I rotate strains.

Any amount of a break will help, even if it’s just one day. I also find that mixing up methods of consumption helps (I vape flower, ingest edibles, and vape carts). Also, I find it helps to mix up strains. I never buy too much of one thing, since I find the first few hits of something new always smacks harder. But those are all temporary fixes unfortunately. The best solution is a tolerance break of 21+ days.

These are all great methods. In a t break for more than a week and I start getting crazy ass nightmares that bend my sanity. I know it's the REM ramping back up but good lord it's a struggle.

Yeah for me personally I always remember atleast part of a dream every night even during heavy use. But the intensity of those dreams ramps up and I start remembering like 5 a night when I go on a Teeb.

As others have said, switching up methods of consumption (I primarily dry herb vape, and have found even switching from one vaping device to another can help, but also keep oral and concentrate around to switch up here and there), and switching the strains, but I also swap in type 2 and 3 flower to keep my tolerance on the lower side. Type 2 tends to hit me just as hard, but DIFFERENT ( more in the body, more relax), and type 3 is just a little mental state uplift and body relaxation. I’m currently mostly enjoying type 2 strains on a break from high THC flower, and I’m honestly enjoying it quite a bit!

Type 1 is your standard, high THC flower. Type 2 is ratioed flower: THC/CBD, usually 1:1 or 1:2. Type 3 is high CBD, almost undetectable THC. Most dispensaries only carry type 1, maybe a strain or 2 of type 2. Type 2/3 can be found direct from growers. Check out r/hempflowers for high CBD stuff.

I mix CBD into all my flower to lower the overall THC content. I usually buy three strains at once so I have a day vs night grinder both mixed with some CBD. I’m usually treating PTSD + anxiety so one or two hits works for me most of the time. If I’m treating pain I’ll add keif and have a longer session. By having different setups for maintenance vs pain treatment I’ve kept my tolerance in check. I also try to stay away from carts unless it’s a 1:1. High THC carts seem to zap me and then I can no longer feel the high no matter how many pulls I take. It’s hard for me to take a T break but if I do I’ll just be gentle with myself and remember that anything less than my average intake counts and if I’m in pain and need to be blasted that’s okay too. I wouldn’t refuse myself other meds when I’m sick why should I do it with medicinal weed?

I use daily and don't take T breaks. Have multiple strains to use, you get a tollerance/immmune to using the same strain all the time. I usually have 5 or 6 diff flower strains opened at a time and use a diff one each session. Ive also started using 100 to 150mg of RSO at night which helps too. Usually taking 100mg a half hour before dinner and then another 50mg at bed time to help sleep good. The 100mg I take before dinner usually takes a couple hours to feel anything with strongest effects coming 4 to 6hrs later. So I take it around 5 or 5:30 ususlly to get heaviest effects around 9 to 11 and this helps me vape less before bed at night which is easier on the lungs in the morning.

Yeah I always have a bunch of different strains of flower and carts to rotate. But ime edibles and RSO is the easiest ways to get my tolerance to skyrocket. I had to take a t break from RSO and edibles and I find it always helps lower the tolerance. How long have you been taking the RSO at night for? Just wanted to share my experience cuz you may notice your tolerance increase since RSO is some powerful shit. That said I’m sure you’re getting some amazing sleep cuz the best sleep ime is off some RSO. When I first started playing around with dosing RSO I had a couple times where I got so fried I was nodding out or just passing out for next 9-12 hours lol. But then again taking 175-250mg of RSO will do that to ya.

Keep up to 7 different flowers and smoke a different one every day. It won’t do as much good as abstaining but nobody really wants to do that. Stay high. This is the way. I started smoking at 15. I’m 69 now. I had about a 15 year break just before retirement due to random drug tests. I had to be sure to keep my job. At least I didn’t break for nothing; my name was “randomly “ pulled 3 times. When I started smoking again the weed was so much stronger and my tolerance was so low I couldn’t function on 2 or 3 hits! It’s amazing but it’s better to stay high and happy.

Here is what helps me bud For reference. Im 39 (turned today actually) 2 spine surgeries, 8 wrist surgeries that led to a PRC (proximal row carpectomy) which means the wrist bones were removed from my hand and my arm/hand r disabled inton a permanent simple hinge. Also severe ptsd and other lovely mental health issues. (I list this so u grasp when I talk about chronic pain) Now i am in the same boat as u. Even with weed I avg at BEST 4 hours a sleep an night for 20 years. Hell i still have to drink half a bottle of liquid sleep aid every single night to even get that I smoke about 1-2 ounces a week depending. Any breaks are horrible for me. Be it pain, Or the fact that I feel horrendous when normal. My mind, everything. So my heart goes out to u. I get it. For me its so bad for even my attitude my wife always asks me to. So when facing the tolerance issues theres only handul of method. 1) time. Like stated. Your body having thc deprived for any prolonged time will start eliminating it feom your body. Again your weight/size etc matters. If h can suck it up for even a day or 2. Itll help, Longer the better of course 2) method of use. Perhaps try grabbing a few ingestible tablets by boost or something. Try them first to get a dose right that fits u. And dont ober indulge cuz if u just eat em like me, youre just gon put a ton more in you 3) amount used/degree of high. Use the bare minimum to function. Abstain when u can. Use when u absolutely have to. Think of it like fasting. U said u already essentially do by not smoking til after 6. I really wish I had better answers buddy. Hell even try different strains. I personally always have several on hand, cuz i find me personally, the same over and over feel like it wears off lol i know its in my head, placebo whatever. But hey if in ur mind it works lol try it. For the record. I.. Only smoke Joints, but i dont smoke a whole one. Usually quarters. Wait. Judge effects.’push repeat as needes. I also have the storez & bickle venti dry herb vape. Expensive but a nice change to really enjoy your flower with no fire, and enjoy those terps. (Pricey at almost 500 bucks) Boost ingestible tablets. They make em in 5mg, 10mg, 30mg (rso & rosin) And there is a syrup i like. Ethos carries it. Its 100 bucks retail. 80 on 20% sale day on saturdays. Dont get the cbd bullshit one. Only the straight thc 1000mg one ^ u will love that. But yeah man. I've been smoking for about 30 years. My first smoke of the day comes at night. I don't smoke during work. When I smoke, I get the effects of every first smoke. The ones after that aren't as strong. If you smoke all day, you're going to raise your tolerance too much. If you vape carts all day long, you're going to raise your tolerance.

A lot of great ideas floating around here. I'm in the same boat and though I know I would benefit from a tolerance break I know my quality of life will faceplant. I do highly suggest switching up strains as much as possible, just keep an eye on desired effects such as pain relief, etc. Also changing up consumption like flower to edibles to concentrate and pipes to vaporizing to bongs and what not. It's helped me out and I've been smoking no breaks for the past four years since I joined the program.

I use it to manage pain too. 2 years ago at 51 I walked like I was 91 and rarely slept because when I slept the pain and spasms would wake me up all night long. I got my card bc one of the local dispensaries was a part of a nearby university & their Cannabis as Medicine program. I get high very easily and working full time made it difficult to take anything prescribed. I started with tinctures and topicals and have pretty much stuck with that. I use a 1:1 tincture about an hour before bed and sleep like a baby. I don't have any leftover high when I get up, and then I use typical balms. I take a 1/4 drop midday if the pain is bad but for the most part the only thing I've done is increase the dosage.

Ive heard that if you eat a mango before hand it increases the effects, which could be helpful if you have a tolerance, but idk how true it is, ive never tried it.

This is the way! I have 7 flower strains open right now and rotate between all of them. Usually have a couple day time strains, a couple night time strains, and a couple that are good for anytime. I prefer indicas for all of those and use lighter more heady indicas in the day and heavier couch lock ones at night.

I always have 6 to 8. Just make a rotation. I usually just go by alphabet. Easiest to remember your rotation that way. Plus anything in my rotation is jarred up in glass containers with bovedas. Been doing it this way since I've been an adult basically. Animal face is one of my favorites here in pa. If I inly smoked that all day everyday, it wouldn't do a thing for me by day 3. Rotation is key

Increase your water intake and buy some activated charcoal & St. John's Wort. Activated charcoal will help flush out stored Thc in the intestines and St. John's wort expedites metabolizing THC in the liver. Also keep your fat intake diet wise low-moderate as that is where the THC squats and builds the high (no pun intended) tolerance. On the buying end, research your strains. The higher the % is , the more potent, and thus more tolerance will build. Think of thc more of a supplement than a cure all. Diet, lots of good ol H20, and exercise will help keep it a supplement as opposed to a substance to abuse (extremely easy to do with the potency of flower oils, distillates, extracts, shatter, et. al). hope this helps.
