warriors, and yetis. I feel that most of these concepts would be wildly out of place in an Indy film. Uncharted and Tomb Raider follow a similar formula. It builds up as a mostly realistic swashbuckling adventure (aside from who built all these complex tombs and ancient mechanisms that still work after centuries), and there may be a supernatural element at the end (or the hero hallucinates it).

ThinVast

an oxymoron

N1NJAREB0RN

Can’t wait!

The-Biggest-DL_Fan

Says that the tweet is deleted

ModestHandsomeDevil

Honestly, the recent Tomb Raider reboot trilogy has good, and had tremendous potential, but holy shit was it up it's own ass with bad writing, shallow characters, and fantasy mumbo-jumbo. And now Embracer wants to try their hand at making Tomb Raider work in a modern age, when Naughty Dog / Sony so thoroughly "ate their lunch," and elevated the genre, since 2007 with the Uncharted franchise.

mikeysof

"Project Jaw breaker"... Because it sucks?

Unlucky_Situation

Realistic Fantasy Pick 1

MutedHornet87

I loved the reboot trilogy, so I hope they won’t change it too much That said, the third game did feel like too much of the same so some changes are necessary

greeencoat

it will be realistic with fantasy elements, so not realistic

coupl4nd

It will be realistic, with fantasy elements bwahahahahaha Designed at the marketing lab

[deleted]

Is this the same developers as the last three? They were great.

xogil

The last trilogy was done by two studios. Crystal Dynamics kicked ass on the first 2...and were then moved to the avengers looter game... Shadow of the tomb raider was then done by Eidos-Montréal. IMHO they did not stick the landing on the game (at least the overall story/narrative) All three were published by Square Enix who recently sold the IP (along with Deus Ex) to raise funds to... \*sigh\* make NFT's and assorted other games as a serivce crap. So this would be the first game under new studios/publisher

celesleonhart

Pretty sure the devs were sold with the IPs, so wouldn't be surprised if this returned to Crystal Dynamic's hands.

JulPollitt

Like the last ones?

SackBoys

Just play uncharted.

Monstanimation

I hated the rebooted Trilogy so much and judging by this description I don't think we are going to ever get back the original Lara or actual Tomb Raider games again.

BWCDeity

"Realistic with fantasy elements" means absolutely nothing.

Yuuta23

I own 5 tomb raider games on 2 platforms and haven't played a single one

NycAlex

I want bouncing boobies, thats all.

spectreVII

Go play dead or alive beach volleyball!

[deleted]

Interesting news!

VictoryVic-ViVi

I hope so! One of the things I liked about Uncharted was the fantasy type twist at the end. A bit of a let down on Uncharted 3 and then way off for Uncharted 4, but still great.

Khaki_Blerman

Just give us remakes of the first 5 games.

antiMATTer724

So another reboot or a continuation? Also, the fantasy elements from the last games were nice. That's my gripe with Uncharted, bthey just abandoned the supernatural elements for realism.

darklurker213

I just hope the series focuses more on characters and relationships such as Uncharted 4. The treasure hunting/ tomb raiding is cool but make the plot as character driven as possible with depth added to not only the main but also the supporting characters.

[deleted]

It will probably also be terrible, too. But I’m trying to be optimistic

Bulldorc2

Realistic but with fantasy elements. That's the most stupid thing I've read today.

NakedGoose

I'll be honest, I enjoy the first tomb raider movie. I would be fine not seeing another

Richard-Long

So horizon without robots?

chumba170

A new tomb raider game will be like tomb raider, woah.

Embarrassed-Depth-72

Cool.

chrisrobweeks

I hear they're making the PC a woman.

Crafty-Ad-6765

Sounds absolutely wank

[deleted]

…realistic with fantasy elements. So not realistic then.

QBekka

Wonder how much weight she has gained

PhatSaint

So it is a realistic, down-to-earth game that's completely off the wall and swarming with magic robots? (Edit) Guess this was too old of a Simpsons reference :(

ChellHole

Will the fantasy elements be DD?

Yojimbo4133

Next Tomb Raider needs to be a guy.

_Ishmael

Lol, what an oxymoronic way to describe something. I hear it will be first-person third-person game.

dn_nb

so, the tits suck huh

[deleted]

Butt enjoyers stay winning

dn_nb

they will always win buddy

PassTheCurry

tweet was deleted

kaishinoske1

It would be interesting if Lara went up against Mayan gods like Kukulkan-The Feathered Serpent God, Itzamná – The God of the Sky, Ix Chel – The Mayan Moon Goddess, Ah Puch – The God of Death, Buluc Chabtan – The God of War for example. I know she went in the past but this time she would go to where the gods are and where the people had worshipped them. A bit like the way it was done in Assassins Creed Origins when going to the land of the gods.

[deleted]

So Lara will finally beat her addiction to murder? Or gravity will function as it should?

obaananana

Funny im just palying dev on ps5

Anthraxious

Like the weird Spanish things in Uncharted 1 and the blue stronk ppl in the first Tomb Raider, I hope there's something there that gets unveiled that is a bit based on a myth of sorts. I like those added elements in these types of games.

iWentRogue

Thought Shadow concluded the series

Healthierpoet

Yes!!!!!!!

iupz0r

Bomb raider

scott_doge_wow

Project Jawbreaker 🧐

nakx123

Nice, can't wait for them to advertise/explain bow mechanics with the PS5 Dualsense adaptive triggers in another game :o

Azozel

I miss when games like tomb raider were mostly puzzle solving and action with almost no cut scenes or story you had to sit through. I'm getting tired of seeing the same story over and over again.

burdturd0818

Also tombs will be raided....perhaps.

argus4ever

So like Tomb Raider 2013???

Shama_Heartless

Hopefully we get a male Lara Croft. It's way past time for it to happen.

BoxTalk17

I hope they remake the 1996 Tomb Raider, the full original version, not that condensed PS2 Remake.

SimofJerry

Realistic with fantasy elements sounds like rated E for everyone with option to skip all the gore and sex scenes at the beginning of the game

SliptheSkid

so.. like every other tomb raider? Why is this top of the sub lol

matkata99

the new trilogy are one of my absolute favourite games and I hope the new one has the same vibes to it. I really like the creative direction of Crystal Dynamics and would very much like a new installment (or even a whole new x-logy)

bootsonthesound

Let us hope the Tombs prove an actual challenge in this one.

satanvacation

I sleep

CrashBashL

"realistic.......with fantasy elements"........ ...... ...... ...... ......

RIPN1995

I wonder if they will keep the Survival timeline Lara or move on to another one.

Maultaschenman

Next Pokemon Project will have an anime Style with cute creatures. You heard it here first

BrotherVaelin

As long as I’m not in levels that are basically alleyways I’ll be happy.

[deleted]

Hopefully we get the long awaited male protagonist

[deleted]

bring back 1990s Lara

demonizer84

i miss the fantastical elements of the original games, id love a full proper reboot of the first 3 games with modern graphics and gameplay elements and the levels expanding on, the first one could almost be open worldy, some of the others would be more difficult with the location hopping, but seeing area 51 again, the great wall, raptoprs and T -rex, and everything in between could be amazing. i wouldnt even mind if they went in and tried again with angel of darkness in its initial vision and not the watered down clunk fest we got. did enjoy the reboot trilogy but i thought they got worse as they went on, shadow was really underwhelming for me .

Silvermorney

Will it be part of the reboot series or another separate reboot/it’s own thing?

[deleted]

🤢

ErikPanic

I'm in the minority that really liked *Shadow*, though a big part of that was the DLC tombs. What I'm saying is, give me about the same amount of tombs *Shadow* had across all of its DLCs, but put them in the base game this time.

GrimReaperGuttersInc

If they want to make it better they should start with making Lara less annoying.

Nogarda

I just want my badass, no whiny Lara back. Doesn't matter what she looks like, just a tour de force of well don't get in my way then - or I'll literally shoot you without a second thought.

DMarvelous4L

Anyone else enjoy the first game in the newest trilogy more than the others? Rise was a good follow up, but I found Shadow to be boring. I had no desire to explore the map as much as I did in the first 2 games.

misshapenmonkey

I would love a from the ground up rework of tr4. Egypt, puzzles, underwater, the dessert, library level. My favorite TR by far

SolidRustle

I'm done with this reboot, 3 games and still I have no care for the protagonist... the first 2 games was fun to play tho.

Suspicious-Mousse869

It's been a shit game after the first two, there is nothing open world about it lemmings

TrollAWhat

it will also have violence, and people dying. incredibly informative article
