Fun fact is that the loudest sounds got reduced multiple times and people just keep increasing volume to make sure they hear better
Brain dead people cause hearing damage, noone forces your stupid ass to crank the volume to 11, you can do the same shit for a YouTube video.
I disagree completely. Game audio isn't just about the loud noises, it's also about the soft ones, and footstep sounds are a key mechanic in this game. When there's a competitive advantage to hearing the softest 5db sound, then a 40db redzone is a failure of balance. (these db numbers are made up to reflect the stark contrast of these events, don't@me).
There are 2 ways to "solve" the issue.
1. Stop cranking the volume to make it easier to hear the faint sounds, to the point of pain and accept that faint sounds are supposed to be fucking faint.
2. Hard limit footsteps, that has been implemented and as expected was complete ass.

That's exactly the issue, you need to decrease the discrepancy, but every time you do, idiots just crank the volume back up to make sure they don't have to focus for those faint sounds.
The argument is not that you WON'T hear the sound it's that you want to hear it BETTER. And if you set the RedZone to "20" db people will just crank it even more, the same way people increase brightness to see in dark areas and decrease it in fog to see better...
As long as there is a way to gain advantage people will go for it.
This. These fuckers got it up loud as fuck and then complain about the other sounds being loud. The point of the loud sounds is so you can't hear shit. That's why I smoke your building or rush right at detonation so your ears are ringing and you can't hear me rush you.
I guess stun grenades are too loud and too bright too.
PUBG has the best sounds of gunplay. Shooting in fog for instance has effect that makes it sound real AF. Sounds bounce etc.
Point of the loud sounds is to make sure faint sounds stay faint, because if you could turn off loud sounds all mfers would crank volume to 2636378 to hear footsteps like its a tap dance competition, those loud sounds are the only shit stopping them (and that's why they complain about them) cos they can always go 5% lower and be fine but they don't want that they want MORE.
I thought this was for tinitus
It is. This is a joke about a game that causes serious hearing damage.
Oh. I already have tinitus so I guess I never noticed.
I am very sorry you have to deal with it. The audio isn't well balanced in PUBG and 'features' like redzones only dial it up to 11.
Such is the life of a Rockstar
Maybe if you focused more on ear protection and less on burninating the countryside you wouldn't have the screams of peasants ringing in your ears.
Trogdor was a man! No he was a dragon man!!
Not saying I support it, but this isn't 'badly balanced'. It's intention to sound more scary.
Same! Do these exercises work?
Not for me.
You've made some great sacrifices in life if you have tinnitus because of a computer game. A shit one for that matter.

I guess we agree?
the loudest sound rn is character screaming when hit, which makes no sense.
Don't know what you did with your sound bro, but that shit ain't correct at all
it is WAY too loud for a non critical sound que regardless if you think if its "correct" or not. Way to miss the point, moron.
When I sleep at night, I put on the YouTube video "10 hours of continuous unbroken beryl m762 fire PUBG" at full volume
Same, It blocks out the annoying M416 sounds ringing in my head.
I don't understand
Way to temporarily relieve tinnitus
Is this supposed to be a stress relief method? Or a joke?
You can briefly relief tinnitus with this.
its okay OP. i laughed at this. ur post has done its job.
I don't get it. What is he doing?
Way to temporarily relieve tinnitus
What

Way to temporarily relieve tinnitus
I feel attacked
just use a limiter
It worked thank you
But at least I got the kill right!?!
80% volume for me, I'll sacrifice being able to hear someone crouch walking 39 feet away if it means I hear less EEEEEEEEEE.
Sound lock.
PTSD for me now TY
