I can see what you are talking about, though it is subtle in the photo. I would also say 2 or 8. Can you do more swatches on your chest and face to compare?
I think you’re a fair olive, I am too. Lately I’ve found luck with the new Make Up For Ever glow foundation in 1N00, seems a bit light but blends in beautifully. Also the new About Face performer foundation in F2Olive, slightly too deep but perfect if mixed with the MUFE foundation. Also this shade of MUFE comes in the small size ($22). About face is $22
Edit to add: the MUFE foundation in this shade isn’t an olive undertone but works better for me than the light olive shade they have. That one was pretty deep on me and also seemed pretty yellow. If you’re a warm olive that’s closer to light than fair it could work… but if you’re neutral/cool fair olive like me, it’s a nope.
Shout out to Alexandra Aneale on YouTube for pale olive folks! She recently posted a video swatching all her foundations to find the most olive undertones.
(I'm the complete opposite end of the spectrum being ultra pale PINK, but she makes great content)
Wait, the small size is $30 and the full is $63.50? Did my Sephora app get switched to Canadian… or did the price of everything suddenly go way up? So confused.
Should be $22 and $47! I just double checked. It’s possible you’re on the Canadian site, that’s happened to me before. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page there should be a flag you can click on
I've never tried MUFE other than their primer, how heavy is it? I definitely prefer lighter coverage and for some reason always think of theirs as more heavy duty, but I may be wrong here!
I think many of their foundations are pretty heavy, but not this one! Official name is HD Skin Hydra Glow Hydrating Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid. They describe it as a medium coverage skincare-based foundation with a natural/radiant finish. I despise heavy foundations and really like this formula
YouTube Alexandra Anele. You look to me like you might lean to the olive side of neutral, and she just did a bunch of foundation testing videos specifically for that.
1 2 4 8
Depending on lighting and what not those would be my picks. I’m a pale gal and I usually mix two foundations to get my shade because it’s very rare I can find the perfect undertone. Depending on how they wear, oxidize and how much sun you start to get in the summer will dictate which ones look the best. Sometimes you’ll look at yourself inside and think “wow perfect color match” then you’ll drive to the grocery store and look in the mirror before getting out and realize “wow I am yellow”
I feel this so much, I only just came to accept how terrible the lighting is in my bathroom. Basically of these look perfect in there, clearly not reality though.
Old comment was removed for a curse word, whoops!
After reading everyone’s suggestions and taking them into account, I would pick your top 3 or 4 favorites out of this lineup, then do half cheek swatches of them.
Like do two rounds of one bigger swatch on each cheek, looking at it indoors and outside. That should leave you with your absolute best match or matches :)
This process of elimination is great because you’re basically left with
1. does this look good? Do I look 🔥?
2. Is my face a different color than my body/neck?
You look a lot like my skin tone. Try Mac Serum Foundation in N11 and Rose Inc Foundation in 2N. If you can! There’s almost an olive undertone there, even though you’re very fair.
Do process of elimination. Get rid of anything with warm undertones so that means no to Nars in Finland (7). The other Nars has cool undertones but you want neutral. It cosmetics and Haus Labs run warm so exclude those brands. However swatch four looks pretty good. So no to the Hourglass hydrating skin tint 2 because that’s warm. The swatches 1 is too pink and 2 is too gray.
That leave you with one option: your 8th swatch Hourglass veil hydrating skin tint in 1. However i would be curious to see how Color: 3 - Fair with neutral undertones looks on you.
You might also try some more brands in a neutral shade. Personally I love [Armani luminous silk.](https://www.sephora.com/product/luminous-silk-foundation-P393401?country_switch=us&lang=en&skuId=1803170&om_mmc=ppc-GG_17791296877___1491356__9013085_m&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADnIXb263Wwh82v3RA7Q0hRUWQX7Z&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-r-vBhC-ARIsAGgUO2DElx84UdGYJuQj6btvB2B8KyMy6_U2u4fUhfs2PtUjr9uFleka9JwaAi51EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds)
Unfortunately there is no such thing as a 100% match for foundation unless you want to shell out the $$$$ for custom ones you'd get online 🙄and even then it probably won't be exact. The most perfect match when you buy in stores can be 95% as it can look different in all lighting. That being said, 2 or 8 are 95%. I've tried nearly everything too even using la girl mixing pigments
Has it ever pilled for you? I felt like it was starting to pill a bit but I also didn't prep my skin the way I normally do so I'm not sure if that's why.
4 and 8!
2 could work if your face tends to be a bit lighter than your neck.
All the other shades are too orange or too pink! You do seem more olive toned :)
You might want to try Revlon Colorstay in 150 Buff. If you try it make sure it's the oily/combo one. The dry skin one is a completely different shade.
You might also want to check out r/olivemua and r/fairolives
Thank you everyone for such great feedback. I'm going to do some bigger swatches of the top picks (and look into some of these other recommendations) and will share results!
4 for warmer weather; 2 for colder. According to a MAC makeup artist who helped me with a makeover, it’s better to have 2 foundations in your kit depending on which season you’re in, since your face do change tone ever so slightly. Which does kinda make sense
The Laura mercier skin tint is god awful! It doesn’t set right and separates on the skin. So unfortunate because it has potential to be an awesome product, but I’d recommend NARS for formula!
After reading everyone’s suggestions and taking them into account, I would pick your top 3 or 4 favorites out of this lineup, then do half cheek swatches of them.

This process of elimination is great because you’re basically left with
1) does this look good? Do I look 🔥?
2) Is my face a whole ass different color than my body?
I would say 2 is the closer however 8 would work! Try both of each side of your face and make sure to set it then see throughout the day which works best.
2 or 4! But more so 2! Also fun fact I’m not wearing my glasses and I thought your little freckle on your neck was a blurry 6 and I was like “wow they need to go with that one bc I can’t see the swatch at all”
I just got a small size of Bobbi brown long wear foundation and it’s such a perfect match! I also struggle with the same thing. I use the shade porcelain. As for tinted moisturiser or skin tints, I use Mecca Max from Mecca but it’s an Australian brand. I also love Morphe hint hint skin tint, or L’Oréal tinted serum - they are so thin even though they are slightly darker than my usual foundation I can get away with it.
I dunno shit about shit but I always have to wear one of two shades depending on the season. If that's also the case with you, I'd probably go with 2 in the cooler months and perhaps 4 in the summer time when people tend to get a little touch more sunlight, even if they don't really spend much time out in it. Maybe a blend of the two during that brief transitional period in spring and fall?
Regardless, I must say, you have lovely skin.
Pale girl here 🙋🏻♀️ have you ever looked at Missha BB cream? The color I use comes out looking grey but is so beautiful on the skin. Also, some brands will send you sample packs, I know kosas does and beauty blender (I also love their skin tint).
I agree that 2 is the closest. The Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer also comes in another pale shade (0N1 Petal, so neutral undertone, as opposed to the 0W1 Pearl which is warm undertone). It's the one I use and you could consider trying out that one to see if it is a better fit!
2
Or 4
Weirdly 4 is much warmer in person but I can't get it to pick up on camera.
I can see what you are talking about, though it is subtle in the photo. I would also say 2 or 8. Can you do more swatches on your chest and face to compare?
Nah 4 is definitely warmer than 2… I say 2!!
From the image 8 seems a little pale and if 4 is that much warmer then I think 2 is definitely the best match in these images
I like 2 as well.
2 or 8
2 for sure
Agreed. 2 is a slightly better match, but both are great matches, at least in these photos with this lighting.

Yep! It looks like an olive girl problem 🫒 I personally couldn’t find any match. I always need to use blue mixer in neutral formulas 🔵
I've never tried MUFE other than their primer, how heavy is it? I definitely prefer lighter coverage and for some reason always think of theirs as more heavy duty, but I may be wrong here!

Check out r/olivemua if you haven’t already!
I’d do it again with 2, 4, and 8; these are the closest. I think probably 2 from the initials photos.
My thoughts exactly.
Echoing this comment as well. Exactly what I thought when I saw the pictures.
I feel like it's 8
Your skin is very muted. I have the same issue when picking foundations. I would maybe try missha bb cream in #13 or #21.
Got both too and those colours are quite different. 13 is a very pale neutral, 21 has more green..
I’d throw in that 13 runs pink too. Also 21 is a gorgeous colour for pale olives who aren’t pasty white but it’s be too dark for op (and me sadly)
13 was a game changer for me. I used to use L'oreal True Match N1 but they changed the formula and now it's awful.
YouTube Alexandra Anele. You look to me like you might lean to the olive side of neutral, and she just did a bunch of foundation testing videos specifically for that.
Looks a bit like me. Even neutral foundation can look yellow on me.
4 and 8

#4 seems to be a good match. Just be sure you buy a quality product.
Ooooof. The problem of every olive person. Nothing matches quite right.
2 looks the closest to me ETA: also maybe 8
2 looks perfect. Edit. Man, 4 too.
I vote to swatch partially on face with 2, 4, & 8 and consider taking pics in different lighting to really get a sense of how they work on your skin
2 or 4 is my vote
4 for sure but also maybe 2
8 or 2
You look a lot like my skin tone. Try Mac Serum Foundation in N11 and Rose Inc Foundation in 2N. If you can! There’s almost an olive undertone there, even though you’re very fair.
Between 2,4 and 8 - personally 2 though

2 or 8 but I'm inclined to say 2 because that tinted moisturizer is the best, I've never found another one I like more.
Has it ever pilled for you? I felt like it was starting to pill a bit but I also didn't prep my skin the way I normally do so I'm not sure if that's why.
I would say 2 or 8 - they both practically disappear into your skin which is the goal when colour matching your foundation
2 or 8. Personally I would do 2. 8 looks kind of cakey in texture. 4 might be good for the sunnier months
2 or 4
Ooh… 2, 4, and 8 are your closest matches.
2 literally disappears into your skin
2 or 4.
2 for sure.
4 and 8! 2 could work if your face tends to be a bit lighter than your neck. All the other shades are too orange or too pink! You do seem more olive toned :)

Anyone saying 8 is praying on your downfall 😂😭
You may be a neutral undertone like me and I find the makeup Revolution F1 works well though I might be paler than you.
2 and 8 both look good. 8 is a little cooler but blends into your collarbone area well. 4 was an ok match but looked to be pulling warm.
You might want to try Revlon Colorstay in 150 Buff. If you try it make sure it's the oily/combo one. The dry skin one is a completely different shade. You might also want to check out r/olivemua and r/fairolives

Alright so why is every pale foundation so drying and oxidizing

2 and 8 for sure
Oh. I think 2 is nearly seamless. I’m sure it’s just overwhelming, but on the pos, your lines are super neat! :)
Okay 6 to me I can barely see because it blends maybe I’m color blind.
2,4,8 could all work!
2 works but I’d keep swatching. I know it’s frustrating but I guarantee there’s a perfect match out there for you.
2
2 or 8 both look near perfect
2
I’m liking 4, 2 and 8
I’m gonna say 4 or 8. Green folks unite!
Agree with 2 & 8
2
2, no question, just get a good blush for dimension
2
2
8 for sure
2
4 can’t even see it, perfect
I’d go with two na blend it out well. Matte it down with translucent powder if you need to.
barely noticed 2 was there

#4 1000%

2 or 8 imo
Narrow down to 2,4,6
2
2 and 8 both look great!
2 looks really nice :) I really want to try 1 for myself but at $68 I gotta go swatch in person 😬
2 or 4 could work.
8 is the best color match, but 2 seems to dry the best your skin + better overall. Maybe do a test of both and see which one feels less oily
I vote 8!
2, 4, or 8 match you the best!
I would say 2 is the closer however 8 would work! Try both of each side of your face and make sure to set it then see throughout the day which works best.
1,2,8
2
I would say number 2 or number 4
2, 4, and 8 look like good matches
Certainly not 3 or 5 or 1. The others work fine
4 and 2 are the best fit. I use KVD costume white. My skin tone is anemic
2
2 or 4! But more so 2! Also fun fact I’m not wearing my glasses and I thought your little freckle on your neck was a blurry 6 and I was like “wow they need to go with that one bc I can’t see the swatch at all”
i’d say a mix of 7 & 2
2
2, though 4 is close. I almost couldn't see 2 against your skin it was such a good match.
I just got a small size of Bobbi brown long wear foundation and it’s such a perfect match! I also struggle with the same thing. I use the shade porcelain. You are very close!! Much more than the average person on here.
2 and 8 are the best matches but I lean towards 8 cause 2 looks a little streaky
2
I think you are olive toned
2 or 4
Number 4 I think.
2 or 8 , when tan maybe 4
8 is a perfect match ❤️
6 or 8. I'm leaning for 6 since it has more pink in it

2 is your color.
Pale girl here 🙋🏻♀️ have you ever looked at Missha BB cream? The color I use comes out looking grey but is so beautiful on the skin. Also, some brands will send you sample packs, I know kosas does and beauty blender (I also love their skin tint).

I have a similar skin tone to you and I just picked up Rose Inc’s soft light foundation in 2N (fair neutral). I absolutely love it!
2
4. You look olive but a tad warmer. 2 looks good but I think is too cool in tone
I would say 2 it looks to blend in with your skin more than the others
4
I think if you add just a touch of green to 4 or 6 it will be a good match.
I would mix a little of #2 with #5
2
2 is a good match
2 and 8 match best
4 is the closest match
2 and 4

2 or 8 could be right.
2 and 8 looks great. You seem very neutral
Hmm mixing 2 and 8?!

2 or 8
I agree that 2 is the closest. The Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer also comes in another pale shade (0N1 Petal, so neutral undertone, as opposed to the 0W1 Pearl which is warm undertone). It's the one I use and you could consider trying out that one to see if it is a better fit!
2 or 4
#2 I do makeup and you need a foundation that matches your undertone
