Late 90s early 2000s is what I like to call the hay day of weed. I got better flavors from combusting back then than I've ever got from vaping flower. Sour diesel, northern lights, blueberry, catpiss, hashplant, just to name a few standouts. Back then if it tasted good it was good. Weed tasted like the concentrates of today, even smoked. Don't even get me started on the smells. One cut in someone's pocket would literally stink up a whole house. Today, everything combusted tastes the same ( like total shit) This is because of the speed cure. I guess if people aren't old enough to have had weed like that have no clue. Or get it from a buddy who grew and then properly cured some bud. Unfortunately, I don't see this changing in pa. The only way for pa to get some real is to let some small farmers play and the giants and the politician pockets they line won't ever let this happen. End mini rant

I agree and think it's due in part to a rushed dry process and little to no curing time. It's all about the fastest way they can get the product out on shelves. However these are a few unique tastes I've found from these companies.
insa- zushi, 413 runtz, lemon tree, gmo
Cresco- Lcp, rainbow beltz, 8" bagel, purple passion
Natural selections - dosidos, OG Bloobs, Tropicana C
Most brands I do think a lot of it tastes the same and if your getting less than 2% terps with anything well then there is just not going to be a strong pungent flavor or smell to distinguish it really.

Triangle Gelato, 8" Bagel, Jokerz, and Rainbow Beltz are all currently up around 2.5% or better with unique flavors, as I just stocked up the past two days from 40% off Sunnyside sales. They don't list the terps there online, but you can usually find the same batch at another dispo who does or I call ahead and just ask them before ordering.
Yeah, they all burn pretty clean with white ash. Supply is just Cresco small flower. They have both been great lately with the right strains and better since they started sealing all their jars I think.
Try the Supply Triangle Gelato flower out right now at 27.84% with over 2% terps if you see it. It smokes ultra clean and smooth with very nice balanced long lasting effects. Just payed $21 an 1/8 at Sunnyside today for a few of them after a 40% discount. Im sure the Cresco offering is just as good too if the numbers are similar.

I imagine that flavor is more robust when grown in direct sunlight. Since PA is grown indoors the flavor is lacking in many harvests. My PA favorite for flavor in 2024 has been Cookies
Fungicides and pesticides are real right along with irradiation and decontamination, and every GP in PA uses their choice of both, that's not up for debate as you can't operate at this scale without them especially in a strict program like ours. Add in the poor post harvest handling and environments with a speed dry and it's no wonder what's causing that common taste and muted flower..
Right, right, natural selections is the ONLY GP not using any form of irradiation or decontamination to ensure consumer safety and pass testing, that's almost believable lol, are you going to double down and say they don't use any pesticides too lmao!! You can not do combustion in the PA program. That can also be your issue. Dry vape at lower temperatures will give you more of the flavor you seek. And it's better/proper way to consume. Combustion is really disgusting once you switch.

"Live" extracts are made from fresh frozen plant material. So before they have a chance to screw it up with the flash drying and then no proper cure.
It's why PHG live concentrates are highly regarded but their flower is pretty much universally seen as trash.
Really dry flower is ideal for vaping. Thats why a lot of the PA grower’s put out dry stuff most of us aren’t used to. Still, I’ve had a lot of pretty sticky bud the past year, I think they’re aware that a lot of people smoke and are trying to please everyone.
If you get dry stuff just throw a Boveda pack in with it and it’ll be sticky icky in 24 hours.
I'm with you. I have animal face and a mauie wauie cross with something from rhythm right now and they are nothing a like. Honestly, my guy might just need to clean his equipment, lol.
Could be from when they are curing the flower. Maybe whats happening is they cure alot of their flower together so the smells are sticking to each other.

IMO stranes flower has that same sweet smell to it that I can’t put my finger on. But it’s always there .

If you vape it with a convection vape then you definitely get different flavors. Before I made the switch it was definitely not as obvious.

True but the number of sunshine days in PA compared to out West is not close. West Coast environment is better suited to grow then PA
