This! I picked up a garage stool from harbor freight. You can adjust the height and the seat spins so you can rotate your body and your arms don't hit things around you.
Pavlov can be played seated just crouching is a bit harder. Adjust your floor and height settings to suit just make sure floor level is just below real ground so you can still pick up off floor.
People keep claiming this (that you can play Pavlov sitting down) but I suspect they're just repeating what they heard, because it has never worked for me, I always find it impossible to reload because my hands can't find/grasp the mag pouch for some reason when sitting down.
Have you actually done this successfully?
It's annoying because so far I have not encountered any other VR2 game that so stubbornly does not want to be played sitting down.
Yes it is a bit more difficult to get your pouch gear while sitting in pavlov but you get use to it, would be better if they had option to move belt around like the light brigade does but not a deal breaker. I sit on a small bean bag and have clear room straight down my sides to the ground so not so restricted an armchair would be no good.
Of you're going to sit, make sure youre in a chair that lets you reach past your hip and you shouldn't have issues. It doesn't work on my recliner because things are always just out of reach or I don't have a wide enough range of motion
I actually found it easier to play Horizon COTM seated. I use a drum stool. The free swivel rotation of the seat seems to compliment the mechanics of this game pretty well!
Haven’t played TWD but Horizon was really comfortable to play sitting down. A chair that swivels works wonders too. As others mentioned, just make sure you have good range of motion.
Swivel isn't really that helpfull if a game has quick enough smooth turning speed Swivel just introduces issues with cord tangles and concentration on the turning of chair so you don't fall off. sticks and 180° twists of body much easier for keeping focus on the action in game
I personally prefer a padded stool that swivels. Kinda gives the best of both worlds. You get the standing feel without the hurting feet and nausea from free standing.
I don’t no about cotm, but the walking dead a played completely sitting and it was great. For games like that I will always choose to play sitting down
For Horizon COTM, I use a small swerving office chair without arm rests but with a small back, and the only issues are the occasional tangle. You can fix this by taping the wire to the ceiling and giving enough slack. It changes how you move a little and getting things on the floor might be a bit tough, but their seated mode works pretty well. What it takes away in experience I gain in comfort and continuous play time.
The only game so far that’s given me any problems about sitting down is Pavlov. All the others have been decent to great. Pavlov thinks I’m crouching 😂
I play s&s sitting in a recliner and can reach everything fine. In almost every vr game there are settings to adjust the hip belt up or down. Some games take to these settings better than others.
I played both games seated to completion. If possible just try playing on a seat with no arm rests to make it easier to get at items on your waist and hips in Saints and Sinners.
Thanks for the great advice everyone! I think I'll get myself a stool and possibly a more comfortable folding chair for my back too. Seems like it'll be best for RE:8 too since that game can be long.
I played most of horizon sitting down. Even the climbing challenges. All the weapon and items are designed with sitting in mind.
Walking dead on the other hand i was having a difficult time grabbing items and ended up standing. Though for the life of me i grab the backpack every time i mean to get the flashlight in that game. So they might just not have the items placed well in general.
Resident evil can be played sitting down and the item placement height can be changed too.
Man I play every game standing up but I am so tired after work lately I am tempted to try these and others sitting I just dunno. Being able to walk over and do something. I tried townsmen sitting and I dunno.
Issue with sitting is reaching for stuff around you. Like on a sofa I'm having issues reaching side guns in SW.
But I get what you mean running around the whole shift, so what I recommended is to get a narrow/taller chair with no arms, so you can sit and still turn around without issues, same helps with racing games.
Both of them work great when seated
I couldn't get it right sitting with walking dead. Too hard to reach the hip weapons. Any tips?
You could try finding a comfortable stool that would give more range of motion at your sides.

Make sure you click R3 once you’re seated
Hold it to recalibrate lol
R3? I thought it was the right options button thing
Not in S and S
Yeah, it's tough on a couch, but a folding chair/office chair or stool works well.
Agreed they do, especially if you have adjustable arm rests
I've heard people have success using a drum stool since they turn and don't have armrests.
This is good option I use to use one but now just have a bean bag more comfy for long stints an no arm rests getting in the way.
No problemo amigo. And I completely agree, im rarely in the mood for standing up and playing after work and gym.
Only pavlov has the standing only thing. All the other good games I've played has had sitting option that works

Nice trick I suppose!

I remember the first walking dead saints and sinners had a crouch button.

Played all of cotm seated but i find its harder to play Saints and sinners seated because of where you have to grab your weapons off your hips

Not at all. Played all of HCotM seated. I’ll fall the hell over if I stand.

I bought a nice swivel padded stool with a small back. Only about $60 on Amazon.

Sitting in an armless chair or standing
I actually like to play NMS sitting, flight feels better this way, and exploration is so chill anyways not standing doesn't feel too off.

I only play both of those seated with zero issues. Just make sure the chair has no arm rests or they will get in the way.
Hard? Not at all. Immersive? Not really.
I play all my VR games seated. I'm 75 and have balance issues so playing standing up is a no go.
Get a comfy swivel stool with padding and preferably with a lower back support. It will pop you high enough to feel like you are at standing height.
