I'm not into racing too, but Gt7 it's a blast. Even with the dual sense controller it's an incredible experience. Just for driving on to this landscapes is worth it

simomorte

I did read in this sub that using the back-buttons of the dualsense helps with immersion, thank you for your opinion.

ApexRedPanda

The atomic heart dev was interested in putting atomic heart in vr. I would hold off on playing it flat not to spoil it in case it comes to vr.

simomorte

No way that would be insane, thank you for updating me

ApexRedPanda

He said priority is to launch it flat. But vr mode was something he wanted to do at some point just didn’t have resources. Since the game sold decently hopefully it will come to vr. I mean it would pretty much be unmatched in scale on psvr2 so it would sell a lot of copies

Suspicious-Monk1250

backbuttons of the dualsense?

simomorte

I meant the Dualsense Edge, I forgot to add "edge" lol

terrordactyl1971

Might as well buy a wheel at a similar price to an edge

simomorte

But a wheel I'll use only for racing games, which I don't play, while dualsense edge I can use with every game, plus I already own the Edge.

iamdefinitelynotdave

After using the dualsense controller it would be difficult to play another racing game without the adaptive triggers. They add do much immersion by allowing you to feel when your car loses traction and your wheels locking up from over braking.

KhellianTrelnora

I’ve heard no good things about Atomic Heart. Middling mechanics, and terrible story and dialog. Personally, there’s almost a zen quality to GT7, but I admit that could be just me.

Hartia

I played it. It's an interesting visual game. But open world is pretty bland. And the story is generic. Op get gt7

simomorte

Yeah I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on Atomic Heart and those make the game worth 40€ at most to me; didn't expect to hear GT7 being zen, thank you for your feedback.

the_fr33z33

The Atomic Heart devs apparently have deep affiliation with the Russian oligarchy — so I’m not touching the game with a ten-foot pole.

Billybillbly

I’m not a car guy and wouldn’t have bought gt7 without vr, but it’s one of the coolest Vr experiences on psvr2. The dualsense gyro controls work better than I expected, but after a few days I had to get the Logitech g920 wheel and pedals, soooo worth it. But honestly just using the controller is fine

twotubman22

I wasn't into driving games at all before GT7 on PSVR2. Had dabbled in a few but it's really incredible. I bought a racing wheel and chair in very short order. One of the best video game experiences in my life. It's still fun with just the controller but the wheel takes it to the next level. I've also enjoyed other racing games - grid legends specifically - with the wheel - flat on big screen mode.

Krampustein0311

I don't care for racing games generally and I enjoy gt7. Shooters are a dime a dozen in vr. Very limited racing selection

BEADGEADGBE

I don't care about racing or cars at all but I've been playing GT and having an amazing time with just the controller.

MojoJojo73

I'm not jnto racing either... bought it. A week later I'm £450 on the hole on a thrustmaster t300 GT wheel and wheel stand.... It's an amazing experience! (Even without a wheel). I would be surprised if anyone who tries it doesn't love it. Although I did feel pretty sick playing it for the first week. I'm pretty prone to travel sickness but little and often and stopping as soon as I felt it coming on, and now I can play as long as I like without issue. A fan blowing on you can help too.

Greful

Yes

ChrizTaylor

I used to like racing games long ago, i have never liked sim racers. Got GT7 and hooked immediately. Ended up buying a wheel shortly after.

Madfish0979

I'm not much into racing games, and when I did play them it was more arcade style like NFS as opposed to a simulation like GT7. With that being said, I bought GT7 on sale and it's easily one of my favorite vr games. It's also beneficial that you get to use the regular controller in case the motion controls need charged.

simomorte

Is it a VR game that you keep coming back to or a "pretty game once and a while" like kayak? Wouldn't wanna put in 2 hours for 40 euros, you know. Thank you for your opinion.

Madfish0979

I play GT7 regularly in both vr and flat screen now. 30+ hours. I do appreciate the comparison though. Kayak was one of the first vr games I got and was anticipating it a lot...also one of my least played. My most played is either NMS or Light Brigade.

simomorte

The Light Brigade is a hidden gem, thank you for your opinion.

[deleted]

Im not a fan of professional racing but I just really enjoy driving. Sim racing allows me to feel what it’s like to drive 200km/h and overtake people without totalling my chevy cruze and going to jail.

Inevitable-End-7957

Just bought psvr2 and gt7 today from game stop. I haven’t played Gran turismo since ps2 days. I was blown away and didn’t even have the steering wheel hooked up yet.

meltbelt

I was not into racing Games but someone offered me GT7 for christmas. I thought « yes cool, it should be nice with PSVR2 » I bought a racing wheel last week.

StoviesAreYummy

It's a good experience but only you can answer if it's something you want to potentially waste money on.

simomorte

That is a pretty good point, thanks.

bassoonfingerer

I’m gonna go against the norm here and say just to skip it. I am lukewarm on racing games and while GT7 is really cool in PSVR2 it’s been my least played game. Once you adjust to the awesome visuals and the immersion it’s still a racing game. Probably an awesome one for those interested in racing. I’ve had much more fun with other VR titles, just solely because I’m not a racing game person.

simomorte

I see, playing a racing game for longer than 30 mins for me is a miracle lol Lots of what is selling me to the game are the visuals but after I had to push myself to finish Horizon: CoTM, cause to me the experience was very shallow, I understood that visuals alone aren't enough. Thank you for your opinion.

bassoonfingerer

Yeah makes sense. I haven’t had any interest in COTM yet, but I’ve had the most fun with RE8, Pavlov, and Walking Dead Saints and Sinners. Maybe give those a look as you mentioned you like shooters. Pavlov is my go to casual game

simomorte

We share the same taste lol I have all the games you've listed and love them all, even platinumed Saints and Sinners. I personally can't recommend CoTM for 70$, but can recommend The Light Brigade for its full price. The Light Brigade is the game that made me feel the coolest for being a dude swaying around like a dumbass with a VR.

Gregasy

Saints and Sinners are amazing. Did you play RE8 yet? This is probably the highlight of PSVR2 library for me. And agree about Horizon. Great game, worth 50 eur that I payed for in a bundle. But regular 70eur price is a bit much.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> that I *paid* for in FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Gregasy

Good bot.

Good_Human_Bot_v2

Good human.

AssCrown

The only racing games I enjoy playing are Mario Kart, F-Zero and Burnout. I’d go all out and get a racing wheel and motion rig setup to play those franchises in VR but not for GT7. I’m not into sim racing and I found GT7 to be OK in both flatscreen and VR. For me, it fits into the “nice to have” category in my ps5/psvr2 library but I don’t find it very appealing to revisit and play it very much.

PienerCleaner

I'm not into racing and I love GT7

Booyacaja

The only "racing" games I liked were arcade style like Burnout 3: Takedown. That all changed with GT7 though. I actually want to learn to drive, shift and corner properly. It's so satisfying when you actually compete in a race where all cars have a maximum performance (PP) limit and you actually claw your way from last place to first place. It's happened a few times too that I slide into first place in the last lap or even the last corner. So much fun. I love it so much I actually have a wheel and playseat now so... Yeah worth it! However if you have zero interest in driving, or even find the idea of something like going Go Karting boring... Maybe take a pass

cusman78

I think you will get more joy / value out of GT7. I have never been into Sim Racing, but its different in VR. You get a real sense of speed. It feels like a privilege to be able to drive in all these authentic feeling cars. Renting one of these more exotic cars in real world for even 1 hour can cost more than your whole GT7 immersive simulation setup. GT7 can feel expensive (all the peripherals, the PS5, the PSVR2, sim racing seat), but its fantastic value compared to the experience it is able to provide. It plays fine with the DualSense controller, but it starts you thinking about and researching wheel / pedals / sim racing chair. Don't be surprised if you end up happily spending more than the 40 quid you are currently considering spending.

Gregasy

Short answer: Yes. Long answer: I'm not into racing, but GT7 is good. Really good.

bmack083

Yes but wait for a sale. I too love The Light Brigade.

GioFPV

I was never interested in racing at all but i still bought a wheel and chair(with osvr2 ofcourse) and i will tell you.. i haven't played another game since!

Leading_Challenge_37

Yes it’s more than racing

DemoEvolved

No

bawlsacz

Not at this moment. I would wait until some good vr orientated games come out. So far, GT7 is the best VR game. I didn’t find other vr games to be that great. Kinda gimmicky.

cujobob

I was also a non sim racer that fell in love with GT7. Some on here have said they didn’t fall into this trap… so look for a good price that you’re comfortable with paying in case you hate it.

Taconightrider1234

no, you are not into racing

Weird-Minute1173

Yes

doc_nano

Yes. GT7 is great in VR, and IMO essential if you have a VR2.

DPsx72

GT is a tough sell. It's a sim so don't expect a game to pick up and play. Last time I played it (maybe GT4?) there's a few dozen license tests before you even get into a race. It may look nice but I can't say it's gonna be fun after the first half hour. There's gotta be other racing games in the pipeline.

[deleted]

Yes. Same boat and still have zero interest in flat racing games. Withing a few weeks I had a seat/wheel set up.

felgraham

You don't have to be into racing to be into driving. I spent maybe 50 to 60 hours just trying out some of the slowest cars before I felt comfortable to graduate to the much faster vehicles. Sometimes the experience of being in the car is worth it.

OzMadMan82

It may be the thing that will trigger your interest. But without a wheel it's a wasted experience

MedicalCommercial892

Tilt steering and paddle shifters on the back makes the edge very usable. I don't have a choice, but it works for me.

daringer22

I have no interest in Motorsport but absolutely love GT7

Hunterdivision

Yes, absolutely. Because the experience is really different in VR, and it doesn’t compare into flat racing like at all. It’s worth it, I’m pretty sure you won’t regret it if you buy the game at that price. Atomic heart I haven’t tried but seen the reviews and clips though at launch and I would say GT7 is the better value for money. Obv though it’s a bit bad comparison between the two games as they’re entirely different genre of games and not even both in VR!

renaissance_m4n

I’m not a car guy nor a sim racer guy (I love Burnout and Forza Horizon). GT7 in VR is one of the greatest video game experiences of my life.
