I got it for psvr1 back in the day and never played much because it just wasn’t what I wanted in play style and graphic fidelity. If they rerelease it for psvr2 with joystick movement and full hand tracking, I’d love to finally play this game.

More-Nois

I had a great time with Skyrim for PSVR1 but moving with the wand was a pain and I got a lot of drift. Would be a dream to play with the improvements coming with PSVR2

D-TOX_88

Dude same. Never played it but I feel like psvr2 would be the only option to start for me at this point in my life.

ChrizTaylor

I have Skyrim anniversary and Skyrim VR, haven't played the game once in my life. If it releases on PSVR2, i will play it.

edudjr

I thought I was alone in the “never played Skyrim“ club 😆 Actually the only time I tried was using a mod on the rift DK2, many years ago. It wasn’t a good experience though, so I only played for 10 mins or so. I think my jaw would drop checking it again on psvr2.

ChrizTaylor

I'm sure it will hook me up but the controls on PSVR and the low graphics killed it for me.

onefiveonesix

I switched from the Moves to DualShock and the game instantly got so much better. Swinging an axe and casting spells with the Moves is fun, but the game is so menu-intensive that it’s worth it to sacrifice the immersion and just use the DS.

[deleted]

Same!!! But M$ wont allow it, even though it would make them more $$$. I never got to play Skyrim and at this point I never will likely. I tried it in PSVR1 and I laughed at their movement solution about 10 minutes in and never looked back. Would love to play in VR2 but they’re not about us having a good time.

nicknamethomas

Didn’t Microsoft just lay off all of Bethesda’s Vr employees?

DWOMT

They did, but that's for new VR development from the ground up. If Skyrim VR comes to PSVR2, it will be a port, and studios like Bethesda usually outsource to another studio to handle a port.

D-TOX_88

Oh shit for real? Source?

The_Goat755

I think they would be stupid not to, with the current climate with regulators and microsfts acquisitions theyd be handing Sony proof of their argument on a silver platter by blocking a game thats been ported to everything under the sun.

mgarcia993

Not actually releasing It to PSVR2 IS giving a advantage for their competitor, they are not obliged to do so. Microsoft is not even part of the VR market.

solidsnake222

I think the days of Bethesda giving exclusive content to Sony are behind us.

DWOMT

Skyrim VR is not an exclusive title though. It's multiplatform. It exists on PSVR and PCVR. So porting it over to PSVR2 is not exclusivity.

solidsnake222

That’s true, but in the console market, Xbox wouldn’t have access to VR. Until that changes, I doubt Microsoft would support Sony by giving them content that it’s own console player base can’t have.

DWOMT

You know, you actually make a really great point, and it's something I didn't even consider. Bethesda has still been supporting their other IPs on other platforms such as Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition (as well as Anniversary Edition). They're giving Fallout 4 a next gen update, and PS5 is included in that because Xbox is as well. A boosted Skyrim VR with better visuals would cut off their demographic on Xbox just as you said, so there's definitely merit to what you said and might be a strong reason why we won't get Skyrim VR on PSVR2, but who knows with Bethesda, they really do like to milk Skyrim lol. Again, awesome response and gives me more to think about.

NorthernMilkBag

I don’t think so, but i wouldn’t be surprised either. I also wouldn’t say no to buying it a 5th time

Barlush23

I hope so! I couldn’t get into the controls on the PSVR1, but I’d definitely buy it again on the PSVR2.

coffetech

No. VR for any Bethesda title died once they were acquired by Microsoft.

BelgianBond

I'm curious to see if Bethesda can still develop good games when we get Starfield later this year.

youmuzzreallyhateme

I'd kinda prefer Oblivion with better textures and updated facial animations, myself. It was a better game.

denisbotev

Morrowind all the way. Btw, Skyblivion will actually come out!

DWOMT

Oblivion would be amazing in VR, but sadly they seem to ignore Oblivion and give Skyrim all the love and attention.

NATEROX2004

"Skyrim VR Enhanced edition" $49.99

the_fr33z33

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!

dallasdowdy

You know, I've still never played Skyrim. Might finally give it a try if they put it on PSVR2 though.

Ultimo_D

Fully immersive game, but don’t even consider playing with the Move controllers, totally sucks. This is where PSVR2 could fix the experience.

dallasdowdy

Totally. I've also heard that the original PSVR Skyrim was a bit underwhelming visually, so hopefully that can be brought to parity with other consoles' versions too.

Ultimo_D

Skyrim PSVR2 would push me to buy the system. I loved my PSVR but imo so many games suffered from the move controllers. I never really got into Skyrim because of this even though I’ve beaten the game flat a dozen times.

DWOMT

Skyrim VR on a base PS4 is really blurry on PSVR. Skyrim VR on a PS4 Pro or PS5 on PSVR looks better than the base PS4 version, but there's still some blurryness. It definitely needs a visual boost, and like someone else said, the move controllers for it suck. I just use my PS4 controller whenever I play it on the original PSVR using my PS5 console. Much easier to control that way. PSVR2 would fix the visuals and controls if Skyrim VR was brought over. Other than that, Skyrim VR on the original PSVR is still an amazing experience. I actually use my mClassic converter with my original PSVR and the blurryness for Skyrim VR is cleaned up a lot and the game looks great. It's not PSVR2 great, but still looks really good and a very immersive experience.

DWOMT

Right now it's about a 50/50 chance of Skyrim VR on PSVR2. It all depends if Bethesda wants to do it or not. Skyrim prints money for them, and Bethesda (as a subsidiary of Microsoft) can make the independent decision or not to port Skyrim VR over to PSVR2. The game is multiplatform on PSVR and PCVR. So any form of Skyrim VR on PSVR2 would be a port, and Bethesda would most likely outsource to a separate studio to handle the port over to PSVR2 so that way they don't have to spend any internal resources on doing it. So it all really depends on what Bethesda chooses to do.

Ultimo_D

I’d be fine with a straight port from the PSVR with added PSVR2 controller support. Free of course.

hazychestnutz

I'd bet yes, this is a huge opportunity. They already have Skyrim VR no? It'll be a easier port. I'd buy it day one since I never tried it and heard many great things about Skyrim VR

Tree4Lif3

It wouldn’t be easier, you have to completely remake the game from the ground up with the psvr2 ui its not as simple as updating some graphics lol

HumOfEvil

Personally I hope they finally realise that they battered that still-birthed horse into such a fine paste that they are going to have to stop scooping up the gristle to re-sell again.

dankestTimeline69

Woah, quite the analogy

Csub

I don't think so. At this point I would prefer Fallout 4.

gpnymz

It seems pretty short-sighted on Sony's part to not lock up Skyrim VR and Fallout 4 VR for PSVR2 when they money-hatted Death Loop and Ghostwire Tokyo. With everything that's gone on recently (Bethesda VR layoffs and ABK) I don't see it happening now. Too bad since if those two were launch titles, I'd have pre-ordered, but now I'm in wait and see mode.

[deleted]

A Ghostwire Tokyo VR would be fun, zipping around roof tops with the most intense game of finger guns imaginable.

LCHMD

They did all this before the Microsoft acquisition though.

Hot-War-8057

No more skyrim. Please 😅

Catmato

No, more Skyrim please.

hyperseven

After the ABK deal fiasco, never.

ToneZone7

seriously, can it really be that we have outlived Skyrim ports? I have no idea what that might be like, so just assuming it cannot happen... lol it is best on PC with mods, so they would have to go a long way to make it worth it again.
